If you lost someone you loved very much and listen to this, understanding the lyrics.. it’s intense. Painful. And so beautiful. And also the video makes sense.
I am really happy Brividi won, but this song deserved to be higher during the final night, I hope Irama will win Sanremo Festival one day, his songs are always beautiful. I hope you checked out also "La genesi del tuo colore" by Irama from Sanremo 2021.
Great video as always! I love Irama's music and voice so much. He was my favourite in Sanremo not just in 2022, but in 2021 and 2019 too ! A lot of his songs has a deep message! I love that.
Irama - Ovunque Sarai (Official Video) [Sanremo 2022] 🤔 English translation If you are wind you will sing If you are water you will shine If you are what I will be And if you are time I will wait for you forever If you are light you will warm If you are moon I will see you And if you are here I won’t know But if it’s you, I’ll feel it
Wherever you are, wherever I am In every gesture I’ll look for you If you are not there I will understand And in the silence I will listen to you If I’m on the ground you will raise me If it’s cold you will burn And I know you can hear me Where every soul has a color And every tear has your name If you come back here, if you ever You know I’ll be waiting for you Wherever you are, wherever I am In every gesture I’ll look for you If you are not there I will understand And in the silence I will listen to you I will listen to you If you are wind you will sing 😐
The first time I heard the song during Sanremo Festival I wasn't paying much attention and I totally misread its meaning however since the second listen I was hooked. As someone who has lost at a very early age a person that was fundamental in my life I totally identify with the song lyrics and ihis live performance... he delivered with so much emotion it was impossible not being pulled in....
Thank you for reacting. I suggest to read the translation, so the video and of course the song will sound even more intense, cuz it's dedicated to his grandmother who passed away
Thanks for the reaction to Irama, even if unfortunately, youtube does not put automatic subtitles and I could not understand your comment well. However, the live version in Sanremo is much more beautiful, much more appreciable.
You are the best that I listen to with great pleasure. it shows that you know and love music and you are very very competent managing to capture every particular peak beyond the emotion of the singer's voice. I just hope you can react more to other Italian songs because they deserve your review. A big kiss on your heart!
Your reactions are always the most professional. You make a real musical analysis of the song. The only think that I can’t believe is that it is the first time you listen to this song. Thank you
What a treat that was. Emotionally strong but neatly avoided descending into a lachrymose tangibility. I liked the almost Arabic sound to his wailing. It lead the listener into the realm where life and death commune. BTW - No rail strike down your way!
Amazing Song. It has been written for his granny who died by COVID ... The song is a master piece... If you are wind, you will sing If you are water, you will shine If you will be what I will be And if you have time, I'll wait for you Forever If you are light, you will warm If you are moon, I will see you And if you'll be here, I won't know But if it's you, I'll feel it Wherever you will be, wherever I will be In every gesture I will look for you If you are not there, I will understand And in the silence I will listen to you If I am on the ground, you will get me up If it gets cold, you will burn And I know you can hear me Where every soul has a color And every tear has your name If you come back here, if ever, you know that I'll wait for you Wherever you will be, wherever I will be In every gesture I will look for you If you are not there, I will understand And in the silence I will listen to you I will listen to you
His grandmother didn't die because of covid. She died long ago, before the pandemic. He wrote another song dedicated to her, called "Un respiro", when he was a contestant in the popular talent show Amici back in 2018.
I think that figure at the end was some kind of guardian/protective spirit, believe it or not - it's not terrorising him, but gently putting him down to rest. As everyone says, it was written for his late grandma, so that may be her ghost that's tucking him in as if she'd never left in the first place. I would describe both that particular scene and the video as a whole as dreamy. Most dreams (at least in personal experience) are very weird and impulsive with subject matters that stem from the subconscious. So yeah, some visuals may not make sense at face value, but there's lots of meaning behind them. Anyways, that's my two cents on that!
Great reaction, this is probably one of my favourite songs of San Remo that i've listened to haha. And because you asked, maybe you'd enjoy checking out Loom by Olafur Arnalds and Bonobo. The rise of the song is quite unique imo and it has some beautiful soundscaping, it also got nominated for a grammy if im not mistaken :)
Oh hi Rachel, nice to see you again. You might have seen the shortlisted host cities for Eurovision 2023, do you have a preference on what city should be the ultimate host?
This song is amazing. Irama wrote it for his grandma who passed away. That figure in the end probably symbolises her spirit who protects him. That's my interpretation of the video. ❤️
Irama The best song of Sanremo 2022 was supposed to win him Sanremo but there were too many fans of Mahmood and blanco Blanco I really like but in other songs like Nostalgia, la canzone nostra and blu celeste.. But here irama It was great
I hope you reaction on Blanco's song 'Blu Celeste' too, there haven't been many people who have done it and it's a shame because there is a lot to analyze there.
I already tried to make you listen Lauren Ruth Ward so I try again here with the song 'The Break Up Song' a moving song about her own relationship/break up: ruclips.net/video/KHtVVIbOzrs/видео.html

I really like this song but I expected something more. It kinda fell flat after the lackluster buildup for me. The instrumentation felt a bit thin at that part and then his voice came back after an unnatural pause and nothing special happened. Also too many effects on the vocals. I prefer his last year's entry. Have you heard Can Somebody Find Her? from Benjamin Ingrosso's album Playlist? It' laidback, fun, retro and seemingly formulaic with quite a few interesting moments sprinkled throughout.
I don't like this song. I suggest "La vita mia", masterpiece by Amedeo Minghi. When Irama sings "Ovunque sarai, ovunque sarò", he reminds me a lot of Amedeo Minghi.
Hi Rachel, just letting you know that Irama is known to be a transphobe, you of course couldn’t know, but please stay away from his stuff in the future. Context: One if his songs features a line about beating a trans person, which he has shrugged off like it was nothing when asked about it

This year Irama tried once again to slay the competition, and indeed is a very good job. This song worked much better at the time of stage, because it's good but with a strange development, ending a bit in nothingness, but live it was more intense, and all the arrangement sounded way more authentic.
