That hydrothermal vent at the bottom of our young ocean is where the first life formed, simple virus-like creatures. They have since evolved into something beautiful and that mother vent is far gone.
Nearly every desert theme’s got some kind of Arabic style to it, and yet they always manage to be absolute bangers. This one definitely stands out as one of my favorites, up there with Windswept Wastes for Ori
The level design of this entire zone blew me away. A polluted, dried up ocean. Dead coral, sunken ships, crates and litter all over. It's an honest possibility in our future, which makes it very grim.
I think the world that hit me really hard at first was the ice world before this one, because it looks like it was literally London; made me realize that the planet in Forgotten Land is almost certainly the Kirby universe's version of Earth in the future
I just love the whole setting of forgotten land- it's like shiver star in kirby 64, where everything's desolate, overgrown and chaotic. Like a post-apocalyptic earth
Something I don't think gets enough credit is how this track juxtaposes the songs that came beforehand. Almost every song up until King Dedede's boss fight were lighthearted, charming romps through fun setpieces and chaotic mini-challenges. Then Dedede shows up. And where you'd expect a bombastic, big-band blowout, you instead get a heavy-metal anthem, the likes of which the game, or even the franchise, hadn't yet gotten. Combine that with Dedede's much more outwardly aggressive attack patterns, and him using a _goddamn pillar_ in place of his usual weapon, and you've got a rendition of Dedede that kicks you in the butt and tells you that the game is done playing whimsical. And then Kirby _loses._ Sure, Kirby is victorious in terms of their usual bout. But through Dedede's surprise attack, Elfilin is captured. The villain achieves their major goal. They _succeed._ And Kirby has to go to the next world without his guide in this new world. And what is the song that plays _right after_ this intense moment? This. Something equally serious and dramatic, contrasting the whimsical nature of the game's usual fare.
This song reminds me a lot of the Oblivia theme from Xenoblade X. Both are vast wastelands full of rampant sandstorms and scattered debris. I'm not usually a huge fan of desert areas but for some reason the vibe of these ones hit different.
I think’s it’s due to their aesthetic not just being ancient Egypt. Where the Wastes are themed off a dried up ocean and ruins of modern day humanity, Oblivia is themed off of alien technology that was left abandoned due to an unknown event.
Such a good title for what is essentialy the beginning of the second half of the game. Where the missions are harder, and some bosses ( without a copy ability ) are pretty punishing to fight.
This is my second favorite world right below wondaria remains. Mainly, it's because of the design of the world, the music, the enimes, and it's the most mysterious world in the game! Heck, the first level is called "The wastes where life began," showing a dried up ocean and massive ships in a CONSTANT sandstorm!
Day 41B of the haltin days The music for this dried-up ocean could fit better for "shifting sand land" and vice-versa, watch out for the wolves and the fat snakes. This area has been freed from corruption, next stop is a glorious water resort that is said to be an oasis of sorts for those looking to refresh themselves
Kirby you can't just casually drop a level name like this and act like nothing happened
Well everything DID happen. And now it's gone.
The name is based on the fact that this desert used to be an ocean and oceans are where life began on our world, and presumably the forgotten land
Me when life on earth originated from the ocean but i forgot and am really scared

Classical tune
HAL! You can't just put one of the coolest level titles ever and make like nothing happened!
Sans! This is the wrong Game!!
"Man kind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here."
interstellar is such a good ass movie
Intersteller is epic
when relating to this, shiver star is earth, soooo
Hi Hank
Man.. the music really makes it feel that u are actually traversing a desert wasteland
It makes you FEEL like kirby
the name for this level goes hard as FUCK holy shit
With appropriate music too!
it makes sense too, as it appeared to be a dried up ocean, where most life originated from. not to mention the Squishy (squid enemy) in the desert lol
@@nazumi012 the lost squishy is so funny as a mission

Sir may i introduce you to rail Canyon
@@mr.sgames5084 Gave it a listen. Not bad, not quite my style but it’s still pretty good stuff.

which windswept theme are you specifically talking about? first time entering, getting burrow or the one that stays after key door?

@@Tsukomasi Uh, sorry to break it for you but it's most likely. I recommend you to look at Planet Shiver Star from Kirby 64

Couldn't have put it any better myself. Very well done writing this comment
And I thought they couldn't top dried up sea
And I thought they couldn’t top the KF2 Remix.
This is probably my most favorite desert themed music, right next to Temple of Shrooms.
Where life was born and died
I'm so used to hearing a PMD remix of this song that I have to remind myself that this is what it's supposed to sound like
What a hardcore title for a song.
This song reminds me a lot of the Oblivia theme from Xenoblade X. Both are vast wastelands full of rampant sandstorms and scattered debris. I'm not usually a huge fan of desert areas but for some reason the vibe of these ones hit different.

They straight up just put the Aral Sea in a Kirby game. That’s one hell of a way to send a message about humanity and nature🗿
Such a good title for what is essentialy the beginning of the second half of the game. Where the missions are harder, and some bosses ( without a copy ability ) are pretty punishing to fight.
This reminds me of the good old times in the Assyrian Empire
Only 2600 BC kids will get this
in love that they used what sounds like persian instruments!!

I hear this song when I’m in a desert area like Arizona where Yuma is located or I’m in Mexico
lol
Sounds more arabic tbh
I remeber visiting that place with one of my cousins
the theme for the wastes where life began is so cool.
My favourite level, everything is amazing there
This theme goes hard af
6/8 transition to 10/8 go brrrrrrrrrr
My favorite desert 🏜️ theme
Man I was having trouble beating this level because I was jamming out too much
I like how we don't get a warpstar cutscene, because Elfilin just got kidnapped and Kirby must save him NOW.
0:21 reminded me of the music of slipsand galaxy, yet another reference to super mario galaxy 1 and 2 that I noticed
0:50
0:52 Love this part
Did anybody else notice that this is the only one of the six worlds, that Kirby does not do a fly in cutscene on the first level?
The only level "open" enough that moving the camera actually makes a difference
So intense!
Getting to explore Oblivia was my favorite part of this game
really cool level theme
its literally remember me a mario Galaxy,s desert maps
I didn't expect Kirby, of all things, to perfectly depict the very real horrors of unchecked consumerism-induced climate change.
That's one sickass theme
I didn't expect to hear an actual oud in there :0
this is what we call good brain trauma
this song is now etched into your mind forever
I know I’m late but this felt like being in a wasteland
Why moonlight Canyons have this music only at the beggining its soooooooo! great
Sonic Mania: Oil Ocean Act 2 Past
A sandstorm instead of smog, a quicksand instead of oil, and rings draining not as quickly
0:50 i could use this part for a song
Do it
Tbh I'd love to see Myrath cover this theme. Not a snowball's chance in Hell, but I can still dream, lol
I love the Arabic influence of the music
i love it
I don’t know which name goes harder. The name of this track or “Originull Wasteland”

Who sees the parallels between the forgotten land and earth?
Sounds like Lighting Chariot Base from Kid Icarus: Uprising.
That theme is a song of Strongold, but I not remember of melodies
Desert Ruins Zones 1 & 3 (Desert)
This music is catchy but it also gives desert vibes
