There's this girl that I rarely talk to, but she keeps making eye contact with me and acts shy and awkward around me, my gut feeling says she's into me, but I'm not sure. i have a cute story i’m sharing because yeah. so in sixth grade i met two good friends, let’s call them janet and rob (idk). rob is a social guy that’s always talking, joking, and has lots of friends. everyone loves rob. janet is much more quiet, shy, and sweet. she doesn’t open up to people easily but when she does, she’s an amazing person to be around, everyone that meets janet absolutely loves her. around march in sixth grade i noticed the two acting different around each other, i just thought they were becoming better friends (we’re all in the same friend group). eventually i picked up on the fact they liked each other by the way they acted. at the end of sixth grade i found out janet likes rob, and then a bit after summer started i found out rob liked her back. over the summer i hung out with rob and he found any excuse to talk about janet, it was very sweet. they have both established they like each other but aren’t ready to date, they’re so cute around each other though omfg.

i have a cute story i’m sharing because yeah. so in sixth grade i met two good friends, let’s call them janet and rob (idk). rob is a social guy that’s always talking, joking, and has lots of friends. everyone loves rob. janet is much more quiet, shy, and sweet. she doesn’t open up to people easily but when she does, she’s an amazing person to be around, everyone that meets janet absolutely loves her. around march in sixth grade i noticed the two acting different around each other, i just thought they were becoming better friends (we’re all in the same friend group). eventually i picked up on the fact they liked each other by the way they acted. at the end of sixth grade i found out janet likes rob, and then a bit after summer started i found out rob liked her back. over the summer i hung out with rob and he found any excuse to talk about janet, it was very sweet. they have both established they like each other but aren’t ready to date, they’re so cute around each other though omfg.

I've been in love with someone for nine years.
Right when I had the courage to talk to her, right when I blossomed, grew confidence, and became more of a social navigator, she got a boyfriend. That stupid, tricky little boyfriend. She's so sweet and sarcastic, and perfect wife material. But that's the problem. I can't tell what is "nice" and what is "I like you" anymore. I've been let down so many times. She's the only option I've never gone for (for obvious reasons). She's the girl who never left, but the one who got away. It is spirit-crushing. Energy-consuming. Bordering on obsession. Especially since we're friends. She hits me, she giggles at my jokes. But friends hit friends. Friends giggle at each other's jokes. You never can tell -- and that, the inability to tell, drives you nuts.

Then I would stop telling her the story of those songs, because we had arrived to the present. She'd say, "I never knew you were so obsessed with me." And I would laugh and say, " 'Obsessed?' " “Totally obsessed." And I'd look up at the ceiling, chuckle, and say, "Maybe a little."
