My SDA friends have told me that I have to keep the Sabbath day! But I asked them: What about the New Moons? Do you also keep the New Moons? Do you keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Harvest, the Feast of Ingathering, and the Feast of Tabernacles? Those were also commanded by God, but you don't keep them. Also interesting is that the calendar used by the church to figure out what day is the Sabbath is the same calendar created by the Catholic Church and adopted by the Jews. Doing Biblical research on dates in the Bible as well as Leviticus 23, is eye opening. But yeah, EGW trumps the Bible 😢 Twice the church looked into the calendar issue 1939 and 1995 both times the findings disappointed the leaders and got shut down and ignored and covered up. Interesting topics that the church would rather ignore and use the “prophet” to answer questions rather than the Bible.

Here's one for starters. How's this? "On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify the owners and builders. Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. . . .
The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fire-proof buildings and said: "They are perfectly safe." But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.-Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, pp. 12, 13.

I heard some one say, "We knew that the judgments of God were coming upon the earth, but we did not know that they would come so soon." Others said, "You knew? Why then did you not tell us. We did not know." On every side I heard such words spoken.-Review and Herald, Nov. 24, 1904.

      World wars 1 & 2?
I was shown the inhabitants of the earth in the utmost confusion. There was war, bloodshed, want, privation, famine and pestilence, in the land; and as these things were without, God's people began to press together, and cast aside their little difficulties. Self-dignity no longer controlled them. Deep humility took its place. Suffering, perplexity and privation, caused reason to resume its throne, and the passionate and unreasonable man became sane, and acted with discretion and wisdom.
My attention was then called from the scene. There seemed to be a little time of peace. Then the inhabitants of the earth were again presented before me, and everything was in the utmost confusion again. Strife, war and bloodshed, with famine and pestilence, raged everywhere. Other nations were engaged in this confusion and war. War caused famine. Want and bloodshed caused pestilence. And then men's hearts will fail them for fear, "and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth."

They both made great strides toward preparing God’s end time people to share the sanctuary message and 3angels message. The great disappointment Is found in Revelation 10 and specifically versus 11 to the end. It talks about something being sweet as honey in the stomach, and then becoming bitter. God knew about the great disappointment. It’s right there in Revelation 10.
EG white has contributed more than what you’re contributing. Any dodo can look back in history and laugh at the mistakes and criticize the mistakes that people and pioneers made before them but what’s your contribution? Absolutely nothing.

Why does the 4th commandment begin with the word “Remember”? Exodus 20:11, the last sentence of the commandment says “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”, so we are to “remember” it because we are celebrating creation, God’s creation. Do we still need to celebrate creation? Of course. When did God create the Sabbath, before or after sin? Before sin…it is part of His perfect plan. When was the resurrection and is it important? It was Sunday and it was important. When was the crucifixion and was it important? It was Friday and it was important. Is there instruction anywhere in the Bible to worship on Friday or Sunday? Nowhere. God had it right from the beginning. God’s holy day is the 7th day Sabbath. Had He changed the day He certainly would have had it written in the Bible. He would not leave it to our imaginations. He would make it very clear to us.
He at the end of His work, after resting on the Sabbath, the special day created for man, he, along with marriage between a man and a woman established the Sabbath. Since Eden the weekly cycle has continued uninterrupted for the last 6,000 years. That cycle goes - day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4, day 5, day 6, Sabbath then repeats. It has continued that way since creation. It is summarized in Genesis chapter 2. The same wording is used in a couple of other places in the Bible. Exodus chapter 20 where we are told why humanity is to worship specifically on the 7th day Sabbath, that being to give honor and worship to the Creator. We are told to “remember” the Sabbath specifically in honor of the Creator and to not forget to take rest from work and worship Him who created. Worship the Creator spoken of in Genesis 2. Another place similar wording is used is in Revelation 14 verses 6 & 7. Again it gives us a description of the creation from the beginning and it tells us to Worship Him who created. That’s what Sabbath is all about, worship. Who will you worship? God or the creation? When will you worship? On God’s Holy 7th day Sabbath, a day chosen by God for worship, the day He blessed and sanctified in Eden, or a day that was created by God as an ordinary day to do all your work? If you search the scriptures diligently you will see this connection between these passages I mentioned and the perpetuity of the 7th day Sabbath created by God in Eden. This is not so much for you c4s but for others who may actually be searching for truth and come across this comment. Why are you so concerned what the Bible teaches anyway? Catholics don’t follow the Bible but tradition. You believe catholic tradition trumps the plain “Thus Sayeth the Lord” found clearly written, if you ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and take the time to look for it, in God’s Holy Word, don’t you? Blessings to everyone as you study God’s Word.

My view is that the Sabbath practice according to the Mosaic regime and covenant is no longer valid for the gentiles today in the new covenant. However the practice is noble and has great value for an individual creature to fully communicate and worship the creator, holy powerful yet loving and intimate being.
The only issue now which SDA is prompting to a cult status is not the day, but "how" or defining the regime Sabbath is kept.
Let me say this, apart from SDA
there are Christian churches denominations keeping the Sabbath. The difference is that we are keeping the Sabbath with no "duress" since we are not under the laws of Moses but under regime of Yeshua Messiah based entirely on love. If you love or know who God or Yeshua is then an individual should set aside the Sabbath rest and in your home all Day in prayer rest and worship as individual or within the family. Problems come s when we institutionalise this day in a reglious organization then we fall into a snare we set for ourselves..ie obligated all members to attend Sabbath services, even roll calls are taken and absent members are castigated and labelled as backsliders. Sounds like the mosaic regime.

Absolutely yes!! Therefore so did any of the prophets in the Bible. In the last 1800 years not one person in history that was either considered a prophet or was to their own bragging a self-proclaimed prophet ever fulfilled Isaiah 8:20 in the same manner E.G.W. did because none of them kept the Sabbath along with the other 9 commandments or pointed to the Bible as the standard by which to live. The Apostle Paul tells us to not judge another on which day they hold above another.
Romans 14:5-6 (LSB): 5 One person judges one day above another, another judges every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.
6 He who regards the day, regards it for the Lord, and he who eats, eats for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who does not eat, for the Lord he does not eat and gives thanks to God.

@@ShepherdMinistry Some conclude that these verses state that it does not make a difference to God which days we keep. They take these verses out of context and apply their own meaning. In order to grasp the true intent, we must read starting where the context of the subject begins-not just these two verses. Verses 1-4 identify the subject in context as vegetarianism-not which days should be kept.
Notice: “One man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regards the day, regards it unto the Lord; and he that regards not the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks” (Rom. 14:5-6).
Does Paul state here that Jesus, by His death, did away with the very days He kept during His whole life? No! Does he say, “God esteems one day above another” and “God esteems every day alike?” Again, no! The verse says, “One man esteems one day above another.” This is telling us that it was what men were teaching, not what God says.
Christ is not going to judge us by what any man believes. He will judge us by His Word, the Bible. “…the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48).
Paul is not condemning a particular period of time, but he is warning the saints not to judge one another and cause strife for having differing opinions about things. Those in Rome were weak in the faith. They had not yet matured spiritually. Paul says, “For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established” (Rom. 1:11).
This in no way is giving a license to believe whatever you want. God commands, “…and lean not unto your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5). Until you know what God says in His word, how are you going to be fully assured in your own mind? Paul stated, “the holy scriptures…are able to make you wise unto salvation” (II Tim. 3:15).
Paul is writing to both Jewish and Gentile converts in Rome. He advised them to accept those who were weak in the faith (Rom. 14:1), and to not dispute with them over insignificant matters, nor sit in judgment of them. Some of these newly converted Gentiles, being weak in the faith, were vegetarians and refused to eat meat.
While newspapers, magazines and other news media report what happened, The Real Truth analyzes and explains the root cause of why events happen-why humanity is at a loss to solve today’s problems. Subscribe
The reason they did not eat meat is explained in I Corinthians 8. Most meat available for purchase at the market had been previously offered to idols at pagan temples. Therefore, some, with conscience of the idol, ate it “as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But meat commends us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse” (vs. 7-8). Some of the converts at Rome, who had given up idolatry, were Gentiles. Still being superstitious, they thought the idol was something real.
What were these days Paul was referring to? Why did Paul break into this thought-about eating meat-and mention “days?” The answer is found in the Moffatt translation: “Then again, this man rates one day above another, while that man rates all days alike. Well, everyone must be convinced in his own mind; the man who values a particular day does so to the Lord. The eater eats to the Lord, since he thanks God for his food; the non-eater abstains to the Lord, and he too thanks God” (Rom. 14:5-6).
Notice! Not only were there weak converts who avoided eating meat offered to idols, but there were others who customarily abstained from particular foods. They semi-fasted on certain particular days. Still others refused to practice a semi-fast or abstain from foods, but regarded every day in the same way!
A number of Jews of that time would often hold a semi-fast twice in the week (Luke 18:12). Some would also fast during the fifth and seventh months (Zech. 7:4-7). They were divided as to exactly when to fast. The Gentile converts were also divided as to what days to abstain from certain foods. Because of the differing backgrounds of these people, they could not agree on which days to do this. There were divisions in the congregation. Jesus taught us that fasting is something that is done without making it obvious to others (Matt. 6:16). It is a personal matter, between an individual and God.
The subject of this question surrounded the matter of abstinence on particular days-upon which days many voluntarily abstained from certain foods. It did not involve whether or not to keep pagan holidays or God’s Holy Days.

They teach that Satan is the originator of All sin and untimately will bear All of his OWN sins. since he caused them all he will bear them all. Satan is not an atonement for the sins of humanity. All beings must atone for sin either they bear it themselves or someone else bears it for them. Since Satan has no one to bear his sins, He bears is Sins by himself. Great point, icedragon. If one believes that each individual bears his own sins, why is it such a leap to think the one who is responsible for all sin should not bear its punishment? But, I think that since each lost individual bears His own sin, and each Saved persons sin is in the sanctuary, by the blood of Christ, then at the end of time the final atonement, Satan bears His sin and the sins of the redeemed represented by the sins that are transferred to Azazel. If you think about it, this must be so because it isnt satans sins that are transferred. He already bears his own sins. SO, on that point, I think Phil is right.

I see her saying the very opposite...that we cannot be "accounted worthy" (a phrase used by Christ Himself - Luke 20:35 ) not by our works but through repentance and faith in Christ's atoning blood. How is that different from Peter's Spirit-filled sermon on Pentecost:
      Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Is faith in Christ's atoning blood a requirement? Yes.

she then goes into details of failing to truely repent mate!
The Great Controversy, she wrote, “All who have ever taken upon themselves the name of Christ must pass its searching scrutiny… Sins that have not been repented of and forsaken will not be pardoned, and blotted out of the books of record, but will stand to witness against the sinner in the day of God… Words once spoken, deeds once done, can never be recalled. Angels have registered both the good and the evil. The mightiest conqueror upon the earth can not call back the record of even a single day.
Our acts, our words, even our most secret motives, all have their weight in deciding our destiny for weal or woe. Though they may be forgotten by us, they will bear their testimony to justify or to condemn.” (The Great Controversy, 1940 edition, page 552).

Ellen White was a prophetess and one of the seventh day Adventist church founders. Seventh day adventists are bible based Christians not a cult. Read the bible for yourself then compare the bible against seventh day Adventist church doctrine. Adventist doctrine is based on the bible. The bible is the basis of their beliefs. Do your personal research. Not every preacher or speaker speaks truth. We need the Holy Spirit to teach us truth directly from the bible. We need to get back to studying the bible earnestly. No excuses, Christian’s read, interpret and apply the scriptures differently than the false counterfeit Christian SDA denomination. They say they use the ‘Historical Grammatical Method‘ of interpretation but they don’t. Christianity by and large do. This means that what was given in the Old Testament has to be filtered through the finished work of Christ and the commands given in the New Testament. The primary three are to 1st BELIEVE (putting 100% of our faith and trust in Christ alone) 2nd is to love God and 3rd is to love our fellow man. Unless and until command one is accomplished (what the bible calls being born again) every other act of obedience (no matter how sincere) are as filthy rags.

@@jimliley8850 Actually, no they don't, the other denominations use what is called futurism of prophecy. They believe that all of Daniel and Revelation is future tense in interpretation, however, this belief didn't originate until the 1600s with a Jesuit Catholic Priest named Fransico Ribera. The Pope ordered Ribera, a Jesuit, to refute Martin Luther's teaching that the Catholic Church was the beast power of Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. Luther had been teaching that the Pope was anti-Christ, and the church was the beast power. Ribera took Daniel and Revelation and put a future twist on the prophetic message, he then trained his priest, and acolytes to go out and infiltrate this Protestant movement with this futurism teaching, now 400 years later the only church teaching the same thing Luther taught about the Papacy is the SDA Church.
Your take on Matthew 22:37-40 is flawed because verse 40 states " On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Verses 37 includes love for God, as a definition love for God would fulfill the first 4 commandments including the Sabbath, in verse 38 we see love for our fellow man which would fulfill the last 6 commandments this is why Jesus said on these 2 commands hang the WHOLE LAW and the PROPHETS! considering John the Revelator was the last of the prophets and he states 3 different times that Jesus is coming back for a people who keep the commandments of God, and the last one says " Those who KEEP the COMMANDMENTS of GOD that they might have a RIGHT TO THE TREE OF LIFE and enter in through the gates of the city " The 10 commandments are never called or referred to as the Jews and the Sabbath was kept even before Mt. Sinai and the giving of the Commandmets.
Moses was responsible for writing the Torah ( aka first 5 books ) In Genesis 26:5 he writes that Abraham was chosen because he kept the commandments, laws, and statutes of GOD! It should be plain enough for people to see that the Bible always refers to the commandments as GOD'S not ours or the Jews.
Paul and John both state where there is no law there is no sin, and sin is the transgression of the Law. Before Abraham even people knew right from wrong, living a godly life such as Enoch, Noah, or any of the Patriarchs that followed God loved him so their lives were in accordance with his commandments even before they were handed down at Mt. Sinai. If this is not the case then how did Lucifer choose to rebel if there were no laws or commandments to govern heaven? What about Cain? God told Cain if thou doest well, will thou not be accepted? But if thou doest not well, sin lies at the door. Cain's heart was filled with anger against God and his brother and he knew that what he was about to do was wrong. What about Joseph? When tempted by Potiphar's wife he stated " How can I do this great wickedness in the sight of God! Joseph knew adultery was wrong even before any express command was given to tell him it was wrong. The commandments were inherently known in the hearts of men.
The only thing that changed from the Old Covenant to the New is the location, they went from stone ( the letter of the law ) to the heart and mind of the believer ( the spirit of the law ) if a person is in the spirit of the law they will never break the letter of the law. This is why Enoch was considered ready for translation without seeing death.

Actually, Sunday worship began way before Constantine.
Worship on Sunday began at the very beginning of the church. Seven weeks after the resurrection, the church was empowered by the Holy Spirit on Pentecost which is on a Sunday (Acts chapter 2). (Note that Pentecost is also known as the "Feast of Weeks". In Leviticus 23:15-16 this feast is established to be the day after the seventh Sabbath from the Feast of First Fruits.) In Acts 20:7 it is mentioned that believers gathered on the first day of the week to observe the Lord's Supper (breaking bread as it was called) while in 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul mentions meeting on the first day of the week. Also, John mentions being in the Spirit on the Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10).
Writings of the early church indicate that Sunday was the day of worship. The Didache states "But every Lord's Day gather yourselves together and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions." This was written around AD 70-100. Ignatius of Antioch stated that the Sabbath was no longer observed but that the church met on the Lord's Day (Letter to the Magnesians 9--ca AD 110). In the First Apology 67 (ca AD 155), Justin Martyr states that Sunday is the day of worship.
Based on this, I conclude that the church was worshipping on Sunday well before Constantine. What Constantine did was to codify the practice.
False religions should be called out as Paul did this. Moreover, Paul does rebuke legalism--see Galatians 4:9-11 for an example.

@@johngreene8332 May I correct you on a few points.
      1. Pentecost is one of the feast days in the Mosaic law which pointed to Jesus. It is one of the ceremonial laws which were nailed to the cross. It's one of the sabbaths Paul was speaking about when he said,
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Colossians 2:16
Those ceremonial sabbaths could fall on any day of the week and when they fell on the seventh day, which was and still is the Sabbath of the Lord, they were called "high days". When Jesus was crucified, that sabbath was the passover sabbath as well so it was a high day (see John 19:31). The ceremonial sabbath never superseded the seventh-day Sabbath.
Today Pentecost is a moveable feast, because it's observed on the seventh Sunday after Easter. But Easter, being a pagan festival that's dependent on the movement of the moon, occurs at different times from one year to the next, whereas Jesus only died and resurrected once.
      2. however carefully you read through Acts 2 you will not find Sunday. Neither will you find the first day of the week mentioned in relation to Pentecost. That's because it's not the day that's important in this Festival (as with all the religious festivals) but the time. Pentecost was to be celebrated seven weeks after the first fruits. Seven weeks after Jesus was resurrected and took a number of resurrected saints with Him to heaven as first fruits of the redeemed, the baptism of the Holy Spirit took place, at Pentecost. In the same way Jesus fulfilled every one of those ceremonial feasts by His life, death and resurrection, thereby making them no longer necessary.
      3. Acts 20:7 makes no mention of believers observing the Lord's supper. It says:
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
They came together to BREAK BREAD. This was not a special occasion because verse 46 tells us:
And they, continuing DAILY with one accord in the temple, and BREAKING BREAD FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
They DAILY and FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE broke bread. Were they observing the Lord's supper every day in each other's houses?
Paul preached to them "upon the first day of the week". Remember that Biblically, the day starts at sunset, not at sunrise. In Genesis 1 we read
And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And the evening and the morning were the second day. etc.
Paul was likely continuing a sabbath preaching into the new day, until midnight, because he was about to leave the next day. But even if he was preaching all day Sunday, it doesn't change the Sabbath to Sunday. Preaching doesn't sanctify a day. It doesn't make the first day holy.
      4. 1 Corinthians 16:2
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Yes Paul mentions the first day of the week. Since when does the mere mention of a day confer holiness upon it?
Besides if this was now Sabbath, he would be telling them to break it, because he was telling them to work, collecting and storing provisions for him.
He explains why he wanted them to do this. He didn't want to be delayed, having to wait while they collected the gifts they were sending to the brethren in need. And he chose the first day of the week because it was an ordinary day after the Sabbath. It had nothing do with worship..
      5. Yes, John was in the spirit on the Lord's day. But which is the Lord's day? Surely it must be the day the Lord claims as His
      Isaiah 58:13
      13 If thou turn away thy foot from THE SABBATH, from doing thy pleasure on MY HOLY DAY; and call the sabbath a delight, THE HOLY OF THE LORD, HONOURABLE; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:;
      Exodus 20:10
10 But THE SEVENTH DAY is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:
      Exodus 31:13
13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily MY SABBATHS ye shall keep:
      Leviticus 23:3
3 Six days shall work be done: but THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: IT IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD in all your dwellings.
      Ezekiel 20:12
12 Moreover also I gave them MY SABBATHS, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.
      Mark 2:28
      King James Version
28 Therefore THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH.
The Bible is full of instances of God claiming the Sabbath as His holy day. See how many times in He does so in Ezekiel 20 alone. And how many times does He say that the first day is His day? None.
the fact is, John was in the spirit on Sabbath, and there's not a scrap of evidence to the contrary.
      6. You quote a lot of men, all belonging to the institution which has tried to change the law of God. How about quoting God for a change. Remember what Jesus says
      Matthew 15:9
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

@@chukku3871 I am not saying that the Feast of Weeks is to be celebrated today. My point is that it is one of two feasts that are always start on Sunday as originally outlined in Leviticus 23:15-16.And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord." Unlike other feast in which a specific date is given like the 14th of Nissan for the Passover, it states the day after the seventh Sabbath and specifies 50 days. Counting 7 Sabbaths forces this always to be on Sunday. I don't care what some source you find says as the Scripture is plain here. Therefore, when the early church gathered on Pentecost and received the Holy Spirit it was on Sunday. The Scripture is too clear on this to be anything else. Although the Christians gathered daily for prayer, fellowship, preaching, and teaching (cf. Acts 2:46; 5:42), the “chief day” for services of worship in the church was changed from the Jewish Sabbath to the first day of the week almost from the beginning, because it was the day of resurrection. If you are interested in modelling yourselves on the early Christians then why aren't you gathering for worship, every day of the week? BTW, the early Christians also faced horrible persecutions. Quite the contrast to the safe, comfortable, long lives that SDAs live. When was the last time an SDA knocked on my door? Never, to my memory. Where are the videos of SDAs, street preaching like Ray Comfort does? Or copping the fury of Jews in Israel, like Ray did when he went there to preach the 'good person' technique of convicting people? If you are facing murderous persecution like the early church, why keep it secret? Enough with these arguments about what is the right day and more of the great commission.

@theresa42213 Of course, I read her, it's evident you only see in her writings what you want to without any context.
For example, and I'm paraphrasing here, she says as the world continues to get worse meat would be unfit for consumption, because of the effects of meat eating it will corrupt the faculties of the mind which would hinder us listening to the Holy Spirit.
Also, the commandments are kept out of love, any other reason is works. Are you married? Or ever been married? If so did you do, or do you do things for your husband because he's your husband and you have to? Or because you loved him and wanted the marriage to grow and be more wonderful over the time you're together? The commandments work the same way between us and God, either you do them because you have to, or your life becomes harmonious with his plan for you and out of love they become I will, and I won't as opposed to do and don't.

She only magnifies it, only amplifies it, only clarifies. Steps to Christ and The Desire Of Ages are two good examples. What she says in The Great Controversy is also found in the pages of the Bible. It can be found through deep and prayerful study. I was skeptical too at first. "Obedience to the law of ten commandments is the condition of salvation. This is God's positive requirement." (Review and Herald, May 3, 1898)
"For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." (Romans 3: 28)
"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, since otherwise grace is no longer grace." (Romans 11: 6)
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2: 8-9)

@@hotwax9376 I think a good question is - Has anyone ever been saved through their works? I am of the belief that everyone who has ever been saved has been saved by grace through faith. Galatians 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” So no one is saved by keeping the law. Jesus said “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”. Matthew 7:16-20 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” So commandment keeping is a sign that a person loves Christ, the fruit that shows us who a person is allied with, a sign of salvation. Not a means to salvation. If you read that whole article you will see she says “The ten commandments, Thou shalt and, Thou shalt not, are ten promises secured to us if we render obedience to the law governing the universe.” So, God promises us “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” and so on. He promises, “You will do and not do these things. Nowhere in the article you mentioned does she say “keep the commandments to be saved.” She says “The saved will keep the commandments”. Not to be saved but because they are saved. So she’s not advocating salvation by works but works due to salvation.

As the books of record are opened in the judgment, the lives of all who have believed on Jesus come in review before God. Beginning with those who first lived upon the earth, our Advocate presents the cases of each successive generation, and closes with the living. Every name is mentioned, every case closely investigated. Names are accepted, names rejected. When any have sins remaining upon the books of record, unrepented of and unforgiven, their names will be blotted out of the book of life, and the record of their good deeds will be erased from the book of God's remembrance....
How many Adventists are now unsaved? Its hard to determine but many would not even know that they are blotted out!

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

@Samuelxkls you're right. I'm sorry for my reaction and unnecessary words. I've been suffering from a lot of guilt in my life. Ice recently started having a relationship with Christ and I've been having to face myself and I've been very hurt and I lashed out. This is a lot and I'm sorry to mention a personal struggle but I have been humbled. We shouldn't argue the word but be willing to learn and reason together. Forgive me friends.

Walking away from the SDA church ⛪️ or walking away from false doctrins and a false prophet (E G W) doesn't mean walking away from Jesus Christ. Context is king when quoting scripture. Smh!

    Adventists have a righteousness
    Paul describes it here.
    Rom 10:5
For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
Ellen confirms this so I guess as She has prophetic authority over the church it must be true!
    Righteousness of doing!

First, we need to know the context. Many Jews were “going about to establish their own righteousness” (Rom. 10:3) and seeking “the righteousness which is of the law” (Rom. 10:5). But with the coming of the Messiah, the true way of righteousness was presented. Righteousness was offered to all who would fix their faith in Christ. He was the one to whom the ancient ceremonial system had pointed.
Even if one includes in the definition of law here the Ten Commandments, this doesn’t mean that the Ten Commandments were done away with. The moral law points out our sins, our faults, our shortcomings, and thus leads us to our need of a Savior, our need of forgiveness, our need of righteousness, all of which are found only in Jesus. In that sense, Christ is the “end” of the law, in that the law leads us to Him and His righteousness. The Greek word for “end” here is teloes, which also can be translated “goal” or “purpose.” Christ is the final purpose of the law, in that the law is to lead us to Jesus.
Adventists are grace-saved obedient subjects of Christ's new covenant just as those of the early church.
They, both Jews and Gentile converts to Christianity kept the Sabbath commandment.
Acts 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. 44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
And if you think that was legalistic observance, you immediately learn that they were under grace.
Acts 13:43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, PERSUADED THEM TO CONTINUE IN THE GRACE OF GOD.
Notice they were already under God's grace while keeping the Sabbath. If the keeping of God's 10 commands (inclusive of the 4th command on Sabbath observance) was righteousness of the law...Paul would have told them as in all his other letters to RECEIVE grace...but they said CONTINUE.
Grace does not contradict obedience. Obedience is the natural fruit of grace. Blessings.

@@bop-ya-goodRead your Bible with a balanced mind...all who are in Christ, who are saved by grace through faith are under the new covenant ratified by Christ's blood shed on the cross.
Matthew 26:28 For this is My blood of the NEW COVENANT, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Romans 3:24 Being justified FREELY BY HIS GRACE through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
#Those justified freely by grace, have faith in that blood that was shed to establish the new covenant between themselves and God. Amen.

Until christians realize that the Bible has contradictions, denominations will continue to rise, for the "Truth" depends on the narrative that one reads. For example, the Bible teaches that a child of God cannot sin. Of course l do not believe this, but it is written, nevertheless.
    1 John 3:9
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
So, as you can see, Ellen White was not the only one uttering strange things!
