"No more superpowers" gives me the chills every time. My favorite line.
mine too
His whole speech is pretty epic, but "You can fire your arrows from the tower of Babyl, but you can NEVER STRIKE *GOD*!!!" as he singlehandedly denuclearizes the world is iconic.
The Biblical reference is Hubris at it's peak, and yet, his demonstration evokes serious doubt about whether he may be right....
That's crazy because "you can fire your arrows from the tower of babyl, but you can never strike god" is right there
I love this Stan Cameo. I don't mind he talking or anything. But I love the fact they put him in a coherent way. He, hugging his wife (who was his real wife), impress and scare meanwhile we can see the missiles in his iconic glasses. Is kinda beautiful.
He's said this was his favorite cameo because of Joanie
Sadly It was the last cameo of Joan Lee before passing.
He actually did a good thing here by getting rid of all the Nukes of the world and launching it into Space, basically saving Mankind in the long run.
All while turning them into slaves
@@vivatotti10and and then humanity would've been slaves. Same with firearms
Sadly, he didn't get '...rid of all the Nukes of the world' as you suggest. He forgot to eliminate all the tactical nukes.
“Mutually assured destruction” is no longer a thing, therefore there aren’t any deterrents from any nations starting another world war.
And all those wars that the Nukes prevented? Now will happen. Because there is very little to hold people back.
You know for an Egyptian Mutant Demigod, he sure loves making a lot of biblical references!
Truth can be found anywhere, in anything, in anyone.
This particular reference was omitted from the word. I'm not sure why, it is almost key to why Babylon needed to go
He was the Hebrew God as well...Elohim
Elohim isn't the name of God. It's a title. Apocalypse threw out a lot of names, but the one name he didn't use, and rightly so, was Yahweh, or the more common Jehovah. 1 Corinthians 8:5 reminds us, "Despite the existence of many so-called gods in heaven or on earth, for us, there is truly only one God, the Father, from whom all things come and for whom we exist." If the writers had put in Jehovah's name in their screenplay, that would have been... not good. Humans can be like gods, but they can NEVER be God Almighty.
@@kxmodeNot real
When he says, "No more stones." I was like, "Dude really going to get rid of the Infinity Stones"
This movie could and should've been so much more, Apocalypse needed the Thanos treatment, a two part epic movie.
Who do you think would win between them
@@AlfreditinVSlife Apocalypse should've won with his powers.
Agreed, this scene should have had the nukes directed to ground based targets and essentially wiping out not only humanity but “weakling mutants.” Only the strongest mutants survive the fallout which is what Apocalypse would view as extraordinary.
You geeks are unbelievable. You're never happy. This is a powerful scene but you think you're better at writing and directing. You think you know it all. But where is your X-Men adaptation??
@@LukeLovesRose Well I mean, just because I can't cook I can still tell if something is tasty, or foul, right?
Sooo Apocalypse just brought humanity back from the brink of nuclear extinction…is it just me or does that make him the good guy?
@@flennboyd6413 I am with you my brother.. I am with you..
Well true, but he did this so he can’t be rivaled and he basically planned to enslave humanity for his mutant empire he would rule as a tyrant
So yeah he did the good thing, but no this doesn’t make him good guy
Not quite, he needed to remove the nukes or he can be rivalled pretty quickly but I notice only two of the three arms of the triad were destroyed, the ICBM and the SLBM. Didnt see the Strategic Bombers taken out so one arm is left. Whether the USAF and Russian Air Force wanted to send the bombers is another matter.
I think it was more like sending a message to humanity
Getting rid of all nukes so they can't be used on him as he takes over the world. Not exactly a good guy.
The most powerful and dangerous mutant of all time
Yep, Stan Lee
Matthew Malloy? What about him?!
And Michael Korvac?
oh yeah ? one nuclear weapon is more than enough to kill 10 k apocalypse
@@hush4522 I don't know what your talking about.... Apocalypse is a class 5 mutant and a Omega level mutant which means he is way above a Alpha mutant.
Can you imagine how terrifying it would be to be going about your normal life and suddenly hear the deafening roar of those missile engines as every single one is streaking into the sky
Or for the Sirens to start going off.
@@Gothic7876it's worst since the sirens aren't going off
I’d think fallout 2.0 live action was starting
I dont care what anyone says. This is a very powerful scene in a very powerful, and underrated movie
the way they distorted Apocalypse's voice just makes his villain speech even more terrifying
Im not sure that’s the intent. While it does have that effect, im thinking it’s more suppose to show he’s corrupted so many minds by taking them over that the voices all merged together.
@@hush4522 wrong. His voice has absolutely nothing to do with who he’s connected to. He also isn’t physically or psychically connected with anyone other than using Xavier as a proxy.
That literally just was apocalypse’s voice.
@@Vixxie_Aerogosa perhaps i should elaborate:
Moira mctaggert explained that he took over the bodies of various mutants over the years and amassed various abilities in the process. I was referring to those minds and those voices. Not the minds/voices of the minds he was connected to through charles xavier.
His voice changes and his eyes whiten when he uses his power.
Apocalypse has the best lines yet never really sticks in memory. I wonder why. His speeches are truly the best parts of this film.
Same thing with Ultron. A good performance with many philosophical musings, yet many people don't really care for the movie.
@@MBGroth I remember Ultron though. Ultron was great.
@@djco8919 Ultron *WAS* great, which made the fact that they confined him to a single movie all the worse. Ultron is one of the Avenger's most enduring and prolific adversaries. He's brought the team down on their knees and almost beat them (or has actually beaten them in some alternate universes/timelines) and they made him a one movie villain. Complete and utter waste of a villain that had loads more potential.
@@Xylarxcode True I wish they would bring him back, but for what he was in the MCU, I liked it.
@dj co i loved his lines about starting humanity out and being able to destroy it to make it grow more. Not the concept, but, his delivery. It’s so…confident and so…idk, on brand for a megalomaniac.
This was the only time I felt ‘Apocalypse’ resonate with his comic counterpart ….. truely a chilling scene …… tbh this would be great if all nuclear weapons were destroyed, no person or country should have the ability to literally end the world.
Lmao we will just build more of them smoothbrain.

the music makes it so much better
Oscar Isaac did three heroes in the Marvel universe... Apocalypse, Moon Knight and Spider-Man 2099 Miguel O'Hara...
Here's what apocalypse said no more stones, NO MORE spears, NO MORE slings, NO MORE swords,NO MORE weapons,NO MORE systems and finally said NO MORE SUPERPOWERS😬😬😬😬😬
As mid as this movie may have been, Stan Lee says 1:14 was his favorite Marvel cameo. Probably because he gets to be with his wife.
is that his real wife ? thats so lovely

Beethovens music gives me the chills. No film composer comes close.
So technically apocalypse and thanos where the heroes we deserve.
I dunno... destroying all of the worlds nukes in the middle of the Cold War doesn't seem like a bad idea.
This is what I don’t get. Xavier says Apocalypse is a bad guy. Apocalypse literally helped Eric get over his childhood trauma, wife and daughter loss as well as helps Angel get back on his wings and ride the world of nukes. Meanwhile Charles could find every pedo, murderer, solve every crime out there to help the world and so much more yet he doesn’t. From my point of view the Jedi..I mean X-men are evil.
You forgot how Apocalypse wanted to wipe out humanity later
I loved this movie. 😢
If only the rest of the movie was up to the quality of this scene.
Apocalypse makes more sense than coward charles. He directly destroyed all the weapons created by human just to save the planet earth. But Charles never did this with his powers because he was too coward and busy behind flirting with other girls.
This is why we can never entrust anyone with too much power. Even a system in the hands of a pillar of good, such as Xavier, can be hacked and used for evil purposes.
Its my favorite Stan Lee cameo too RIP❤ love this movie too by the way
Imagine Apocalypse vs Sentinels from DOFP
The repercussions of this would change the world far more than even the destruction wrought by Magento. Every (?) Nuke is gone, launched into orbit (is it a stable orbit) and a lot of mobile systems destroyed, like ballistic subs.
The balance of power is changed and the really big consequence, the risk of Mutually Assured Destruction is gone.
Until a new nuclear strike force is built, the great powers could 'safely' go to all out war.
eg: if this happened today, NATO could just steamroll Russia with WW3 being a air war and precision bombing campaign.
@@atwm1898 and you graduated from the university of smartassery
Highly doubt that getting rid of nuclear deterrent would enable wars all around. War is bad for economy nowdays, russia is a perfect example of that
This is the most smooth-brained baseless theorizing I have ever heard. Safe to go to now go to all out war? You are off your rocker mate
I mean the orbit doesn't matter, most likely they'd return to earth and burn up in the atmosphere. I agree though all our war would be something a lot could then consider
They will replenish the launched nukes. They have thousands of them in the vaults.
I miss you 3000 Stan Lee.

Apocalypse saying "No more weapons” or "No more superpowers” should’ve been his voice for the entirety of the movie

Any scene with Master Stan Lee is epic

You're welcome :)
R.I.P. Stan Lee ❤
Apocalypse is the kinda guy to go to UN and tell them AI and tech will end humanity.
Lol. Well, the Sentinels kinda did end it
This proves Apocalypse was telepathic
I would really love to watch a video explaining what repercussions would have an event like this. That all the nuclear arsenal just vanished from the world suddenly.
That’s probably when we have an issue as shown in the red dawn films. No nuclear arsenal, no retaliation for deployment of ground troops. That’s my opinion. Im sure there’s a battalion of military advisors who have different ideas.
Nothing changes immediately, sure the nukes ready to be launched out of Subs and Missile silos are gone but the bombs attached to the Strategic Bombers are still present and any missiles or warheads in storage are still present so one arm of the nuclear triad is left (and ironically not covered here). Also the weapons factories are still online?

Don't no about you but the No more speech kinda sounded legit

Then i get chills when Xavier tells Alex, "Wreak havoc."
How is this a bad movie if I keep feeling the same thing every time I see it?
Because it's a middle of the road film quality wise, not the best but neither is it the worst. Compounding that fact are two issues. Number one, it was the direct sequel to days of future past, which was great, therefore making this one seem much lesser than it is by comparison. Number two, it's a mid film that features Apocalypse, one of the biggest and well known bads of the X-men, thus making the film feel like a it of a slap in the face towards Apocalypse.
Now personally I like this film. I enjoyed it the first time I watched it and I still enjoy it today. But I know for a fact it is not the equal of Days of future past or Logan. Long as you enjoyed yourself, never mind other's complaining.
I don't care what anyone says, I enjoy all the xmen movies

Apocalypse did that world one favor by ridding the entire nuclear payload into outer space.
He unintentionally built a suit of armor around the world. Youre welcome Stark.

It's actually from Beethovens seventh symphony.
When he says "no more superpowers" I like to think he's talking about mutant powers as well.
I am just happy I found out who built the pyramids
Apocalypse was extremely weak in this movie compared to how he normally is.

I agree, Nigler.

The final X-Men movie to have a Stan Lee Cameo 😢
This movie confirmed a long theory of mine for the X-Men universe, that God and Jesus Christ were either mutants or aliens. However, Apocalypse’s look is awful, he looks like a power rangers villain.

as he was an ancient mutant, so just like old time he wanted to rule the whole planet & make everyone his slaves including other mutants. that's why he wanted to acquire Charle's telepathic power..
I hate the be the bearer of bad news, but Apocalypse (old as he is) has a very poor grasp of orbital mechanics. ICBMs do not have enough energy to reach escape velocity, and he had them shot straight up with zero horizontal velocity with respect to Earth's surface.
They're all going to come right back down shortly, and even if they don't explode, will burst in the air and the whole planet will become Chernobyl. Good job!
I like the nerdy responses. Good point!
hmmm would not vectors and other math stuff be preloaded into the launch? i mean these are rapid response systems meant to be fired at a moment's notice. without coordinates fired at random most of the nukes would probably fall into the ocean or other unimportant areas the earth is a big place and nukes blast zones are not even enought to level a whole city so a small area per hit. and about this chernobyl thing the army tested what happens when you blow nukes in orbit it does little ish so just no.
Wait, wouldn't they just be stuck in the orbit?
Well, the First Class movie says that a nuclear Holocaust will only produce more mutants while tearing down human society, so that's still a win for Apocalypse😂
The best scene in the movie
Anyone else think of Kessler syndrome while watching the nukes go into space?
Apocalypse: "You can never strike God"

Seeing nukes go in the air always makes me sad because you know we're all fucked once that happens and there's nothing we can do but hope we can die quickly otherwise it's a slow dragged death in the aftermath as the majority of the world will be affected unless you are lucky enough to live in a seduced area where the rain clouds or wind won't bring radiation eventually but that's probably like 0.1% of the landmass.
Wreak Havoc...
what if he got the professor xavier power? no one can defeat apocalypse ☹️
This is the 1970s,once ICBMs and SLBM's are launched, they are off, no way they can be controlled in flight
I hope Apocalypse returns in Avengers Secret Wars
those warheads sure as fuck didn't reach escape velocity
No, but the Blackbird Hank build after is space worthy, so I imagine that the X-men's first job after was hunting down and securing the warheads before they could reenter the atmosphere.
Besides, nukes aren't that unstable, they require precise explosions to achieve fission, so reentry would cause the timing of the explosions to vary, thus preventing or limiting the achievement of super-criticality. World would still have to deal with major radioactive fallout, but it wouldn't be end of the world levels of devastation. Not compared to what would happen if all those nukes landed and exploded properly.
Non ?

My man Stan Lee got some good stuff, good on ya lad. If y'all are wondering he's fine up here, Bros a good basketball player.
I don't understand, all the military's have other nukes in storage that they would quickly restock the silos
This scene would be 10x times better if Apocalypse tried to send the nukes to every part of the world but when Havoc destroyed the Sceribro.. it's for somehow give Professor X chances to change the course of the destination to space rather than Apocalypse purposely sent them to space..that just dumb
