Clearly their best English language song. Very emotional and relatable. Not quite up to their best Italian ballads, but close. A great Pop Rock ballad! It will garner them some more fans. Thanks for the comments! All on point. For me the song is about loss and longing, and gets at my emotions very quickly.

I'm an American who doesn't know Italian so you might want to take my opinion with a grain of salt. 😏 I've been very eager to hear a love song/ballad from them in English so my brain can take it all in at once. But I can't imagine anyone thinking a ballad in English is anywhere as beautiful as one on Italian. Sadly, the U.S. radio industry is awful and panders to those of us who only want to hear English, which is a shame. I appreciate everything they do in English so I don't have to go to Google translate 😏, but even I want to hear that particular spark of their Italian songs, especially the ballads. (Who knows, maybe the Italian ballads are more stirring to me *because* all I have to go on is the expression in the instruments and Damiano's voice, and my mind just hears that. Bravi. Un applauso in più al chitarrista che ha suonato la parte solistica usando, in alcune parti, la tecnica tipica del mandolino. Un "assolo" molto italiano. Di nuovo complimenti ai ragazzi. I agree with you the guitar solo is very nice especially in the last part it seems that the guitar joins the atmosphere of the song as if it was crying too. I think, even if the song is sad, at the end it gives the hope that true love is eternal and tells us that in the end all that remains of our life is not the money, the success, the things we bought, but only the love we gave, relationships we had......Maybe they wrote this song for Victoria who lost her mother right at the beginning of her musical career when they were at Xfactor

Live version from the concert in London London 06/10/22 is even better than the studio edit. Thomas plays the first verse of the song with an e-bow, and the guitar is more present, with a more crunch sound.
Thank you, your reaction are always spot on! 🥰 I would recommend checking (and maybe reacting to 😉) Måneskin's new songs in Italian, especially Mark Chapman and Il Dono Della Vita, they are just beautiful. Love from Italy 💚🤍❤
Hi Rachel this song is wonderful, almost majestic. Obviously is radio-friendly for american and global audience (on the other hand is produced with Max Martin), i think you can realize it bc is basically a 4 chords song and starts with the chorus (very different from coraline e torna a casa that have a lot of chords and start very slowly): By the way it hits hard with the solo of thomas and liyrics by damiano, a great ballad songwriter. Thanks you for coming back to maneskin reaction, i really missed. :)

❤ thank you! I totally agree on the guitar solo I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to it so far but every time is goosebumps and tears. The whole song is restrained as you said, until that point, like when you suffer but you try to be strong when people is around you and then you burst into tears when you’re alone and you feel desperate. The structure of the song serves the meaning, as in poetry, or literature in general, when it’s well done. I haven’t paid enough attention to the bass so far so thank you for pointing it out!!

Ciao Rachel, greetings from Italy
6:02 I like to call that "tremolo" or "vibrato" of Thomas *"mandolin fx"* (effect) because the sound obtained is very close to traditional Italian popular music, in particular that of Southern Italy, obviously in this case made with an electric guitar and not with a mandolin 🙂🙂
tbh i love this bc it feels more authentic to some of their best italian songs - emotional, something that rips at your insides without forgiveness. i hop they do more italian songs whenever they do a new full album, but i wont mind english songs as much if they do it with as much emotion as they did here. damiano's voice excells at emotional singing and i want to here more of that from him tbh

Hi Rachel, I was really looking forward to your reaction to this song! That's my favourite Måneskin's song in English so far. Its best part is the guitar solo. I would also like them to return to sing in Italian (I mean new songs) 😍
This tune is totally amazing and deep emotional. I also like so much your analysis, reactions and sensibility about their music. Your voice and accent is very nice. Thank you so much for sharing it. Take care enjoy music and life. Good luck.
Thomas is using the Digitec Whammy for that guitar solo, if anyone is interested in that. I've heard more virtuoso solos (Slash in the song November Rain by Guns n' Roses) but this one fits well to the song, is very dramatic. Vocals kick ass as always and the rest of the band is very solid. Well done guys!
People is so accustomed to think that music is done for a certain target that they cannot think that a song can just be an artistic work made just to express feelings
Lovely reaction as usual. I feel when we get a new English song, we miss the Italian one, when we get the next Italian song we will ask for another English song. I am guessing that's the nature of this very original band and I really hope they will keep it that way.
I get that. Their sound was somehow raw. It radiated so much e energy it blew your mind. Now they are sort of polishing and elaborating their sound. Exploring. I guess they are growing up and change is part of the process. Still it is great to look at them as they flow.
This song is not the classic ballad we often hear, but an original pop symphonic melodrama listened only by an Italian band called Maneskin. THE LONELIEST is a masterpiece.
I totally agree with you! I'm scared that they will lean too much to the "american music", both in style and language... But I hope that this new album will get them a solid fanbase in the US so that they can focus more on their music and less on "successo"
It is therefore a single detail, born in a difficult moment: the band away from home and its affections managed to convey its own mood through these words. Apparently it would seem a sad song but, in reality, conceals a profound meaning of love. I'll explain how the song was born and then the video briefly ... Damiano wrote this song when he was in Los Angeles for the new record and felt alone ... He thought "but if I had to die now Does my family know how much I loved them?" And so in one night he wrote the song as if it were a farewell letter ... The video tells this ... Damiano dies suddenly ( perhaps drowning ) without being able to say goodbye to anyone so yes he reincarnates and goes back to his funeral ( but he doesn't know it because he doesn't remember ) ... Then it starts to rain and everything comes back to him and then he reads the farewell letter ( the paper that comes out of his mouth are the unsaid words ) .. At that point everyone recognizes him and runs away in terror except the friends of the band.
When you said that this song has “radiohead-esque” chords it popped immediately into my mind which song it reminds me of: Creep by radiohead, the chord progression in the chorus is very similar between both songs
Ciao, first of all excuse my english. I really appreciate your comments and reactions. My thought is that the Maneskin are born Mainstream comparable to Aerosmith or Inxs. Their path (I start from 2020) was Power Ballad (Twenty Years) Teatro d'Ira 1 (much more Rock) Summer song (Mammamia) then there had to be Teatro d'Ira 2 but the joust started with Beggin then with Gasoline and If I can Dream and so they had to upset the plans. They restarted with a summer song (Supermodel) and now a new Power Ballad (The Loneliest) and in January the new album. I believe and hope that as for Twenty Years (the most neutral song on the album) also for The Longinest (which still has the use of E-Bow and a plasma distortion pedal which are small innovations but which involve research of "New" sounds) will be like a business card to accompany us inside a new album. However, even if I think it will be a good album they will keep their transversality so it will not be a flat line but a wavy one.
Good to see you again! And yes, the guittarr solo is amazing and the best part of the song - without it it would have been quite sleepy. I always love Damiano's voice though! Im looking forward to see them perform it live and what they will do of it then.. About their next album: I saw Victoia in an interview saying that it will be 50/50 English and Italian songs. I hope that it won't be too streamlined. I believe that they have worked with Max Martin, at least on the Super model song.
@@sattvadevi if you speak about the interview at global citizens she was just saying the album will be in both languages but it doesn’t necessarily means 50/50. Damiano was clear about the fact the album will have more song in English but still some songs in Italian 🥰

Rachel, I'm glad you've pointed out the bass line which is very very good. Obviously I was waiting for a guitar solo the second the preview was released and I was so happy when I found out we were going to have one 🎸🤟 Also, Damiano's voice is exstremely comunicative to me. I've heard the live version from Paris and, although he has to improve his overall performance, I can't deny having shivers when he sets on that fantastic distorsion in his voice. Wow! Ethan: perfect as usual, the guy is gold. Last thing: from what I've heard Thomas' guitar is a bit more present live. Great analysis. Hugs form Italy! 😊
I would say that this song is "saved by the bell" with that solo with noise inspiration, from being a quite generic pop-rock ballad. A bit too polished for my taste, but I guess its what you can expect from a single aimed to cement their image as global band. I hope the album would be more on the rock side
Dear Rachel, thank you for everything you post. What do you think about that "...I have wrote" (in a perspective of that "I can't get NO satisfaction" Mode/formula). Do you reckon it is a deliberate choice? (Poetic licence or whatever?) So, it's just deliberately there a focus on the 'rhyme'; just to make it sound better?
I totally agree with you, I was disappointed when I first listened to this song, it's too american, too pop. thomas' solo is the best part of it. I also hope that in other new songs they will go back to their roots. thank you, your reactions are always on point.❤️

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Io l'ho trovata bellissima, struggente ❤️
They already performed it live in London and Paris:

It would not be 50/50 , she never said that. It will be mainly in English with like 4-5 Italian song.
@@lolacbts8736 I remember her saying half/half English and Italian songs. Maybe we didn't hear the same interview..
@@sattvadevi if you speak about the interview at global citizens she was just saying the album will be in both languages but it doesn’t necessarily means 50/50. Damiano was clear about the fact the album will have more song in English but still some songs in Italian 🥰
@@lolacbts8736 I actually don't remember what interview it was. Well, it seems like we will be getting some italian songs anyway! Do you know when the album is coming out? 😊
Rachel, aside for your comment on the song, which I agree with,
I would like to thank you for the plesure of hearing your wolderfull musical english pronunciation.
❤️love your reaction!! I honestly agree it’s different, but not because it’s for the American people, but because there is more of an extended option now, As The Rock band ,and they need to make music for the World !!! Very Wise, beautiful and catchy decision!!!! In my humble opinion!!! 🇮🇹♥️🇮🇹♥️🇮🇹♥️🇮🇹
The loneliest is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thomas is a little genius.
Hi Rachel! It's been a while! First time listening to this song! Maybe because it's my first listening and it's a kind of sad song, but I didn't like it too much! I should listen to it more. In my view, I hope they make more music in Italian! I know English is the global language, but Italian is so unique! Thanks for the video! See you next time! 😊
Bentornata! 😊
MANESKIN 🇮🇹👍
I'd really love to see a reaction to Tomas performance in Sanfrancisco
but also If I can dream by Elvis is a beautiful reinterpretation ... don't you think? I'd like your reaction...
Oh yes, Rachel! Basically any song I love I want to hear your reaction above all! 💕
That moment when she said that she would like a little bit more guitar. Yeah, there will be "a little bit more" :D

Yes I agree that the emotional Thomas's guitar solo makes the difference in this wonderful ballad.
Improve his overall performance ??!!
solo 2 parole: ANALISI PERFETTA
I would say that this song is "saved by the bell" with that solo with noise inspiration, from being a quite generic pop-rock ballad. A bit too polished for my taste, but I guess its what you can expect from a single aimed to cement their image as global band. I hope the album would be more on the rock side
I was really looking forward to hear your comments. Thank you for this video. I share with you the hope to hear soon the group singing in Italian
Dear Rachel, thank you for everything you post.
What do you think about that "...I have wrote" (in a perspective of that "I can't get NO satisfaction" Mode/formula).
Do you reckon it is a deliberate choice? (Poetic licence or whatever?)
So, it's just deliberately there a focus on the 'rhyme'; just to make it sound better?
Brava! Sempre piú bella...
this and coraline are by far my favorite
the beginning sound reminds me a bit of Harry Styles vibes, love it
Yes, it does. That's why I don't like it so much. There is already one Harry Styles, Maneskin do not need to copy anybody.
Se ascolti la canzone e vedi il video ti vengono i brividi
I totally agree with you, I was disappointed when I first listened to this song, it's too american, too pop. thomas' solo is the best part of it. I also hope that in other new songs they will go back to their roots. thank you, your reactions are always on point.❤️
Hi, you should definitely watch their live performance of it in London at the Underworld, it's more "real", more måneskin, by the way, love your reactions
...tailored for American audience, ja... totally agree with you, Rachel. Thanks.
