If I can do keto and IF anyone can. I was a sugar carb addict. I followed Dr Berg on RUclips and lost almost 75 pounds. Didn’t spend money on any gimmicks or products just followed his way of keto/IF. He has thousands of videos. Educate yourself and get started in a new life.

@@MyMaria1224 no yogurt. Too many carbs. If you go to Dr Bergs RUclips channel look for his video on where to start keto. I’ll find it and send the link. Here’s the link ruclips.net/video/vMZfyEy_jpI/видео.html. The other Dr I follow on RUclips who I think is fantastic is Dr Berry. He has daily videos and every Monday night has a great one hour show. Again, these are free and you don’t need to buy special food. Have tried every diet on the planet including spending thousands at weight watchers, Jenny Craig and Lindora spent several thousands only to have my weight return ten fold.

I so hear you Lisa on making good choices for the body. I have lost 24 pounds in 2018 and was able to keep it off for two years until Covid hit. I remember feeling the same in the mornings when I could wear anything and it looked good and felt comfortable. I have gained almost all of the weight back during Covid and as of two weeks ago decided to choose something that makes me feel better than food. I’m choosing myself. Thanks for your positive, warm videos!

The beginning of your video mirrored me exactly. I just turned 54 and had terrible IBS issues. I ate two big salads almost everyday along with more veggies at dinner. I never EVER EVER put those two things together until I heard you mention it in a previous video. My issues also started in perimenopause but I thought the loose stools were from stress or sometimes anxiety. I did keto for one year over 3 years ago and only lost a little in the first 4 months. I eventually gave up. There was not the info we have now. Ha I started following Dr Berry when he had about 500 followers as he was just beginning his keto journey. After watching your videos and doing my own new research I started my keto journey again 11 weeks ago. I’ve lost 15lbs and I forgot how great I would feel EVERY SINGLE DAY. I’m sleeping better and my bathroom trips are perfectly normal. I am so happy. I’m not a big fan of Dr Berg...as some of his info is not correct, but I love Dr Eric Westman ~ Adapt Your Life and Dr Ben Bickman. These two doctors, and a little nudge from you, have changed my health trajectory moving forward. My body just doesn’t process carbs well and this will be a lifelong struggle for me. Why We Get Sick by Ben Bickman is fantastic. He is a metabolic doctor and explains why this really is the best way to eat. Most people will be fine with higher than keto amounts but we have to heal the insulin resistance. I had a complete hysterectomy 6 months ago so I’m finally at 54 in menopause and I am so happy to be losing weight. 💖 Thank you Lisa 😘

I totally relate to everything you said. I lost 30 pounds at age 50 and loved being able to wear anything and felt so good! Then I got lazy again and am now approaching 60 in January and need to get back on track! Gained so much weight in the past few yrs eating anything and everything. I hate having my picture taken or looking in the mirror. My husband is a great cook and naturally thin so it's a struggle for me to not eat everything and now living in Florida everywhere we like to go at the beach restaurants is fried with french fries. I am definitely a carb person and crave bread and pasta and potatoes etc. Not good. And love my wine. I'm not a big dessert person luckily. Need to find what works to eat and feel satisfied and fits into our life. But definitely need to find myself again. I have a closet full of clothes that don't fit! Enjoy your honesty and videos. Thank you.

It's so refreshing to hear and discuss wanting to be thin.... because it makes you feel good! And to not feel like it's vain, or that you need to apologize for it! I love your message, and it's so nice to hear from someone that shares my motivation. It's not vain to want to feel good, healthy, comfortable in my clothes. So much is in media that we need to accept people who are comfortable in their skin at all sizes, and I'm comfortable in my skin when I'm thin, but this gets vilified as vain, or fat shaming, and it's not, it's me about me comfort zone (48 years old). So yes Lisa, yes! Love you, thank you for the inspiration!!! Erin

I totally agree about those "feel good" days - I ran up the stairs the other day like I was 18 instead of 60. When I cut out fast-burn carbs and sugar, the thing I noticed first was the disappearance of joint pain. It happened so quickly that I wanted to doubt it! The other thing that disappeared was the "ball" in my abdomen that felt like a giant hard cyst. When I saw your video about having the same feeling - and that it went away - I started the new way of eating THAT day. Thank you Lisa. I've been in menopause since age 40; I am now 60. The weight is coming off slowly; when I get discouraged, I just think about the positive changes that have already happened. Again, thank you SO much for your honestly and clear love for your subscribers.

My health mental and physical has always been important and this was a reminder to keep going. My question to you is are you exercising??? Because if you don't now is a good time! Your muscles and bones really start to weaken after menopause without weight training no matter how good you eat. It'll keep you curvy even without the extra 30. Keep on that health journey girl, it looks good on you!

Hi Lisa. The other day you talked about how earlier in your life you would clean your parents' house to save money to go to the mall, and John would match your earnings, and how excited you would be to have $100 to go shopping. I would like to ask how you went from then to now when, as a viewer, I have the impression that you have unlimited amounts of money to buy all the pretty things you love? Do you budget your spending? Also, what are some of the important values you try to teach your children about money, spending, and consumption? Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Love your lip combo!! I went through menopause at 49. I have really felt the effects of menopause. My weight did shift. Earlier this year I started HRT and it has *restored* by cognition and mental recall. My skin is so much better, too. Would never go back. I've been on Keto for over a year and I'm stalled but I'm considering this is where my body is meant to be post-50. I'm not really overweight. I've had nine children and I'm proud of my body. :-) And I can see a difference in my face if I lose too much. Can't wear "whatever I want" but I'm very tall. And I'm not naturally curvy. What you say about the food mental obsessions is real. We all know about that planning the next meal in our minds and I really think it is due to the blood sugar levels. Sugar/carbs is indeed a physiological/psychological "dependence" (to a certain extent). I don't miss them either, Lisa. It's notable (not in my imagination). I can eat the SF Reddi Whip in my coffee, for instance, and I feel treated. I'm glad I made the choice to go low-carb. It really does free you. Peace, Lisa! Have a great Thanksgiving.

Lisa I was so excited to hear more about your weight loss journey. Everything you said today was what I needed to hear, especially going into the holidays. I have been following a keto lifestyle for a while but continue to fall off the wagon. It is those opportunities like Halloween and oh it’s Thanksgiving - well I can’t miss out on pumpkin pie- it’s always something that comes up and somehow I feel like I’m missing out. But the reality is I missing out on being my best self. I am post menopausal as well, due to an early hysterectomy, and have struggled with my weight for the past 20 years. Currently I’m down 30 pounds from my highest weight but can’t seem to get over the next hump .Your video has given me the motivation to just get back on the wagon and stay there for myself.
When you talk about your stomach situation, the I BS, the bloating, but not being able to eat salads, it’s like you’re telling my story. I’ve been to every doctor been told I have SIBO have been on a low fod map diet, I’ve done it all. Keto has definitely helped my stomach as well and that has made me feel great. But I have a lot of extra cellulite and fat around my body I have been told that eating more carnivore of a diet is a great way to lose fat. Have you felt like you’ve lost weight in a different way this time? I mean do you feel like it came off of your body in a different way than just regular dieting?

Yay! I can’t believe you found your blazer! I love stuff like that. I want to ride horses again like I did when I was not overweight. I keep trying.

On Amazon, you can get the Aqua Bliss High Output Shower Filter. It attached to your shower head to filter out all the bad stuff in the water.

I started Low carb high good fat and lost 40 pounds. I feel so good and have become more active, kayaking, hiking. I realized I gave up buying nice stylish clothes. I’ve started replacing items in my closet. If it is old and frumpy it is gone. I want to wear things that make me feel good. I’ve been watching you and have grown my hair out and get so many compliments.

I have had IBS for decades, and I do know that carbonated drinks are a trigger. I gave that up years ago and I do not miss it. However, I cannot give up caffeine.

You described me to a "T" Lisa! I absolutely fell in love with the videos you and Tammy did together when you travelled out to see her. I will definitely look for your videos on what you eat, because I'll be 60 in 6-months and I weigh what you weighed before you started this journey of changing your "habits." I had resigned myself to the fact that I'll never be 129 lbs again, but you've inspired me to get that idea out of my head! Thank you Lisa! You are just so gorgeous and I thank you for being honest and being YOU!! All my best, Lisa

Lisa I’m a Virgo too and love my routine! You are so right about not eating the junk because you just won’t feel good. It makes it much easier to pass on the treats. I’m also on a weight loss journey and have lost 30 pounds since August. Been in menopause @1 year and actually has not been too bad 💕

Questions: Lisa, do you drink coffee in the morning? I think that will be the hardest thing for me to change, my half and half and sugar in my coffee. Also, stupid question , I know. Have you always gone to bed early? I have a high school teenager and I feel like I have to stay up until he goes to bed, which is later than he used to go to bed. I struggle with this, and don't get enough sleep at all. Wonder how you handled your kids at that age, since you seem very close and involved with your kids. I agree sleep would help me so much with my weight.

Hi Lisa I’m wondering why you quit eating salads? Was that affecting your IBS? I remember you eating one daily.

❤️ I can totally relate to what your saying💕
You look amazing & you motivate me so much🤗
My question would be ~ what do you enjoy drinking ( I know you drink a Diet drink once in awhile) but, what else? Also, other then chicken breast I’m not a meat eater ~ any suggestions?
I have IBS myself so, I have to be careful. What keeps you full all day? I’m usually not hungry till 1-2 pm~ And do you stop eating by 6-7pm?
    Thank you🤗

Amen! I started the carnivore/keto lifestyle along with intermittent fasting over a year ago due to Hashimoto diagnosis. I turned 50 this year and I feel better now than I have in the last 6 years! When I divert from what I know works well for my body, it usually takes a few days to get over..😣
Emotional eating is a real thing and holidays are tough.
Replace those rewards is key 🔑!
I reward myself with a massage vs food.

I know that you mentioned previously that you were at your goal weight of 125 give or take. Now that you are at your goal weight, what are you going to do different to maintain your weight rather than continue to lose especially since you are not hungry?

In the beginning we miss the nostalgia of food and food related memories and holidays. I find as I press forward that that has faded and new things have replaced that old stuff I thought made me happy.

There were a few questions about the title; 40 and over entails anyone who is over 40, period. we know she's 50, she's always clear abou her age, the title is more inclusive. As, weight can be harder for some to mange after 40.

It’s not easy to do consistently, but I remind myself of this: “nothing tastes as good as feeling fit feels”! For me, consistently working out is key, too, it works (for me!)! 😊
    You look gorgeous! ☺️

Lisa congrats on the commitment made to yourself and the positive journey results! Just want to mention it almost felt you were narrating my own journey. Yes, you are making sense, total sense! We tend to “give into” the things that bring you comfort! Creatures of habit! And finally cannot believe that just by eating healthier and no exercise one can lose 30+pounds, and there and it feels good not to crave the sugar or carbs, you tube helps when you need a motivation boost as you said! Blessings! Keep up the good work stay safe and strong 💪 👌😊

THANK YOU for reminding me about everything! I lost weight twice in the last 10 years- and I ABSOLUTELY felt exactly like you said-energy, sleep-feeling fabulous"-I even said nothing taste as good as feeling good!!!!!" Time to get my life back!!! Tell me one thing you eat on the run if you are out of the house and need to eat? I keep a foil pack of tune fish in my purse and that is getting very old-not satisfying !!!!!!! XOXOXOXO
