My husband and I used to spend so much money on upscale restaurants, but now we go to Culver's a couple of times a week, and I get two double cheese burgers, no Bun or toppings, eating it is so satisfying, and delicious. I don't eat breakfast and have lunch at 3:00 then may or may not eat again at 9:00 pm, if I do it's usually more ground beef and butter, or eggs and butter...I was such an out of control food addict, I've been set free of addiction at age 68, better late than never.

THAT'S what piled the weight on. I'm convinced! I actually was naturally doing IF before menopause. It's taken me 2 years to realize this huge mistake and now I struggle to go back to 2 meals a day

@@LisaLisaD1 I’m down 50 lbs since New Years . I made my own diet. Only chicken and mozzarella .
I also eat a banana and drink a coke once in a while. I also take quite a bit of supplements to support my immune system as I’m on low dose chemo and one to help with stress and also collage and vitamin D .
I’ll be 50 in a few years, but I don’t have any wrinkles yet. I think it’s good genes mixed with the diet which give good fats to keep the skin firm.
I also discovered that the old trusty Nivea cream in the blue metal container is a dupe for the la mer cream. It’s done wonders for my skin at 1% of the price ,I can slather myself in it several times a day and use it as a sleeping mask😀
Otherwise I use “the ordinary” skin products and Amika for my hair . My skin is glowy and my hair is no longer greasy at the roots or itchy in the scalp and not dry at the ends.
I’ve stopped washing it every other day too, now that it doesn’t get greasy anymore. Only need a cut once a year .
I feel so much better, my stomach issues -ibs is almost gone and so is my bulimia that I had for 35 years.
      I stopped drinking alcohol.
I’ve always done intermittent fasting since I was a teenager without knowing it😂
And in Norway snacking really isn’t a thing, most people eat 4 meals a day , only warm food for dinner.
      I eat 2-3 times a day within a 8 hour window.
I’m also no scared of salt, it’s so important for our brain and body to function properly.
I’m not obsessed with food anymore, but I really like what I eat , I don’t get tired of it because I know it makes me feel good. I’m allergic to artificial sweeteners so I cannot do them.
So if I indulge in a coke it’s a sugar one.
I’ve ended up in hospital several times after drinking diet soda or zero soda, so never again ! No fake butter and real cream , cheese and sour cream in our house either.
As long as you eat the right way, the cholesterol is not a problem , there are two different types of cholesterol , one “bad” and one “good” that we need to live!
Luckily I’ve never been addicted to sweets or cakes.
I also have gluten intolerance , so this diet has been a blessing.
      Your outfit looks amazing !!
My daughter have those cargo pants, she wore them yesterday with a white cotton shirt tucked in the front.
      She looked amazing!
She is a true natural beauty , 6f10 and 121lbs.
She has changed her diet too,not to my extreme one, but she’s also lost 50 lbs in a year.
Her ibs is gone too, no gluten and only lactose free dairy.
She’s 23 and finally got her health back after struggling since she was 13.
I love this and thanks for sharing your journey ❤️
      Lots of love from Norway

Then slowly begin to change your eating. I'd do 2 days carnivore then 5 days keto every week you can increase your carnivore day by 1 until your 6 days carnivore 1 day keto. During keto days use electrolyte drops to keep you from getting keto flu I the beginning. This is just my opinion and experience I did with my son he lost 83lbs his first 6 Mos. I have followed you religiously for many years and have watched you loose weight, gain confidence and beauty, and feeling good about your appearance, and I want to do this for me too. I dont know why its taken me so long (2 years) to decide, but I feel now its the time. I want to feel truly good about my body next summer. Have gained 40 pounds thanks to lock downs, menopause, tubs of ice cream, crisps and a huge lack of will power, and have just let myself go. I love both the shrimp, the chicken thighs, the rib eye steaks, the eggs, the hamburger patties, the cheese - and I never eat before noon anyway, so the diet will not be a problem for me food wise. But I will need the occasional glass of dry white wine with my husband and my friends, as it means so much to me and adds quality to my life (but I can surely cut down a lot) I will do this, starting tomorrow. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction Lisa! I am by the way truly amazed how fit your arms look, wish you would share a specific video on your strength exercises that you do every night! Please share so I can copy what you are doing, my arms is just all over the place, flapping in the wind :-D

Fun fact: all beef is grassfed at least half their lives. If they are not grass finished they’ll go on to a mix of grass and grains and vitamins etc. Then, they’re at the feed lot just until they reach market weight at which point they are culled and slaughtered. This is why the nutritional difference between grass finished and conventional beef is very minimal.

I love this!!!! Don't have to give up wine night... just drink something else. The way it came from you made it so real and encouraging. I started ketovore 10 days ago as a transition to full carnivore. I kicked alcohol after almost 15 years of nightly drinking in between pregnancies and breastfeeding of course. I;m 43 with pretty serious IBS, GERD, hormonal and autoimmune issues, early onset arthritis, hypertension since 19 years old and the list goes on. Just 10 days in and my BP has completely normalized! I had been about 150/100 even while on 3 medications. I have a long way to go, but I'm very happy to find a channel with content geared toward middle aged and older women. Your energy is amazing... LOVE those pants BTW. To die for.

One of my co-workers brought a cake today, with guava filling. I love guava but I had no problem passing by that plate! I knew I was coming home to air fryer shrimp (dipped in crushed pork rinds) and braised boneless beef short ribs. I have been a meat lover all my life, but was raised in a blue collar family with a mother who wouldn't get a job outside the home but hated to cook, so most of what we ate was carbs of some sort, a lot of pasta and a lot of sandwiches on Roman meal bread which is basically Wonder bread dyed brown, with a little bit of meat because that's what we could afford. Now, as an adult, if I find meat on sale, I stock up my freezer. I have eggs and a little bit of cheese in my fridge, and I have never been so happy with my meals. I'm not new to carnivore, but I'm getting into it again because I need to lose the weight due to borderline hypertension and arthritis. With all of these amazing videos on RUclips, I'm finding ways to keep it from being boring.

That helped me level set expectations. I lost 3 lbs the first week. I’d like to lose 15-20 total. Im in my mid-40’s & it’s been so challenging to lose excess fat I’ve gained. Intermittent fasting helped but I’d usually just gain it back. I feel really good so far & was wondering how much is realistic to expect to lose as a woman in your mid-40’s with 20 lbs to lose. Returning to Houston, I sat across the aisle from this beautiful family from New Zealand! The young lady had to enter the brand and name on her iPhone Notes so she could remember to order it. I have tried to be carnivore for the past four years and always break down and go back to carbs whenever I am under stress... once I fall, it is extremely hard to get back on track, but I really want to lose weight and be the person I know I can be. When I am slim, I feel amazing and proud of myself. When I eat carbs they go right on my tummy and I feel so ashamed of myself... that I don't even go out anywhere or see anyone. I am so tired of this isolated life with no joy... I am trying again today to get back to strict carnivore as I absolutely know that I have less pain and more self-confidence when I eat only beef, salt and water.

You are so inspirational! I found your video just now, after a year. I am in my 23th day of carnivore and what you are telling is what I needed! I am 70 and have been vegetarian, macrobiotic, Paleo, then Paleoish, acid free diet (lots of veggies, spinach..)for my Gerd, then heard of the benefits of Carnivore and decided to do for 1 -3 months to give it a try. I needed to lose weight , not so much, but because I was falling for desserts it was hard to maintain a diet. Plus my fat distribution was around my short waist. Throughout my first 2-3 weeks of carnivore I had experience many good things plus other undesirable ones I will mention later. Thinking that I might get my favourite chocolate cake or my Friday glass of wine in the future, I was happy doing the carnivore. But now my mind set of living for eating food is changing for eating food for living. I grew up in a family which food is the biggest motivation for social, holidays, birthdays. My mom had three choices of home made desserts, which I chose them all. I had cooking lessons, trillions of cooking books, (there was no internet at that time), and my life was happy entertaining guests at home. So there is a lot to change . I love the simplicity of the carnivore cooking. More time to play my piano and do my other hobbies. I still work and it also helps to keep me running into my routine. But as you said, I watched many videos searching for more information and somehow got so confused with so many different advices. I do not know exactly what are macros, how many % of fat per protein grams, some say to add a small veggie amount, to fast, to eat omad, to do a fat fast….. I got very confused and a lot of hesitation. You have me confidence again and get on track to listen to my body and see what works for me, thank you!

I lost weight very slowly on 2 years keto and not at all on 3 months carnivore. So I designed my own diet after combing through several books on metabolic dysfunction which I had concluded must be the problem. (Good Energy, 10-Day Detox Diet, AIP diet.) I thought, since I have Hashimoto's, the dreaded inflamation might be part of my problem. My blood work didn't really support that I had metabolic dysfunction although some of my readings were higher than optimal but within the ranges, and my inflamation was low. One of the functional doctors on YT suggested that really low carb diets are not good for Hashimoto's. He suggested 100 g. a day. Since neither keto or carnivore were working for me, I took the suggestions for metabolically healthy diet and made up my own, also using a list of my own food sensitivities. I also jettisoned high lectin and high oxalate toxic vegetables just in case. I set a more or less limit of carbs at 50 to start. One of the things the metabolism books said not to do is calorie restrict into a level of starvation (1000 cal or lower) which invariably causes yo yo dieting. So here's what I've done....Got rid of anything I thought I might be sensitive to, keep my calories between 1500 and 1800, (I'm 5'3") EAT ONLY WHOLE FOOD, something the metabolic books said was critical. The only processed thing I eat is 2 slices of Ezekiel flourless sprouted bread for breakfast, something I really missed. There's 22 net carbs in that. I'm counting my macros, but don't skimp on low carb vege. Most important, I believe, is that I only eat 1 T. added fat, butter on my toast. I'm concluding that my lack of success on keto and carn. was due to the excess fat both insist on. I eat the fat that's on meat and poultry skin, but found out processed meat is bad for a number of reasons, so I don't eat bacon, sausage, etc. I use my air fryer for all meats. (400 degrees puts a brown coat on meats and leaves them juicy inside.) I eat starchy foods to complete my 50 g. carbs. after my toast. I am now losing 3 lbs a week, after the initial water loss which was about 5 lbs. So, don't get too involved in doing the keto or carnivore thing. There's so much contradictory in these videos across YT. I was told on these videos to increase fat if I didn't lose weight which is ridiculous. A whole stick of butter??? Didn't work. I believe the higher carbs improves my energy and I may even see what happens if I go to 100. Be experimental....Be your own person!

Yes, we all are different with different issues that need addressing, and one specific diet just won't work for everyone. I've been low carb for years but it's not helping me right now. Carnivore is easy for me, but I've gained weight on it because I think my body needs less fat than often recommended, and I need a little bump in healthy carbs from time to time. I'm still trying to figure out what my body is needing and not needing right now cause everything has changed for me due to perimenopause and other health issues.

I read that taste buds regenerate approximately every two weeks, so we should be able to retrain them, and we can, however our minds and personal experiences often have more to do with why we start to like or dislike a new food. Dr Barbara Taylor warned that menopausal women tend to crave wine. And it's probably my biggest battle. My husband cannot believe how easy change (and success) come for me, once I finally decide to do whatever I set my mind to. I went from 145 lbs to 120 lbs on carnivore (Thanks, in great part to you.) But giving up that glass of wine in the evening, is something I continue to struggle with...

I’m so glad that you talk about how important fat and cholesterol are! Women especially because we need those for our hormones to be ideal and to be at optimal health and fertility (as an indicator or general good health, not necessarily to get pregnant). I also agree with you that on carnivore we will get to a place where our physical hunger will be satisfied and cravings will be curbed or ended. I’ve been 100% carnivore for periods of time but currently I’m technically ketovore as I have been enjoying these silly wheat free keto muffins from the freezer section that are made with zucchini and some other stuff. I’m planning to stop those once I run out honestly but they’re probably contributing to the knee pain I’m having currently. I’m stubborn and definitely have struggled with disordered eating but keto and carnivore have been fantastic for me for numerous reasons, including but not limited to getting me to a size 4. I do think carnivore is a fantastic option for those wanting to get free from food addiction and maybe some EDs too because it can eliminate sugar and carb addiction. I wish everyone the very best!

I’m 44 and dealing with so much digestive issues and perimenopause symptoms, I started carnivore Jan 1st to celebrate carnivore month and so far my digestive issues have slowly gotten better, I’ve lost 2lbs already. I’ve done keto before but I never could lose much weight and still dealing with digestive issues, I am so happy I found a new diet that will help me feel better.

Miss Lisa, thank you so much for all the Carnivore videos and the future carnivore videos. I started embarking on carnivore as well and found very comfortable results from doing it. I didn’t lose the amount of weight that you did nor do I look like you, but I have found it to be very comforting in making me feel more positive about myself. I will say, though, for the summer I have kind of taken a break from carnivore and have allowed myself to indulge in some bad habits again. I will however get back on the train as I know it’s easy to do getting off and getting on this train. I hope you will address some of your viewers who are a little weaker and need to jump back on the train again. Love you Lisa

I am only on day 6. Been pretty easy so far and I am so happy to have heard this message. My husband is trying but has decided to do Keto. He has to change so much that any positive change is better than none!

Lisa, I’ve watched you for a couple of years. In this video I “feel” your desire and passion to help us. I’m not sure this will work for me but I do feel I deserve putting forth the effort. It’s a challenge because I cook 7 days a week for my adult son an myself; he eats a typical Southern meal most every night. It would be two different meals so that’s prob the biggest challenge. It’s like anything else though…”how bad do you want it”. I’m not overweight nor do I have crazy IBS but I do have lots of joint pain prob due to foods. Thanks for the info and encouragement!

@@kathybondi4143 I cook for my shift worker husband no difference. I am planning to cook him 2 nights meals so I can eat my own meat meal the next night. Also have frozen vegs zip bags I have meat plate, pop him his vegs on side roasted in air fryer. You have a plan Kathy u deserve it u will find a way. Also comment how u like when u like u have a voice. Without knowing your home circumstances folks can make a remark unthinking n reactive, don't take it like a barb just plough your own field.

Such good advice Sis. Thank you. I started mostly carnivore about 3 months ago and after about only 3 days I started to feel better! For me this is about my health but weight loss has been a win as well! I can't do grass fed beef either and I'm going to keep doing what works for me 💙

Love the fact that you eat regular steaks from Walmart! I don't like the taste of grass fed beef either and I keep feeling like I'm doing it wrong. Very motivating video!🤩

You are so right nothing taste as good to the point of feeling yucky afterwards! Also yes it’s 1-2 pounds a week and your body does regulate its self and I believe it’s so much easier to just eat the same everyday at least for me eggs different variations hard boiled scrambled etc and protein fish steak etc but I keep it simple!

I've been thinking about eating this way for a while. I'm 42 and in good shape, but I am usually bloated, sluggish and my joints are starting to ache. I've been sober from alcohol for 17 years now, and what you said about alcohol is so true--I don't miss alcohol and I don't really avoid situations where there is drinking. I order a sparkling water and no one cares or notices. I leave when folks are getting tipsy and no hangover the next day. I may try this for 30 days and see what happens. Thanks for sharing your experience on eating this way!

Bravo, I didn’t stop as early as you, isn’t it great how we start to care about ourselves. I wonder between full carnivore and low carb and I’m a 76 year old super power🕺🏻. Only problem like so many of us I’m addicted to sugar and fell into that over this last Mi winter. I am back on the path, didn’t add alcohol I would hate to recover from that again. Enjoy.

Hi Lisa 🌹 I started carnivore lifestyle three months ago after binge watching your videos on this subject. I’ve been doing keto on and off for many years now, but I couldn’t sustain it continuously and inevitably always went back to eating everything I see in front of me and , of course, gaining the weight back. I noticed the last couple of years it’s been much harder to lose and maintain, so I get frustrated and give up all together. This year however, after I ballooned to my highest weight in years, I decided something needs to be done not just for weight loss but also for my well-being and overall feeling good and healthy. Vegetables, carbs and sugars were making me miserable, bloated and sluggish. So I started carnivore. Two months into this lifestyle, I’ve lost ten pounds, very slowly but surety. Then the weight loss plateaued and I stopped losing. The third month I’ve lost nothing, but I also haven’t gained, so that’s already a plus in my book. I’m feeling better overall, no bloating and discomfort. My thinking is I need to increase my physical activity and do it more often, maybe include weight lifting in addition to yoga and Pilates I’m already doing weekly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. You are an inspiration and a source of comfort.🥰🤗

I read your comment and thought, I get where you're at. I've learned that exercise is great for mental and health strength but not necessary for weight loss. I've been carnivore for 18 mos. I lost 40 lbs when I only wanted to lose 10 lbs. My weight has stabilized, and I've stayed at the same weight for over a year. I did end up going back up 8 lbs which was a surprise since I was eating the same. The body finds its own healthy range. Something that helped me in the beginning months when I stopped losing weight, was going to a site to log in daily just to be sure I was eating enough fat and I wasn't. My fat was way down. When I upped my fat to 75 percent, it worked. Hope you find success!

I was skeptical about this eating plan when I first heard you were doing it, but I am on week 2! I do buy only the 100% grass fed/pastured, etc. etc., but I have heard that people have success on any budget ( I don't have kids, so my $ goes to my food). 🙂 I am always full. Even when I think I should be eating (at my typical times), I can always wait another couple hours. Costco has many of the items I need at a great price. Also going to get all my blood work, including hormones, done again in a couple weeks. I sleep like a baby and wake before my alarm lately. I have not weighed myself yet, but I am noticing a difference in the mirror. You've done a great job doing this for your health! I enjoyed this video! Thank you!

@@DebbieDooo I just follow what Lisa talks about here. A typical day (for me) would be coffee with collagen (which I am just finishing then not going to purchase again), a beef patty (or 2) or 2 hard boiled eggs w/2 slices of bacon (make sure no sugar) with Redmonds salt in the morning, lunch/dinner could be 2 beef patties with salt and mustard, or chicken thighs cooked in ghee or bacon grease, or salmon with ghee, or liver/heart/beef mixture, all on the stovetop. Sometimes 1/2 an avocado or broccoli (if I want to mix it up). I also have 100% beef sausages I can mix in. You may want to try this and get rid of the fruits (for sure). I eat sardines too. Going to incorporate wild shrimp and steaks (next time I go shopping). Fruit has a lot of sugar, which could be causing inflammation, insulin resistance and fat storage. Also, I follow Dr. Ken Berry. Between him and Lisa, I have learned a lot! I like his book, Lies My Doctor Told Me. 🙂 I just started, so I am still learning also.

Your videos are a godsend to me. I am post menopausal and started developing GI issues. It is pretty severe and unwavering. The only thing that has helped me is keto. So far keto friendly veggies are not bothering me 🤞I cannot drink alcohol or caffeine (very hard on the gut) The only thing I can drink is water. I think if you have had gut issues you will do anything to change that .. .. so NO CHEATING .. .. I think I will forever have PTSD surrounding food. Horrible. I am sorry you had to deal with this too but your videos are so very helpful to me. God bless you, Lisa.
