I agree with you, having a strong emotional basis with the person you are dating is the BEST! Surface level interactions while dating is mundane and becomes old! Now while I do agree with your sense of wanting to feel safe and get to know a person. But, I believe this kind of approach only works with people with small friend groups or purposely keeping a lower amount of "male" friends with this approach. From my experience, woman that have the dating practice of "friendship" first, usually tell a guy that is showing interest in them this. Signaling to us men that you don't want to rush into bed and take things slow, which is totally fine. If a guy is very into you and the guy WILL put the effort in. Men usually understand pretty quickly if the person they are seeing if a potential "mate" or not, which isn't your fault!! The guy needs to have the self control and behaviors that are in a way that make you feel safe and understood. The issue that I most commonly see with woman using this approach, is that when a woman has to many of these friends that "could" be a potential suiter. They are being pulled in multiple directions and are also being showered with attention/gifts. Which is NOT what friends do, that's what people who are romantically interested in you do. Then with multiple guys involved, they see this as competition and it can really make sticky situations cause these men were under the impression of woeing you and not investing time to be suddenly dropped of the face of earth. Not to mention that if a guy does like you, you open up to romantic manipulation from men, out of jealousy. Just be careful. :)

Hello and ım writing this here for not attention but advise, ım a 16yrs old boy in turkey and ı got harassede severly last year, my parents arguaing me stressing about those bullies , family problems, friends, grades, my father everything was ruined, my father started drinking and makin up scenarios like giving me a knife to go to school and my mother refused me to get me to a therapist while my brother made fun of me, ı could only get support from my bff, my therapist said ı had ptsd and gave me antidepperesants, my mother took me there for 2nd time but never again rn theres 2weeks left til school and my mother does everything to make me bleive and gaslight me into thinking im fine. I cant sleep, ı black out, selfharm and ı had Su!cad!al thoughts and even attempted. Still school is about to start and im gonna get Harassed again. Hey, that's a really tough spot to be in and I'm so sorry you have to go through such harsh things. Even though I'm no expert and because I don't know the full depth of the situation I can't give proper advice, I will say that you should definitely find a way to get real help. From how it sounds you seem to be in an incredibly toxic environment and you need to find a way to get out of there. If you're mom doesn't care that you're having issues and your dad is drinking then you should find people who actually care for your well being. I don't know what child protection laws and services there are in your country but I would highly suggest finding a way to contact any sort of child protection authorities to hopefully make the situation even a bit better, whether it be by putting you in a different school or home altogether. In any case, no matter what happens, you need to prioritize your mental health first and foremost. Do anything and everything you can to speak up, be heard, and make sure things change for the better. Make people listen and know that you're severely hurt, it doesn't matter who as long as at least one person is wiling to give you the help you need. For now though please hang in there. :( I know it's tough, but the fact that you're here just shows how strong of a person you are. Even if it doesn't feel like it, even if you feel miserable and feel as though life isn't worth living anymore, please know that it's very worth it if you can just hang in there and not give up. Yes, because 1 sided friendships exist, when one party is more invested than the other, if you can't handle it or find yourself trying to manipulate the other person into wanting you, then you should end it. Usually when it comes to friends, people don't get emotionally vulnerable with people and only talk to them out of convenience. If you are in the friendzone (meaning you want a relationship with that person), unfortunately you will have to deal with the pain, be patient, have no expectations, and do more than just a friend.

If it's destroying you, then you could admit it and that you need some time away from her to sort out things on your end and let those feels fade with distance. Even though it can be tricky to navigate, It really depends on how you go about it. Since jealousy and hatred are what you are tending to develop, you need to self reflect on what is making you feel this way and navigate your feelings in a more healthy way. To give you a hint. It's most likely your expectations, because you are doing more for her than she is doing for you, which is what makes it a one sided or nonmutual friendship.

it did not go well. i told them rather late. and as @djgulston said, they definitely change their mind and look at you platonic. but i must disagree on their 'different view'. they KNOW YOUR INTENTION. they always know. (well usually at least.) their feelings would just stop if you don't act it up.
after some time i tried. got rejected. tried to stay friends cause, well, i was way too deep in the friendship and it was rude of me specially after gaining the title of "best friend" right? after 3 years of torture i realized it's not healthy for me. gone full no contact. tried to develop myself. after 2 years, they missed me and we had a very fun 6 months. and the whole thing happened again lol.
honestly, it hurt a lot 2 years ago. but i got changed. a lot. i was very shy and awkward too. very intensely and unattractively i would say lol. very skinny. in those 2 years i hit the gym. gone boxing. built some self steem. and well got rejected again 6 months ago xd.

Same, except I've never been cheated on as I never had a serious relationship. Nearly 13 years of rejection never once a single success getting a date with anyone I'm interested, I gave up on love. The constant rejections got way too severely depressing. Unless a miracle decides to take place, I'm done looking for love.
Can't believe that not one single person has ever liked me back on a romantic level I had interest in. And it doesn't help that vice-versa is very much the same way. Seems like every girl who does have interest in me always happens to be someone I'm unfortunately not that into or attracted to.
@@rogerr.7228 I have lowered the bar to "I just want someone nice" and it's like it's to much to ask for. Idk I struggle alot with psychosis and trauma. So forming meaningful relationships is extremely difficult for me. It doesn't help that alot of women have also REALLY been hurt by men, so they see a guy that looks they way I do and assume I am a piece of shit. Don't get me wrong, I know from first hand experience how hard it is for women, dating is extremely dangerous for them, women are the vast majority of murder victims and so on...but being ugly doesn't make me a horrible person ya know. Keep your head up though, as long as you aren't hurting anyone someone will see that you have something to offer.

My pool of crushes, romantic partners, and friends has narrowed as I have matured. This has bothered me less as I have matured.
The only part of the video I related to was the No jealous part, because I actually experienced that too on April 25th when I asked friend if she minded if I dated other girls in the meantime while I was waiting for her to grow up. And she said that she didn’t really mind if I dated other girls. Although she said I could date other girls as well I still cared about her. For which I still do.
I stopped talking to this person who only like me as a friend and nothing more. I knew she's a waste of my time. So, without regret, I immediately cut her off. I just, for once, want somebody to be attracted me and not see me as a friend. It gets annoying within minutes. I just want to be loved.

Hello and ım writing this here for not attention but advise, ım a 16yrs old boy in turkey and ı got harassede severly last year, my parents arguaing me stressing about those bullies , family problems, friends, grades, my father everything was ruined, my father started drinking and makin up scenarios like giving me a knife to go to school and my mother refused me to get me to a therapist while my brother made fun of me, ı could only get support from my bff, my therapist said ı had ptsd and gave me antidepperesants, my mother took me there for 2nd time but never again rn theres 2weeks left til school and my mother does everything to make me bleive and gaslight me into thinking im fine. I cant sleep, ı black out, selfharm and ı had Su!cad!al thoughts and even attempted. Still school is about to start and im gonna get Harassed again. My brother and ppl at school is gonna make fun of me and my father will go too mad. He WILL kill them and get in jail. Seriously. I need help and ı cant get it at this point no one but myself is going to be the end of me please give me advise and dont say anything like dont stress out cause ı WILL. thank you for reading until here.
Hey, that's a really tough spot to be in and I'm so sorry you have to go through such harsh things. Even though I'm no expert and because I don't know the full depth of the situation I can't give proper advice, I will say that you should definitely find a way to get real help. From how it sounds you seem to be in an incredibly toxic environment and you need to find a way to get out of there. If you're mom doesn't care that you're having issues and your dad is drinking then you should find people who actually care for your well being. I don't know what child protection laws and services there are in your country but I would highly suggest finding a way to contact any sort of child protection authorities to hopefully make the situation even a bit better, whether it be by putting you in a different school or home altogether. In any case, no matter what happens, you need to prioritize your mental health first and foremost. Do anything and everything you can to speak up, be heard, and make sure things change for the better. Make people listen and know that you're severely hurt, it doesn't matter who as long as at least one person is wiling to give you the help you need.
For now though please hang in there. :( I know it's tough, but the fact that you're here just shows how strong of a person you are. Even if it doesn't feel like it, even if you feel miserable and feel as though life isn't worth living anymore, please know that it's very worth it if you can just hang in there and not give up. Yes, because 1 sided friendships exist, when one party is more invested than the other, if you can't handle it or find yourself trying to manipulate the other person into wanting you, then you should end it.
Usually when it comes to friends, people don't get emotionally vulnerable with people and only talk to them out of convenience.
If you are in the friendzone (meaning you want a relationship with that person), unfortunately you will have to deal with the pain, be patient, have no expectations, and do more than just a friend.

i always try to stay logical in emotional events, but i can't deny that underlying hatred I'm developing out of jealousy and i don't like to go to that path.
You can either end the friendship and explain ur pain and hope they understand, or try to work to reframe your mindset to something healthier. Loving someone can mean wanting to see them happy (I hope), so you can try to reframe your mind to something more akin to cheering someone on in life and wanting them to be happy relationship or not.
I stopped feeling jealousy once I worked more on being happy all by myself. It also helped my self esteem. It's hard work but possible. The girl I love is getting married, and I feel nothing but happiness to see a man who is very kind and caring as the one she chose. Love can be healthy, or toxic, and how we handle it usually tells us more about ourself than someone else.
If it's destroying you, then you could admit it and that you need some time away from her to sort out things on your end and let those feels fade with distance. Or if you feel you can make change in yourself instead, you can still be her friend but use the fact you care about her as motivation to work on your own jealousy

even though i want them to be happy, my own happiness is very important to me now and I don't want to sacrifice it for someone whom i may have no future. i don't know if this mindset is selfish or not, but i feel it's what i need at this moment in my life.

Even though it can be tricky to navigate, It really depends on how you go about it.
Since jealousy and hatred are what you are tending to develop, you need to self reflect on what is making you feel this way and navigate your feelings in a more healthy way.
To give you a hint. It's most likely your expectations, because you are doing more for her than she is doing for you, which is what makes it a one sided or nonmutual friendship.
