Can you point out where the vapor canister vent purge solenoid is on your ford expedition?
My 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT is like yours and I need to know where that part is located.
I've searched for how to replace this and there are no vehicles similar to mine on RUclips except for yours.
Just a female trying to do my own repairs to save money.😊

i think the fact he never followed up with his bad diagnosis probably tells us it wasn't the torque converter.He said early on he no line pressure when it stops moving.the converter outer housing goes directly into the front where it drives the pump.If the inside splines of the converter were stripped,fairly common,it would stop moving because there is no connection the input shaft. Didn't see all the videos ,but my experience tells me you need to have gauges on it and drive it.....
Wrong. It was the torque converter. Look at my videos. You will see the final fix. Have a nice day.
Did the torque converter chirp? Between 4:25-4:40 I swear I’m hearing it under the engine tone and you talking! Mine chirps just like it and does not move forward just like this. Reason I asked because when you put in reverse it went from a cute chirp to a whine!?

new torque converter and it still did the same thing. In drive only
Nathan I have a 01 Ford Explore Sport that was stalling when i put it in Drive I changed the torque it stop stalling in drive for a few months now it's doing it again only when it's in drive it runs in P-N-R when i shift to drive it cuts off and won't move at all is it something else that could be causing this problem ?
pipsie james I’m having the same problem with my 04 Ford F-150 5.4 I got a brand new torque converter in and got the tranny rebuilt and I’m still having the same problem did you ever find out what the problem was

My 2000 f150 5.4 did the same thing...it was the tps sensor on throttle body..a 30 dollar part and 15 minutes for me to change it. All mechanic and tranny shops told me it was torque converter. Thats all it was and it runs like new. Throttle Position Sensor..trust me....All shops know this is a cheap repair. It's rare a torque converter goes bad .

A tps can make your suv run like crap an hesitates when driving but i changed mines already still doing it its not the tps

Hello I have the same truck with the same engine and my transmission got stock on forward only went I put the R, or N, it well go forward and make that nose and smells like oil burn any advice please thanks guys.

When u drove it did it seem like it wanted to go then didn't hesitaten cuz mines is doing this but was go change the egr did coils plugs wires an check fuel pump

You should have told ppl to rebuild the transmission or get another one with less miles changing the torque converter still self disttructs metal shaving all thru the transmission is not worth it
I have a mitsubishi adventure. I have it serviced for atf leak. After the service is done ang change the atf, engine now goes out in drive mode and gear 2 but can drive in the lowest gear. The mechanic said the torque converter had failed already and that they only gotten around 2 liters of oil from it. It's not like that before i have it serviced. Any advise guys?
