I actually had a doctor tell me that it is normal to gain weight and be tired as we age. So I lived with that mentality for 10 years.
Now I dropped 45 pounds and feel better then I have in so, so long! You will never be as young as you are right now.

I’ve been a Dr. Berg devotee for 2 years. I am almost 60. I do not have to lose weight, but I wanted to make sure I stayed healthy and keep my mind sharp. I have been doing keto/IF for a year as well as exercise 5-6 days a week... it has been amazing! BTW, try Dr. Berg’s bacon, avocado, egg salad! That’s my 2:00 break of the fast!

This is so so what I need right now!!! I’m in my mid 40’s and I feel like I cannot eat anything and am still the heaviest I have been since I was pregnant! Ugh it so frustrating and all the symptoms, I get dizzy if I try not to eat too much, then feel terrible when I do eat. Then I’m tired, ugh.. I’m sure this is nothing new to this community of women!,, I am so so happy to have found your channel and appreciate honesty and openness! Thank you SO much!

I will be 59 next week and went through hell with menopausal weight gain. I wish I had this knowledge when I started. I gained so much weight it was crazy! I have been Intermittent Fasting for 3 years this month and eating mainly keto and have been able to lose the weight and maintain my weight loss. thanks Lisa! I just discovered you last week and kicked off keto and IF on Sunday.....today is Tuesday and I'm down 4.8 lbs.....at 63, that is unbelievable to me. I've struggled so much and would get depressed about my weight....so feeling good and just wanted to share. Love your porch.

@@kristine2258 , hi there! I'm keeping it rather simple. I'm also doing Intermittent Fasting as well. I'm eating 1 meal a day about 130 or 2 in the afternoon. I have a large green salad the size of my dinner plate with olive oil and vinegar. I use only non starchy veggies, but include some avocado and olives. Today I had a 5 oz steak with my salad and my "dessert" was a couple of thin slices of organic raw milk cheese. Left me satisfied. One day I made a nice chef salad and included hard boiled egg.....another day salmon.Tomorrow I may just have a late breakfast with a veggie omelet and turkey bacon. I want to include more seafood, because truthfully I'm concerned about cholesterol. However this way of eating agrees with me and I don't wake up hungry. I also have a container in the fridge of plain Greek yogurt...I thought of mixing some cinammon with it and some walnuts on top. I have 40 lbs to lose, so I may transition into Atkins for a time and then back to Keto.....I'll see how it goes...with atkins you can have berries which is nice. Right now I'm not craving anything and feel very "even". I wish you much luck with this Kristine. One more thing......I cleaned out the fridge and cabinets and went grocery shopping the day before. Let me know how you're doing!

I eat once a day, usually between 4-6p. This has definitely helped regulate hunger and my overall energy. I need to go back to keto for a while to lose the weight that has crept back on. When I did it it before, I lost 50 lbs in 5 months....the pounds just melted away, and I had way more energy and better cognitive ability 💃🏻

Same here. I have been eating OMAD for 3 years and I eat between 10:30am-1130am and I'm done (with the exception of Saturdays, I have a longer window). This works for me because I do not like going to bed on a full stomach. I sleep better on an empty stomach. I'm in my mid 50's and have a very girlish figure that I have effortlessly with eating one meal a day, plant based, high carb.

Hey Lisa! First of all you look amazing!! I have been fasting and Keto again for a month now and I love it. I eat once a day anywhere between 5-6 and the belly fat is melting off. In the first week I lost 4p. I was a snacker in between meals and at 39 I realized I can not do that anymore. And the sugar was what was hurting me. So I’m so happy I finally got over that. Love this so much !!!! I’ve been doing intermittent fasting a few weeks. My eating hours are 1-5 sometimes I will do 2-6 but I fast 20 hours every day. I will admit I do a 34 hour fast once every couple weeks. I personally don’t eat red meat~ I eat chicken breast & soy.
I do spinach in my egg beaters. I will eat a low calorie muffin once every couple weeks with my egg beater or I’ll use the 70 calorie carb free wrap with egg & soy sausage & I’m so full. I eat once a day between 1-5 or 2-6 but, I do not eat after 6
I have the Debrow intermittent fasting book. I do see they came out with a new one Keto/intermittent. They merged the diets together. I have not read it yet. I laughed when you mentioned your hubby snacking after supper because my hubby ( John ) will do the same thing but, he’s grabbing a big bowl of chocolate ice cream 😂 I’m like you as I don’t want him telling me what to eat so I don’t tell him however, he’s 55 also like me & I will suggest healthy options. But, I leave it at that. He’s never had a weight problem however, I still think he could be picking a healthier snack. I can see treating yourself but, his is nightly😂
Anyway, I feel so much better with this Intermittent fasting I’ve been doing & I am losing weight because I need to. I gained 45 this last 2 years & felt miserable. I was officially post~menopause a year ago & my joints just ached & tummy issues as well. I still have some tummy issues. I do take probiotic & benefiber which helps but, I believe my new way of eating has 100% helped me & I’ll be back in my favorite citizens of humanity jeans soon🥰 plus, I have so much more energy & I feel happier. I’m so excited about this journey your on & look forward to every video you make! Thank you Lisa💕

I'm so glad you found something that's working for you. That's the key. I tried intermittent fasting and it didn't work for me. I don't know why but I was gaining weight. But giving up sugar and rarely eating breads and pasta is what is working for me. Making what ever you decide to do a lifestyle change is so important as you're doing and it's why it's working for you. Lisa you look absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad you're sharing your healthy lifestyle. Congratulations to you on your weight loss 💖💖💖BTW I agree how we feel is the most important. Is it just me or is this just creating a calorie deficit? surely, that will create weight loss whatever you are eating? I love vegetables and have to eat a lot of them. Also, I work a very hectic job, I would be scared not to eat breakfast or lunch because I feel like I would faint. I’m eager to learn more but sceptical of eating so little.

I'm 50 and have done keto before but I started again and added intermittent fasting this time too. I eat around 1:30pm but only have iced coffee, heavy crw cream, sugar free hazelnut syrup and that will keep me happy until like 5pm. The answer is in the fat. Eat the healthy filling fats and keep eating windows short. My body this time is loosing weight in the right places. I'm perimenopausal and had my last period 6 months ago. It is calorie deficit but the fats will fill you up so you aren't hungry.

I saw another comment from someone regarding Dr. Gundry. He is a cardiologist. I appreciate his scientific approach. His advice is somewhat strict, but I do follow him. I have had to move to two meals daily because I am the low end of my BMI. Also, I get the levels of essential vitamins and minerals checked regularly. I am so happy for you, Lisa. Your program sounds similar what I followed when I first started. Although, I did not eat meat at first. Dr. Gundry has helped me to amend my diet. You seem so happy and peaceful.

I'm going to share this w/my daughters (45 & 46) as well even for myself (67 nxt month) There are so many ways to make good changes (& not $$$) to feeling better inside, outside & in your head. We all have long (ass) stories but even 1 step to begin will help! So thank you, thank you & I am so very, very happy for you. It took too long before I quit listening & doing all sorts of things the Dr.'s (thought, guessed or felt it didn't matter for me) had to say. So HOORAY & GREAT FOR YOU 😊 All your research is really going to be a big help for your ladies. Thank you again 🤗❣

Hi Lisa! I have been doing intermittent fasting for years before it ever had a name. Don't know why except that I have always been a person that doesn't get hungry. I drink water in the morning and have a collegen drink. Go to the gym then when I get home around 1:00 I have a huge salad with usually salmon because I don't care for beef, chicken or turkey much. I usually have more veggies for dinner and then eat nothing more until 1:00 the next day. I am 69 years old and have maintained my weight my whole life. I think eating this way and keeping up a consistent exercise regime has kept me healthy and vigorous. Also, I have never suffered menopausal symptoms and I believe this is why! Good for you and much success in your journey!!!

I watched Dr. Berg too when I first started intermittent fasting, he had some very informative videos. What I liked was you can tweak it to your schedule and lifestyle. For me, the first 2-3 months I would get so "hangry" right as I was reaching the 16-17 hour window but I stuck with it and lost around 23 lbs within about 4-5 months. It has also helped me to incorporate more nutritious food because you learn that will sustain you and help lose the "hangry" feeling, Dr. Berg's videos talk about that as well. You look great Lisa!

This Keto way of eating has really helped me! I'm a Type II Diabetic. I need to lose 100 lbs!!! Since June 1, 2020, I have lost 30 lbs. Thanks for this video Lisa. I honestly feel exactly the same as you about IF and keto. It actually makes me excited, so weird. Haha. Just yesterday and this morning I've been sharing with my husband Will about how I feel so much better. He has seen the energy I have now, and emotionally I'm so much better at dealing with stress. He's actually did skip breakfast for last 2 days! I totally agree that men can handle food and snacking different then us women after 45, I'm 57 btw. He'll have his beer, pretzels, popcorn in the evening and I swear if I sit to close my insulin probably goes up, kidding of course. I also wanted to ad that I too follow Dr Berg and others to understand my body during IF. It's so difficult to find many people doing video's about IF and Keto for women over 45. I am so happy for you that you're doing so well. I have a long journey in what I'd like to achieve in weight loss. So far 13 lbs down in 3 weeks! Feeling fantastic has been the most rewarding in this journey. About 30 pounds to go! No rush, but not having body aches, and pains, swelling hands and feet, no bloating,..ah, it's a great thing!..Oh, and so loving the video there in NC. We lived in Emerald Isle for 6 months, we wanted to stay, but came back to Utah as we are new grandparents. Visiting family in VA in Oct and driving to Wilmington to check out area for possible move in 2-3 yrs. Love NC. Stay well and happy.

Everything changed at 44. I don’t know what it was about that number but I know for certain that was indeed the number. starting your program today, I don’t even recognize this body or even my skin is so dry! I only gained 14 pounds since turning 44 last June but I feel like I look so different. Just 3 years ago I did Beachbody and lost weight with no problem. I tried that and a few others NOTHING works. It HAS to be what you speak of in these videos that’s the only thing that makes sense! And I love that you said what might work for someone else just doesn’t work for us anymore. I have girlfriends same exact age and calorie counting works for them but maybe in 2-3 years it won’t, luv u Lisa u r AMAZING & I just sit and listen to your videos all day it’s like hanging out with a friend♥️♥️

Lisa, I am 67 yrs old. Have always been told I look 10 years younger and always proud of trying to keep myself in shape. In 2012 had to retire on disability due to fibromyalgia and fatigue. Both diagnoses haven’t improved and exercise is not an option. I read everything related to fibromyalgia and fatigue. At the time of diagnosis I had lost so much weight due to the onset of my illness. Now, 8 years later, have gained so much weight. I’m not obese but my weight is mostly from the “belly” up. My bra size is a 42DD. Finding tops that fit are almost impossible. Strangely, my favorite denim is Wit & Wisdom (Nordstrom brand) and can still wear a size 12. I did wear a size 8-10, before the weight gain gradually started 2 years ago. Initially, when diagnosed my size was a 6. I’m mortified to be seen by friends because of the weight gain. It makes me feel so ugly. My self-confidence is rock bottom. You have changed my entire perspective on weight loss. I know being heavier is not good for my health and, like you, I have stomach issues and it’s hard to find the right foods that work for me. I’m determined to read your suggestions and try intermittent fasting. You are so beautiful and look amazing! Please say a prayer I have the willpower to lose this weight and keep it off. On another note, can you recommend a realtor, in Wrightsville Beach? My husband and I would like to take a vacation their and prefer a house with a pool or, a condo. Thank you so much for being the friend I’ve never met. Susan from Hillsborough NC 💕💕

You should watch At Stephanieketo recent video, she is in her 50ies been keto for over 15 years, still menstruating, recently she interviewed women age 25-60yo and how fasting has destroyed their health, morning coffees on empty stomach and how it stresses out our adrenals, thyroid, estrogen progesterone/ balance etc ....including leading to low thyroid, binge eating, messing up hormones, automimmmine illnesses, muscle loss, flabby skin ... remember male fasting gurus who gives us all those suggestions has never had a period, neither he has given birth to a child to understand how women hormones work ...

I know some may say that I didn’t need to lose the weight but I look the best I have really ever looked because it leans me out and I have muscle (I do yoga, weights, and Pilates) and abs for the first time ever!! I don’t do Keto because it doesn’t work with my brain chemistry (I am a psychology doctoral student and am familiar with brain chemistry) but I do eat mostly lean proteins, veggies and fruit with very little dairy- mostly goat dairy. Keep up the good work! 🥰

Hi Lisa. I recently started watching you and enjoy your videos. I am also a fan of Dr. Berg. He simplifies things. Makes fat loss attainable. I am past menopause....thank God! I can fast well when at home but not so much at work! I am a nurse and so stressful these days! People are always providing junk food because sometimes we miss lunch. Totally details me. A friend of mine had moved to Wilmington and was loving it! Then her son moved back to New York and she followed. I wish I had come to visit her. It looks magical! I live in San Diego and we have almost perfect weather. I love your fashion and makeup videos as well. I feel like I have a younger, hipper friend who can keep me on track. Do you do bullet proof coffee? I can go a long time if I have the coffee. And I love it. Thank you again. Oh the only thing that helped my menopause symptoms was vitamin D. Unfortunately I don’t remember the dose.
