As a fire captains daughter, a firefighter sister, soon to be firefighter but right now a fire dispatcher sister, and a fire explorer sister... this truly touched my heart. I know of a couple of Firefighters that were friends with my dad who passed away. And the fact that a couple days after 9/11 my dad and a couple of other firefighters went to go help the wives of fallen firefighters, and whose husbands passed away. My dad and the firefighters mowed their yard and did all the things that there husbands would do. Thank You to All First Responders and God Bless You❤️❤️🚒🚒
Wow, what a powerful testimony to the love and support of the brotherhood. Blessings!
What your father did is what we used to call the "brotherhood" that's what it is all about.
I don't even have to know your name. A brother is a brother.
Your the next generation, now its your job to pass on that brotherhood. Not by description but by example.
@@longrifle. That's one of the many reasons why I love this job. We pretty much do almost everything together, running calls, training, cooking, housework, and playing the most ridiculous practical jokes on each other. But in both good and bad times, you can always depend on someone to have your 6.
Hello Kenna
Once a first responder always one I’m a volunteer firefighter
I'm a Firefighter and my fiance is a Paramedic. This song made me cry because I was on a call of a 3 story residential structure fire. I got trapped and thought I wasn't going to make it home that night. We all know the risks but every morning I hug my fiance and let her know how much I love her I case that day is my final call and I lose my life.
To all .t brothers and sisters out there. Continue fighting. We all have you back. My channel is dedicated to my family since that bad call. My fellow Firefighters didn't give up on me. They got me out so I could live with my fiance instead of leaving me to the flames. God bless you all and God bless America
Thank you for your service! We’re so glad you made it through. Please be safe out there!
@@BrotherJoeOfficial I hope you don't mind sir but I have your song in one of my videos on my channel. I'm hoping soon to be able to upload so GoPro footage of me at work.
We will always try our best to stay safe and get everyone home again. Country music keeps me and my fiance going and happy when we're off shif so thanks to every country singer out there. Definitely makes me and my partner happy
@@fdlife2192 I don’t mind at all, we wrote this song for you!
@@BrotherJoeOfficial thank you so much brother. My fiance sent me her singing this song after one of my close calls at work and I thank you so much for making it. I have a lot of respect for you
They played this song at the funeral of a fellow officer that was killed in the line of duty. It's an amazing song. Thank you all for recording it. RIP Officer Kenny Moats End of Watch 8/25/16.
GetOutnHunt we still remember Officer Moats and his lovely family and pray for Brittani regularly. 💔

I only thumbed this comment down because I hate the officer got killed :( sorry to hear that!
GetOutnHunt God bless you brother and your whole dept. I am a fellow officer from SC. We've lost a few over the years as well. it is never easy. stay safe and watch your six.
Great song. I have been a police officer for 40 years and have seen way more tragedy than I ever wanted to. One night thirty years ago my wife heard those sirens as my partner went to my house to take her to the hospital and tell her I had been shot in the chest. I cannot imagine being on that end of that night. I thank God every day that not only did I make it, but WE did too.
William Lewis -- WOW. What a story. We've heard lots of them, but this is such a wonderful testimony. Thank you a thousand times for your service. Man, we'd be lucky to shake your hand someday.
I will be happy to shake your hand. This song brings back memories, some of officers I have worked with who were not s lucky as me. God Bless you.
I would be proud to shake your hand. Your song brings memories out of not only my shooting, but those of friends, some of whom were not as blessed as me. I cannot explain it, but I still love being a police officer and plan to work a few more years. Once in a while you get to do something that really does help someone, that is the thing we all live for.
William Lewis thsnk God u made out alive
Wow I felt that in my bones....thank you for your commitment to serve your community and for being a true hero
This made me cry. Both my husband and I are Police Officers.
God protect/watch over both of you. Thank you both for stepping up to this honorable calling. STAY FROSTY OUT THERE!
Thank you for your service means allot I use to be a firefighter I have PTSD now so it's hard an they made me leave cause it got worse thank you for your service just know I've always got your 6
God bless both of you!! And I will be joining you in 5-6 year's
Thank you for your service.
Thank you

I am pretty sure those who thumbs down this, are selfish and have no idea the Danger we face each and everyday as firefighters/First Responders. We help those people to. Maybe someday they will understand, just pray for them.
Im a firefighter myself hearing this song touched my heart made me cry ty for who are any firefighters or emt on here who have served please to all please pray for all who served as firefighters and emt and police who save lives ty
Bryan Henderson Thank you for your service and for watching! Please be safe. We have new music coming out!
@@BrotherJoeOfficial OK I will be looking forward to hearing your new music I listen to this song every day because I love it
I am right there with you brother. I am a firefighter myself and this song hit close to home when my department lost a fellow firefighter. So I understand where you are coming from
My boyfriend said to me this is going to be our wedding song when we get married! He is a volunteer firefighter. He has been volunteering for over 20 years!❤️
This is our favorite song 😍
As a former Firefighter/Medic I thank you for writing this. This song truly says a lot of how many Emergency responders feel. The song really does touch a nerve with me. I have subscribed and shared.
Thank you so much for sharing. And more importantly, thank you for your sacrifices!
firescue20 There's no such thing as a former Firefighter/Medic once a Firefighter/Medic always a Firefighter/Medic. The title is earned never given.
firescue20 we have such a dangerous job but we do it because we don't want to see people hurting, if I can help someone I want to help them out
Neal Bundy, Yeah you pretty much nailed it!!
THANK YOU to all who protect us!!
I agree. When I was doing my firefighter recruit training one instructor use to say it's not something you do its something you are and it's hard to explain the feeling but it's true.
I'm a volunteer firefighter thank you for the song love it!

As a combat medic veteran and active duty firefighter/paramedic that going through a lot at this present time, this song made me cry but will keep me going. I want to thank you Brother Joe for this song and hopefully more to come. You moved this firefighter/paramedic and keep me going. THANK YOU!!!!!
We chose this song to play at my brother’s funeral. He was a firefighter/EMT. He went to work one day and never came home. He was killed in an accident in the line of duty. He was only 33. It really shows the reality of the professions of any first responder.
Julie Patterson - I’m so sorry for your loss, Julie. While it breaks our hearts when brothers and sisters are lost, we are grateful when families use our music to remember them. RIP all our first responders who died in the 9/11 and before and after that 👮🏻♀️👮🏻👩🏻🚒👨🏻🚒 (can't find a paramedic emoji but just imagine one) btw my family are all or have been first responders here in Northern Ireland and every time I see my uncle leave to go respond to a shout (what we call a emergency call in the fire service) I just say the our father and the fireman's prayer and hope he comes back safe and sound and my dad is a retired firefighter who served for 11 years and I'm proud of him and my whole family who work for the ambulance or fire service (don't have any in the police) and wish to become a firefighter like my dad and uncle
Wow! Northern Ireland representing! Thank you so much for all the sacrifices your family has made! Please be safe out there. Thank you for watching and don't forget to share this video on September 11th to honor our first responders!

Hello Jennifer
Im in EMS and This song brings knots to my throat ever time, its the exact words I want to say to my family but can never verbalize and being able to show them this song to them and express everything I’ve wanted to say to them is amazing.
Oh man, Oscar, this warms my heart. This came from the heart of a first responder family. I hope it brings much healing in times that are difficult. Much love, and be safe!
I just lost a friend that was an RN who was with the ambulance crew working on a patient and ended up dying on duty, leaving her son with her parents, and he said I know God needed her to take care of the people in heaven😪 this song will always remind me of her
Very good job, first responders should be recognized more often because what we do isn't easy

Wow, as a Firefighter/First Responder this song hits home. Each and every call could be our last. Thank you soooo much for cutting this song. It's AMAZING AND REALLY HITS HOME.
Feel the same way. Firefighter - EMR.
Thin red line - thin blue line
I can't stop listening to this. These lyrics hit a special part of my soul. You can't help but to stop what you're doing and let it sink in that these are the men and women that keep us safe 24/7, and not because they have to. They deserve a lot more love and respect than they receive. I want to be a cop, and I'm already extremely grateful for these beautiful lyrics.
REM679 you have the heart of a lion. Thank you for watching, and in all things, be safe.
So right cant stop listening. Thank to all who serve and protect us from whatever.

This is my #1 favorite songs now. I have met some amazing ppl in law enforcement this past year. One in particular is the most amazing, respectful deputies that I know. He treats everyone with respect, he always looks at the positive in all situations. He never boast, about himself, he isn't puffed up with pride, he is just an amazing deputy. I have never worried about another person the way I worry abt him. I know that God will take care of him, bc I pray, and I believe in prayer. I pray for all of our law enforcement. They put there lives on the line in a way that I know I wouldn't do for ppl that are so ungrateful. I don't understand why so many want to go against our officers. They serve so many that are underserving, and they protect those that do not deserve there protection. They started out believing in what they do, they go out and see the breakdown in society in a way that most of us could not begin to imagine. I would have a officers back anyday. I support what they do when times are good, and when times are not so good. They run to the bullets flying, not away from them. That my friends is to respected. To all of the officers, Thank you very much for your service. Please never give up on the good that you are doing. Change the world, but do not let the world change you.
Tonya McBryar we should be friends.... well said, love! We would love to shake your hand someday and that of your special deputy. Thank you for watching and contributing such a wonderful comment to our thread :)

A Thousand Miles Beautiful tribute to our first responders. I ran across this song and I cried my eyes out. My husband and I are no strangers to putting our lives on the line. He and I were former US Army. My husband is looking into being a police officer. He's in school for Criminal Justice so realizing the danger he's going to be in has been a eye opener. I am praying to God that he stays safe In all he does. God Bless You both for your beautiful tribute
True beauty falls on deaf ears...people dont have heart or soul anymore...i cant stop crying ...from joy
I grew up rough always on wrong side of law but i always wanted a badge...life would be different for me...i still feel like they are my brothers and sister's true good souls

When i hear sirens I start praying... There's no time to worry. My hometown is tiny and I started volunteering with the emergency services when I was 14 years old. We all knew each other and even though we were on separate teams it felt like we were one big family.
Every time I hear sirens I never know who they are going to help or who is on the job, on the truck or at the office, it could be someone I know or a stranger. I will keep praying til my dying breath for emergency services / first responders everywhere, for the staff at the doctors, hospitals and for the families.
Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot

Dear A Thousand Miles,My father, Fire Captain Pete Carver went to heaven in 1983 at the age of 58. Growing up I spent a lot of my time at the fire station and his fellow fire fighters told me that they thought I would become a fire fighter also. When I was in junior high school my father's lungs collapsed. He recovered and went back to work. Because of my father I went into health care as a Respiratory Therapist in 1977 at the hospital that saved my father's life. I am now going into forty years as a therapist.Thank you very much for recognizing my father!Rick Carver
Rick Carver thank you both for your service!
@Brother Joe, FINALLY a REAL and original country song with a noble message and story. Not about some chick or beer or party or bar as the rest of the modern pop era.
These are the Hero's that I've looked up to since I was 2 years old. My 1st hero was my dad. A retired DETROIT Police Officer of 40 years. He instilled the love and respect that I have to this day for our Law Enforcement. And, I've also been taught if there's ever a an officer in trouble. I'll be right there risking my life to save theirs.
Officers I have your 6.
as a volunteer, i find this song has more special meaning

I taught the USAF Parajumpers, the Paramedics in New Orleans, the EMTs in New ORleans and was a part time flight nurse, was involved with the police department as well as worked the ER at Charity Hospital in New ORleans. I have lived the fear that those I have learned to love and respect may not be home again...ever...I understand this...and ER Nurses and ER DRs also put their life on the line in such volatile environments..running to the trauma, the tragedy to help in any way they can as well. I love all of our EMS, Police, Fire fighters, NUrses Paramedics EMTs and ER DRs everywhere and am thankful for what they do...this also includes our helicopter pilots and fixed wing pilots for EMS. Thank you everywhere.!!!!!

A Thousand Miles was that awesome video in North Carolina
Thank you for honouring the ones in uniform I can't wait to serve and protect in just 3 years. This song is definitely keeping me going with my dream of one day becoming a k9 officer . I am sad that people forget not just soldiers put their lives on the line. Thank you for remembering our officers who never got to go home after a shift on their final day alive.
Service dog Nugget when you make your dream come true, be safe, and know that we got your 6. Much love!

Did you make your dream a reality?
Did your dream come true? I'm in the middle of trying to make mine a reality, just finishing EMT school then I'll be interviewing with my local fire department.
Who is in 2020 listening to this and it gives you hope. I want to be a law enforcement officer and I’ve been getting hate for it but then I listen to this and remember what the job is for. So thank you first responders. Keep going even if you want to give up ! 💙🖤
As a granddaughter of a police officer and friends with a department of good people on the fire, police and ems EMT I'm loving this song. You have a fan for life.

Thank you for this song...It means a lot to know I may not come back home when I run out to go help someone as a firefighter....that someone took the time to write a song that focuses on the nature of the job of first responders....thank you so very much.
Fire Marshal Thank YOU so much for your sacrifices. My wife’s heart was poured out on the pages as we wrote this song. She lived this life with her late husband.
@@BrotherJoeOfficial No need to thank me..seriously..it's all in a days work. Even though I know running out that door might mean I may not come back through it. I do it because like so many of my brothers and sisters in the civil service...we don't want to see the world burn but put it back together instead.
The 300 people who disliked this. Don't know what love and passion is. These people are first responders and they are passionate about what they do. They will always help you. They want to help you wherever you are and whatever you're doing.
#Truth Bomb - We aren't worried about that haters. We are here for the heroes.
wow that's a good song as a Volunteer Firefighter I thank you for this song... my uncle had a Hart attack wile in a fire he's okay now but he can't do it anymore cus he had a quadruple bypass
Nathan Nelly it's okay he still gets to drive the trucks and work an accident every once in awhile
yea he and his wife are actually the ones who helped inspire my dream of being a firefighter and now he has his son to
well I am one now so just keep wanting it
Cody, thank you for being a part of this movement. We want to let all first responders know that we appreciate them. Thank you for your service!
Also, please thank your uncle for us. Hope he's healing up nicely.
My dad is a Police Officer of 35 years and has been through it all and has had to bury two of his friends that were killed in the line of duty. Thank You for this! Absolutely AMAZING and Beautiful song!! My dad is a Police Officer here in LaGrange Georgia and has been a Lieutenant for the City Of LaGrange Police Department for 20 years and has worked at that Department for 30 years and another 5-7 years at various other agencies. My mother is a retired Paramedic/Firefighter for the Columbus Fire Department of 20 years and was shot in the line of duty in 1994 on a 911 Call for a domestic violence call that turned into a standoff that lasted 8-10 hours and left her with four bullet holes. The man high on meth and drunk opened fire with an AR15 and four of those rounds fired from that weapon hit the ambulance she was sitting in and riddled her rig with 100+ rounds and she was hit four times. She survived and was pinned down with her young new partner and a female Columbus police officer and a Off duty male police officer that lived in the neighborhood that came in his boxers and white shirt and patrol boots and pulled her from the driver seat and was all being shot at for 5 hours before being able to get over backyard fences to an awaiting ambulance and police. This song is truly spine tingling to listen to and I was truly in tears watching it. Thank You from The Olson Family!! - LaGrange, Troup County Georgia.
Cody Olson wow what a testimony of bravery and perseverance. Your family is amazing and we want to meet y'all someday! Can we make it happen? ❤️❤️❤️ Thank You!

Granddaughter of a 30 plus year firefighter from Sydney Nova Scotia Canada, who raised 4 children alone as a single father after his wife left when his youngest was 5 years old, this makes me think of him he retired as Captain in 1994 and died in 2005, I don't remember him to well because I was only 7, but my father (his second youngest) always tells us stories about him, like one night there was a fire in a house and a (heavier)woman was trapped on the second floor and he told her to jump and that he would catch her and he did, for years after she would send him letters, this is how I choose to remember him, the strong single father that would do anything to save anyone no matter the risk to him self, not the sick older man that I remember, but the one from my fathers stories. RIP Papa.
In memory of Captain John MacCormack
One of the greatest first responders tributes I have ever heard in my life.

I was a wildland firefighter and law enforcement officer. I didn't realize how much it cost me over the years as I missed my sons grow up. I'm desensitized to the responses. It's a loss to me and my family. Great song.
