22 years ago I went on a high protein diet and lost a lot of weight and have kept it off when I would get discouraged my mom would tell me go to the cabinet and take out a five pound bag of sugar and hold it now think about that five pounds you lost this month she kept me going she isn’t here anymore but she was my best cheerleader

5 lbs makes a difference. What a great way to keep you motivated. I just gained 10 lbs over a six month period. So now I need to find a 10 lb bag of something in my pantry and as I lose the weight I can scoop out a few pounds at a time until I reach my goal. Not exactly what you were doing but it may just give me the push I need. Lol! Thanks for sharing!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom but so happy to hear how much of a cheerleader for you! That's wonderful and creative! May I ask, since you've done so well keeping the weight off all these years, are you still doing high protein and I'm thinking low carbs too? If you are I think you'd be officially the person I've heard of staying with this woe the longest! I'm only 2 weeks in and watching all I can. All i know is I've gained about 5lbs and thats very depressing when you're not happy with your weight already. I notice a little bit more energy but no huge changes as of yet. Praying I can stick with it. I def don't want to keep gaining, eso with spring shorts weather just a few months away.

Doesnt have to be perfect, just do it. I already feel so much better and that is enough to keep my choices beneficial to me 💪 I am 40 and this is the first time I am changing my lifestyle for ME. I would love to eat more meat but it's expensive to maintain. What I've done to lose weight is to cut out sugar, just doing that I've lost 45lbs. I wanted to add on to my comment, because something you said about your hip, not able to walk in heels hit me because I'm dealing with those too. In my mind I'm still in my 20s and 30s, I'm not I'm 64, I am losing weight because I am over weight by a lot. People who see me now ask if I'm okay am I losing weight because I'm sick? No I'm losing it because I'm tired of buying plus size clothing, I want to be healthier and wear nicer looking things, because we all know that plus sizes are not flattering on some. I want to lose more, and I'm slowly doing it, it's taken a year just to lose 45lbs. So I'm with you on doing it for yourself.

Love these Wednesday videos! I turned 40 a few months ago-looking at that number motivated me to start getting as fit as I could. Tbh, it was seeing YOUR journey, seeing you take control of your health, that truly pushed me to put in my BEST effort. While I’m not doing keto, I am lifting weights/strength training and tracking my macros. I’ve always been fairly fit but, now? Witnessing how my body composition has changed (I can see abs and my butt is cute!), I am so proud of myself for doing the work and I just want to THANK YOU for sharing your advice, experience, and insight with all of us 🥰

I dont do keto because I dont have that level of discipline, but intermittent fasting changed my life. I used to have MAJOR sweet and candy cravings and once I started fasting that changed drastically. It's been wonderful. I read studies and follow a few scientists who share studies about Intermittent fasting and feel confident this is the best choice for me. I dont care what any other doctor says. My friend has an eating disorder and she thanked me for introducing her to intermittent fasting. She says it helped with her compulsion and changed her habits. Of course this wont work for many people with eating disorders.. But just goes to show you how this is a very individual journey.

You are one of the sweetest, kindest people to say that someone rude is not intentionally hurtful. Unfortunately, some people do say things veiled as concern that are down right rude and yes, it is sometimes intentional. I don't understand why but have had to learn to develop a thick skin. I’ve cut down bread and anything with gluten and wheat because of my Thyriod and that it was making me sick and lethargic. So now I’m trying to incorporate more greens and salads and only eat white meat. I don’t eat red beef because a lot of red meat has a lot of carcinogenic ingredients in it. I’m a 14 year cancer survivor. I buy gluten free Turkey bacon And I eat cauliflower pizza, cauliflower pasta and even low carbs zucchini. I try to go easy on Coke Zero which is my favorite. The red dress is gorgeous on you 🥰

Hey gorgeous!! I love the quote at the beginning and Mally’s is fabulous!! She is such an inspiration for women. She is a champion of women and the real deal. On top of that .....hilarious!!!! I’m so thankful that my nephew got me into this type of eating! We watched and listened to podcasts and he proved to me by example that this would make me feel better! We have always been close. He is my sisters son and he has always thought outside of the box.The way he really and truly thinks for himself always interested me. I always was so interested in his point of view.....like you!! I’m 59 now and he is 44. My kids are 39 and 41. So.......they were all raised together!! Each of them are so wonderfully different. They have all taught ME!! But I’m so thankful that I was made aware of this lifestyle. It truly gave me a healthier future to enjoy all three of them and my grandchildren!!! This is great! 🌿🪴🌺🌱

I will have to rewatch this video when I need to hear everything you're saying again... I'm struggling with this diet and this pep talk helped! Thank you Lisa! I still get cravings and think "maybe once a month I could cheat"... then I cheat and it takes me a long time to get back on track. Anyone else still struggle with cravings for carbs? Also, when I don't see the scale go down it triggers me wanting to cheat... I'm eating enough with the fasting but just feels like this diet is taking a toll mentally.

I LOVE what you said about doing what you can to make changes, don't get bogged down in rules. You've got to do what you can do right now. Those small changes can lead you down the path.... SO TRUE!!!!! ❤️ Thank you!!!!!
Feeling better is the best motivator! I'm 55 y/o. I've had a 40# weight loss in the last 8 months. I've got lots of cellulite and some loose skin and I could care less!!! I'm just loving my smaller body. I have less stress and inflammation on my joints, and that has been a game changer!! Eating reasonable quantities of real food has been the key for me.... and also more Coke Zero than I'd care to admit, 🤷🏼‍♀️, but it gets me through the day!! 😄 Daily weigh-ins have been "key" for me... the scale has become my friend!!
    Great video!!!! ⭐️

I’m also so fortunate because my family dr congratulated me on the keto lifestyle and my improved health. To anyone who is concerned about cholesterol, please look up videos on this. I know Dr Berg did one and some others too about how for a couple months your cholesterol WILL elevate BUT it not only goes back down but goes even lower to a healthy level. The videos can explain the science of why this happens and why it’s ok. Mine did exactly this and now my cholesterol and blood pressure AND blood sugars are better than they’ve been in 15 years.

I think you are very smart to consult with your doctor, and then be your own advocate, and do your own research. We've been sold a bill of goods over the years, when it comes to cholesterol. I recently read that back in the 70's, they actually thought sugar was good. It seems that certain trendy diets come and go. We have to do what works for each one of us.

This is so good this is exactly what I need to hear and actually I think I just watch that video where Ken Barry said if you got to do spam and hotdogs and baloney, then do that - that's better for you than than the carbs. And I'm not sure about that but you know not everything is black and white and not everything that is good for me is good for anyone else. And you are explaining don't get bogged down in the details and so that was really nice to hear and I really appreciate this video and all your videos.❤

Great video and so many key points. Reminds me of the things called the 7 Pillars in a group I belong to online. They are: community, nutrition, training, recovery, mobility, mindfulness and consistency. Following these does really help you get to your best self for you. Someday you may focus on one pillar more than the other but they all come into play. Well done❣

Regarding people judging others for doing a keto or carnivore diet: people don't care when you're eating donuts and french fries, but as soon as you eat keto, they are so concerned about your vitamins and nutrients. 💁🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

If you're going to do carnivore, I'd suggest starting with keto then after 3 months easing into carnivore. Get your body fat adapted first and the transition will be much easier. The keto snacks ( look up ingredients that are not keto even though the package says keto approved) can help, but slowly wean off needing them. Once you start with carnivore, try several small meals throughout the day first. Then after 90 days try to make sure you get at least a stick of butter a day. That alone will take care of the fat macros. I drink ONE cup of coffee in the morning and froth half a stick of butter in it. Then the rest of the day it's easy to get another half a stick in. Add raw egg yolk and half a stick of butter to hot water, froth it up and you have a carnivore latte in place of coffee. 2 of those a day= 1 stick of butter and it tastes close to egg nog. Make sure you take electrolytes and keep your salt intake up because you will be peeing it out. Only use butter or beef tallow (ie animal fats) for cooking.

Thank you so much for your honesty!!! I was so tired of seeing people saying that you have to eat a certain way or you have to count macros. You need to do you! Find what foods make you feel good physically. I just turned 40 and for the past year nothing ever sounds good to eat so I was eating awful and a ton of sugar. I started my own ‘diet’ and I pretty much eat the same things every day. I know exactly what I’m going to have and I have no stress about worrying what’s for dinner. I have not only started feeling so much better I lost a lot weight! I eat eggs, shrimp and steak (sometimes a beef roast) burger. I happy though…. I do great romaine lettuce for wraps and some fruit (apples, pears and strawberries). It took me about 6-8 weeks to find the combo that worked and I will never look back! I don’t crave any kind of sugar now. Thank you for the inspiration!
Also, I am unofficial the Diet Coke spokesperson! I don’t care..I enjoy it and I am going to drink it!!!

Just want to add my "thank you" to the mix! I found your videos a few days ago and they were just the thing to make me commit to being serious about carnivore! I'm a 48 year old wife (25 1/2 years!) and mother of 4 amazing kids ranging from 17 yrs- 24yrs. I have tried to do low carb for years...often cheating and then trying again and again. I think it's kept me from being hugely overweight but never where I want to be. I have for sure 30-35 pounds I would like to let go of, and then I will regroup and see where I'm at. I have set my mind to eating carnivore to try to control some of my cravings and heal some aches and pains that come from my advanced young age!😊 I went through menopause early due to a hysterectomy in my mid 30's and I've had trouble with mood and anxiety and all kinds of hormone symptoms...trying to control it with (at first) depression meds but didn't want to stay on that forever and then have been on HRT for years. I would like to see where this takes me... I feel hopeful right now and I have you, Lisa, to thank for the true inspiration! I have listened to several of the Dr's and "influencers" of carnivore/keto for quite a while but somehow your videos resonated with me on a deeper level! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope to be consistent!!

Had my hair done today first thing my hairdresser said is “you do not need to lose anymore weight!” I don’t think he meant it as a bad thing but I feel so much better. Still working out some issues with IBS but it’s so much better. Working on better sleep habits! Please talk about how you changed your habits. I know I should go to bed earlier but seems like that’s my time so I fight it and don’t get as much sleep as I need. I have been tracking on my watch and that has helped me realize how much better I feel with good sleep. I retired in October and at 65 I can say I feel better than ever. All my blood work is great too. I did not tell my doctor about my diet until after my results came back and she was so supportive, There are some people I just don’t say anything because you know it’s going to be negative. Going to lunch with friends has been rough finding places we can go where I can get good food. Any suggestions? Keep these videos coming! You are inspiring more of us than you know❤️I am weighing everyday but have never taken a picture I sure wish I had a before picture because this ole chick sure looks different!😂

Lisa you got me started on my carnivore journey in January and I feel amazing! This month I've finally achieved a 15lb weight loss. My fibroids are shrinking and my pain is gone all over my body. I was in so much pain from these fibroids in January that I wanted surgery to remove them so badly. Thank you for sharing your journey. You are making a difference.

@@carolynfoster8941 if it weren't for me catching cvd in January of this year i think my answer would be yes. It turns out I also had endo and after cvd i was stuck in a never ending flare. I think if i waited until now (8months later) the flare would have ended. But it was too great. After being pain free for so long I opted for surgery in March and thats where they found the endo. Carnivore did amazing things to keep my unknown endo at bay. I truly was pain free. My fibroids did get smaller on carnivore, but ultimately cvd got me! Had an easy cvd recovery. I was asymptomatic, but it flared my endo very badly. Please give carnivore a try for atleast 3 months before judging if its giving you quality of lofe improvement 🙏❤️

You're amazing. In this cancel culture we have now it's SO lush to have someone just speak their mind and not be apologetic about it. LOVE IT! You do what's best for you and that's the right way to do it.
I have a slipped disc and trapped nerve in my neck .. they wanted to do a steroid injection into my spine to reduce inflammation but a lightbulb went on and I'm trying to manage it by my diet instead. If doctors looked more at what we're putting into our bodies than just prescribing painkillers and other stuff to jab into us we might all be a healthier! So I've started an anti-inflammatory diet and literally within the first day I felt so much better. I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old so drastic change was definitely needed!
Anyway, love all your videos, been with you for years. Most of all love these diet/personal development videos. You're really inspiring. Jo xx
