난 원래 좀 뭔가 없는 사람이다. 친구도 없고 돈도 별로 없고 눈물도 없고 감성도 없다. 근데 이 드라마를 보면서 눈물을 흘렸다. 그런 내모습이 너무 낮설고 싫었다. 하지만 나중엔 받아들였다. 외로웠었고 누군가 그리워 했었다는걸 인정했다. 그리고 또 한가지는 나도 좋은 어른이 되야겠다는 생각... 이 드라마에게 감사하다.
개인적으로 인상깊은 장면은 '지안'이 직장에서 커피를 훔치고 집에서 서,너개를 한번에 타는 장면이였다. 나는 그 장면에서 가난과 생존과 무심해져버린 자아에 대한 방치를 가슴깊이 아파하며 볼수밖에 없었다. 부디 바라건데 그 커피의 당분이 최소한의 생존에 대한 에너지가 되어 지금 현 시대를 살아가는 힘에겨운 이웃들에게 잠시나마 달았으면 하는 바람을 가져본다.
40대 혼자사는남잔데요 살면서 드라마를 보면서 이렇게 많이 울었는지 싶네요 이장면이 마지막이라는 것도 슬프고 이장면이 사라지고 화면이 꺼지면 이제 나는 또 현실이네, 그게 너무 슬프고 저 화면안에 들어가서 정희네가서 후계동 사람들이랑 매일 일끝나고 지친삶 위로받고 싶고 외로움삶 위로받고 싶고 진심으로 걱정받고 싶네요 일요일에는 공도 같이 차고 싶고 저곳이 지상에서 유일한 천국이 아닐까 쉽네요 극중 지안말대로 나도 지금 죽어서 다시 저 후계동이라는 동네 에서 태어나고 싶네요 정말이지 이런 드라마를 만들어 주신 티비엔 또스텝분들 또 배우분들 정말 감사드립니다 살면서 지금 삶에 지친저에게 정말 소중한 선물이네요 감사합니다
음 그럴수도 있군요 ㅎㅎㅎ 전 모든게 정리된 그 시점에서도 삶이 쉽지 않아서 그런게 아닐까 했어요, 가족은 옆에 없고 싫든 좋든 이제는 와이프 마저 미국으로 떠나 .....남들이 보기에는 사장이 되어서 행복해 보일수 있지만,,,,, 현실은 그렇지 않은 힘든 삶에서 오는 울음일꺼라고 생각했는데.....너무 함축적이라 정확한 추측은 힘든거 같아요 ㅎㅎㅎ
제 생각에는 그동안 많은 일들이 자기가 격은 일을 주위사람들이 슬퍼해 줬다가 자기는 맘껏 슬퍼하지 못하다가 아내와 아들이 유학간 집에 홀로 텅그러니 있으니 그동안 있었던 모든 슬픔이 자기한테 온걸 표현하는 것 같음 태생적으로 쓸쓸한 인간 3형제중 2째 한국사회의 모든 쓸쓸한 아저씨중 하나를 대변하는 캐릭터. 어른 같이 대처하던 동훈도 결국은 참아내지 못한다 아니 참지 않아도 된다 라고 드라마는 말해주고 있다고 봅니다

I was bawling so hard with this series. I cried and cried. I went on a 2-day marathon to finish all episodes and ended up with a headache, eyes that were swollen, runny nose, and heart so heavy with emotions. The best there is 🤍
I actually felt uncomfortable in some scenes because it was so well made it felt too realistic. omg.. i loved it. 사실 저도 종종 편안하지 않은 느낌이 들었어요. 왜냐면 정말 잘 만들어져서 너무 진짜처럼 다가워서 그랬나봐요. 정말 좋은 드라마였어요!
What a journey it has been. This wasnt a show , it was an art and it will be with you forever and i think whoever watched is changed for ever. It was so relatable and for younger ppl like me it kind of gives us a peek whats in store for us and also teaches us the ripple effect of doing something good for someone. The show started out lee ji ahn wanting to harm Ajusshi but due to his kindness it slowly turn Lee Ji Ahn into his fierce protector and slowly the ripple effect affected them all the people in his life and there is more deep themes to it.If you find someone to talk to about this series , your conversation wouldnt end coz there is so many things they touched on so beautifully. The writing and directing was .. i am speechless. Imagine trying to explain someone the plot of this drama , they will find it boring but if they watch it , they wouldnt know whats in store of them. The actoes did such a good job 👌👌, they really showed what they can do with amazing script. Special shoutout goes to IU, she did such an phenomenal job, i didnt knw she was such a good actor becuase i hrd bad reviews about her acting 👏. And the ost, still makes me cry when i listen to it. And obviously THANK YOU for WATCHING the series and sharing your experience with us, thanks to u i went through this beautiful journey again. Looking forward to your next video 😊😊💜💜

It's just that drama elitist are very hard on idol actresses especially, her acting in moon lovers was amazing too, with each episodes her acting became better and better and her sad, crying scenes hs always been her strength and in my mister she gave her best till date and in hotel del luna she's legendary, Jian, Manwol and Haesoo will always be remembered by most in kdrama land and hope her other new works too create even better effects ❤
Exactly.....this show makes us introspect ourselves. Do we judge people around us, do we accept people as they are, do we empathize with their situation, do we keep the secrets, do we go the extra mile to help people in the small little ways we can, do we forgive people.....we may be pitiful ourselves, that doesn't restrict us to feel pity for someone else and support them.....right till they recover and stand strong. As much as Ji an respected Hoon by listening to him all the time and understanding the person he was, the loan shark guy changes after listening to the audio tapes. That was a striking lesson for all of us. Ji An did not bad mouth about him. But reasons why he was behaving as he does. The healing and strengthening words of Hoon to Hi An applies to him. The purity of thoughts and actions of Hoon and Ji An, rubs on every one around them. Let us try to be such positive people to our family, friends, colleagues and neighbors. ❤️
Hehe, I think you make a good point. I have rarely come across someone as mature as Park Dong hoon even though I know many adults. We are all burdened by our own childhoods.히히 정말 좋은 표현이에요. 많은 어른을 알지만 동훈처럼 성숙한 어른은 많지 않아요. 우리는 우리 모두의 어린이 같은 마음을 이겨내야해요.
이드라마에서 가장 생각을 많이 하게 한 장면은 요양원에서 지안이 우니까 할머니가 왜 우냐고 물어보니 지안은 이렇게 대답해요 나랑 친한 사람 중에서 좋은 사람이 생겨서 기뻐서 운다고.. 나를 뒤돌아보게 만든 장면이였습니다.. 정말 좋은 어른이 되어야 한다는 생각을 더욱 강하게 만든 장면이기도 했습니다
I just finished watching this KDrama. This is the best drama i ever watched. What a deep meaning of life they told to us. Wonderful plot, story, and ost. Some scences make my tears drop down. I was holding out for a long time to watch My Mister although I love IU because I didn't want to be sad or cry so much but finally watched and I am glad I did! This is very nice story and really make you think about how you live life and life is worth living if you keep trying. Great actors and actresses including IU of course!
After days of contimplating and reading some forum..the ending actually speaks volumes than what it show that "thank you" from donghoon can actually be a form of confession...before Jian runaway Donghoon had a conversation with his brothers..I can't say thank you to her because she would know what would it mean by how what (she actually means to him) that was an unspoken love gratitude that he was not able to convey to her but Jian actually did hear him in the car when he said (thank you) Now the ending when he said "thank you" Jian actually got the msg..that's why she replied I'll buy you a dinner..Jian as always the aggressive know Donghoon, had just ask him for a date and we know this date will be different this time.

아.. 마지막에 동훈이 슬프게 우는건 그 동안 가족과 아내를 위해 모든걸 참고 인내하며 자신이 무너지면 모든게 무너질거라 생각해 버텨오다가 지안을 통해 자신의 인생의 의미를 찾고 자신도 행복해야 할 이유를 찾음으로써 그 동안 쌓여왔던 것들에 대해 처음으로 마음 놓고 아이처럼 우는 장면이에요.
At first I watch this drama because of IU, but this drama really gives a big impact to me. It was the first time that I cry after hearing the word "Fighting!" IU nailed it! Hope you could also watch "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo"
Can you watch "it's okay that's love" next ? It's one of a kind drama about psychology romance self forgiveness and humans in general. Written by (noh hee Kyung) one of the best Korean writers.. Lee Ji An. Her name. 'Lee' is her family name which put the first position of name in Korea naming system. And 'Ji An' is her first name which means, reaching, getting, finding and whatnot, comfort oneself. So Dong-hoon's last line that "Ji-an. Were you able to find some comfort for yourself?" is very meaningful. (Dong-hoon heard the meaning of her name 'Ji An' from Ji an herself, in EP. 5) I wanna my comment is helpful for foreigner to burst being impressed :)
"나의 아저씨" 정말 많은 드라마를 봤지만 아이유와 이지은의 존재를 확연히 가르는 분기점이며 모든 연기자들(이선균,이지아,손숙,고두심,송새벽,장기용,김영민,권나라,오나라등과 빛나는 조연진_사실 모두 주연급)이 빛나는 최고의 한국드라마이다. 무엇보다 가슴을 아리게 하는 OST또한 그러하다.개인적으로 "성실한 나라의 앨리스"의 이정현만큼 대단한 가수이자 배우는 단연 이지은뿐이라 단언한다. 본인은 너무 힘들었다지만 명작을 낳기 위한 산통이지 않았을까? 물론 작가나 연출,극본,조연,엑스트라,스텝 모두의 혼연일치된 집중도도 존중하며..개인적으로 기생충만큼의 감동을 준 작품이라 생각한다.
I just finished this drama last week. I have not been interested in it because of the negative rumor which this drama glorifies the eros between old man and young girl. But I realized that it was totally wrong once I started watching it. The story in this drama was not like that at all. Rather, it showed humane community and existential Korean social problems in details. I was surprised at the detailed storytelling style and psychological description.

Hi, I just finished the series and found your review, and would like to contribute small take away meaning like everyone here. Her name "Ji-An" (to find Comfort/Peace) reflects her parents most hoped and wished for her in this life. Before her and Park Dun-Hun crossed path, life was unrelentingly harsh, unforgiving, left her no choices but to do what she had to to survive. At the end of the series, Park Dun-Hun asked "Ji-An, have you found Comfort/Peace?" and she answered "Yes, I have" (Netflix translation). We can interpret her answer in two way - yes, given a chance in life, she was able to find what her parents wished for her the most, and maybe just as importantly, She was finally freed and afforded the chance to find herself (Comfort/Peace or "Ji-An")
For me Yes ( a plain answer) 2nd Yes means ( Yes because I'm with you now,Donghoon is her comfort) metaphor what else Jian most wanted in life isn't it Him? In Buddhism reaching comfort is the highest form of happiness? I think both of them have now found that happiness it's actually to be with each other because yes they may have all those things in the world now but what really does matter? Isn't it Love?
So glad that other people have enjoyed this show and cried there eyes out as I did, we all are going through life's many challenges easy to get the blues especially in 2020, 'My Mister" gives hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel of life.

I hope they get together and see where it goes. He may forgive his wife but will he be able to really feel the trust and closeness he once had before she crossed the line. Every one is different in this situation. Some will stay and some won't. It can be a deal breaker in marriage. They were together for over 20 years and it felt like it was more a business arrangement than a love affair. He didn't come up to her expectations and it suddenly cracked . My Mister is beyond doubt a masterwork. Incredibly well done. I want to add that for my money, taking Nothing away from My Mister, Mr. Sunshine is better. As close to perfection in its field of TV productions as is humanly possible. I do not want anyone to think My Mister is at all to be sneered at, I just want to point people who haven't seen it, and loved this show, to Mr. Sunshine. You may not agree it's better. You may not think it's even close to My Mister. Yet, if you do like My Mister, there is no doubt you will like Mr. Sunshine. It will bring tears.

이 드라마에 많이 공감되는 이유는 결혼후 가정을 책임지고 살아가는 한국 아버지들의 힘겨운 회사 생활과 가족은 가족대로 챙기고 가정도 챙기며 힘겹게 본인의 행복함은 포기한채 살아가는 아버지들의 삶과, 부모없는 가정의 힘겹게 살아가는 소녀가장의 모습은 우리 현실에 흔하지 않는 장면이며 우리주변에 많기 때문이 아닐까 생각해요 물론 어머니들도 힘들고요 고두심씨의 어머니 연기는 너무 현실같구요 ㅠㅠ 한국의 현실을 너무 잘표현한 드라마라 제 기억에 많이 드라마 였어요

Being an adult Show Bojack Horseman was Very careful of using the word 'Fuck' in their Show. in fact, they would use it only once per season and it would be a warranted one. Similarily in 'My Mister' you rarely see anyone "actually" crying. The characters are generally on a verge of breaking down, but more often than not they don't actually cry. Which is why every time a character DID cry in the show, it was gut-wrenching and highly Impactful. A stellar performance by the cast. Special shoutout to IU for bring Lee Jian to life.

너무 무겁고 슬프게 봐서 다시 볼 엄두가..감정 소모가 너무 심해 ㅜ
이분도 그 장면보면서 자기자신에게까지 감정을 숨기지는 못한다고 말했어요.
제 생각에는 그동안 많은 일들이 자기가 격은 일을 주위사람들이 슬퍼해 줬다가 자기는 맘껏 슬퍼하지 못하다가 아내와 아들이 유학간 집에 홀로 텅그러니 있으니 그동안 있었던 모든 슬픔이 자기한테 온걸 표현하는 것 같음 태생적으로 쓸쓸한 인간 3형제중 2째 한국사회의 모든 쓸쓸한 아저씨중 하나를 대변하는 캐릭터. 어른 같이 대처하던 동훈도 결국은 참아내지 못한다 아니 참지 않아도 된다 라고 드라마는 말해주고 있다고 봅니다

I actually felt uncomfortable in some scenes because it was so well made it felt too realistic. omg.. i loved it. 사실 저도 종종 편안하지 않은 느낌이 들었어요. 왜냐면 정말 잘 만들어져서 너무 진짜처럼 다가워서 그랬나봐요. 정말 좋은 드라마였어요!

What a journey it has been. This wasnt a show , it was an art and it will be with you forever and i think whoever watched is changed for ever. It was so relatable and for younger ppl like me it kind of gives us a peek whats in store for us and also teaches us the ripple effect of doing something good for someone. The show started out lee ji ahn wanting to harm Ajusshi but due to his kindness it slowly turn Lee Ji Ahn into his fierce protector and slowly the ripple effect affected them all the people in his life and there is more deep themes to it.If you find someone to talk to about this series , your conversation wouldnt end coz there is so many things they touched on so beautifully.
The writing and directing was .. i am speechless. Imagine trying to explain someone the plot of this drama , they will find it boring but if they watch it , they wouldnt know whats in store of them.
The actoes did such a good job 👌👌, they really showed what they can do with amazing script. Special shoutout goes to IU, she did such an phenomenal job, i didnt knw she was such a good actor becuase i hrd bad reviews about her acting 👏. And the ost, still makes me cry when i listen to it.

Exactly.....this show makes us introspect ourselves. Do we judge people around us, do we accept people as they are, do we empathize with their situation, do we keep the secrets, do we go the extra mile to help people in the small little ways we can, do we forgive people.....we may be pitiful ourselves, that doesn't restrict us to feel pity for someone else and support them.....right till they recover and stand strong. As much as Ji an respected Hoon by listening to him all the time and understanding the person he was, the loan shark guy changes after listening to the audio tapes. That was a striking lesson for all of us. Ji An did not bad mouth about him. But reasons why he was behaving as he does. The healing and strengthening words of Hoon to Hi An applies to him. The purity of thoughts and actions of Hoon and Ji An, rubs on every one around them. Let us try to be such positive people to our family, friends, colleagues and neighbors. ❤️

I was holding out for a long time to watch My Mister although I love IU because I didn't want to be sad or cry so much but finally watched and I am glad I did! This is very nice story and really make you think about how you live life and life is worth living if you keep trying. Great actors and actresses including IU of course!

After days of contimplating and reading some forum..the ending actually speaks volumes than what it show that "thank you" from donghoon can actually be a form of confession...before Jian runaway Donghoon had a conversation with his brothers..I can't say thank you to her because she would know what would it mean by how what (she actually means to him) that was an unspoken love gratitude that he was not able to convey to her but Jian actually did hear him in the car when he said (thank you)
Now the ending when he said "thank you" Jian actually got the msg..that's why she replied I'll buy you a dinner..Jian as always the aggressive know Donghoon, had just ask him for a date and we know this date will be different this time.

And 'Ji An' is her first name which means, reaching, getting, finding and whatnot, comfort oneself.
So Dong-hoon's last line that "Ji-an. Were you able to find some comfort for yourself?" is very meaningful.

I just finished this drama last week. I have not been interested in it because of the negative rumor which this drama glorifies the eros between old man and young girl. But I realized that it was totally wrong once I started watching it. The story in this drama was not like that at all. Rather, it showed humane community and existential Korean social problems in details. I was surprised at the detailed storytelling style and psychological description.

Hi, I just finished the series and found your review, and would like to contribute small take away meaning like everyone here. Her name "Ji-An" (to find Comfort/Peace) reflects her parents most hoped and wished for her in this life. Before her and Park Dun-Hun crossed path, life was unrelentingly harsh, unforgiving, left her no choices but to do what she had to to survive. At the end of the series, Park Dun-Hun asked "Ji-An, have you found Comfort/Peace?" and she answered "Yes, I have" (Netflix translation). We can interpret her answer in two way - yes, given a chance in life, she was able to find what her parents wished for her the most, and maybe just as importantly, She was finally freed and afforded the chance to find herself (Comfort/Peace or "Ji-An")
For me Yes ( a plain answer)
2nd Yes means ( Yes because I'm with you now,Donghoon is her comfort) metaphor what else Jian most wanted in life isn't it Him?
In Buddhism reaching comfort is the highest form of happiness?
I think both of them have now found that happiness it's actually to be with each other because yes they may have all those things in the world now but what really does matter? Isn't it Love?

Every one is different in this situation. Some will stay and some won't. It can be a deal breaker in marriage. They were together for over 20 years and it felt like it was more a business arrangement than a love affair.

My Mister is beyond doubt a masterwork. Incredibly well done. I want to add that for my money, taking Nothing away from My Mister, Mr. Sunshine is better. As close to perfection in its field of TV productions as is humanly possible. I do not want anyone to think My Mister is at all to be sneered at, I just want to point people who haven't seen it, and loved this show, to Mr. Sunshine. You may not agree it's better. You may not think it's even close to My Mister. Yet, if you do like My Mister, there is no doubt you will like Mr. Sunshine. It will bring tears.

The only made me watch this because of IU..At first ep I kind of sleepy but still I continue because of IU and when the story progress I tell you IU stand out in this show she did a goid job .This is her best role.From Scarlet Heart , HDL for me IU stand out in this drama she win an best actress in this.

가정을 책임지고 살아가는 한국 아버지들의
힘겨운 회사 생활과 가족은 가족대로 챙기고
가정도 챙기며 힘겹게 본인의 행복함은 포기한채
살아가는 아버지들의 삶과, 부모없는 가정의 힘겹게
살아가는 소녀가장의 모습은 우리 현실에
흔하지 않는 장면이며 우리주변에 많기 때문이 아닐까
생각해요 물론 어머니들도 힘들고요
고두심씨의 어머니 연기는 너무 현실같구요 ㅠㅠ
한국의 현실을 너무 잘표현한 드라마라
제 기억에 많이 드라마 였어요

주인공이 우는 장면은 아직도 운다기보다 처음으로 우는 장면이였어요 맨날 참다가 마지막에 토하듯이 감정을 쏟아내는 것 같아서 전 속이 시원하더라구요 ㅜㅠ

I think it's subjective for each individual but my best guess is, yes, love. 히히 고마워요. 연민이 무슨 뜻인지 알았는데, 이 드라마에서는 특히 더 고민을 했어요. 왜냐하면 이 드라마가 논란이 되고 있다는 걸 들었기 때문이에요. 아마 사람마다 다른 해석을 하겠지만, 저는 사랑이랑 비슷하다고 생각해요!

Being an adult Show Bojack Horseman was Very careful of using the word 'Fuck' in their Show. in fact, they would use it only once per season and it would be a warranted one.
Similarily in 'My Mister' you rarely see anyone "actually" crying. The characters are generally on a verge of breaking down, but more often than not they don't actually cry. Which is why every time a character DID cry in the show, it was gut-wrenching and highly Impactful. A stellar performance by the cast. Special shoutout to IU for bring Lee Jian to life.

This is really me... I was crying even after the scene that makes me cried was changed... Other reason I can't moved on from this drama is the ending that makes dong hun looks like he left alone(?). That's so hurt that I keep wishing for longer version.

살고있는 위치에 상관없이, '사람이 사람을 불쌍히 여긴다' 는게 얼마나 고귀한 일인지
