You’re recoil sensitive. Your grip was also wrong and you were limp wristing instead of letting it transfer to your elbow fulcrum. But these are carry guns shoot little carry every day. It is light for the carry aspect. It is not a range toy.

i don't think you gave this gun a chance. You should have tried mistly 38 special with an occasional 357 mag cartridge. You can train with 38 as lonsg as you also use 357 sparingly .
This gun fills a great niche. Its small enough to carry but also has great power and capacity . Its competitive with a semi automatic in my opinion .
I really don;t think going to the range and shooting 100 rounds of 357 mag is what this gun is for . Its a self defense weapon that has the reliability of a handgun .

This is a high end Smith and Wesson, you don't need me to tell you that it is a quality revolver. My channel is just to show some the quirks of actually using many of these items at a range. If you need this for defense or something to save you life, then it is perfect. It is, however, very unpleasant to shoot in the caliber that it is chambered.

@@RattlesnakeDefense No. You should change the grips and use lower power ammo . The great thing about this revolver is you can use 38 or lower power 357.
Its not you . Its you trying to be beastmode and shoot full power 357 with wooden grips . This is not a range toy its a self defense weapon and you can train with 38 and occasionally shoot 357 .
IRL if you needed this to save your life if you have shot 357 before the adrenaline will absorb any issues with this hand cannon .

Improve your grip. Pullups, pushups, forearm/grip strength training will help you handle recoil better.
The utility of it is putting into an attackers side and pulling the trigger. The wound channel will be humongous and mostly cauterized. That will dissuade most attackers.

I understand where you are coming from in your critiques, however it is a concealable .357 option with 8 rounds. Sure it hurts your hands, but you could shoot .38 special if that helps boost your self-esteem. It is meant to be an over-priced carry gun, not necessarily a range toy. In a self defense shooting you won't even know the webbing is torn on your hand until well after the incident is over. I give the revolver a 6.8 out of 10 overall.

The fact is that I have fired 45/70 derringers repeatedly, something that I will post soon. Something about this grip was biting into my thumb. I work with firearms every day, and have for 20 years, but this is the most painful pistol to shoot that I have experienced. I didn't record it, but the rubber grips that came with this revolver were much easier to control, still heavy on the recoil, but with out the trying to rip my thumb off.

I will only speak to what I have seen. You can extrapolate from that what you wish.
But I have seen a 10 year old kid; average size kid, Shoot one handed an entire clip of 10mm rounds from a Glock 20 SF , dump the mag , reload , rack and change hands only to dump the next clip into his target.
After which he had a good size grin, both for the joy of shooting and because of the decent size grouping on the target.
Now I say all this because that kid did not complain about the recoil, and yes the Glock 20 is heavier and has a heavier slide than your average Glock.
    Yet my point is this.
If a 10_year old can shoot those rounds one handed and not complain about any pain or stress to his wrist or arm.
Why is a grown man with a two handed grip on the revolver who appears to be well over 200 lbs whimpering about his wrists ?
And that weapon is designed for close encounter situations .
Seems pretty common sense to me, but to each his own.

    • @RattlesnakeDefense
      @RattlesnakeDefense  11 месяцев назад +1

First of all, there is no reason to be condescending. Second, the grips put the full force of the recoil on my thumb, and not my palm as it should. Third, I have shot the 45-70 derringers that hurt less than this one. It was a loaner, and after a change to the rubber grips, it was much easier to shoot. There are plenty of people who watch this video and jump in the comments and start talking crap. I have been running a gun store for 20 years, I have no need for your ego. I do this ten hours a day, five days a week and I can only report to what I honestly feel about a firearm. If you think I am wrong, the go buy one, load with full power 357 and make your own video.
