In 2020 I questioned my Adventist faith more than ever before. It resulted in my realization that Ellen White could not be a true prophet of God. And upon disregarding Ellen White I soon found I couldn't sustain any of my other Adventist beliefs on the Bible alone, without her to "prove" the Adventist interpretations. One by one they all fell like dominos, and today I am no longer an Adventist, but a simple Bible Christian.

My Adventist experience was/is very different. The position on her being a true prophet is scriptural-based. The same regarding the other Adventist beliefs. Those that use her writings as "proof" of anything in the Bible misused her writings. God alone is the foundation and the proof of what He said in His word.

Since I started attending SDA church and found how they rely so much on EG White in 2007 already, I started doubting this notion I had to reject the teachings. But since 2019 after I finally got my membership, after many debates over the years, I found too many red flags to the way of thinking and writings of EG White. Hence I finally decided this year to draw the line, since my conscience was bothering me too much to stay and the denomination knowing it to be a "lie" from the beginning. I too have studied my way out by God's grace in the last few years. I took the health message very serious and all the reforms and taught them. It was always difficult that there were so many contradictions and things we explain away. Being in a cult is hard to admit and we are trained to deny it and quote "the prophet" as to why we are not and if we dare to question we are "falling off the path into the dark world below". The more I studied and found the original sources for the health message and other writings the more it made sense. I got those books to read the original and they were from different people with differing ideas.
Everyone says how the books supposedly written by EGW have blessed them and have to be from a person with a close relationship with God, it is true, but it was not her. If you read Alfred Edersheim you will find one close to God who had his writings "borrowed" by her. For many years I have told people close to me how frustrated I was that it always seemed the more Bible truth I learned the more I had to fight against Ellen White. Being under her brainwashing or mind control with the threats and fear employed is torture and does not allow you to grow and learn even though she had written or borrowed that there "was much more light to come ". It's not allowed.
The "2300 days" that Adventism is founded on is not Biblically sound. They made a denomination off one verse taken out of context and misunderstood. Set dates and made many mistakes but instead of admitting the mistakes continue to cover it up and invent more unbiblical doctrines. We know that if the foundation is wrong the whole structure will be wrong.
I know how most will react to these comments and this video because I too used to have all the adventist answers and quoted the supposed " SOP" (which she was and is not). I realized that when studying with other people who were not adventist I quoted things that I couldn't remember if they were from the BIble or her writings, this is horrible and I knew there had to be a change as the messiah said it is written from the Word not EGW or any other human.
I pray all will ask the spirit of Truth to guide you into the truth as you study like the Bereans to see whether these things are so, don't automatically think you couldn't have been deceived.

Well said. The church foundation is built on a lie, then more lies. It took me years to study my way out. Mostly to overcome the programmed guilt to question egw that I received by family and even more so Adventist schools and academy. The abusive control from the congregations and schools is very sad. What is really sad are so many former members have become atheists because when they uncover the false doctrines they flee from christianity because they classify Jesus with sda and don't know Him personally. Even after years of leadership and education they never saw the rest of the scriptures and gospel. Please pray for them as well as others that are finding Jesus as they study their way out of the false truth. May everyone that visits this site receive the true freedom in Christ.

@@alexfrancis5685 To defend someone's integrity is indeed a noble and very commendable thing to do, but if it is proven that there are serious integrity issues, and one chooses to ignore those issues, then that'll be problematic. As SDAs, we take pride in being able to point out all that is wrong about Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russel, Roman Catholicism and all that are non-SDA; but when it comes to acknowledging what is wrong about Ellen White and Adventism, we become passionately defensive, and in some cases as I've witnessed, we become even hostile. We always talk about us being the chosen people of God, the remnant, the truth, those who keep the commandments of God etc., but we must remember that HONESTY MUST BE A MAJOR CHARACHTERISTIC OF THE TRUE PEOPLE OF GOD, AND WE HAVE NOT BEEN HONEST. We have not been HONEST about Ellen White. We've not told the whole truth. The White Estate and the GC hierarchy have always known that there are serious problems but have spent lots of time and money over the many decades trying to make those problems go away. I have no intentions to leave Adventism, but I cannot pretend that our church is rich, increased with goods, and hath need of nothing, when I know for a FACT that WE HAVE ISSUES. I know for a FACT that there are serious with the writings of Ellen White. As SDAs, WE NEED TO BE HONEST. WE NEED TO BE HONEST. WE NEED TO BE HONEST. Our leaders need to come out and tell the whole truth. What did the leaders who attended the 1919 Bible conference know? Why were these issues withheld from the wider church? Why did they hide away all the recorded minutes from that conference? If we don't earnestly seek God and embrace the principles of absolute honesty and truthfulness, then we're in for A GREATER DISAPPOINTMENT. May God help us to be HONEST.🙏🙏🙏

A great respect for someone like you who had the courage to present Truth about SDA and EGW. Her book Steps to Christ was the first book which touched my heart, but sadly discovered that she was not the original author. It took the Holy Spirit to convince me that I needed to do research myself after not agreeing with the doctrine of The Investigative Judgement and The Atonement which she claim was not completed at the Cross when Jesus died, but that our sins were transferred to Heaven to be judged further. I read the White Lie, objectively and with great disappointment in someone who claimed other people's writings to be what the Lord has shown her in her visions. I compared "her" writings with the Word of God and found many contradictions. One of the most obvious was in her book Early Writings p15 where she claimed that she was shown the day and hour of the Lord's coming. In the Holy Bible Jesus says in Matthew 24 vs 36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not even the angels of heaven but my Father only. I still attend church but am very uncomfortable knowing what I do now after much bible study and prayer. Lesson study is a challenge as we differ in much of the doctrinal issues.
I prayer that the Holy Spirit will open the eyes of the Conference leadership, and that would be humble enough to admit to the many false teachings. I am not afraid to be ostracised by the SDA church because I only want to serve in Truth according to the Word of God and not idolize anybody but Jesus.

... In the Book of Ruth, Boaz clearly advisors Ruth, the God fearing, faithful Woman, "God's People, the Church", not to go gleaning in another field, field meaning from His Word, or His Church that follows His Commandments and His Word.
It is very important to remember ... "...And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” (Acts 2:47, KJV) we are to stay in the church, It is not good to leave God's church because of the EGW issues or any other issues... It is hard to bare so much errors, yet it's even harder to walk away from God's truth, so I stay turning my focus on Him and where He would have me be.
God's Church is the church that's going to be with the most issues as it the church Satan is going to concentrate on the most. God is able to to save His People. Trust in Him is the answer to all these EGW issues.
Thank you dear fellow member for not leaving God's Church. Always remember “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” (1 Peter 2:9, KJV)...

A new church needs to be made. Completely and totally devoid of the GC, Conferences, Ellen W, etc etc. Breaking off from the synagogue and meeting in each others homes, would be following the beginning of the Christian church. Remember, God told the people to wait together and pray. Then the Holy Spirit was given and the word of Jesus was spoken in all languages. All of this was done at God's command and without any associations with the Priests in the Synagogue.

If one never question what they are being taught - and follow the path you did to find Bible truth - and not the "truth" presented by any church - then they'd be prone to remain where they are.

I was not looking to leave not did I start this research because I doubted their version of what happened but I took a look at the so-called "shut-door" doctrine that came out of "the disappointment" and found it to be the most heinous and heretical idea. I also looked at how EGW etc treated those who did not accept this diabolical inspired teaching and realised that for the SEVEN years they foisted this on other believers they had to be operating under significant influence of satan.
I became convinced that the rest of beliefs needed inspection and I slowly studied my way into truth and out of the SDAC.

My friend, I have been on the same journey since covid. IJ was the first inconsistency i discovered, and then I have read many books on EGW (Daily, Bradford, Numbers). Some seem more fair than others but they all lead me to the same end point; EGW has been misused and misrepresented.
New covenant theology has to be questioned. Where does this leave you spiritually?

    • @TesttheProphet
      @TesttheProphet  3 года назад +14

That is an interesting question. When I began to look into EGW my wife thought I may be losing it so she started studying to prove me wrong. Soon she realized I was onto something and now my whole family and many of our relatives have left and joined a non-Adventist church. We are more on fire for Christ than ever before! I have seen the power of the gospel change many around me. If I may recommend some books for you:
      1. www.amazon.com/gp/product/0800793390/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tpbk_p1_i5 (Helped me see a different view of God that was misshapen by the all seeing eye of the IJ)
      2. www.amazon.com/Galatians-You-Timothy-Keller/dp/1908762349/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=tim+keller+galatians&qid=1626007396&s=books&sr=1-1 (Tim Keller is wonderful as a whole and has a great sermon podcast, this book is excellent).
      3. Sabbath in Christ by Dale Ratzlaff was another pivotal book, although many others have contributed to this subject such as Elce Lauriston.
      4. www.christianbook.com/acts-an-expositional-commentary/r-c-sproul/9781642891850/pd/891853?event=ESRCN|M
Studying Acts from start to finish to see how the early church began and what they instructed the gentiles to do is also important. R.C. Sproul has a good commentary on this.
Unfortunately, many who leave Adventism become atheist because EGW has twisted the Bible. However, once EGW is put aside and the Bible is studied on its own, it suddenly makes much more sense and comes to light in the most beautiful and profound way.

As a Seventh Day Adventist, I’m intrigued to watch this video series for myself. I was never a firm believer in Ellen G. White as a person herself. Because if Ellen G. White really was a prophet, then Ellen G. White could of been anyone; you, me, or someone else. When God chooses a messenger it’s because HE is the one that finds purpose in someone and not the other way around.
That being said, people who remain in the Adventist church have always carried conflicting feelings about Sister White as well and that’s completely understandable. People in the church have idolize her when they should be focus on the source of the wisdom given to humanity and that is Jesus Christ.
There’s a RUclips Channel called Adventist Defense League who’s also responded to some of your content. I’m looking forward to looking a both sides of the argument behind Ellen G. White.
The Pandemic has affected us all, and I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that a lot of us have learned to come back to Jesus during this time.
Hope you continue to find peace with God and may you be blessed. ✝️

BUSTING THE SDA CLAIMS OF AN "INVISIBLE" MARK OF THE BEAST
Revelation was written in Greek. The literally meaning of CHARAGMA is a trade-mark or identifying mark.
The noun χαραγμα (charagma), which describes an engraving of any kind (any marking, brand, imprint or impression), or an item engraved (like a tablet or a piece of pottery, but also an idol or icon; see the noun εικον, eikon).
People probably began to mark things to declare their ownership of them (which is probably how writing began) but marks and symbols quickly evolved to declare the essential character of clans and troops, and the allegiance of the wearer of the mark to that troop.
Modern trademarks perfectly combine these two elements, and that is probably the best way to understand this word.

Imo...you are confused on several issues. First, E.G.W. never considered herself a prophet, but a messenger with the spiritual gift of prophecy. Her writings are not to supplant scripture, nor considered canonical. They must be tested by scripture just like any other Christian author! She warned us not to use her writings in place of a "thus sayest the Lord." That is why none of our fundamental beliefs are based on her writings. Secondly, her practice of borrowing from other authors without citation was common in her day and throughout human history. New Testament authors borrowed heavily from the Old Testament without siting the original source! Jesus Himself did this regularly. By your standard they too are plagiarists! Should we reject them as well?
I hope this helps someone out there, maybe even the author of this video!

Even her critics acuse her of small things, like eating oysters which even If it îs true it îs stupid because a false prophet does not keep the ten commandments does not rebuke sins made in secrecy. I do not find anything special about what she has to say on this subject and there is no proof this came from above.
So, your argument boils down to because she "kept" the 10 commandments she is a true prophet? Sounds farfetched. Does keeping a law make one a prophet? I think not. Lying on occasion, eating oysters is one thing--deceiving people on the source of her information is another thing altogether.

Nice move though to leave this out of the image.
You must try harder I would say.
We know that a certain church is not very happy about a certain book and tries to usurp her authority.
I was live at a meeting where the topic was the "Spirit of Prophesy". A whole weekend their "brother" (he is spending his free time in a monastery with some good friends [monks]!) tried in a very "nice" and "inocent" way to "destroy" her.
At the end there was a QA where two brothers asked him to tell us if we can pass on the books: "Desire of Ages" and the "Great Controversy" to others.
His answers where revealing! The first one was okay to share with others he said while the second one he wouldn't recommend giving it to others. That told me plain and clear that we have people within our church that have high positions and power that work against our theology that doesn't fit well with the global ecumenical agenda.
Your chanel seems to have the same goal.
Who doesn't study the Bible for himself is an easy prey, but those who does cannot be shaken. The plagiarism card is always one of the ways trying to destroy the "Spirit of Profecy". The unfolding endtime scenes show us that we can trust the Lord and His prophets and not people that "were" sda members and sadly found out that they were deceived by an old lady and now are crying loud about how terible they were led on the wrong path.

This introductory video to your series has captured my attention. It brings out one of the most significant factors as to why our world continues to be in a mess despite its miraculous technological advancement. That factor is the great fear associated with the attempt to question established traditions. We want to continue with our beliefs from distant past. Traditions provide us with assumptions that make up our sense of self or as you call it our identity. So, we seek the continuation of traditions that create hatred, wars and insecurities in order to preserve comforting assumptions even when they have long lost their credibility or value. You understood so clearly that re-examining religious assumptions is the main remedy against self-deception and a means of progress. This is really insightful. But it's your courage that appeals to me the most--your willingness to persist to question and the courage you have gathered to continue the investigation even when you felt the emotion of fear of abandoning a tradition you grew up with. Furthermore, your openness, expressed in the invitation you have give to people to leave comments, is a further evidence of your love for truth no matter where it leads. I am eager to listen to your other videos in the series and hope to offer my comments. Thank you sir.

I have been an Adventist for years. I rejected her writings before I read them because I came across SDAs that blasted me with her writings before showing me the love of God. I later fell in love with her writings. Regardless, of what people think of her it doesn't bother me. God gives us all the right to do what we want and we all have to live with the consequences. Is Ellen White gives good counsel. It doesn't matter where it comes from or who she may have copy from. I have done my research also and I realized that God rules. I'm not gonna leave the church because anything she says. We are to follow people as they follow God. Many will follow the teachings of Matthew Henry, Martin Luther, Swingli and other Reformers yet they don't judge them. They say something like they weren't claiming to be inspired. I never like the part in Baptist when the Pastor says to you accept the writings of Ellen G White as inspired by God. Many that I have met upon Baptism had not read her writing for themselves. But only heard what the Pastor quotes. Did this deter me absolutely not. Why? because I figured if I read the Bible and let the Holy Spirit guide me God would never lead me into error or anything bad. Again, when I teach and preach I go to the scriptures first.

@@nicetry620 My friend you would have to show mw what God says about false prophet and place it side by side against what Ellen White writings say with added to either. Ellen White writing explain themselves and the Bible is its only interpreter. Many blast Ellen White and the SDA Church based on Dr. Walter Martin's book the Kingdom of the Cults. What has to be done is never look at one man opinion no matter how authoritative he has been in the past. If you have Adventist that quote Ellen White and live by her writing and don't open up their Bibles then there is a problem. Dr. Walter Martin points this out. But if Adventist read their Bibles and read Ellen White but follow Jesus and Jesus alone there's should be no problem. I must make this point if a person read Ellen White they should end up in the arms of Jesus. Why do I say this? She points her readers to Jesus. Also anyone from any religion that does not read the Holy Scriptures or digs deep into the scripture and read what people say about other people or people groups can never really honestly can anyone a false prophet. Why? Well, they are following the words of men and not of God. They are following a wicked pattern and false knowledge of men who have no love for people. Many today are profiting off the lies of men who are writing books, magazines, videos, radio etc that tear down people and people groups. This is Satan's way. God's people do not profit off of the lies or the bearing of false witness of others. God's people are to represent truth and seek to help those who may be teaching falsely. Many today who call themselves Christian have the spirit of persecution on those that don't believe as they believe. This is not God's way. God says love God, Neighbor and Enemy.

After her vision on Nov 18, 1848, Ellen White writes (SLG 25.9): “The time of trouble has begun.”
In the summer of 1849, a cholera epidemic struck American cities leaving hundreds of people dead. Ellen White then writes (PT September 1, 1849, Par. 9): “What we have seen and heard of the pestilence, is but the beginning of what we shall see and hear. Soon the dead and dying will be all around us.”
Soon after this prophecy was penned by Ellen White, the epidemic ended, and the United States entered a period of relative peace and prosperity that lasted for many years.
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed. (Deuteronomy 18:22).

    Was Ellen White a plagiarist?
Ellen White often made use of literary sources in communicating her messages. In the Introduction to one of her most popular books she wrote:
"In some cases where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but in some instances no specific credit has been given, since the quotations are not given for the purpose of citing that writer as authority, but because his statement affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject. In narrating the experience and views of those carrying forward the work of reform in our own time, similar use has been made of their published works" (The Great Controversy, p. xii).
Ellen White's use of other authors was not limited to historical or geographical material, but included other subject areas as well. Research has found that she enriched her writings with choice expressions from her reading more extensively than had been known, although the amount that has been documented thus far is a small percentage (less than 2 percent) when measured against her total literary output.
In 1980 Dr. Fred Veltman, at that time the chairman of the Religion Department of Pacific Union College, undertook a detailed analysis of Ellen White's use of literary sources in her book The Desire of Ages, a study which took eight years to complete. Copies of the full 2,561-page report were distributed to Seventh-day Adventist college and university libraries throughout the world. The complete report, including its 100-page summary, is also available online at the General Conference Archives web site: docs.adventistarchives.org//doc_info.asp?DocID=1158.
Because she included such selections from other authors in her writings, critics have charged Ellen White with plagiarism. But the mere use of another's language does not constitute literary theft, as noted by Attorney Vincent L. Ramik, a specialist in patent, trademark, and copyright cases. After researching about 1,000 copyright cases in American legal history, Ramik issued a 27-page legal opinion in which he concluded "Ellen White was not a plagiarist, and her works did not constitute copyright infringement/piracy." Ramik points out several factors that critics of Ellen White's writings have failed to take into account when accusing her of literary theft or deceit. 1) Her selections "stayed well within the legal boundaries of 'fair use.'" 2) "Ellen White used the writings of others; but in the way she used them, she made them uniquely her own"--adapting the selections into her own literary framework. 3) Ellen White urged her readers to get copies of some of the very books she made use of--demonstrating that she did not attempt to conceal the fact of her use of literary sources, and that she had no intention to defraud or supersede the works of any other author.
Ellen White "did not copy wholesale or without discrimination. What she selected or did not select, and how she altered what she selected" reveals that she used literary sources "to amplify or to state more forcefully her own transcending themes; she was the master, not the slave, of her sources" (Herbert E. Douglass, Messenger of the Lord, p. 461). See also The Truth about the White Lie.

Funny that this man does not identify himself and that from 2020 to July 2021 he could amass original copies of the books he references. Makes me suspicious as to who actually put together this professionally done presentation. I came into the church in 1976 after reading The Great Controversy. I went from an agnostic to a Christian. It was the height of the buzz about The White Lie. No one discouraged me from reading it and actually church members brought it to my attention. I really had no interest in reading the book because The Great Controversy opened my eyes to Christianity and the centrality of God's Law as the focus of end time events. I knew the book was inspired even though White might have taken portions of it from historians - the book is much more than a history. The book unveiled history in a way that I had never understood before. I highly recommend The Great Controversy. Read it before reading The White Lie.

Hi Branka. The reason I do not identify myself is that other RUclips presenters discussing the SDA church have been targeted by nutcases at their home. Obviously, the vast majority of people watching these presentations are normal people, but some are not. I wish to avoid those people. It's that simple.
It is quite easy to amass these books online with a simple search. Others, I have borrowed from collectors. The internet makes this very easy while back in the 1980s this would have been much more difficult.

Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. I appreciate this video as it presents an honest question that people have within the church. Also, there are no broad stroke comments being made suggesting that "all" Adventist are this/that like other videos. Yes, test the prophets to see if they're of God. Please do so. However, be sure that the test is spiritually honest and consistent with scripture. Why? Well, the answer is found in Proverbs 3:5-6. Your "testing of the prophet" ends up in 1 or 2 camps: you're led by God as Prov. 3:5-6 shows or you're deceived (see 2 Cor. 11:14). That's not a scare-tactic. Its the flat out biblical truth. Any denial of that is rooted in error. Pray that God leads - not personal bias - and He will. Finally, a different perspective is one thing, but a flat out lie is another. If the books "against" EGW are lies then what is their value? Test the prophet....test the writings against her as well. Why? Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

@Josiah Rivers I believe beginning with the doctrine regarding spiritual gifts/gift of prophecy is a good place to start regarding the qualification of a prophet. The Bible and it proper interpretation can best answer that question as God is the one who "qualifies" those who He chooses to speak on His behalf. Secondly, Bachelor and others (both in SDA and outside of it) are (for me) men and women who felt God called them to preach, teach, etc. and are gifted in those areas. A prophet (based on scripture) has a specific message from God for God's people at a specific time. We see evidence of this in scripture.
Can you share some info. regarding Edson receiving a vision as to why Christ did not come in 1844? Regarding why Edson isn't considered a prophet is a good question and I'd start with looking at his life overall (he may have rejected the call to be a prophet). I'll do some digging as well.

There are two basic problems with your premises here:
    1) that you can’t provide revelation if you use source material
    2) that SDA doctrine significantly reliés on EGW.
Both thèses premises are to be rejected. The first because a number of Biblical authors themselves sometimes use exteriors sources sometimes without credit. Hello, Paul, Luke, and a number of OT historical books. The second because that’s simply historical incorrect. The church often went against EGW’s wishes again and again. The emphasis bas on Bible study and Bible study alone when it came to doctrinal formulation. You simply have a misunderstanding of the role of EGW in the SDA church and I suspect that you also have a misunderstanding of the office of prophet in the Bible.
Many, many, many prophets existed without contributing to the canon so if you think that being a prophet is the same as being a canonical author you’re already starting with a misconception.

What's about the recommendation of smoking been good for the lungs in her days by doctors?
The 35 chapter is the one in this book every one in and outside the church should read!

Because they way you talk seem to suggest that the Adventist church is hiding EGW's "problems" by discouraging proper investigation into her writings. All i have to say is this: Im sorry to hear thats what you went through with other's suggestions when it comes to her writings, but that for sure doesnt represent the Adventist church as a whole. Im not sure why or how u went thru the Adventist system without even knowing the existance of the critics of EGW, because theyre littered everywhere, almost impossible to ignore even. Obviously when you read the church's stance on EGW theyre going to support her writings, but mind you there's no lacking of EGW skeptics even within the Adventist theologians and leaders, and theyre very vocal. With that, all i have to say is the videos were high quality, and is clearly done with good intention. Wish you all the best, cheers.

Decided to change the last sentence. As I did more research into this topic, I realized this was just mostly a regurgitation of what many people have already said, and is presented with a clear motive to undermine her writings from the get go. This was never a fair look into both sides of the argument. Some quotations and accusations were made out of context and cherry-picked, when there exists parallel quotes with clear explanations, and would question why bring up these accusations in the first place.

When 70% of the SDA church doesn't know about the fundamental beliefs, "yes" the church is attempting to hide specifics from the church, specifically fundamental belief #18

      Caleb,
I find it interesting how you went from "Im not sure why or how u went thru the Adventist system without even knowing the existance of the critics of EGW, because theyre littered everywhere, almost impossible to ignore even." This implies everyone knows the criticisms (such as yourself, but not me). Then, you end your first comment with "the videos were high quality, and is clearly done with good intention".
Then, after a cursory reading of SDA apologetics the same day as your comment, you change your tune to "this was just mostly a regurgitation of what many people have already said, and is presented with a clear motive to undermine her writings from the get go." If you were so familiar with the existence of these criticisms before, than why claim my series was provided on good intentions and then switch to, "a clear motive to undermine her writings"? If you were familiar with the criticisms why is this suddenly a "regurgitation"? Were you unfamiliar with the arguments, just as you claim I was, in your first post?
I hope you realize that there is more under the surface than a quick answer from ellenwasright.com or what is "littered everywhere". I will be building on this in future videos.

Where the LORD has guided me regarding this subject. The Scriptures reveal the truth. Therefore, it is the Scriptures alone that we should be reading or should I say, studying. In the Book of Ruth, Boaz clearly asks Ruth, the God fearing, faithful Woman, "God's People, the Church", not to go gleaning in another field, field meaning from His Word, or His Church that follows His Commandments and His Word.
True God fearing faithful believers who need more than the scriptures to study, should be concerning. In saying that, There's nothing wrong with studying the Bible with writings of others about the Bible and the truths it holds, providing it is done with prayer, in the mind set of thus saith the LORD, or it is written, trusting God at His Word, not leaning on our own understanding, praying the Heavenly Father, for the Holy Spirit's guiding, in Jesus blessed name.
The truth of God's Word never changes, therefore, instead of pulling apart EGW's writings of plagiarism, it is best to study God's Word for the truth. God is quite capable sending light of the same truth through others, therefore, there maybe views, that claim to be plagiarism, yet are not, but inspired Word of God through different writers. However, the only way to know the truth, is to go to the Scriptures, and see what the LORD has said. I could give lots of examples, to see if EGW's writings are true or not. But one I will give is that God's Word can not be added to nor taken away from. As it reads, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5-6, KJV). See also Revelation 22:18,19. “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” (Ecclesiastes 3:14, KJV).
We are to fear God not man, Therefore, following man as the Scriptures says, bringeth a snare: read Proverbs 29:25.
The Seventh day Adventist Church is God's Church, you only have to read the Scriptures to know that. However, to follow the church out side of the Scriptures is not what God wants us to do. I am A Seventh day Adventist, and always will be, in heart in Love for God's Word.
God said, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3, KJV), If anyone wants to know truth about His Word, Go To God, let Him teach you His Truth.
If you want to reach God's People, regarding the truth, do it through His Word. Those who are God's people, and those looking for truth, can be pulled out of the field when the tares are being pulled up. Read Matthew 13:24-30. So please consider this parable. Note verse 30, “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matthew 13:30, KJV)
Let God guide the reapers, let us do the Work of telling the truth about His Word. Please don't do great damage to His People. Give them the Bible and God will lead His faithful that trust in Him at His Word.
Grace be with you all. Amen, Hebrews 13:25

That may be true, but the Sabbath is definitely the correct day of rest and the Catholic Church simply changed the day without a shred of biblical evidence. Satan probably commissioned Constantine directly.

Have you considered that if Rome would've changed any aspect of the faith, that Constantinople, Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Antioch might've spoken out against it? Much like what happened when the gnostics tried changing things in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, or Arians in the 4th century, or Nestorians, or other various heresies? It wasn't until 1054 when Rome did change the creed and separated themselves from the other churches. Look up the Great Schism of 1054. This is church history. Nothing was changed, the early church worshipped every day they could, and Sunday was their special day of worship because it was the day Christ resurrected, the 8th day. The first day of a new creation.

St Constantine gets so much flak for things he didn't do. He was a great emperor to Christianity and very much let the Christians be the ones in charge of Christianity. He didn't change anything.

Ellen White is probably wrong about many things BUT the ONE thing she has right is Sunday is a false “sabbath” created by the “Bishop of Rome” (The Pope). So the Bible still claims that God made the Seventh Day Sabbath as a memorial of God’s Creation not the FALSE 1st day (Sunday) of the Catholic Church. The Pagan Romans worshiped the SUN so the Roman Pope declared SUNDAY as the new “christain sabbath” if me memory doesn’t fail me that was in 336 AD, but I don’t see ONE Bible verse that actually claims sunday as the new sabbath. Only the Roman Catholic Church claims that! Now the Church dropped the “Roman” title to make the catholic church more acceptable to all. IN MY OPINION changing one of God’s suggestions is ENOUGH (sorry I meant to say “one of God’s Commandments”) to make that organization a false church and anything they promote that goes against what God said is a LIE. Protestant means protesting Catholic Doctrine, So why do MOST Protestant Churches still worship on the false Roman Catholic Day, SUNDAY???

You mentioned that she quoted from other people's work and passed it on as her own, you do know that she only had a 3rd grade education right? And that she was sickly most of her life even when she started getting visions and those writings that you claims she copied, were not copyrighted but simply knowledge inspired to add detail to what was already told in the bible. The same way every other author in the bible added more detail to previous books of the bible in their time... so are you going to reject the authors of the books of the Bible as copyrighters too? Because Jesus claim words that Moses said, so did Paul and John and Timothy etc...
