Great reaction and yes, you're right: that guitar solo is perfect for this song. but it is not an exception. Try listening to the solo of "Le parole lontane" or "For your love" or "Coraline". The problem, with the English speaking people (not the fans) is that they don't know that Maneskin were still teenagers when they became famous in Italy and they reached the peak of their success with ballads. Not only that, but above all. They have also always written in English but, when they had to communicate something important with songs, they did so in Italian, reaching the heights of true poetry. Even with a good knowledge of English, Damiano was not able to do the same thing in this language at first. Now, fortunately, he is gaining courage.

You're one of the first reactors I've seen that got the meaning behind this song perfectly in the first listen, both the lyrics and the amazing guitar solo. It's like the guitar is wailing out all the singer's grief. Damiano (singer and lyricist) was going through some rough moments during one of their tours, so he wrote this song as a way to tell his loved ones what he wished he could have said, in case he never made it home. Ironically, it did sort of work, as Damiano's grandfather passed while he was away on tour and this was the last song he'd heard from them.

( Thomas è il chitarrista 😉 e ha poco più di 20 anni 😱 ... ) Damiano ( il cantante ) ha scritto questa canzone a Los Angeles mentre erano lì per lavorare al nuovo album del gruppo ... Si sentiva solo e ha pensato " se dovessi morire adesso qui lontano e da solo la mia famiglia e i miei amici sanno quanto io li amo ? " E così ha scritto questa canzone come se fosse una lettera di addio ai suoi cari ... Il video racconta il funerale di Damiano ... Lui muore annegando e non ha detto addio a nessuno così torna al suo funerale ( ma all'inizio non lo sa che e il suo ) poi ricorda la sua morte ( sputa l'acqua dai polmoni ) e legge la lettera di addio ( il foglio in bocca simboleggia le parole mai dette ) poi viene riconosciuto da tutti che però scappano terrorizzati ... Restano solo i veri amici ( gli altri ragazzi del gruppo ) che vogliono tenerlo con loro ma lui sa che non può restare e quindi torna nella tomba che e piena di acqua ( le lacrime versate per lui 😭 ) ... Questa canzone adesso è molto straziante per Damiano perché dopo poco tempo dall'uscita della canzone ha perso il suo adorato nonno 😭 proprio mentre stava partendo per il tour in Mexico e la sua famiglia a fatto suonare questa canzone al funerale 😭 ... In quel concerto di Mexico city Damiano ha pianto mentre cantava la canzone e ha fatto molta fatica a finirla 😭😩💔 .

Here we are dealing with a video and a song that have to be interpreted very well (by the way, a real masterpiece both song and video), because they have a meaning that perhaps at first not everyone can understand. Most of Måneskin's songs have deep meaning and need to be interpreted. PS: Even the songs in Italian it would always be advisable to read a translation to understand the meaning of the song and not maybe just listen to the music.
You can! I think it's totally suiting. The lyrics talk about loosing someone, not specified in what way. And actually...he wrote it while feeling homesick after months on the tour, and specifically because his girlfriend couldn't come visit. The whole album is filled with songs about relationship troubles, breakups etc. And they did ultimately break up months later...
