Sorry for the late uploads since a lot is happening now, but I still want to put all the episodes here so please bear with me. On the other hand, I am quite curious of how Choiseung and Seok-ryu's family will find out about them having a rel...

Maybe because they used to be like siblings or does she feel betrayed because he is one of the children who didnt stay? Very happy for Choiseung's family that it turned out for the better. After so many years of bottling it all up, they were able to finally say everything they've been wanting to for a long time. However, despite this happiness I feel for them, I wonder what's wrong with Repoter Kang telling Mo-eum that them having a relationship is not possible. The two couples we have here are really not yet on...

And we have reached the end. I won't go on too long, also because there is not much to say, everything is going as it should, but there are some points left hanging or that the author does not address anymore, which is a bit strange. I am referring in particular to the relationship between Yi-lin and Woo-jae that seemed to be in full crisis since the latter seemed to regret having married her and feelings for Hae-young were growing again in him, but the matter is not addressed anymore. I thought there would be a confrontation between Ji-wook and his biological father Ki-ho, I'm not necessarily saying a sort of father-son recognition, but not that the whole issue was left completely unaddressed since Ki-ho only used Ji-wook as a spur for Gyu-hyun. Having said that, however, I am pleased that Gyu-hyun has now welcomed Ji-wook as a real brother and that their relationship is solid. Some have criticized Hae-young's turn to open her own company instead of climbing the ladder at Kkulbee, even if only because of all the effort she put in to get the promotion, but honestly I don't mind her turn to be CEO of a small company, if only because I enjoy seeing Ha-joon who, despite finally giving up the role of secretary that he hated so much, finds himself, against his will, doing the same for Hae-young even though she hired him for something completely different. I still think it makes sense that she made herself independent given how restrictive the company rules were for her. Although no explicit answer is given, it seems clear to me that Hee-sung gave Tae-hyung a second chance, given his dedication to her and the pregnancy, demonstrating his seriousness and love. Nothing to say about Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun, they are damn cute together and their union was what practically everyone was waiting for. In this regard, I found the scene at the hotel extremely hilarious, where Gyu-hyun comes out of the elevator with his blind date (the funny cameo of Joo Hyun-young) and Ja-yeon sees them while she slips and is picked up by the new intern and, at the same time as all this, while Ja-yeon glares at Gyu-hyun, in the background you can hear a couple having a huge fight and literally giving voice to the thoughts that Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun have at that precise moment for each other; absolutely brilliant scene. And then, finally, nothing to say about Hae-young and Ji-wook, it couldn't have ended differently, but it was funny to see Hae-young speculate on a supposed marriage of Ji-wook and regret having let him go. their final meeting is a trip down memory lane where they mention significant episodes for them that seal the love that neither of them has ever lost for the other. In any case, I think Hae-young did well to free Ji-wook from the promises made that bound him every time. In this way, he was free to do what he wanted, like finding his mother and the family she built, a family that welcomed him and with whom, as we have seen, he is on good terms. In addition to this, he was finally free to love Hae-young openly without having to hide anything from her or do it with a promise in mind, but to love her only and only because he loves her without any further reasons behind it and I think it was very beautiful. Overall, I agree, an excellent drama, with just a few oversights already mentioned, a drama that excels in blending very bright and almost comic-like humor with dramatic stories, even quite intense, in an organic way and I think that was its great strength, as well as an impeccable cast that shone in their respective roles. Thanks for the reaction. Since you mentioned it yourself, you absolutely have to watch Spice Up Our Love, even if it's only two episodes long, but it's a really well-made supplement that you won't regret at all. I hope you'll watch it and share your reaction.
Several episodes ago, the box containing the objects that Gyu-hyun used to fight Nam Chang-il was already shown, but at the time you were confused about what they were. I understand, however, that now you understand what they are, but if not: they are sex toys, nicknamed Bruno and Chris, that Ja-yeon and Hee-sung gave to Hae-young for her thirtieth birthday. In the tragedy of the scene during Chang-il's attack on Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun, the writing qualities of the drama come out again, managing to insert into this context a comic element as crazy as this, that is, Gyu-hyun who holds the aforementioned sex toys as if they were two lightsabers from Star Wars (and then we also discover that they light up) to knock out Chang-il, providing quite a few laughs and without, for this, weakening the dramatic side of the story which remains such. In this regard, I think I mentioned it under the video of the last episode, that was the drama that Ja-yeon was experiencing all this time and that was completely blocking her as a person: she was totally gripped by guilt, since, in fact, she blamed herself for her father's actions that led to the death of Hae-young's father and this also prevented her from opening her heart, like when she rejected Gyu-hyun for fear of how he would react knowing about this past of hers. But beyond that, the guilt was eating her up because she believed she was keeping a secret from Hae-young, since Ja-yeon was convinced that she didn't know about Chang-il's identity. Now that everything is finally out in the open and she doesn't have to feel guilty about anything, she can finally unblock herself and move on. However, this also explains why Hae-young was so hurt by Ji-wook's secret, that he had also been adopted for a while by Hae-young's mother after Hae-young's father's tragedy: basically, she had made her mother promise not to adopt any more children precisely to avoid tragedies like that, but, as we know, she broke that promise, which brings us back to her anger over Ji-wook's secret, but also with her mother. In all of this, however, the scene that I appreciated the most was the one that reunited Hae-young with Ja-yeon shortly after the events of her father's death, in which she could have taken it out on her, hated her and chased her away, but her protective instinct prevailed, her sense of love, which is what her mother had, which prevailed over anger and this is very beautiful because it allowed Ja-yeon to be saved from a dark fate and to find a sister, like with Hee-sung. In this regard, the story of the latter also deserves attention, as she is experiencing a particular situation: as we well know, until recently, she was living a polyamorous relationship, that is, she had multiple partners at the same time, in this case two, Yoon Tae-hyung (of whom also the latter, always in accordance with their polyamorous relationship status, was carrying on a relationship with Cho Min-ji) and another one of whom we know nothing; which brings us to the current situation, where she finds herself pregnant, but does not know whether by Tae-hyung or the other one. In this situation, I realize that Hee-sung needs rock-solid certainties, having decided to keep the child and not let him suffer the same fate as her, that is, left in an orphanage and/or tossed between one foster home and another, so having the certainty that by her side there is a person who is sure to undertake this difficult situation and be a present father and companion is, rightly, important to her. In this Tae-hyung has shown himself to be responsible, staying by her side and supporting her, but then that jealous viper Min-ji instills a doubt in him that for a moment, just a moment, humanly understandable, made him doubt his decision for fear that he could not accept that the child could not be biologically his; something that Hee-sung noticed and that was enough for her to break up with him. From my point of view, although understandable, Tae-hyung does not seem like a bad person and indeed he seems responsible and sincerely in love with Hee-sung to stay close to her and accept the burden as any partner and father would do, so we can hope that, before this story ends, he can demonstrate his feelings and responsibility again. Thanks for the reaction. I remind you, once again, that to complete the work, you should (and I think I would also like to) watch the spin off Spice up Our Love, the spin off dedicated to Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun, of only two episodes, set during the events of No Gain No Love.
This is definitely the episode of proposals, of loves that consolidate, also because we are coming to the end, so now or never. As you yourself have noticed, Do Jae-sook's opposition to approving the relationship between her daughter Moe-um and Dan-ho, is not due to, as one might think at first, the fact that the latter has a daughter and therefore what people might think when they find out (on this point there is certainly a cultural issue that, from the point of view of a Westerner, he might not fully understand, but that's another story ...), but, as she rightly points out to Mo-eum, taking care of a child, becoming her mother, is not a joke, it is a serious commitment and if she were not able to fulfill it, she would cause considerable damage to the aforementioned child; therefore Jae-sook's concerns are more than understandable. What she, however, did not fully understand and underestimated at first is not only the genuine love that Mo-eum feels for both Dan-ho and Yeon-du, but that she is a person who does not back down from challenges and who always puts responsibility before everything, not by chance she is an excellent paramedic who also wants to undertake a mission to the South Pole. When Do Jae-sook finally sees with her own eyes her daughter's happiness in being a member of that family formed with Dan-ho and Yeon-du, she finally understands that there is no point in opposing all of this, but that she also wants to be a part of it, given how much she also adores Yeon-du and wants to become her grandmother. That said, the couple Mo-eum and Dan-ho are always delightfully hilarious in their interactions, especially when they want to express their respective feelings. I laughed so hard that when Da-hon suddenly kisses her in a bold way and then suddenly pulls away, Mo-eum's reaction wasn't so much about the surprise kiss, but rather disappointment about why he stopped kissing her; this all goes well with when Mo-eum suddenly kissed Dan-ho and then headbutted him because she was embarrassed. They are made for each other. Continuing with the funny parts, we can't help but talk about fate that decidedly went against Seung-hyo and his marriage proposal to Seok-ryu, first by sabotaging his car with the flowers inside, then by ruining the dinner at the restaurant, including making him trip with the cake, and finally by making Seok-ryu say no when he finally gets the proposal. Someone from above definitely wanted to hurt Seung-hyo. As we later learned, Seok-ryu's reluctance to marry Seung-hyo is due to his fear of a recurrence of cancer, which everyone who has recovered from it is afraid could happen again because sadly it tends to happen; but rightly so, as Seung-hyo points out, anything can happen, including him dying in an accident on a construction site or perhaps being hit by the infamous "truck of doom", which happened to him and prevented him from being a swimming athlete, so there's no point in worrying about it and it's better to live life to the fullest without worrying about the consequences. We are towards the last episodes and, undoubtedly, one of the themes that has not yet been addressed and that has remained floating in the ether are the misunderstandings between Mi-sook and Hye-sook: I note that some do not understand how something like this can emerge after more than forty years of friendship, but it must be said that, and here I always applaud the author's ability to use clichés to portray authentic and multifaceted human relationships, that it is not so unusual for a friendship to be such and have pending misunderstandings that however one prefers not to address so as not to ruin what is good, so I do not see it as something inconceivable, but just very human. That said, the two have always argued about their rivalry, about the fact that Mi-sook has an inferiority complex towards Hye-sook for not having had the opportunities that she had and therefore being left behind in education and professional opportunities, feeling constantly embarrassed by having the latter pay her to raise her son while she was abroad. On the other hand, Hye-sook never considered those payments as a salary, but rather a way to be grateful for what she did. In short, there are some basic misunderstandings that they need to resolve, especially now that they have discovered their children's relationship, which now risks turning into a sort of Romeo and Juliet relationship. Thanks for the reaction. (I'm fabiosegretario, I'm having problems with the other account, so I'm using this one).
I don't remember if I wrote it in a previous comment, but anyway, as I have said several times, the author of the drama is very good at using all the usual clichés to his advantage to build a story that is excellently written and acted and that has an organic progression of character growth. That said, however, I think it has a sadistic humor towards the viewer, in the sense that it has made fun of us over and over again by putting us in front of, as I said, typical clichés, I am referring to serious illnesses or injuries to the characters that then turned out to be just a bad joke, exactly as happened in this episode with the accident at Seung-hyo's construction site. Of course, it is not always like this, in the case of Seok-ryu's cancer, that was a decisive story for the construction of the character and his progression in relationships with everyone else, but even in that case, a bad joke was played on us by making us believe that he had returned; or with Hye-sook's moment of increasing amnesia, making us fear the worst, only to reveal that it was nothing special. In short, I think the author wanted to play a little with the viewer's expectations regarding these facts and I accept it, it subverts some customs on the genre. That said, I notice that some people complain that Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo behave like teenagers despite their age, but I honestly don't understand this criticism, their attitude is a distinctive trait, thanks to the fact that they grew up together and, as I once wrote, especially in love, we are all very stupid when we are in love and we behave awkwardly and then seeing them make love, finally, after the initial block of their previous date, is so beautiful and intoxicating, they are good together. Aside from that, however, Seok-ryu's reluctance to come out in the open about their relationship is understandable, at least for me, because Seung-hyo is like a sort of adopted son of Seok-ryu's parents, so there would be no small embarrassment in confessing the thing. But aside from that, and here I come back to the goodness of the drama's writing, despite Seok-ryu's success in obtaining the certificate as a chef, the reality is, as always, more complicated and brutal because, as in the case of when she finally confessed to Seung-hyo, even in this case a certificate is not enough to make dreams come true and the world of work, at every latitude of the globe, is complicated and made of constant disappointments. That's why, despite what it could mean for their relationship, Seok-ryu's choice to evaluate alternatives so as not to give up on her dream, I saw it as a show of courage and strength by the latter. But I also appreciated, despite the obvious frustration, that Seung-hyo accepted Seok-ryu's decision to think things through and not put pressure on her, but above all that this did not affect the love he feels for her, like when, as a true gentleman, he lights up the dark road for her with his car headlights, which if we want to be romantic could be a metaphor for their relationship. Again, I read some not-so-enthusiastic comments about the revelation about Dan-ho and Yeon-du, judged as excessive and unnecessary. Maybe it is, but I think they still hit the target of giving Dan-ho a slightly more valid reason, within limits, to reject Mo-eum and make him put Yeon-du first, at least from a certain point of view, because I understand that the malicious rumors that were circulating about Yeon-du forced him to move for her sake and that therefore, this wall he raised is made to protect her so that this does not happen again, but I think they also made him obtuse in not seeing what is right in front of his eyes: a woman, who also already has a responsible job and therefore shows serious will, who already loves Yeon-du, who is in perfect harmony with her and who is in love with him. As we saw, in the end, I don't know if he got there or if he simply couldn't take it anymore and gave in to the feeling, but I appreciated that, like all their interactions, even the declaration of love was a moment between awkward and tender, certainly with a non-idyllic timing, given that not only did he do it when Mo-eum was drunk, but he did it directly to her mother. There is a coherence in this couple even in certain things. I'll spend a few words on Dong-jin, who certainly has a minor story, but is still important, he is another piece of the family and I understand his situation: in reality there is some irony, because we have always seen Seok-ryu complain about how Dong-jin was treated with kid gloves because of his conditions as a child, but also because, as often happens, the younger son receives more attention than the older one, but from Dong-jin's point of view it was almost an opposite situation, because he saw his sister excel in everything, be the pride of the family, have the maximum expectations of his parents, while he failed in everything, treated like someone who would never amount to anything in life, so I understand the reason behind Dong-jin's choices in throwing himself into every unlikely business to make money quickly and therefore show everyone that they could be proud of him too. This drama outlines universal family dynamics very well, net of cultural differences, but since the beginning of time families have all gone through very similar phases. Thanks for the reaction and I hope that cough is gone.
The story, acting, directing, and soundtrack-everything is flawless, making it the perfect classic.
The question of why Hae-young is so pissed off that Ji-wook was one of the many kids her mother took into foster care is legitimate and the answer will be made explicit in the next episode, but once again, if you connect the dots of what you already know the answer is easy to guess: given that Hae-young has never had any particular sympathy for this extreme generosity of her mother towards children and kids other than herself, the tragic event that led to the murder of her father was decisive for her to hate this activity of her mother and consequently all those kids. As we have seen and always following the dots, Hae-young's father was killed by the horrible father of Ja-yeon, who we remember used to abuse both her and her mother, in an attempt to kidnap her, which led to the aforementioned murder of Hae-young's father for trying to stop him. So we can say that Hae-young is projecting her resentment and anger from that event onto Ji-wook, who was a boy taken into foster care by Hae-young's mother after that tragic event, this is because, as will be made clear in the next episode, Hae-young has put her foot down very firmly on her mother's decision to take other boys into foster care for fear that such an event could happen again, so her mother took Ji-wook into foster care secretly, without her knowing, which Ji-wook, as we will find out, knew and therefore also for this reason he had hidden this detail of his past from her. However, you will see for yourself this clarification on the plot. But in any case, we are forgetting an important element, namely Ja-yeon, who was already traumatized by her father and who after that event has taken on a perhaps sense of guilt that has conditioned her up until now and is also blocking her sentimentally towards Gyu-hyun. Here too, the explanations will come very soon. In all of this, Ji-wook seems(ed) stuck in limbo, torn between what he wants and the duty to keep the promises he made, but as both his now ex-manager Jang and Hae-young have well pointed out to him, it makes no sense to keep promises both to people who are now dead and to people who never cared about him and that therefore there would be nothing wrong with being a little more healthily selfish and taking "the reins of his own life", which is what he finally seems to want to do when he finally expressed his love to Hae-young in that beautiful romantic scene. Of course, now, after the end of the episode, things could have changed completely, but we'll see... The relationship situation between Hee-sung and Tae-hyung seems to have found the right path, with the latter who seems really intent not only on taking responsibility, even if the child is not biologically his, but also on committing himself exclusively to Hee-sung and therefore starting a monogamous relationship and no longer polyamorous as agreed by both, although there are still doubts in Hee-sung's heart about what to do because, as previously said, she knows very well what it would mean for the child if she were to regret it and would end up having the same life that happened to her. Although there is no shortage of comic relief, my favorite of all is when Gyu-hyun used Ji-wook as a shield from Hae-young's aggression, which for me is equivalent to an official recognition of the brotherly bond between the two, as well as the next morning when Gyu-hyun unwittingly disgraced both Ja-yeon and Ji-wook by revealing that they were both about to leave Hae-young, it must be said that this episode was definitely more serious than the previous ones, which is fine, given the dramatic turn it took with the looming threat of Ja-yeon's father and therefore, overall, it does not clash with the exaggerated comedy that characterized the entire drama. Anyway, yes, it's true, Hae-young and Ji-wook's story is coming to an end in two episodes, but remember that after this you should watch the spin-off Spice Up Our Love, only two episodes long, dedicated to Ja-yeon, Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon's novel of the same name which I assure you was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Thanks for the reaction.
Hope you'll react to My Dearest. One of the best kdrama out there.
Yeo Ha-joon, upon discovering that Nam Ja-yeon is actually the author of erotic novels under the pseudonym Yeon Bo-ra, despairs not because, as previously stated, he has a romantic interest in her, but because of all the circumstances that have occurred previously, in particular that he had written the infamous hate comments against her, a friend of hers, and then because until that moment he believed that Ja-yeon wrote children's books and certainly not erotic novels, so the shock of all these things was strong, even if the scene itself was funny. However, I imagine that, you will have finally understood that there was never a romantic interest between Ha-joon and Ja-yeon, but only that the latter had a crush on him so much so that she used his name for the protagonist of her novel, but it is a crush that has now faded, since it is now clear that her feelings are directed towards Gyu-hyun, even if she does everything to reject him. The reason for Ja-yeon’s recalcitrance is not yet revealed, but if you connect the dots, again, it all seems to point back to her father, now a parolee. As we all know, he is a horrible individual who abused both Ja-yeon and her mother, but there seems to be more to it since Ja-yeon has registered his number under the heading “murderer” and this all seems to involve Hae-young personally. In any case, it also seems to be one of the reasons why Ja-yeon is trying to separate from Hae-young and live on her own. The revelation that Ji-wook is Bok Ki-ho’s illegitimate son and therefore Gyu-hyun’s half-brother has shocked the latter, but more because of how his mother learned the news: it is clear that the latter is projecting all of her husband’s guilt onto Ji-wook, using Gyu-hyun as her tool to get revenge on Ji-wook and Hae-young. It should also be said that Ki-ho's motivations for using Ji-wook as leverage to push Gyu-hyun to be more ambitious and serious about the company are highly questionable, but that's what I expect from a chaebol of his generation. In any case, I was surprised by Hae-young's stance, who despite everything, takes Ji-wook's side and actually fights with him against the injustice that they are both suffering. Here I think that his mentality of costs and benefits always reigns supreme, given that the first thing he thought of was that Ji-wook should take over the role of CEO from Gyu-hyun. In any case, I really appreciated this sort of late honeymoon, or rather a late dating season, between Hae-young and Ji-wook, something they didn't have the chance to do before or after the wedding and it's beautiful to see them cooing while they're out sightseeing. As we saw in the previous episode, Hee-sung, checking the calendar, realized something and that thing was precisely that she got pregnant. If there is perhaps a small sin of this drama it is that Hee-song's story perhaps deserved a little more space, given that both for the type of life choice she wanted to undertake, namely a polyamorous relationship, and for the unexpected consequences of all this, I think it would have been better if it had had more emphasis. That said however, the writing work on her is good and you immediately notice her difficulty and the weight of this thing, both in not knowing who the father is for sure, and the decision she wants to make both for herself and for the future newborn, given that she does not want him to live the same life that she lived between foster care in orphanages and family homes. It must be said, however, that she is acting too hastily and not giving Tae-hyung credit if he would like to commit to this thing or not. Tae-hyung was framed wrongly by the audience as they thought of him as a traitor, while he wasn't, and I think he could surprise us and be more than he seems. The drama has taken a bit of a serious turn in a way, but the writers still don't forget the comic and ironic spirit that permeates the whole drama and that in fact remains, if you think about the "Boys Love" scene imagined by the employees when Ji-wook and Gyu-hyun made a fuss in front of everyone in the company. A hilarious scene. Thanks for the reaction.
I've been watching all your reactions and really enjoying them! Your thoughts are similar with mine. Feels like I'm rewatching with a friend. 😊 Keep them coming! Looking forward to more kdrama reactions from you.
Reaction drama korean beautiful world. Drama so good and sad plisss
Your so sweet
With the ending of the previous episode, the audience would have expected that Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo would have been a 24/7 love fest, having declared their love to each other and having sealed it all with a romantic and passionate kiss. However, as in reality, and this is the reason why I love this drama, despite sinking into the typical clichés of the genre to which it belongs, things are not that simple and Love Next Door, with its refined writing and layering of characters, proves it, because going from a thirty-year intimate friendship to love is not as simple as one might think. In fact, after an initial brief intoxication of love, the embarrassment of not knowing how to behave and what is right to feel in a completely new situation for both of them arises, because in fact they have been close friends for so long that moving on to a new routine as lovers is not that easy. On one hand we have Seung-hyo, who in this circumstance I quite identified with and here I renew my compliments to the writing and then to the excellent acting of the actors, in which for all the time they spent together, even when they tried to go on a date, he was frozen, speechless, not knowing how to approach her, even though his desire for love was strong, as he himself will confess later. On the other hand Seok-ryu also found herself in a new situation, in which she also didn't know what to do, so much so that between the mutual embarrassment, she even thought that, after so much insistence in declaring his feelings, he was already tired of her, a bit as if the effort made to get to the final prize was more satisfying than the prize itself, wanting to use a metaphor. I found Seok-ryu's insecurity towards Seung-hyo's ex, Tae-hui, a natural response to her already many doubts, something she expressed in that unpleasant argument that made Seung-hyo uncomfortable. In short, despite what might seem like an unfortunate episode, I saw an excellent, credible and sincerely tender representation of a relationship that is still struggling to make the step from friendship to love; a step that is finally taken in the finale, when the two finally clear things up in private, expressing everything they had inside, especially, what has now become the symbolic scene of the entire drama, the most intimate desires that then blossom into a beautiful love scene. As for the relationship between Mo-eum and Dan-ho, it is now as if they were a de facto family, especially with Mo-eum and Dan-ho's daughter, whose relationship with her is particularly maternal. The whole camping part was delightful, if it hadn't been for the abrupt ending, as soon as Mo-eum openly declared herself, proposing to become Yeon-du's new mother, beyond the already expressed feelings of love that she has for him. Dan-ho's sudden recalcitrance that breaks this idyllic spell, seen from the outside, seems incomprehensible, but there is a reason for everything... In any case, I appreciate Mo-eum's resourcefulness, which goes against the hesitations of his two friends Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo, which also goes well with his determination to participate in a mission to the South Pole. The hope is that this couple finds the understanding they deserve. Finally, it is clarified, finally, that the rumors about Hye-suk and Vice Minister Kwak Se-hwan were just that, even if indirectly encouraged by both to hide the homosexuality of the aforementioned Vice Minister, which unfortunately in Korea is considered a problem... Now, on this point, I have read of some who complain that Gyeong-jong continues to not trust his wife and that he calms down only when he finds out about this fact; I personally think that Gyeong-jong is not that he does not trust his wife, but he did not trust himself as a husband to hold a woman of Hye-sook's caliber, which led to the cold relationship that both of them had until recently, in addition to the fact that the vice minister had the reputation of being a seducer; so I think it is a sterile controversy and that he wants to read more than it is. That said, Hye-sook's illness has also returned, which was not, but only a symptom of strong stress: from a certain point of view, the author seems to make fun of the viewer, presenting, from time to time, possible tragedies, as is usual in K-Dramas, but these never materialize, as a sort of joke played on the viewers and I think that's fine, since he then uses these situations for the growth of the characters without having the weight of these traumas. Thanks for the reaction. Off topic: I recommend the dramas Dear Hyeri, Family by Choice and Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born.
순욱 편안함에 이르렀나 ㅠㅠ
I have noticed that some people tend to make excessively categorical judgments about Seung-hyo's parents, not only in their relationship, but also in how they raised Seung-hyo. In fact, it is not the first time that the show contrasts the almost sidereal differences between Seok-ryu's family and that of Seung-hyo, where the first is united, convivial, chaotic, although Seok-ryu's parents, his mother especially, live with a sense of regret for a lack of professional fulfillment due to the difficult economic situation of her family that did not give her any choice; while in the second each member lives alone, they do not eat together, everyone is busy with their own successful career and the house, like the family, is cold, detached, almost non-existent. This is emphasized in the flashback where Hye-suk has a furious argument with Gyeong-jong about putting her career before her role as a mother, making her say the most terrible thing, that she should never have had Seung-hyo, where unfortunately the latter, at the age of seven, heard everything and it left an indelible impression on him. In addition to this, it must be said that, throughout the series, it is implied that Hye-suk may even be a cheating woman for years with her colleague vice minister, casting Hye-suk in an even more bad light as if she were a negative character. On this last point, I don't want to give away any spoilers, since there hasn't been an answer yet, so I'll keep quiet about it, but for everything else, especially in light of the last episode, I think that, as usual, a good job of writing was done, because if on one hand we have Mi-sook struggling with her inferiority complex towards Hye-sook for the career she had and that she would have loved to have too, on the other hand Hye-sook had to constantly fight to maintain her successful working status in a society that doesn't favor women, especially those with families, having to make a painful decision for herself, which was then the one that saw Mi-sook act as a surrogate mother in her absence. That outburst in the flashback, similarly to what happened with Hyeon-jun, does not make Hye-sook a bad mother and wife, but a human person, therefore fallible, who had to struggle in a very imperfect world and who, in the most difficult moment of her life, allowed herself that unfortunate outburst which, rightly, she regretted immediately afterwards, because it is undoubted that she does not really think so, but it is also true that it is a sad reality that combining family and work, especially a job like hers, was complicated and required sacrifices from everyone. From my point of view, I think that a good job was done in representing this difficult theme and the characterization of Hye-sook, her husband and Seung-hyo, in this circumstance, was done very well. Beyond that, as often happens in dramas (here is another cliché, but used with a certain cunning) in the end the problems of this family are all dictated by the lack of communication, often for fear of having their fears confirmed, Seung-hyo's outburst in the forest I think was the best thing for everyone, in which he highlighted all their mistakes and allowed them to start over with a new perspective. Communication is always the best thing, but it is often the most difficult thing to do and we have already seen it with Seok-ryu. Aside from that, I can't help but find the whole plot about Mo-eum, Dan-ho and Yeon-du hilarious and tender, especially when I think back to Mo-eum's funny dream about the superhero Mudflat Man, portrayed as if it were a late seventies Japanese tokusatsu like Super Sentai or Kamen Rider, which is strange, since I thought Mo-eum's passion was American Marvel superheroes like Spider-man or Iron Man. Aside from that and the constant awkwardness that Dan-ho and Mo-eum have in being in the same place, the scene at the sauna between Mo-eum and Yeon-du is a further step forward in the relationship, in which Mo-eum, more and more, demonstrates her maternal skills even in complicated contexts in which she had to console Yeon-du when she missed her mother. It's a couple that gives us satisfaction every time. But Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo also give us just as much satisfaction (and they will give us, you'll see), even though this episode was largely monopolized by the secondary stories, there were tender moments between them and the ending, where they finally take the step we were all waiting for, was a beautiful scene (thanks also to the Van Gogh-esque setting with the sunflowers): I appreciated how Seok-ryu declared herself using the banana milk as a metaphor, but also, perhaps for the first time, Seung-hyo's confidence when he went towards her to kiss her. It's a new beginning for them too and it will be very interesting how the authors will handle this thing, because up to now they have been able to ride intelligently, without giving up careful writing, the various clichés. Thanks for the reaction.

I honestly don't know what to think about the fact that you not only believe that there is still a love triangle between Ja-yeon, Gyu-hyun and Ha-joon, which in reality never existed, but that you even hope that Ja-yeon and Ha-joon will end up together. As I wrote under the video of the previous episode, there is no such thing, Ja-yeon has had a crush on Ha-joon since high school, which is why she used his name for the male protagonist of her novel, but Ha-joon is not only unaware of her feelings, but has no romantic interest in her, he only sees her as a friend and not even that close, it's a one-way love. It's Gyu-hyun who has started to develop a strong romantic interest in Ja-yeon, as we've seen and they are the second couple in this drama, I don't know why you were so convinced by Ha-joon. In any case, this episode provides a further detail about Ja-yeon's past, namely why she disappeared during high school, as Ha-joon wondered when the two visited their old school; the reason is soon said: as we had already discovered, Ja-yeon was a victim of abuse by her father, which led to her being entrusted first to an orphanage and then to the foster home of Hae-young's mother; however, her father discovered not only what school she attended, but also the foster home she was staying in, as evidenced by the flashback in which, furious, he looked for her, which forced Hae-young's parents to temporarily transfer her to another foster family and enroll her in another school. Of course, this is just a piece of the story, there is still a piece that has not been revealed and, as we know, she does not confide this part of the story to others, on the contrary, she keeps everything inside and it is an emotional pain that is still great in her, so much so that, as we already know, the infamous hate comments of Gyu-hyun made her remember it. In this regard, we also discovered that it was not Gyu-hyun who wrote those comments, which also explains his confusion when Ja-yeon reproached him for writing that she had to die, but that it was Ha-joon who did it, in good faith, on Gyu-hyun's orders, which seems to have shocked Ja-yeon when she found out. Obviously Ha-joon simply carried out the task entrusted to him, so I would not blame him too much, even though he wrote terrible things so lightly and he will have to take responsibility for this, which he himself has already admitted when working as a volunteer with Gyu-hyun at the orphanage. In any case, Ja-yeon's reluctance towards Gyu-hyun's obvious feelings are not so much to be attributed to the latter's hiding his identity, but to something that we still don't know and that will be relevant... I found it very funny that they reversed one of the most classic drama clichés, that is the so-called "dead fish kiss", that is when there is a kiss between the two protagonists and usually the female protagonist remains frozen, like a dead fish, but this time it was the male protagonist, Ji-wook, when Hae-young gave that half-heavy kiss to push Woo-jae away and not make him suspicious. In this moment I love how Ji-wook takes the initiative, a bit out of spite, and gives her a real passionate kiss worthy of the name. Here Ji-wook accuses her of being an opportunist and it's true, the whole drama is based on Hae-young's lifestyle where, in everything she sees an opportunity, a gain because of how she was raised. We are in a particular phase of the relationship, in which they are now playing with their cards on the table, especially when he confesses openly when they are buying the bed and she is more and more attracted to him and now there is no longer any real gain from this relationship and feelings are the master. In all of this I still love Ji-wook's slightly childish soul when he tries to impress Hae-young by organizing situations in which he can prove to be the man she needs, only to then turn everything against him, making himself look stupid. The drama continues in the excellent work of mixing comedy and drama, the chemistry between the two protagonists is palpable not only in the romantic scenes, but also in the comic ones, where both have excellent timing. Anyway, ultimately, it is now clear that Ji-wook was hired at Kkulbee by his biological father Ki-ho and that the manager Jang works for him and that he did it to give competition to Gyu-hyun, to encourage him to do better, too bad that Ji-wook does not have such ambition, unlike Hae-young, as underlined by Ki-ho himself. In short, in a twisted way, this maneuver makes sense, even if treating your illegitimate son as if he were a vehicle is not exactly the best and in any case now this secret has also come to light, we will see the developments. Thanks for the reaction. I remind you again that once you finish No Gain No Love, you will have to watch its spin-off Spice Up Our Love, which is only two episodes long and is dedicated to Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun... in a way... Remember that.
You sound really bossy and demanding. You can request or recommend that she watch Spice Up Our Love. The way you put it sounded more like a demand.
I'm sorry you read that tone, I was actually neutral. The obligation, so to speak, is that, otherwise, a little more of the story would be lost otherwise.

It's good to clarify a couple of things, since I see you're very confused. As we've seen, Hae-young caught Tae-hyung, Hee-sung's boyfriend, flirting with another girl, who happens to be a co-worker of Hee-sung's, but, as Hee-sung herself states, there was a misunderstanding and it turns out that Hee-sung and Tae-hyung have a polyamorous relationship: to put it simply, polyamorous people are people who, with the consent of the parties involved, have multiple romantic and physical relationships with multiple partners, basically it's the opposite of classic monogamy. It's a concept that's a bit more common in the West with its more progressive values than in the East, especially in conservative countries like South Korea that are, let's say, more traditionalist on these things. That said, as I wrote, I don't remember under which episode, there was a hint about this, when Tae-hyung mentioned that the relationship with Hee-sung had changed and that change is exactly this. The funny thing is that the theme of polyamory was brought up in another drama currently underway that I'm watching with pleasure: DNA Lover, which I also recommend watching. In any case, I was surprised that this aspect was treated with consideration, a sign also, as mentioned above, that these aspects, culturally, are more delicate in Korea than in the West. In this regard, this ties in with another scene that you didn't fully understand: when Ji-wook decides to move into Hae-young's house in the closet on the terrace, she inadvertently finds a large box that Hee-sung had given her for her thirtieth birthday, a sort of "bedside" world tour: that box, although not explicitly stated, contained several so-called sex toys for female pleasure, which is why Ji-wook gets very embarrassed and for a moment becomes funnyly defensive. Again, this kind of thing and the topic itself are more in keeping with the progressive Western mentality than the aforementioned conservative mood of countries like South Korea. In short, although very shyly, I have to say that this drama has aspects that I would never have expected to see in a Korean drama intended for television and, as I see it, there is nothing wrong with that, but here it is up to everyone's sensitivity, I think that they were treated with the right tones, remaining within the comic and romantic framework of the drama. Another thing that I noticed that you continue to get confused about: there is no love triangle between Ja-yeon, Gyu-hyun and Ha-joon, the second couple of this drama is Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun of which, only now the latter is falling in love with her, while Ja-yeon has had a crush on Ha-joon since high school, but it is one-sided, Ha-joon only sees her as a friend. In addition to this, you forgot that Gyu-hyun is acting incognito to resolve the matter of the hater comments, this at the request of his father, so that the company does not get dragged into this further scandal. In addition, Gyu-hyun took Ja-yeon away before she saw Ha-joon for this reason, but also because Ha-joon would have actually discovered that she is the author Yeon Bo-ra and that she does not write children's books, but erotic novels for adults; although in the end she actually finds out who he is or at least that he is not a poor guy, but a CEO and Ha-joon's boss to boot. Her shock at this, which also made her stumble, will have repercussions on her trust in Gyu-hyun. But in all of this, another thing you didn't get is that, when Ja-yeon is about to enter the orphanage, where she grew up before being taken into care by Hae-young's mother, she has a very sad memory in which she sees herself as a beaten and crying little girl, while she drags herself: this ties in with the memory/dream in which Ja-yeon was hiding in a closet while her father screamed and banged on the door like a madman; it can therefore be deduced, as I wrote at the time, that Ja-yeon was the victim of abuse by her father and it is a pain that she carries with her, a pain that those negative comments brought back to her memory. Having said all that, the drama continues with its hilarious and hilarious comic scenes, above all the scene where they eat those disgusting gimbap, especially when, to keep up appearances, Hae-young, after saying that Ji-wook had prepared them and they were delicious, was forced by the latter, with a funny evil smile, to eat another one; as well as the argument between her and her ex Woo-jae, with the latter who continues to tease her after realizing that her relationship with Ji-wook is an act. But obviously the heart-pounding romantic situations between Hae-young and Ji-wook reign supreme, confirming the excellent chemistry they have expressed so far, a chemistry that is also confirmed in the comic scenes. Thanks for the reaction. Half off topic: remember to watch, after finishing No Gain No Love, also Spice Up Our Love, a spin off of only two episodes of No Gain No Love dedicated to Ja-yeon and Gyu-hyun, but above all to the novel of the same name that she is writing. It will be worth it and is an excellent addition to the mother series.
Yasss... This is what I waiting. 😍😍😍
😍🥰😍
It is a true happy ending
우영우 이후 다시 보내요.. 잘 보고 있어요~~
You speak Korean pretty well (pi, bikyeo....)
As expected, the news of Seok-ryu's cancer was devastating for her entire family, but also for all her friends and relatives in the neighborhood, where everything they said or did was questioned. Obviously Mi-sook, Seok-ryu's mother, as well as her father and even Seok-ryu's brother Dong-jin, all deal with the thing by thinking back to everything that happened and what they said to each other, obviously with a great sense of guilt, which is normal. Only in difficult moments can you have the courage to question yourself, understand what you did wrong, but also how to fix it. As they say: from bad comes good and there is no doubt that, despite the tragic event (which we will later discover is not tragic, or rather it was, but not anymore) it allowed Seok-ryu's family to understand her better than before, to understand how hard it was for her, that she is a much tougher person than they believed and that her motivations were not whims. That said, as I wrote at the time, Seok-ryu's choice to keep everyone at a distance was an easy choice, because laying yourself bare in front of those close to you is difficult, because it means showing your fragility and your true self and now she had to do it despite herself. The title of the episode undoubtedly refers to this, the bear who remains locked in his cave and who in the end, finally leaves her. But in all of this, we learn how Seok-ryu, from time to time, sought help, in her own way, from the only person she thought would help her: Seung-hyo; however, as we saw, Seung-hyo completely ghosted her when he saw that she was with Hyeon-jun, letting his wounded pride win rather than asserting their long-standing friendship. Seung-hyo was unable to pick up on the signals she was sending him, those small indirect requests for help, he turned a deaf ear to all her calls and as we can see, this was his great regret once he understood it, also because, in some way, it contributed to her depression and to her further closing herself off from everything. Here too we see how good comes from bad, because this exposure made Seung-hyo understand what he had done wrong and Seok-ryu's reasons for closing himself off, because it was not only to protect others from her pain, but also because her requests for help went unheard by the person who should have heard them. The scene on the beach is very significant: it shows how Seung-hyo knows Seok-ryu very well and in fact found her mindful of past experiences, but it also shows how he, mindful of how Seok-ryu faced him head on when he had the accident that marked the end of his career as a swimmer, teasing him in every possible way so that he could release everything he held inside and so here he applies the same method by taking her and throwing her into the sea to make everything she held inside come out. Seok-ryu's outburst is as touching as it is tender, because she needed it to be herself and he deserved those scoldings. A beautiful scene written and expertly acted that pairs with the following moment, when Seung-hyo shows his immense relief in learning that her cancer had not returned, embracing her passionately. This whole experience, when we then see the subsequent welcome home party that they prepared for her, has shown Seok-ryu the mistake she had made in excluding everyone, that the support of her loved ones was what she needed to heal her soul. In addition to this, unfortunately, it also shows how Hyeon-jun, who let us remember, was by Seok-ryu's side for all the difficult moments and whose only fault was that he too had collapsed under the weight of that burden, of not being enough for her, of not being what she needed and it was very mature of him to understand it by himself and make the decision to leave her in the right hands; I also appreciated his maturity on this, but also, as mentioned, that he knows Seok-ryu well, Seung-hyo's ability to allow Seok-ryu to say goodbye to Hyeon-jun properly, because he was important to her anyway and, like when he understood that she needed to cry that night at the park and took away her umbrella so that her tears would be hidden by the rain, this time he knew she needed to do it and covered her with his jacket so that she could do it in private. In short, he knows and understands her better than anyone else. A word needs to be said for Mo-eum and Dan-ho, who finally have an intimate moment where they lay themselves bare and get closer, even if, as seen in that hilarious kiss scene where she saw his surprised look and her animal survival instinct kicked in and told her to attack and run away... five meters away in the apartment next door. Aside from the comic side, it's nice to finally see their progress. As for Seung-hyo's parents, it must be said that Gyeong-jong has a tendency to jump to conclusions without listening to the other's explanations or reasons and that's obviously not good. As for Hye-sook, I'll just say that strange things have been happening around her lately... But I won't say anything else, we'll see how it develops. Love Next Door maintains its refined writing and exceptional performances, despite relying on the usual clichés, but with intelligence. Thanks for the reaction. Off topic: if you've already finished watching No Gain No Love, go and watch the spin-off Spice Up Our Love, only two episodes long, starring Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun who reprise their roles from the original series... but not only that. It's worth it, you'll have fun.
Now that you mention the name seokryu its pronounce seongnyu cause in korean baatchim(pronounciation) when ㄱ (k) meets ㄹ (r/l) its become ng meets n. Just a fun fact that you might wanna know. Anyway thank you for consistently upload the episode, always appreciate it👍
There is no doubt that Love Next Door exploits the vast majority of clichés of the Korean TV series industry, which is what they all do, but the strength of the drama in question lies in using them well, intelligently, not (only) to generate easy sentimentality in the viewer, but also and above all to develop the characters through them, to give them depth and characterize them in a credible and human way, in a genuine slice of life story. This episode is a great example of this, especially when, finally, the mysterious past of Seok-ryu that was whispered here and there on various occasions is revealed. In learning Seok-ryu's story, we see how she and Hyeon-jun had a beautiful and happy relationship, so much so that he asked her to marry him; it is worth noting how the proposal scene was written and performed in such a natural way that it is a joy to see Jung So-min acting so naturally. But as we now know, then came the stomach cancer and then, after overcoming this difficult moment, also came the depression for her. If we analyze this context, Hyeon-jun, who by the way, as I supposed, has never cheated on Seok-ryu with another, has always been a good guy, sincerely in love with Seok-ryu and who has remained close to her in every dark phase of her life; but, as I said at the beginning of the text, here lies the skill of the screenwriter, in which Hyeon-jun is portrayed as a normal human being who, like all of us, also has a breaking point and his was Seok-ryu's depression, in which, at a certain point, he was no longer able to handle it and had that bad outburst against her which, I'm sure, he regretted having done, but who, as said, is human and as such, is fallible. We must also acknowledge that depression does not only affect those who suffer from it, but also all the loved ones around them and Hyeon-jun was the perfect example of this. That's why I love this drama, because it adds layers of complexity that never make anything black and white, but only infinite shades. We must also talk about Seok-ryu herself: when she made that phone call to her mother, she certainly had the intention, initially, to tell her what she was going through, but then she closed herself off and continued to pretend nothing had happened with her and the rest of the people dear to her. On the one hand, this is her way of protecting them from the evil that was devastating her, both physically and psychologically, which continues to this day, rejecting Seung-hyo's feelings, because, precisely because of the experience with Hyeon-jun, she does not want to drag him into that situation. It must be said, however, that Seok-ryu, in a certain sense, is making the easiest and most selfish choice by cutting everyone out, because in this way he does not have to expose himself completely to them and see her for who she really is, because there is no doubt that laying himself bare in front of the people he loves is very difficult. Now, however, he will no longer be able to choose, since everything has come out in the open, which I presume will devastate her parents quite a bit, especially in light of the various heated discussions that have concerned her and which will now have, for them as it has for us viewers, a very different meaning. That said, wanting to briefly return to these discussions, the complaints of Seok-ryu's parents are all valid, both because they do not want her potential to go to waste, but above all because they do not want her to have regrets like her mother Mi-sook does and then there is also the economic aspect to consider which is also at the basis of their complaints, given that the restaurant sector is complicated, especially if you have your own business like that of Seok-ryu's father. In short, their arguments are all valid, as are their concerns, but they are underestimating Seok-ryu's newfound passion... Coming to more trivial aspects: the second protagonists continue to delight us with exquisite, romantic but also hilarious scenes, like when Mo-eum, in a fit of joy, expressed her desire to become the mother of Yeon-du, Dan-ho's daughter, with the latter expressing assent and then, a couple of seconds later, realizing what he had said, as well as Mo-eum herself who tries in every way to justify herself; a scene that made me laugh out loud, but also so sweet and, as I said at the time, all these gaffes by Mo-eum are the karma that comes back to her for all the times she made fun of Seung-hyo and his love problems with Seok-ryu. Love Next Door confirms itself as the best series of this period for its brilliant and intelligent writing and for its exceptional interpreters, Jung So-min is always a guarantee. Thanks for the reaction.

As it happened before, this episode, as I imagine you noticed, also contains a cameo: when Bok Gyu-hyun is leaving the orphanage, after finishing his service as agreed with Ja-yeon, he meets the director of the art gallery Eom So-hye, played by Kim Sun-young, who reprises this role from the 2019 drama Her Private Life starring Park Min-young. I imagine this is due to the fact that the script of that drama and this drama was written by the same person: Kim Hye-young. Basically, what Hae-young feared more than anything else happened: gossip at work about her and that everything she does is criticized because of the relationship she has with one of her subordinates. In fact, although Ji-wook saved her from that misunderstanding that was about to cost her disciplinary action, if not her job directly, by confirming his marital relationship with her, this however opened the doors to a whole series of, as mentioned, gossip around her both in her private life and at work, between inappropriate comments and doubts about her performance. In a certain sense, although the tone of the drama remains predominantly comic, also thanks to the additional animations and the hilarious sketches that bring Hae-young's unbridled imagination to life, the drama still deals with a real problem that exists in the workplace in large companies: sexual or parental discrimination, sexist attitudes towards female employees or the unequal treatment of single women and married women. In any case, staying on the focus of the characters, Hae-young's attitude of remaining true to herself is still remarkable, therefore of always evaluating the costs and benefits of everything, something she has always done since she was little, and of turning every situation in her favor and we see how, from all this, she does not let herself be discouraged by the situation but exploits it to her advantage, also thanks to Ji-wook who, despite appearances, continues to always be at her side to support her, to show that he is truly in love with her with sincere actions (like when he, when he worked at the minimarket, made her find the gimbap with the flavor she preferred) and it is splendid to see them together in scenes between the tender and the sensual. It no longer needs to be repeated, after the third test, it is now certain that Ji-wook is the illegitimate son of CEO Bok Ki-ho and consequently the younger half-brother of Bok Gyu-hyun (moreover, it has been revealed that both Ki-ho, Gyu-hyun and Ji-wook have a poor tolerance for alcohol). The role of manager Jang is more ambiguous, and from the phone call it does not seem to depend directly on Ki-ho, but on someone else, perhaps his wife Sun Jung-a, which however makes the whole situation ambiguous, but we'll see about that. However, I found it interesting and effective how they wanted to bring Ji-wook and Gyu-hyun closer and interact, not through Kkulbee, but separately, as volunteers in the orphanage, without one knowing about the other, this allowed the two to establish a natural connection, without the heavy superstructures of roles and in fact, between them, a real bromance was born as they say and it is quite fun to see them together; whether this will have a weight when, inevitably, Gyu-hyun discovers the truth, we will find out. In the end, we can say that the love story between Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon has begun, the latter having had the opportunity to begin to discover that Gyu-hyun is not a bad person as the hate comments had suggested, but a good man who took care of her and who is sincerely sorry for his actions. Ja-yeon has certainly started to show sympathy for him and it will be nice and fun to see how their situation will evolve, which, here too, will see what weight Ja-yeon's revelation of Gyu-hyun's true identity will have. As I wrote previously, as we saw from the flashback, now there is confirmation that Ja-yeon has an unresolved trauma caused by her father who seems to be a violent man, which is linked to the hateful comments that upset her; surely this element will also influence the relationship she has with Gyu-hyun. The drama continues to linger on the mystery of what happened to Hae-young's father, but that seems to be a crucial element that they want to keep hidden until the end. Aside from that, this drama amazes me as it manages to remain extremely funny even in unlikely situations, like the dinner at the end of the episode that started off with a less than pleasant tone, with CEO Bok who seemed to be interrogating Ji-wook and Hae-young more than anything else, but then completely transformed as soon as everyone started drinking, becoming a hilarious party that ended with an unexpected hangover as seen in the finale that was hilarious. Thanks for the reaction.
😍🌻🤭
In the episode, during the episode where Hae-young intercepts the abused child and then the fight between her, Ji-wook and the child's father follows, she states that, having grown up with a mother who took in several children throughout her life, she has seen all kinds of children, including children like the one mentioned above, that is, abused by their parents and therefore she recognizes the signs instantly just like she did with this child. If you connect the dots carefully, inevitably all the clues lead us to Ja-yeon: as we can guess in this episode where, when she is at the police station to continue discussing the case of the hate comments received from Gyu-hyun, the police officer asks her about her father, she stiffens and is shocked for a moment and immediately after she throws in Gyu-hyun's face the apology letter he had sent her emphasizing a lot that in the hate comments he had emphasized a lot that she deserved to die; if you put all these things together, we inevitably understand that Ja-yeon was the victim of abuse from her father that left her with a psychological wound that the hate comments have reopened. In short, if Ja-yeon is characterized as the most carefree character of the whole group, underneath the surface hides a suffering that has not yet healed and that with this matter, perhaps with the help of Gyu-hyun, will be able to heal. Their story, moreover, continues to be particular for how it is taking a long, but still necessary, path compared to others in which the spark of love ignites immediately or almost. Returning to Ji-wook, as I wrote, I believe, under the video of the previous episode, even in this case, if you connect all the dots you begin to see the result: if in the previous episode you could suspect something, with this one the suspicions begin to be almost a certainty, even without the almost: Ji-wook is the illegitimate son of Bok Ki-ho and consequently Gyu-hyun's half-brother. It is clear that only Bok Ki-ho could include Ji-wook among the candidates as if it were nothing, in addition to being the only one who could demobilize the lawyer Kang Bit-na to get Ji-wook and Hae-young out of trouble from the police station, in addition to offering a luxurious apartment, an expensive car, in addition to the fact that I doubt that someone like Manager Jang answers to the orders of someone lower than the CEO of Kkulbee himself; it should also be added that he insisted on keeping him and Hae-young on the same team... Why he is doing it, after all this time, is currently unanswered, but it seems that Ki-ho can consider Ji-wook as his possible heir, given that, from his point of view, Gyu-hyun seems to be collecting failures. Coming to Hae-young, her point of view is not senseless: unfortunately it must be said, the world of work, especially the corporate one, is not very favorable towards women, especially in conservative societies like Korea; her concern is legitimate, as she herself expressed during the team's alcoholic evening, also considering that she even had a "fake marriage" to be considered for the role she has now. Apart from that, under all this acrimony, in reality her feelings are so evident, so much so that, as Ji-wook himself pointed out, she was more concerned with asking him what had happened to him and not why he was there as a new employee. This couple continues to give satisfaction and many moments both hilarious and romantic, expressing a beautiful chemistry. It is worth spending a few words for Hee-sung: when Tae-hyung proposed to marry her, a promise that Hee-sung herself made ten years ago, he said something interesting, namely that their relationship had changed. This is an important detail because, as often happens in dramas, things may not be as they seem, since at the moment it seems that Tae-hyung is a traitor and that Hee-sung is aware of it, but pretends nothing is happening. In short, this drama continues to maintain an excellent balance between the funny and comical parts and the more serious and dramatic ones, with an exaggerated almost comical style that, personally, makes me laugh out loud and I find the comic performances of both Shin Min-a and Kim Young-dae excellent, which is counterbalanced by more delicate themes such as those that emerged, but always remaining a very light and fun show. However, I find it ironic that Lee Sang-yi here plays a physically weak character, when in Bloodhounds he played a boxer with a disruptive physique and strength, I found the contrast comical. However, my two favorite scenes of the episode remain when the manager Jang reveals that he is sterile, but above all that he is only forty years old with Ji-wook who asks him to see a document for verification; while the second is the near fatal accident of Gyu-hyun who, yes, by now you should know that the biggest villain of every self-respecting k-drama is the "truck of doom", strictly white in color from the construction industry, which always appears at crucial moments to ruin the happiness of our protagonists. It is the quintessential cliché of dramas that, like all the others, is codified in the very structure of the drama so much so that, if it were not there, it would be alienating. Here, however, it made me laugh at how the truck driver himself responded to the near accident, almost as if to say: "you're lucky I wasn't on duty today". Even in this, the hilarious comic and ironic vein of the drama is evident, which is wonderful. Thanks for the reaction.
Postscript: From October 3rd, I think, Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun will star in the spin-off of "No Gain, No Love": "Spice Up Our Love".
