Great review Nathan. My tires were inflated when I received it, although I didn’t check the pressure in them. I think this spreader is built way better than a Scotts. Just my humble opinion. The spread pattern is awesome on this thing too. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it after you get used to it. Thanks buddy!
Very informative video - - thanks much! I just bought this Echo RB-60 spreader and am also going to use it to spread pelletized lime on my lawn. Do you still think a spreader setting of 6 or 7 on this Echo spreader is the proper setting for spreading lime?
@@PacificNorthwestLawns OK. So the spreader setting of 6 or 7 is still good now that you've used it about 6 months? You said in the video you may have to tweak the settings after learning to use the spreader. Thanks.
@@DaddingAllDay it actually isn't hard to work around the wider pattern. When I get to use something that shows up on film better I'll try and show ya.
I am strongly considering buying the RB 60 spreader, however first I would like to know the specs on it. I'm most interested in the Height & Width & Depth with the handle folded down for storage purposes. If you could get me these measurements that would be greatly helpful. Thanks
The handle doesn't fold down without dissembling it. All the information is right here: www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-60-lbs-Heavy-Duty-Spreader-RB-60/311319950
Yes definitely. I plan on doing a more in depth review soon. It's a great spraeder for the money. The door on it will get stuck closed sometimes but simply pulling the handle once or twice gets it unstuck.
Are you still happy with this spreader? Have you tried to take apart the gearbox to grease it? Are you concerned about the spring eventually loosening up and not opening the gate accurately? Have you had anymore trouble locking in the settings like you mentioned in your video?
Jeffrey Sauline no I haven’t tried opening the gear box. There’s been no need to and I don’t want to void the manufacture warranty and to answer your next two questions - no and no.
@@PacificNorthwestLawns I did submit it to their customer service. Maybe I need to have a local Echo company check it out first...maybe I got one that is a little defective.
It’s just a design flaw. The workaround is to thoroughly wash the dual disk undercarriage after each use. The cable/spring setup is inferior to a solid pushrod control arm. This RUclips video does a good job of examining the issue: ruclips.net/video/wL1GDOf7rI4/видео.html
For what they cost, absolutely. I do have the same issues most people have with them. The thing that spins isn't low enough to the bottom of the hopper so it doesn't get everything out. Easy fix with a zip tie. Also occasionally the door on it gets jammed a little.
I bought this spreader last Fall. What a mistake that was! For the life of me, it is absolutely useless. Grit is constantly getting stuck between the spreader plates. Constantly. I can't do two rows without a complete misfire. And Echo customer service is worthless. I highly recommend users to look elsewhere for another model that doesn't use this design. Outrageous that this device can be manufactured and distributed with such a serious design flaw.
Purchase the Echo RB-60 Heavy-Duty Spreader with 60 lb. Hopper Capacity: amzn.to/3h4wwy1
I love that the Echo units have that chart to show the settings
It was extremely helpful. When I do a more detailed review I'll try and go over it. Thanks for checking the video out Tim!
This seems like it would be a nice upgrade over my scotts mini! Awesome!
Oh it is. That's what I've been using and the difference is night and day...

Lawn is turning out great. 2020 is the year of the lawn!!!
It definitely did well over the winter.👍

You should check the air pressure. I thought they had air in them too, turned out there was none.

Should work. Nice thing with lime is it won't hurt to be a little over.

Great video. I want the same spreader... My daughter enjoyed the music. She was dancing. lol
Glad she was entertained for a few minutes. I'm sure it helps for even a moment in these tough times.
Solid review man! I'm realllllly thinking about getting this spreader. I can't bring myself to buy a super expensive one. I hope it holds up!
Me either. It was at the top of what I wanted to spend. So far I'm glad I got it.
Excited to see what you think after a full season of use, these ECHO units are flying off the shelves.
I saw yesterday Home Depot is sold out online. I'll do a follow up video later in the year.
Quite the intro for a spreader😁
It was a little much...
Nathan is da man! Great channel!🤘 rock on brother
Lol Paul... thanks dude. Still have a ways to go..
Well heck. The reason I didn’t buy this spreader is because I thought it was too big for a 3500sqft lawn. I guess it’s not.
Not at all. I even used it in my back yard which is only 1500 sq ft.
Pacific Northwest Lawns I guess I meant more of the 8ft throw pattern. I bought the Earthway 2600A

I take that back it has parts off my @shindaiwa rs60 like the tires and drive system, but the spinner, adjustment, and handle is totally different.
Looks like it throws pretty evenly? How well does the edge guard work? Good initial review.
I couldn't get a good camera shot but it spreads really nice. The edge guard worked perfectly. Didn't even really need to clean off the sidewalks.
i have one too but put 45 lb not 3 bags at the same time 😢
Damn dude your editing is killing it!
Lazy Lawns thanks man. I’ve been trying a bit.

I have the @shindaiwa rs 60, kinda the same. Awesome i like it
Great review! How tall are you please? I'm 6'2''. Will it be too small for me?
I'm 6-3 and it's been perfect. Buch better than the Scott's spreaders where I have to hunch over to use them.
@@PacificNorthwestLawns thanks for your quick reply!👍
oross99 no problem at all
I’m having issues with the spring pulling the opening shut. I’ve thought about getting a new 4” spring that can pull it shut. Thoughts on that?
I'm not sure. I've not had that problem nor have I heard of anyone having the same issue. Probably won't hurt to try it out.
