    Again, your tutorial is more complete for the subject matter than most others I find. I just searched on my home page for "text on a path" and the tutorial I watched had some info but did not have the info I was looking for. I came to your channel with the same search and this video not only had what I was looking for, but extra tips as well in about the same length video as the other. In the future I will come here first with my Affinity queries and I know I'll get the most complete info. Thank you!

    Can you also check whether the letters on the circle are not oriented towards the center but are all perpendicular?

    • @TechnicallyTrent

      Hi, thanks for the question! Currently, I do not know of a way to do this. I thought maybe you could rotate each letter separately, but that doesn't seem to be available either:
      forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28513-single-glyph-rotationflipping-in-text/page/2/
      You may need to make each letter separately and then manually rotate it while using your circle as a guide. Hope this helps!

    Thank you, Trent! This was great. I'm putting a request in for a video on the Affinity Style Picker. I'm having the hardest time getting it to work. I've watched a few different videos on it. So far I can't get it to work.

    Thank you for the video.... very helpful. Do you have any videos about how to space numbers evenly around a circle? I tried with the tips in this video but was unable to get the spacing without distortion.

      Hi Karen, glad it was helpful! I don't have a video on that exact topic. Are you trying to make a clock face? I've done that in the past. I had to put the numbers in place manually for best results. You could try starting with a template for clock faces (you can find them on Google images) and then putting your own numbers on top of them. Hope this helps!

      @@TechnicallyTrentThanks for your reply! I was making a habit wheel tracker. I did end up finding a way to do it but I thought there would be something in affinity that would make it easy 🙂

    Does it work differently in the iPad version? I've tried many times, but it doesn't seem to work. By the way, it may be great to tackle the main differences between the desktop and the iPad versions. It could be really frustrating or drive you nuts if you only rely on the iPad.
    Thank you so much for your awesome tutorial, videos, and keep up with the great work.👍

      Hi @amaden.8940! I'm not quite sure how it works on the iPad version. Thanks for the suggestion...it is on my todo list to make more iPad content.

    Trent, where can I find Scale object by a percentage? I can only find Transform which is flip, up down left right rotate and shear etc and I can do the usual (but for me a bit clumsy) click and drag the object to resize it (I always forget what constraint key to use to get object to resize up or down correctly) but nowhere can I find a simple scale by percentage palette tool? Is it hidden somewhere or just not been put in yet?

    • @TechnicallyTrent
      @TechnicallyTrent  Год назад

      Hi RunForrestRun!
      Scaling is possible but it is hard to find at first. You can enable the Transform menu, which is available in Window -> Transform. From there, you can append to the W and H field to say how much you want to scale it such as "* 150%" (no quotes). You can link the W and H fields to scale evenly in all directions.
      So for example, if the W field says "10 in", you can make it say "10 in * 150%" and then hit enter and it will scale by 150%. You can also say "10 in * 2" to make it twice as big.
      Hope this helps!

    HOW TO PUT TEXT ON A VERTICAL PATH AND VERTICAL TEXT

    • @TechnicallyTrent
      @TechnicallyTrent  5 месяцев назад +3

      Hi @mitchhoneysett7674! Currently, if you want to make text go vertical like this:
      T
      E
      S
      T
      ...it is a bit of a hack. You can use the frame text tool, type your word, and then drag the frame-text tool so it is very narrow. That will wrap your text letter by letter. Then you can use the paragraph options to center it.
      Hope this helps! I'll try to make a short video on this soon.
