Lisa, well I couldn’t get the smile off my face as you spoke to me and used my question to begin a discussion that I hope we all can benefit from. Your advice went right to my heart and your genuine care and love for me and all your subscribers is just well, just so so good. Like the best of humanity. The funny thing is my husband is doing the Keto with me and feeling better, losing weight, and it has brought us closer in a lot of ways. Maybe as he becomes more confident, I need to feed his ego more and compliment him, etc. That is one thing I heard in your advice and something I could do better realizing that he is actually just as insecure, if not more, than I am. I think we’ve been in the bad habit of putting up walls and the old saying is correct, you need to give to receive. He’s been supportive of the Keto but he’s not very supportive with me “looking stylish or even a little sexy”. Like he doesn’t want other guys looking kind of thing. And I’m not even doing anything crazy, haha, like bikini selfies, I loved when you said that! So I guess just making sure I express my love more so, and making him feel secure that he is the recipient of that love and he only.... will help. Sure seems like a lot of work though for something I wish he had inside on his own! Anyways, thank you again for your help and to others who have offered advice. Together we are a strong group led by a beautiful, genuine, loving leader.

Lisa! You probably will not see this comment, as you have so many awesome fans, but I need to tell you, that in a short period of time, you have already changed my life! I just turned 53 and am 280 days into menopause. I've gained weight, can't stay awake past 8pm, fell sluggish, have fog brain - you know the drill. I have gone to the OBGYN (she never mentioned my diet!!) and no one has helped me more than you. Your insight to insulin levels and hormones is LIFE CHANGING. I am only a week into the keto/carnivore but I already can tell a big difference in how I feel. AND down 3 pounds. NO ONE wants to talk about menopause, and there is so little info out there.......
I love your videos! I am not into makeup - but I am big into fashion. I love your style. I love your hair....would love to see a video of a casual up do (please!). I love your "day in the life" videos, and the videos where you share your life with us -marriage, home, fashion, and shopping. Would love to see a video on fashion finds at bargain prices - maybe TJ Maxx or Marshalls?
I am excited for you and John that you are building your dream home! My hubby and I just bought our dream home on the water. (so feeling confident in a swim suit is essential LOL) Can't wait to see more from you on your new home adventure!
You are amazing, and helping so many woman with your honesty and being so genuine!!
Thank you for being here for us 50+ gals - we are a strong force!!

And I hate to say this, but these new videos discussing Keto, weight loss, menopause, etc are by far my favorites. I’ve just grown away from the full make up videos. It used to be exciting to hear all about the new released makeup & then go to Ulta and they’d FINALLY have it..,.lol. But now, there’s something new coming out every week, it seems like!!!! I can’t keep up with it all!
And everyone is interested in weight/weight loss info!!

Always best to eat God's food: if it grows in the ground or on a bush or tree... if it walks, flies or swims... no preservatives. Can't go wrong. Also, Lisa, I used to hate water, but now I crave it. Have a lime tree out back. Squeeze a whole lime into a 32 oz aluminum water holder with a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt and tons of ice in water. Best ever.

Happy Friday, Lisa!!! I apologize in advance for how long this message is, but my hope is that I can give back to you what you have given to me. In 2015, at 46 I started a quest to live the plant-based life. I was so proud of myself for completely giving up ALL meat and dairy and living exclusively on plants, fruits, grains, seeds & nuts. I thought it was what was best for me so I could get the nutrients that God put on the earth for us to enjoy. And I did it....for four years!!!! And I felt like a failure every single day because of the shame that I felt about what it was doing to my body. I didn’t even tell my doctor what was happening to me because she was so proud that I had the resolve to stick to the plan. But the truth was that I was suffering in the dark with crippling IBS symptoms. I thought it was because I was drinking so many of my fruits and vegetables in the form of smoothies. And I LOVED how clean they tasted...but they were destroying my digestive system!!!! I could barely finish my smoothies before I would have to run to the bathroom. It was embarrassing and I was so miserable. What I have learned through this experience with you is that MY body does not tolerate those foods. That way of life did not work for me and that is OK! I didn’t fail!!! I succeeded, but I felt miserable!!! I’m loving this new journey with food and I have never felt better!!! No more IBS...it is completely gone even after just two weeks of the carnivore/keto diet. And I share your love of diet cokes. I can’t tell you how many times my loved ones criticized my habit during my plant-based journey because I couldn’t give them up. So cheers to you and our diet cokes!!! Life is too short to succumb to the shame associated with other people’s opinions. So....thank you again for your courage to talk about the hard stuff and helping me to feel better again. You are my Friday dose of sunshine ☀️ and I am forever grateful. John is a lucky man and you ARE a badass 50 year old!!! 😎

It makes me happy to see you so happy! My comment is coming truly from a place of compassion and never a criticism because that's not my intention. Plus, this is the physician in me-- Just be careful with thinking that way about thirst. The part about water/thirst can get someone's body into a trouble quickly. There is always the same question on medical school exams about thirst and the body. The human body is already dehydrated by the time the brain tells you that you are thirsty (unless someone has diabetes insipidous). That can get alot of people into a negative situation for the body with thinking that thirst will guide you. Dehydration comes with problems. This can be dangerous for some people especially with exercise programs and being in excessive heat. It can sneak up on people no matter the age. We can all understand what you said about moderation with anything (and as a physician that's really all I could hope for). People also forget that caffeine is a diuretic. My mother feels about water the same as you no matter what anyone says. My comment is coming from a joyful heart that only wants the best for everyone and hopefully it's taken that way. You look wonderful and your happiness is truly felt through the screen!! God Bless

Excellent advice for married couples! I’ve been married for 33 years and you are spot on with these words regarding the male ego. It’s always beneficial in a relationship to just step back at times and mentally put yourself in your spouse’s shoes and see where they’re coming from. I’m STILL a work in progress in this area. I’m so delighted that I’ve found your channel. You just keep on keepin’ it real Lisa!☺️

Husband/men talk: I'm 52 and have been married since I was 19 (to the same man lol). You nailed it! I agree with you wholeheartedly. Be kind to one another at all times. Just because I you have a thought doesnt mean you have to speak it.
My husband does Keto. I am vegan (I follow The Starch Solution). Its helped my IBS and hand pain improve 99%!

Hi Lisa! I am a dentist and I just wanted to remind you that it’s very hard on your teeth to sip on/nurse over a long period of time drinks with acid (Diet Coke, propel, crystal lite...pretty much anything that tastes good 😂). We see a lot of patients that develop cavities over a short period of time when they start a diet and use the drinks as a crutch throughout the day. I know you are obsessed with your teeth and went on a long Invisalign journey, so just wanted to pass that info on! No hate or shame here, I love my Diet Coke and crystal lite- I just try to drink it in one sitting and then make sure to follow up with water

Loved this. I love the freedom you can have when you’re in maintenance. For those trying to lose weight using intermittent fasting, any flavor or sweetener in your drink will break your fast, though it may or may not take you out of ketosis. (Highly debated.) The flavors elicit an insulin response, thus breaking the fast. Blood sugar is a different story. But I still enjoy an occasional diet coke or flavored water in my window. I love that people are catching on to this. Glad you shared your experiences.

Lisa, I find the best is buying a Mr. Coffee iced tea maker at Walmart for about $15 and then buy Luzienne teabags for iced tea. I cut up lemon and keep it in a plastic container in the fridge. I drink the tea with fresh lemon and it is delicious. If anyone wants sugar they can add their own. You are doing great.

Omg the part where you talked about your subscriber's comment! Same same same. I am engaged to a tall drink of water who can eat whatever he wants and doesnt gain a pound. Whenever I try to lose weight he will tease me (in a loving way) with my dogs saying things like, "mamas not gonna be cooking for us anymore boys!" BUT like you said, when I feel good, they feel good! I get into a state of lethargy (in a way) when I eat like crap and I am not the best version of myself. Keto me is the best me I've ever felt! ♡

Like you, I’ve gone Ketovore. I hate drinking water so I bought one of just about all the flavored waters and no calorie drinks to try. My absolute favorite has become Vitamin Water Zero, Squeezed Lemonade flavor. It tastes just like lemonade and isn’t too sweet! I pour it over ice and squeeze a wedge of real lemon and it’s so good! It’s my go to drink everyday now.
Your videos are so helpful and encouraging and give me hope that my tummy issues will soon resolve!

I love these kind of videos so much. You've been my inspiration to get on the bandwagon. I'm also working out. Being in my late 50's, I worry not to look flabby when the weight comes off (I'm seeing positive results already)! As far as saying "it's their life, their body", I always tell my husband to stay healthyl b/c the responsibility of looking after him, if he doesn't look after himself, will be on my shoulders lol. Mind you, it could be vice versa but him being diabetic, it's a constant worry. Thank goodness he is quite good at eating well and works out. Please keep these type of videos coming! xo

Hi Lisa , I have been following you for years. I think these recent videos are the best. The videos about people learning that being yourself and learning that it’s ok not to do what everyone else is doing. Some people don’t have good resources to learn about options that may work for them so by you doing these types of videos it’s helping people. I believe as well you you do, that God put us all here to help others. This may be your way of doing that. Keep it up. Beauty, lifestyle, food, recipes all of it is great. Maybe do a quick tips Tuesday where you share a quick 3-5 minute tip, like show us how you make your broccoli, or making a salad. Then the next Tuesday it can be how to curl you hair, or showing how to create a wing eyeliner look., then the next week, how belts change you look. Etc. Things like that are helpful for so many people.

Hi Lisa, I absolutely love these videos about the menopause and keto etc, you have taught me so much by cutting through all the noise, and I really appreciate it. I have followed you for years but I got a teeny weeny bit bored of just make up and fashion videos so these have really fired me up and inspired me to try Keto (starting next week 😀) so thank you again for all the amazing advice you look and sound better and happier than I have ever seen you 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I think all of you lovely women who have supportive husbands (AND even presently “unsupportive” ones) are so fortunate. My husband filed for divorce after 21 yrs of marriage and two kids in high school and college. He never ever, not in the entire 21 yrs, was ever supportive. Instead he was judgmental and critical and yes, terribly selfish, and always expected me to do everything his way or the highway (literally). He criticized what I ate and drank (or what I didn’t eat and drink) and always made me feel guilty. I certainly didn’t want to be divorced at age 58 or at any age (I’m now 60 and still trying to heal) .. but I also realized I had been “settling” during those 21 yrs of marriage. I made a bad choice and I paid for it. I still 100% believe in marriage and I really do miss being married. I just didn’t make a good choice all those years ago. So, what I want to say here is, if your husband isn’t completely on-board and supportive of the changes you’d like to see happen yet he still fully commits to you and the marriage and still loves you above all else, you’re very fortunate and you’re still doing so well .. better than many. Embrace the changes you want to make for yourself and simply find your compromise. And I completely agree with Lisa .. let your husband know how these changes will only help you to feel better about yourself, which in turn will be soooo much better for your husband. Because when a woman feels good about herself and her life, it benefits not only her but also hugely benefits the ENTIRE family .. husband included. Believe me, a husband will reap the benefits of his wife feeling good/better about herself. He simply needs to be reassured of this, that’s all. And once he personally sees and experiences how the changes positively benefit you AND him, he’ll be your biggest cheerleader:).

"True Lemon" not the lemonade, but the one that says crystallized lemon. They are packets that resemble equal...sweet-n-low style packets. They are not usually placed with stuff like crystal lite. I find them near the stevia truvia splenda sugar area, because I put it in my water!! I still use some splenda w/ a squirt of stevia...so refreshing🍋

The reason you may think sparking waters taste bitter is because typically there are added flavors to the water .. like lemon, lime, orange, etc .. and it’s not “just” water. Even the unflavored ones typically have some additives. Just a thought as to why you might think they taste bitter. Personally I’m not a big fan of sparking water either .. but that’s simply because I like just regular ol’ H2O so much better.

I never even considered going on a keto diet but I’m going to try it out. Can’t hurt!!! It really makes sense our bodies aren’t designed for carbs or sugary processed foods. I’ve considered going vegan but for me since I’m already anemic it wouldn’t work out. Vegan isn’t realistic for me long term. I’ve been watching lots of vids on it and it sounds amazing! Your story has really inspired me so thank you!
