    THIS VIDEO is THE BEST guide for my situation where got a house and I have really big height differences in my lawn due to holes and bumps. EVERYONE on youtube only talks about sand leveling and stuff that can be done when the lawn and ground below it is fairly level (compared to my situation). Never saw anyone go all in and do it from scratch like you did here. I only found your video when I finally stopped searching in English and tried it in Slovak which is strange 😅. Surprise surprise after months of search for a quality guide I found you, Sir. Thank you very much for this video. Its going to help me tremedously and I really appreciate your effort.

    Top insights:
    🛠️ The correct preparation of the soil is essential for successful growth of the turf, including removing weeds and mixing sand for compacted soil.
    🌿 Using organic chicken manure as fertilizer provides a healthy source of nutrients for the soil without the use of chemicals that can be harmful to the environment.
    🧹 Removing impurities and leveling the site is important for an even surface and a successful sowing process.
    💦 Proper watering after sowing the grass is essential for seed germination and growth of grass.
    🪱 Dealing with earthworms is important to ensure they don't damage the new lawn, especially in the spring and fall when they are active.
    ✂️ Regular mowing of the grass after its growth will help maintain a healthy and tidy lawn.

      With these steps, you will get a perfect lawn because you have ideal weather conditions in Ireland. Just check the pH value of the soil and get quality seeds. Greetings from Central Europe 🌱

    Hi, very informative video indeed. My lawn soil is very compact. I did grass seedlings three years ago but now only crab grass, dandoliens and xyz weeds left. Lots of crack on the lawn and i'm battling with bamboo rhizomes. I saw your videos and final results which i taken. First i will mow my lawn on very low height and cut all bamboos from surface whom are making seeds. Then i will spray vinaigre all over the lawn and will cover it with black plastic sheet for 6 weeks. Then i will start in july to tilling and add sand on the soil to loose it. Then next steps will come. I want to ask how can i know my compact soil is best for growing a healthy grass how can i test my soil i dont have any check here. And how could i know if i need to set ph or alkaline level of my soil. Or i just start what you recommend.

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture  5 дней назад +1

      If you have very compact soil, then you definitely need to add a 5 cm layer of sand after removing the old turf. Check the pH value of your soil. In clay soils, the pH must not be below 6.5, which you can determine with a pH meter. You can find the device from 13 dollars: Ph/Fertility Tester: amzn.to/3OtJyav
      If you have the opportunity, add wood ash in late autumn, at the earliest after the second cutting of the new grass. It will break up the clay soil and preserve the necessary elements the lawn needs over the winter. To get started, follow the steps in the video, there will be more videos on repairing alkaline and acidic soils that you can do later. Good luck with your new lawn and thanks for watching 🌱

      Thank you so much for your quick reply, these tips helped me a lot and now I will follow your videos and instructions with confidence. I have another big problem. I have a huge pine type tree in my lawn that is constantly dropping dead pines and also has some fruit that dries up and falls off. I have put new compost under this tree many times but it turns black every time and the grass never grows.
      Also, I have a lot of neighbours cats in my lawn, they have turned my lawn into a toilet. I have used cat repellants many times but they don't go away. In such a case, if I put plastic foil on the lawn, the cats tear it or damage my raised beds in anger. If there is any help for the trees and cats, then it is good. How do I grow grass under the tree and how do i prevent the cats to come? close Similarly, birds and pigeons visit my lawn a lot and they chewed all my grass seeds last time. I also want a solution from them. If you can tell me a solution, it will be great.

    what about a terrain where I have a huge presence of roots from existing trees? (i have a magnolia, which have very long and surface roots). How can i prepare the terrain for making a new lawn from zero? The existing one is a mess and I want it done properly

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture  Месяц назад +1

      You need to remove all the old roots up to 20cm/8inches and loosen the soil, follow the other steps as in the video and you will have a stunning lawn. Thanks for watching🌱

      @@organickulturethis assuming i want the trees removed, but what if I want to keep the trees? Would removing those surface roots risk to kill the plant or is it feasible? Thanks for your time replying! Awesome video, best one I've found on the subject until now

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture  Месяц назад

      @@andreacolella2044 I get it now. I had no prior experience with lawns and the shallow roots of magnolia trees. If it is feasible and not too extensive an area, raising the layer of soil by a few centimeters should suffice to ensure that your new lawn thrives and looks its best. Since the mature magnolia tree provides a lot of shade on the lawn, I suggest planting grass seeds suitable for shady spots. This is my recommendation, but the final decision is up to you. Good luck with planting your new lawn!🌳🌱

    Does the weed drying method definitely work for this plant? *Elymus repens* _Even if the root of the plant remains dry for years, it comes to life when it sees water_

      I partially agree that some seeds can wait a few hundred years until they get the right conditions. We simply will not create the conditions for them and I am currently editing a video on how to protect the lawn from incoming weeds, which I will publish in a few days. There you will see the full result of this weed-free lawn without any chemicals. Thanks for watching and best regards🌱

There you can also see the result of the new lawn from this video. In my experience, using loose soil can make the process a lot easier. I wish you many pleasant moments on your new lawn.🌱
