    I've got the Skil Polesaw, weed eater, and leaf blower. All have blown me away in terms of performance. I was so skeptical about electric power tools but these have changed my mind on that. I'll be adding this chainsaw to the arsenal too! I love em.

      This is a great option, especially if you have multiple batteries you can switch out for longer jobs!!!!

    I just purchased this exact saw. I’m a first time chainsaw operator and am a bit intimidated by using it. I really like your video-it’s very helpful. I do wish it started at square one, tho- how to get ready to use right out of the box, how to turn on/off, what to check to get ready for very first cut, the kickback lock, etc…. but overall, this was extremely helpful and boosted my confidence a bit! Thank you!!

      Hmmm. This is an interesting video idea and I will certainly consider this in the future. Great suggestions! 😀

      And I did use the saw yesterday and I still have all my limbs intact! I studied the instruction booklet and rewatched your video and all went better than expected. I totally agree with your assessment-this is a great saw, especially for a beginner. Thank you again!

    Thank you, great video! Watch many videos on different battery-operated brands. Went shopping. Being a 65 lady, most were way too heavy for me without being exhausted in a short period of time! And I am a strong farmer gal for my age...New to using a chainsaw. Could you do a video on how to sharpen the chain?

      Glad to hear you are a farm girl just cut up a few large trees that had fell down in our woods and were in my way. Being a 67 year old girl I had no problems handling this saw.

    Thanks for the demo and the video. I have been debating about getting an electric chainsaw and which one. I think you helped me to decide to go with the Skil PWR 40 with the 6.0 battery. Thank you again for the demo/video.

    Excellent video, thank you. Detailed, concise/ well edited, and contains practical actual-use information that I appreciate a great deal. I am also an estate planning attorney and always looking for products and services to recommend to clients that will continue to serve them well as they lose some strength and balance (to a reasonable degree, of course); so thanks for that info as well.

      Oh yeah! No need to fuss with trying to pull a gas chainsaw start cord! This weights about 4 to5 lb less than similar sized gas powered versions. Plus no carburetor maintenance!

    Well, interesting comment section. I would like to get an electric chainsaw..don’t need anything big and the whole mixing gas and oil stuff has been intimidating. Enjoyed the review. Looks like it might be a good choice for what I need.

    • @40acresofclueless
      @40acresofclueless  Год назад

      Yep I love it because you don't have the maintenance of a gas chainsaw. The only fluid you need is bar oil and honestly the bar oil I fill before the job and it lasts through bucking up an entire tree so it's easy. Good luck!!!!

    I’ve been using this Skil chainsaw for several months now, but I don’t reach for it as often as I’d like because with every 3 to 4 cuts (small oak logs), the chain loosens up so much and also it gets pinched halfway thru the cut a lot. I have to remove the cover, manually tighten it and then start again. Any idea why the chain loosens constantly and does yours do
    the same thing? The orange tension adjuster on the chain cover is basically useless…Your channel
    is the best info I can find on this model.
    Thank you if you have time/info to reply.

    • @40acresofclueless
      @40acresofclueless  2 месяца назад

      Because it's a 40volt saw the power isn't there like a gas chainsaw for big logs so yes it does pinch more than a gas saw which also loosens the chain. When cutting if it feels like it is going to pinch stop and hammer a wedge in quick to take some pressure off then start it up again.

    This saw cuts good, but mine came with a bad battery that didn't even last a year and with only a few cuts. Up until that happened I would give the saw an ok rating, but if I had it to do over, I would not buy this saw.

  • @bigcatmc
    @bigcatmc Год назад +1

    Mine cuts off a lot when it gets in the slightest of a bind. Any idea why? I have a 20 volt dewalt that will cut through about anything without shutting off.

    • @40acresofclueless
      @40acresofclueless  Год назад

      This is a safety feature designed with this model I think. Mine is also prone to pinching.

  • @gaprestige

    I just purchased this chain saw because it was on sale. I really needed something a little stronger at home to get rid of the skinny trees. I noticed the oil gets everywhere even though I didn’t feel up that tank completely. After cutting a couple of branches, it started to smoke up and I’m not sure if it’s because the blades are already dull. It smells like the engine is burning and the tree bark got black. Does someone know what’s going on?

    • @40acresofclueless
      @40acresofclueless  Год назад

      You may have spilled some oil into the battery. Make sure the oil compartment is tightly secured and wipe up any extra oil. Also check to see if your blades are Sharpe. A chainsaw needs to be sharpened periodically. The chain could be too loose which could be cause it to catch and loosen even more which could make it run hot. I don't have this issue with either of the two I own.

    Struggling to get the tool less tensioning to work.

    • @40acresofclueless
      @40acresofclueless  Год назад +1

      That can be frustrating. The key is to loosen the keyless tension all the way to the negative. Then the big dial that holds the blade on, loose that one or two turns. Then start wheeling the tension wheel and tighten the big dial afterwards. The tool less tensioner will not work if the big dial is tightened all the way.

    Because they can't afford a Greenworks 80V 18" chainsaw? Recommending something to others so you can make a few pennies off their purchase is just shitheel pathetic. I'm glad that you're satisfied with this saw because it's cheaper than others, but sometimes an additional 20% to 30% makes the difference between money well spent on a tool that will be useful for many years and soon-to-be landfill crap. Let me ask you this... have you ever wasted time your precious making a video to recommend a product that doesn't have affiliate links?

      Slow down the hate bro! I do love this chainsaw. In fact I own two of them so my wife and I can go out and process wood together. The reason that I own this particular chainsaw is that I already had two other tools from the skill 40volt line up so that would give us 4x batteries to use with the 2x chainsaws so it made more sense than buying some other brand of chainsaw and having to buy extra batteries. And as far as affiliate links, of course I'm going to link up to them and it's disclosed. RUclips is a business. If you don't like the chainsaw you don't have to buy it. Maybe YOU should do a review of the Greenworks 80V 18" Chainsaw on YOUR channel since you love it so much. I mean you must make great videos.... 724 of them infact that have got you a whole 77 subscribers! Take your hate somewhere else!

      @@40acresofclueless Hate? I think you're mistaking me for people that may actually know you... not my gig, Petunia. So you went low end because it was cheap and decided to stick with low end to save money. Yeah, that makes sense in some weird American consumer way. RUclips *isn't* and has never been a business, it was always meant for sharing moments in time, it's just been taken over by individuals *like you* that apparently need the money and are willing to throw away their integrity (if they even had any) for spare change. Why would I waste the time making a redundant biased uninformed self-serving infomercial? I leave that up to the dozens of others before you that did so with your limp saw, I'd be willing to bet that you watched them all before you started begging. I'm good, I don't need to work RUclips like a bum at an off-ramp. And I didn't know I had "any" subscribers at all and truly couldn't care less. 724 videos... wholly crap, who knew? Well, it's been really sad conversing with you, good luck on the money hunt, I think you're going to need it... Petunia.
      p.s. You still didn't answer the question: *... have you ever wasted your precious time making a video to recommend a product that doesn't have affiliate links?*
