No one will ever get what they expect from Maneskin, but always something different. It is impossible to catalog them. Irreverent, passionate, punk, romantic, scandalous, etc... Feel free to choose at random, the surprise will always be pleasant. In my opinion, of course.

Damiano a moment before dying of drowning leaves his body to go to his funeral to tell the people he loves what he was unable to say and then return to that moment. This is my interpretation of the video based also on Damiano's words regarding the lyrics.
You will realise that Maneskin's songs are always 'open' because everyone can tie them to their own life experience.
I tied it to the death of my father who left us due to a sudden heart attack and I wished I had the time to be able to tell him what I wasn't able to.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss and I understand what you are getting at. This song is very relatable to a ton of people, that I am sure of. I love your perspective on it though, never thought of it that way and I am glad you pointed that out. Be well!

His voice is super unique due to a bifurcation of his vocal cords, a small hole(malformation) in them that allows the air to pass thru in that raspy sound/ tone Love ALL of the tallent of each band member.

I love people discovering Maneskin for the first time, because every song is a surprise. And no, there's nothing Damiano can't do! He's said in interviews that the Loneliest was like a goodbye letter from the perspective of a person who's leaving/dying. It was written overseas during a rough moment for him during their tour, where he kept thinking about the possibility of never coming back home to his loved ones.
You should check out the MV for I Wanna Be Your Slave or La Paura del Buio (live) to see what else they can do!

Great song and great reaction. I saw a lot of interpretations and explaining of the songs in the comments but heres the full story coming from Damiano: i was in la watching peaky blinders and i was alone at the time, my gf was not living w me so i basically wrote a song about the (cant remember his name) main character of the show and the farewell to his lover and what would i say to my loved ones if i would leave them tonight....
Couldn't quote him word by word especially because i forgot the main characters name but that was what he said in an interview

@@DaneBramageROCKS The thing with Damiano is that he writes in a very personal way, based on his experience, as a way to process emotions- but then, there's those little details and ideas sometimes, that come for example from some random show or movie. I just find the contrast quite funny.
Like here: they've been touring for months and he's always been saying that it's a very hard lifestyle for him, that he doesn't really deal well with being away from home for so long etc. His girlfriend was supposed to come visit but she fell ill. So it was basically just taking toll on him and his mind started swirling, thinking that if something bad happened, like a plane crash or an accident, he wouldn't even have the chance to speak with the people he loved. And since he was watching Peaky Blinders, the idea for a love letter before death came up.
Anyway, thanks for the reaction! Always waiting for more Måneskin!

@@leno_o17 Yeah and I am catching onto that and this is one thing that fascinates me about this group. Speaking of live, even though he seems to struggle on the road, their stage presence is AMAZING. If he is hurting, you can't tell. Perhaps it's him being up there with his band mates and friends that helps. Thank you so much, more to come.

I am here for all the Måneskin, i completely enjoy watching new people discover them and their amazing songs/talent. I have to agree their Italian songs are really where they shine, but Damiano is really growing with his English lyrics. Fans used to say the English songs are the fun, wild dancy songs, but the Italian is where they get deep and emotional. The lyrics are super important, so if you start reviewing the Italian songs you MUST include a lyric review or you will get comments.

This song, according to the band themselves, is a farewell note, a will from the lyrical hero to the one (s)he loved the most. It`s not about the loss of a girlfriend or wife.
