- "Get Your Lawn Ready for Summer with These Spring Renovation Tips!
Hey there, lawn enthusiasts! Ready to transform your outdoor space into a green paradise just in time for summer? Follow these simple steps to give your lawn the TLC it deserves:
Assessment Time: Take a stroll around your yard and assess the current state of your lawn. Look for bare patches, weeds, compacted soil, and any other issues that need attention.
Prep Work: Before diving into renovation, give your lawn a good cleanup. Remove any debris, dead leaves, or lawn clutter that might be hiding beneath the surface.
Aeration: Aerating your lawn is key to promoting healthy grass growth. Use a lawn aerator to perforate the soil and allow oxygen, water, and nutrients to reach the grassroots.
Overseeding: Once your lawn is aerated, it's time to overseed. Choose a high-quality grass seed that's suited to your climate and soil type. Spread the seed evenly across your lawn to fill in bare spots and encourage thick, lush growth.
Fertilization: Treat your lawn to a nourishing meal with a balanced fertilizer. Look for a fertilizer specifically formulated for spring application, and follow the instructions carefully to avoid overfeeding.
Weed Control: Don't let pesky weeds steal the spotlight from your grass. Tackle them head-on with a targeted weed control product or by pulling them out manually.
Watering: Keep your newly renovated lawn hydrated by watering it deeply and consistently. Aim for about an inch of water per week, either from rainfall or irrigation.
Maintenance: Once your lawn renovation is complete, it's important to stay on top of maintenance. Regular mowing, watering, and occasional fertilization will keep your lawn looking its best all summer long.
With these simple tips, you'll be well on your way to achieving a lawn that's the envy of the neighborhood. So grab your gloves and get ready to enjoy a summer filled with lush, green grass and outdoor fun!"

Although, I no longer have a need to do this procedure, I still appreciated watching it. It's the best instruction video on this subject that I've seen. I was also thrilled to see that you didn't make this into a "Short", which I never watch. Good job, guys!
You don’t know how happy it makes me to see a before and after
I am soooo jealous, there is still approx. 30cm of snow still on my lawn. April can't come soon enough, lol !!!
This is honestly the most clear, concise and easily explained video I have seen for scarifying/reseeding. Well done!
Definitely is. He’s not over complicated it with fancy equipment like the other videos.
It’s nice to see a professional start with the scalp, many people have got away from that. I see people purposefully leaving their grass extremely long and just dumping seed. They ignore the thatch and 12 inch blades of grass.
You got a new fan, my son Jaxon and I have subscribed
I've been a landscaper for 30 years. Kudos. Great job
so pretty, you guys are the bomb. When I show my friends your yards , well videos I tell them you are true English Gardeners. You are right up there with LHL who I just love.🤩
Thank you so much ☺️
Someone was using their feet to do this and I loaned them my roller, they were thrilled and impressed at my timing and awareness…I just happened to be next door working and I noticed it
So far this season: lawn has been slowly shortened so the grass crowns arent damaged. De-thatching the lawn this weekend. Will give it a mow the 2 after but not to take off much material (1 notch on the reel) just seems to kick start growing based on previous seasons. Aerator is coming next week. And sand/soil mix (80:20) ordered to level the lawn after aeration. Only issue now is my dog likes to eat rocks and if i miss picking one up before mowing with the reel mower, the blades are going to get dull again fast.
Pro tip, after scarifying mow with the bag on again and it will pick up all the thatch
Lawn envy! Absolute masters in their field.
Beautiful results indeed!!!!
Well done guys 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Roll on spring, I miss my garden!
I like the use of the lanzy for top dressing

In 4 weeks that is some transformation, very impressive,I tried something similar last October but it took a long time for the grass to grow back even though I top dressed it etc,the only thing I didn't do I think was I didn't run the roller off the mower over the top dressing,is that the Stihl rs 655 you have there?lays a nice stripe
i have done this on my lawn and other peoples lawn and would aerate it if doing that much work

Ahhhh. If only my lawn was this tiny!
😅
Ok,,, where have you been,, you must have disappeared up your own A,,, I've really missed your videos in Sydney being a old girl born and bred in Wimbledon London,, I grow all the English flowers and it's hard work in 37c 38c and higher and your both my kind of gardeners, real ones,, not just cutting long grass without a garden within we need you back quik smart please boys,, ❤ ❤ ps,, I have Santa Anna couch like a bowling green,, love it
Interesting. I live in Maryland and fall is usually the best time to do this process. It starts getting HOT in June. If you don't get that pre-emergent down in the Spring (because you decided to overseed) then you are going to have a battle with the weeds, and weeds take up nutrients. Fall = dethatch, overseed and Spring = weed control
Hi mate.
Im after your wise wisdom. It's 11th April and my lawn is like a mud pit. Its horrendous. The soil is very clay-ey anyway and its awful when exposed to rain like we've had.
The bald patches and parts that are particularly churned up I have levelled out the best I can after digging narrow drainage channels using sharp sand.
I am waiting for it to dry out a little and will then scarify, top dress with more sand and top dressing mix then re-seed. Just wondered if im on the right lines? My mrs reckons I need to re-turf but i refuse to 😅
Would you advise to aerate after scarifying before you overseed?
This is awesome, I would love to try it but I have to get rid of weeds. I’m assuming that’s going to be my first step
Great video. The model of your scarifier please? Txs
My frend work prefect top
Looks fab. What top soil have you used?
Amazing! Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you could recommend a good seeds supplier and also the scarifier you used?
Great video. What top dressing did you use?
Never heard of 'scarifying'
Where can you get that cool looking rake tool that picks stuff up like salad tongs?!? Sweet!
Hi great video thanks ! Could you let me know what top dressing soil you used please?
Great video ,what mower do you use and what was the grass seed and where can you get it thanks
Maybe Peat moss should be applied on top of the soil to keep the birds off.
Looks great. What seed did you use for this job please
Off to look up what scarifying means
The lawn looks great now
Scarifying removed acres of moss from my lawn…. Do I now apply moss killer before review-seeding? Thank you
Nice video. How many bags of compost per 100m2 of lawn?
🎉
I’m really confused with what order to do this to my lawn: weed and feed, scarify, aerate, over-sow. Any advice would be great!
🚜
How far does 1 bag of compost goes using the compost spreader?
Do you not spike it
What would someone expect to pay for such a procedure? Grass very mossy. Medium sized rear garden! Great video by the way not too long and explains each procedure well. 👍
This video job all in about £240 👍
Thank you 🙏
awesome ! what is this scarifier you are using in this video ? thanks !
Thanks, it is a qualqast electric, not sure what model it is though I'm afraid!
Is it too late in the year to do this now? When would you recommend doing it?
When did you get the chance to do this work this year. I’m still waiting
Is there any reason why you can't just mix the seed with the soil/compost in the roller🤔
How much was the compost spreader and where can you get one .great results on the lawn .
£150 from Garden imports uk!
Which seeds are these?
When you say at the end that there are some barer patches that need more seed, would you just drop more seed on those areas and roll over with the top soil again?
Yes 👍 scratch the area again a little and then cover the seed
How do you stop the birds from swooping down and eating all the seeds. I'm in the UK London and birds practically spy on me when I'm sowing seeds Lol!
Hi my boys my grass is full of weeds but grass not long enough to cut. What is the best thing to do about the weeds. Do I spray with weed killer or what. Please reply my boys 😊😊😊😊
