Nice reaction... Like the fact you had my same 'feeling' about solo evocating a cry, a sound scratching your soul deeply.

Thanks for your lovely reaction! Unfortunately I can’t find any other reaction from you on a Måneskin song ☹️ while they have made so many lovely and different songs! Maybe you can check some more, for instance their latest 2 songs The Driver or Valentine? That would be nice!

Thank you. For real. I find Thomas's solo stunning. Mind you, I've always admired Thomas and I've always expected great things from him. The thing I appreciate most about him is the fact that he never tried to overdo it, always respecting what they were playing without upsetting the basic feeling. Now he's just 21 years old, certainly not a virtuoso (thank God), but inside he has the music and the respect for it. Who wrote the song? What we know is that they always stated that they would never play anything not composed by them (apart from covers), 4 American producers also sign it, that Damiano wrote the lyrics while they were in LA (almost for 4 months), his girlfriend was sick in Rome, his parents couldn't move, he felt alone and thought : "What would happen if something suddenly happened to me? If I could never see and never talk to them again?"

Thanks for that description and I agree there's so much soul in all 4 of their styles!

Good evening, the story of Maneskin continues. It seems to me that in the coffin there is "Marlena".
The cover of the new album that will be released in January 2023 shows "Marlena" flying away and abandoning them to their future.

Nobody did expect that kind of solo 😯. But the special thing is not that Thomas used the whammy pedal, but the ability to put it in the solo to express the feeling that is in the song inside.

I love all about this song but the best for me is the guitar solo. Thomas is the youngest of them but I truly think is the musical soul of the band. ❤

Thank you for a fantastic reaction! I get chills every time I hear the guitar solo! It just enhances all the pain and anguish from the lyrics and Damianos vocals. It’s so good and I love the way you described how Damiano is singing through the pain. I love ALL that they do and in English it’s different and it should be as it’s in English lol but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until I heard your take on it. It makes a lot of sense to me anyways. Maneskin is just amazing and I’m so excited for them. They’ve worked extremely hard and continue to work hard to stay true to themselves especially now when they have so many people I’m sure trying to direct them. Holding onto your identity as you get older is absolutely one of the harder things in life and than to do it with the music industry and fame I can’t even imagine…. But they are a rare breed and I’ve gone on a tangent lol
They are amazing and your reaction was awesome! Thank you ❤

Beautiful reaction, very sensitive. The way Maneskin delivery their song it’s very clear.. they always describe how their are feeling in a particular period of their life. For each song there’s a reason and the music described with the lirics their state of mind. So Mammamia very joking, Dance on Gasoline, very angry, Supermodel very 90’s, this one very American-English ballad because Damiano felt the loneliness in Las Angeles( reminds me Bryan Adams) This single for me has too many chorus on repeat, beautiful but sounds not new. The guitar solo deserve a special mention because this is the real Maneskin’s Stamp and magically the songs became fabulous.

I agree Florence, for me, the solo makes this song Maneskin. It's almost too generic in some ways, but in other ways it suits his voice perfectly.
I can't stop listening to it either!

So far the best thing the American producers have done for Damiano is persuading him to curb the raspiness in his voice that after Eurovision fame had gone rather out of control. Also, for the first time he sounds as good and natural singing in English as when he sings in Italian. Perfectly at ease, actually. As for the song itself, musically-wise they can bring something more original to the table. They shouldn't let the co-writing American team interfere with their creative process.

  • @silviascaramagli648

Damiano is the liryc writer. For the music they worked with two American songwriters. Yep the guitar sound is in that way to remind someone who cries or scream. In fact if you watch the original video it’s all about death…

A minority opinion for sure. I love the emotion, and the song is very personal for me, simple but brilliant.

    • @DivergentReactions
      @DivergentReactions  Год назад +9

Interesting take! By that logic they sold out when they wrote zitti e buoni and focused on Eurovision because their roots were more in indie rock at first. but I don't believe that personally, nor do I believe selling out is actually a thing.
As for the song itself, it's a fair opinion. I wasn't a fan of Supermodel, personally I think that's their weakest song. So not liking a song is definitely valid!
