    You’re right on, Nate! I overseeded my main stage last year and I am NOT overseeding this year. I’ll do preEmergent this fall and the next year do a full Reno on it. However, I will overseed my Project Island this year. Good points about mechanically aerating too - something I think is done too often.

    I aerate my lawn twice a year with a tine aerator, not plug style, I pull with my riding mower. I fertilize in the spring only. Leaf matter fertilizes in the fall. I don't rake leaves. They get ground up in the soil. Each spring I do a scalp cut. I don't have a dethatcher. That gets most of the dead grass up. 🐀🐾

    What products did you use for the front? GCF seeding pack?

      @PacificNorthwestLawns  3 года назад +1

      Sure did. It worked extremely well on the backyard last year so I used it again on the front yard.

    Can you hydro seed to do overseeding?

    I agree with all of these unless you want a golf course lawn.

      99.9% of the people watching don't have a golf course lawn so I don't really even go into that but you're correct. 👍🏻

      You can but you don't have to. It kinda depends too on your grass type.

      KBG spreads so no you don'thave to overseed. Just feed it well and it will fill in any thin spots pretty quickly. Huge barefoot you may want to seed a little.

    Beware using home made topsoil. I used composted maple leaves as a top dressing and it killed my grass.
