Thank you SO much Lisa. I’m 42, and after years staying slim, boom! Belly fat and an extra 15 lbs! Nothing that used to work is working. Thank you for sharing - 40+ is a different ball game. Your sincerity and honesty are wonderful! ❤️

I stopped watching you for some time Lisa, as I’m not into all the shopping, but I love your insight on weight loss. When I finally focused on health, and not just being skinny, the weight came off for me too! And I loved your final comments about wanting to add more to our lives as women. 👍🏻❤️

Great video. I’m 51, started Keto in December of 2019 and I’ve lost 40 pounds. That middle aged belly bloat is completely gone and I feel great! I’ll never go back to my old eating habits. Sugar was my biggest problem, I don’t even miss it now.

Thank you for sharing your story! I did Keto for the first time last year and lost 60 pounds. I fell off the wagon during this Pandemic..stress and having to reschedule my wedding 3x. I gained 40 back 🙄 Now, I'm doing my best to get back to square 1. I never felt better or had more energy! I'm 44 and like you, I was sick of knee and hand joint pain as well as the belly fat. Omg. I found carnivore and it's life changing for me. My cravings are gone! I'm a stoner so I would get munchies and just eat and eat. I was worried that if I smoked I would get the munchies and binge. That has not happened at all. In fact, I barely have an appetite and I'm satiated after eating something as simple as a plain juicy burger from home with cheese and a slice of bacon. I'm so happy!!

Lisa, thank you so much for shedding light on such a sensitive topic. You’re so inspiring! I think a lot of women have struggled in some way with weight. I really dislike the topic, because it’s always been an issue for me since childhood. I tend to obsess over how my body looks on almost a daily basis. I’m trying to be healthier, especially when it comes to eating. Your video opened my eyes to what I’m striving to attain and made this topic more comfortable to address. You couldn’t have said it better! I feel like I’m headed in the right direction. 💜 all the way from New Mexico

Hi Lisa. This is the first video I have seen of yours. I relate so much to it. I’m 54 and post menopause. I discovered carnivore and started October 7 2019. I loved it. I wasn’t super strict. But went from 142 lbs down to 128. I have slacked off and gained back about 8 pounds. I’m ready to buckle down and get serious again. My scale tells me i have 31% body fat. I need to get rid of some of this. I’m relying on my daily morning weigh in as well. I feel great on carnivore. I’m so happy for you and your success on it. I love the simplicity of it honestly. The older I get, the simpler I want things to be. Thanks again for sharing xo.

When you started this series and in the beginning when you were smiling and glowing, I knew exactly what you were doing, lol The way your excited about telling us and smiling most of the time, people should take notes! I see this and know, cause that's how I am when trying to explain to people that ask me. How did you lose the weight and I get that smile and exciting feeling. To tell them of the suffering with joint pain and the pain of everyday stuff was gone, it is exciting!!
I have been keto and canivore for almost 2 years and you couldn't pay me to drink a sweet tea or pop or juice! No more sugar!!! I have lost 70 pounds and yes I have stalled, which means I need to work a little harder now LOL Not waking up in pain in the middle of the night or can't take that first step till my knee stops hurting is enough that working harder is not that hard. I love how excited you are, I love that your feeling better, I love that you can sleep through the night, Just love ya! I am 61 and I feel like I am 35 again! and my future just keeps looking better!!! Thank you for making this series and peeps watch videos, read lots! cause honestly that's what I tell everyone, it's a lot of knowledge that we just never learned growing up.

This is so so helpful! I just turned 47, 3 days ago and have been struggling for almost 2 years with peri-menapause/ premenopause and have gained so much weight. Everything is affecting my stomach and when I go on Keto I feel better but something still feels off. I might have to go on carnivore and go from there. I am desperate at this point and will have to do something drastic. I have also recently learned that IBS and endometriosis are related often.

Hi! I am a brand-new to your channel & so excited I found you! I can relate to so much of what you are sharing. Thank you for being so personal. I am 52 and in perimenopause but having this terrible sleep issue where I only sleep 4-5 hours a night and have to have an afternoon nap to even function thru the evening. I also began having so many GI issues about four to five years ago and couldn't understand what in the world was going on! I have my own story related to all of that but it's so nice to hear yours and feel like wow this is all pretty normal I'm not alone!! Thanks for already feeling like a dear friend!

"Round around the middle and can't suck in my stomach", "Looks fine straight on, but when you turn to the side the torso has become so round"...This is me to a tee & so very frustrating! I'm 53, 2 years post menopause and have eaten low carb since I was 30, started eating Paleo due to discovery of a second auto immune disease in 2014, and went back to Keto/low carb 2 years ago. I cant affect much body change regardless of what I do, including working out 7 days a week for an hour or more daily. It's nice to see someone found something that helps them and has made them feel better physically and mentally. Congrats! Enjoying your channel and this series. Looking forward to more. Thanks.

Check out Flipping50 and Debra Atkinson for cardio and weight advice. She talks about how the hormones affect your weight and working out in your 50’s. She talks about how you should not work out too much because it can raise your cortisol stress hormone and cause belly fat. She’s got a lot of science to back up her claims. Basically, do weight lifting 2x’s a week and slow/long cardio 1-2x’s a week and HIIT intervals no more than 2x’s a week with a total of no more than 45 minutes of HIIT per week. Check her out, she’s been very helpful during my peri-menopausal to menopausal journey.

Renee Arnold Thanks. I sure will check them out. I have wondered if I might be overtraining. I‘m not an athlete, yet always trained at a very high intensity. It does seems to be backfiring on me over 50. Anyway, really appreciate the advice. :)

Look into intermittent fasting with Dr. Berg. This really does the trick for stubborn weight loss. But try a strict fast like 18/6 and you'll see the pounds come off. Obviously NOT a hint of sugar either. Intermittent fasting is the way to go!

It seems like it was more a factor of health over looks as the main reason why you had to get your diet straightened out. God for you! As a retired nurse & someone who also struggled with a weight issue until the past couple of years ago, you’re telling ppl the right thing...until we get our minds straight that our gut health is tied to our brain & we have to get the gut health straightened out before anything else will fall into place. I struggle with gut issues & even have a colostomy now...so thankful your gut problems didn’t get so bad that you ended up like me. Keep doing what you’re doing, Lisa! It’s right! Blessings! 🌻

Hey Lisa! You seem so much happier and full of life! Thank you for sharing your journey with us, even though some of us (me) are much further along in the aging aspect! I was guessing that you were eating right for your gut health (leaky gut) because it also causes many of the same symptoms. I’ve always been a meat eater, high protein low carb, and it works well for me BUT...many things changed in my body during menopause and many are similar to your experience. I’m looking forward to hearing what you eat in a day, a week, etc. Keep it up, girl! You look super! ❤️😘

You know Lisa, the weight loss is great but what’s more important is how you feel. This journey has transformed you in such a short period of time. You are clear eyed and full of so much energy. Your changes in your sleep patterns really intrigued me. I’d love to be able to have an uninterrupted night’s sleep without taking melatonin or Advil or Tylenol Night. I’ve been toying with trying keto but have just felt it’s so drastic and you need to commit to it for life. I’ve always struggled with gas and bloating. I eat lots of salads and other veggies and fruit. Hard to imagine you’ve had to try small amounts of a veg to see how you react. Looking forward to hearing more of your story 😊❤️.

Lisa, almost every symptom you have described in such perfect detail is exactly what happened to me as I went through menopause and the loss of my dad. At 52 years old now, the past three years I have been trying to figure it out, and now I finally know it’s about insulin resistance , cortisol and hormones. I already feel so much better physically after implementing these ideas by Dr Berg among many others. Thank you for your candor and sharing your experience! You are so beautiful and charming. Your videos are inspiring me to keep trucking along through all of this. 🌸

@@MyMaria1224 Yes, I do intermittent fasting, generally following a 4-hour eating window and fasting for 20 hours each day. Occasionally, I will do OMAD (one meal a day); I essentially eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. I did a few longer fasts when I first started to help break my insulin resistence. I have not cut out cheese entirely, but I have cut out all other dairy. I now use coconut cream in my coffee and I love it! I am just 15 pounds from my goal, and I have never felt better. This is not a diet for me, but a lifestyle. Not thinking of it as a diet, but as a way to manage my hormones (primarily insulin and cortisol) for a healthy lifestyle has removed the feelings of deprivation that I felt when dieting. I highly recommend Dr. Jason Fung's book, The Obesity Code. He is an MD from Canada and considered one of the world's leading experts on insulin resistance and intermittent fasting. On RUclips, Dr. Stan Ekberg, Dr. Eric Berg, and Dr.Becky Gillaspie are all great resources. All the best!

Hi Lisa! Thank you for sharing your journeys. I too have a horrible digestive system. A long time ago a doctor told me that the reason I couldn’t eat lettuce and vegetables was because my diet was low in fiber and my body was not used to it so it was treating fiber like a poison. He started me on Benefiber and it has helped so much...I still have my “off” days occasionally but I can finally eat green veggies and lettuce. I enjoy you channel, so happy I found you!

Yes, it’s all about insulin! I highly suggest you research intermittent fasting. You can eat exactly what you’re currently eating, just restrict it to a daily or every other day window of time. You’ll induce autophagy that way, and burn even more fat! A great book is Fast, Feast, Repeat by Gin Stephens, or Delay Don’t Deny.
