@joewhitehead3 Good question, I think there is a link that could be made...allow me to attempt to explain. With Apocalypse bringing him back to the concentration / death camp where he what he went through led to him discovering his power and how, by bringing him back to the birth place of his power, to show him how truly powerful he really is. I think the flashbacks of Charles were acknowledgement to where he began to understand his powers and develop them throughout their many years of friendship, doesn't quite compare to what he achieved under Apocalypse' tutelage, but had Erik not met Charles, he wouldn't of been able to accomplish what he did in that moment. I hope the MCU will get it right with Magneto. He doesn't just control magnetic metals, he can control electromagnetic fields. Which means he should have power over all matter, since that means he can manipulate atoms.
Everything is paramagnetic or diamagnetic, thanks to molecular orbital theory. If something isn't magnetic, it's just very very weak. A strong enough magnetic force will bring out how it works. So Magneto can move any matter using magnetic fields if he's strong enough anyways!
Magneto only has power over ferromagnetic metals: iron, cobalt, and nickel. which is to say not everything, but if yanked those metals from a body it would be like a gunshot wound.
I’m a firm believer that of Apocalypse’s horsemen, death wasn’t Angel. It was Magneto. We see here not anger, not sadness, but wrath and grief. The storm born fury of a man who has nothing to lose.
This was the perfect place to make magneto understand what he really is a force! This place is haunted with his most horrific memories, the soil has the blood meat & bones of his people. He can practically feel the iron from the blood of his people here. Great way to make him crazy over powered
If they gave Magneto his full power, especially his control over magnetism and electromagnetism, this little display of power right here would look like a cakewalk, compared to what he could actually do if he tried.
Not only his he a stand out mutant, but a stand out actor as well. You can clearly see in the film that he IS a top notch actor, clearly outshining almost everyone
And seeing him later with the huge Magnetic Field, you could clearly see what he is truly capable of.... Magneto is truly one of the best written Characters (old and young)
I'm fascinated that Apocalypse, when he said what he was called, first listed "Elohim"--Hebrew. Because he knew this name would be the most powerful to say to Erik. Erik, who--living in that camp, losing everyone he loved--had likely asked himself many times (like he did here) "Where is God?" "Where was God while HIs people suffered?"
Might be an unpopular opinion but Apocalypse is easily my favorite X-Men antagonist. The first mutant, who over thousands of years just grew stronger and stronger. So fuckin cool.

Hes short but the host his short. It makes sense to me. But his aesthetic is very bada** to me. It looks like Apocalypse just woke up from Ancient Egypt. He looks like hes been decorated as a God... which he was. The comics were wrong. Apocalypse was created in a time of great ignorance
we always knew magneto was powerful, but when apocalypse unlocked his true potential, its quite frightening how powerful he is. literally moved the earth and controlled the entire earths magnetic field.
Just recently rewatched this again since the theaters and say what you will this movie does have some highlights and this scene is one of them. Both Fassbender and Issac are putting their all in this scene
Michael is a phenomenal actor, and the true humanity he was able to breathe into Magneto truly showed he was born to play him at this age, much like Ian was at HIS age!!!!...
This was one of my favourite scenes with Magneto. Apocalypse definitely had the better story and character development than Dark Phoenix did, which was a bit of a let down for me. No other actor can portray Magneto, Michael Fassbender was so perfect for this role ❤❤❤❤
YOUNG Magneto. Older, more experienced Magneto (Sir Ian McKellan) truly owned the role. Nothing would have existed without him and Sir PATRICK Stewart.
Always gfave the impression that magneto while grieving for his family, the touch of the magnetic field of the planet overwhelmed his grief, and due to the imensity of it, could barely grasped it
What they done to Oscar Isaac is a crime against humanity, what they done to Apocalypse deserves a nuremberg trial. This type of abomination is what made the MCU look so appealing
2:00 thats so intoxicating! Touching the core of the planet and knowing YOU alone can control the enormous ocean of molten metal just beneath the crust. 🤤
That's completely fair because Fassbender gets so much more to do than Sir McKellen ever did and we get to explore his trauma and emotional side more than we did with McKellen, who was more of a "bad guy" than Fassbender's Magneto
surprised to see no one mention the music swell at 2:33, which sounds almost EXACTLY like one from the shawshank redemption: specifically, when andy escapes from prison and lets the euphoria of freedom wash over him. this almost feels like a dark mirror to that scene, since magneto is experiencing freedom in a sense; that is, freedom from the former bounds of his power, but in his case, the feeling that washes over him is sadness. anhd like andy's freedom is baptized by rain, magneto's by earth and metal. some might say comparing this movie to a classic like shawshank is giving it too much credit, and theyre probably right. but hey, you never know
Magneto's power is one of the most powerful in the entire world. He can lay waste to an entire city with a whim yet fine tune his skill to rip the iron in your blood from your body.
@@neversleepfreak yeah but he wasn’t juiced by apocalypse then. The magnetic field here is so strong it’s demolishing a wide area. At minimum is would affect the electrical charges in the body at such a close proximity.

100% agree
Damn
2:43 gives me chills everytime. The music peaks and Magneto just ROARS!
The score reminds me of the music in Shawshank Redemption when Andy finishes his escape.
@@Mrraugut Thought the same. The whole scene seems heavily inspired by it. Not just the score. Also how the camera goes up to a birds eye view.
@@MrraugutI thought the same as you
This was the perfect place to make magneto understand what he really is a force!
This place is haunted with his most horrific memories, the soil has the blood meat & bones of his people. He can practically feel the iron from the blood of his people here. Great way to make him crazy over powered
Yes, destroyed it
its that very moment where he is just that powerful as a mutant and know one knew it and that is what makes magnetos powers truly terrifying
Fr, I don't think they could've picked a better actor to play magneto
And seeing him later with the huge Magnetic Field, you could clearly see what he is truly capable of.... Magneto is truly one of the best written Characters (old and young)
This scene is astonishing he did not know his potential apocalypse unlocked it this is one of the best x men ☝️💯
“I understood that reference”
it really makes you sit here and wonder, how OP Magento is, bro could have soloed the whole x men alone....besides Charles
he could but he never would have killed xmen cause they were mutants like him his enemies were humans
Yahweh was His Name. And then it was Yeshua
Damn
Magneto’s scream with the music gives me chills
Fassbender is such a great actor on so many films
Might be an unpopular opinion but Apocalypse is easily my favorite X-Men antagonist. The first mutant, who over thousands of years just grew stronger and stronger. So fuckin cool.
Say what you want about this movie but the way it’s cut together with First Class is excellent
Magneto has powers and abilities that make him capable of doing such things.
thanks for letting me know
Shaw helped him unleash his power.
Charles helped him control his power.
Apocalypse helped him master his power.
This is the closest to the full potential of magnetos power the movies have shown.
The chills. The rest of the team could only marvel at what sheer, raw power looks like. What a scene.
Magento here is one of the few live action characters that is actually close in power to his comic version.
This movie may have missed its potential, and I get why ppl don’t like it, but I actually enjoyed it, and mostly because the Magneto scenes. Michael’s one of my favorite actors, and he has some great scenes in this movie. He’s always been pushed into his villainous rage by the outside world
“Where were you when my parents were slaughtered?” Apocalypse be like - “man I was napping for over 2000 years and my alarm didn’t wake me up until the 80s dawg.” 😂😂😂😂😂
2:37 even apocalypse had to close his eyes in awe..he knew he had just hit the jackpot...a guy who could control one of the four fundamental forces in the universe...nuclear (weak and strong), gravitational and electromagnetic.
A literal force of nature
this scene "almost" makes Apocalypse look great, and the voice change as the scene goes on really fits a grittier version of the cartoon. If he was like this for the whole movie it would have been MUCH better (and a little more buff)
This scene made magneto my favorite..you understood his rage and pain
this shows how truly powerful magneto is i love it cause he was my fav villain from the comics
Magento is on Omega level Mutant.
He copied Dr. Polaris
Apocalypse Barely can crouch down with his costume. 😂
2:42 damn!!!
we always knew magneto was powerful, but when apocalypse unlocked his true potential, its quite frightening how powerful he is. literally moved the earth and controlled the entire earths magnetic field.
he always could...it just never occurred to him.
Apocalypse didnt actually unlocked it, just showed magento what he has always been capable of. Thats why he is the 🐐
He seems to have a very calm and respectful approach to magneto. Hes like "ok i definitely want him on my team"
Fassbender was the perfect choice for magneto casting.
Best scene..erik is such a powerful character and actor
Magneto always was one of my favourite characters. And Michael Fassbender is great playing him.
I can't wait for Marvel Studios The Mutants or X-Men on MCU Phase 6 or 7.
Out of all movie scenes Ive seen, this is the one that made me cry and tremble.
When magneto other teammates realize they are just side characters.
Bro ain’t a omega level mutant for no reason 😂😂
Just recently rewatched this again since the theaters and say what you will this movie does have some highlights and this scene is one of them. Both Fassbender and Issac are putting their all in this scene
Magneto has THE coolest power set of all time.
Magneto deserves his own movie
A rare good scene in a otherwise disappointing film
you can feel how heavy he carried this movie + James McAvoy. Very chilling moment power of Magneto.
Oscar isaac killed it as Apocalypse.
Didnt even know it was him until i saw the credits.
They should have made a tv show about Magneto hunting nazis after the war.
Magneto is Omega level for a reason. No buff needed.
Everyone truly felt that scream of him finally letting go
Apocalypse: 2:20-2:26-2:30
2:42 This sounds identical to the score from Shawshank Redemption when Andy broke out.
I was thinking exactly the same.
The build up of the scene is also similar
Michael Fassbender carried these movies so much, he has great range
Always gfave the impression that magneto while grieving for his family, the touch of the magnetic field of the planet overwhelmed his grief, and due to the imensity of it, could barely grasped it
Sir, the nazis are gone, you’ve just destroyed the Holocaust museum.
What they done to Oscar Isaac is a crime against humanity, what they done to Apocalypse deserves a nuremberg trial. This type of abomination is what made the MCU look so appealing
Michael Fassbender delivered an excellent Magneto
i think magneto has the best moments in the x men movies specially that speech he gave in days of future past love it
No one in the MCU is as good of an actor as Fassbender
Michael Fassbender and Elizabeth Olsen 🔛🔝
2:00 thats so intoxicating! Touching the core of the planet and knowing YOU alone can control the enormous ocean of molten metal just beneath the crust. 🤤
I'm sure this is blasphemous, but I think I prefer Fassbender as Magneto to McKellen.
That's completely fair because Fassbender gets so much more to do than Sir McKellen ever did and we get to explore his trauma and emotional side more than we did with McKellen, who was more of a "bad guy" than Fassbender's Magneto
1:57 a visual representation of a magnetic field. Nice touch.
surprised to see no one mention the music swell at 2:33, which sounds almost EXACTLY like one from the shawshank redemption: specifically, when andy escapes from prison and lets the euphoria of freedom wash over him. this almost feels like a dark mirror to that scene, since magneto is experiencing freedom in a sense; that is, freedom from the former bounds of his power, but in his case, the feeling that washes over him is sadness. anhd like andy's freedom is baptized by rain, magneto's by earth and metal.
some might say comparing this movie to a classic like shawshank is giving it too much credit, and theyre probably right. but hey, you never know
You right.
Fassbender is such a good actor
Magneto had every right to do this. An example of someone whose being, abandoned, ignored and treated like trash for far too long.
Magneto's power is one of the most powerful in the entire world. He can lay waste to an entire city with a whim yet fine tune his skill to rip the iron in your blood from your body.
Kinda makes you wonder how they weren’t affected since he has the power to manipulate the metals in your cells.
Non magnetic metals are a thing
@@DarthDestructusTheSithLord there is more iron in our blood than every other metal combined
There isn't enough metal in the blood to be able to control it. This was mentioned in X2 when they break Magneto out of prison
@@neversleepfreak yeah but he wasn’t juiced by apocalypse then. The magnetic field here is so strong it’s demolishing a wide area. At minimum is would affect the electrical charges in the body at such a close proximity.
@@cmendr011 no, when I say X2 I mean with old magneto. He had already been juiced up. There just simply isn't enough metal in the blood for him to control it. What he said idk
Did not receive any power from Apocalypse himself while everyone else did to boost their own. Magneto was always this powerful he only had to find it within.
When the people are sad or angry, hes discover the power who they didnt know they have. And in real life is the same thing. In moments when you need to self defend, your body give to you the force to live. A force who you never imagine do you have.
The line "We will build a better one" Sounds so bad and borderline campy in this super intense situation
2:03-2:43 gives me goosebumps
2:38 in particular #juggernauts
As great of a scene this was its utterly hilarious to see Apocalypse standing at the same height as everyone else.
😂😂
You can just tell Oscar is having a hell of a time moving in that outfit
I cry everytime i see this so nigh rage sorrow and confusion and you can feel it in this scene from one scream from a man who doesn’t know what to do anymore because the world took everything from you
michael fassbender needs to reprise his role in the MCU. a legendary actor that was made for magneto 👏
It's kind of awesome how, at 0:20, Fassbender actually looks like a young Ian McKellan.
And right after this...the music man!!!
Omega level. Nuff said.
