@DylanHp11 they said they would stay as seperate bands, but apparently are working on something new together as well, so a potential new band with both might come soon
@@jdm8702 it's a real thing whenever those crusty old bastards get ahold of the aux cord so to speak. One guy would play the bad david allan coe songs if you know what I mean 😂
this is one the single greatest musical experiences i've ever had the privilege to enjoy, from start to end it is breath taking but both the start and the ending are standout
100%. I never listened to deathcore before I randomly heard this, but it was enough to make me start. Now, dozens of bands later, I still never found anything that compares. This is hands down, without qualifications or caveats, the best example of any metal genre that I've ever heard. It's flawless. Cannot be improved upon, except by the two bands themselves. Even my 72 year old mother liked this one- she mainly listens to Abba, but her eyes went wide as dinner plates and goes "That's AMAZING."
i find some bands to be a bit "too deathcore" sometimes and it almost leans in to self-parody but i am all in on this one! thanks to the likes of you, mr birb, and your fellow youtube canucks for bringing this to my attention. "i, the devourer" is a masterpiece.
This compilation of your reactions is worth posting, considering this EP just put the bar VERY high for Metal music in general. This is probably the best music I’ve heard since I started listening to this genre.
To me, this sounds like it was very inspired by Reclaimer which is like my favourite deathcore album ever, moreso than LS of BoS like people said in comments of I, The Devourer. What a perfect ep.
winters breakdown gives me literal chills and a laugh, havent heard something this absolutely fucked since i first listened to immortal. the crazy down tempo, the atmosphere, the vile guitar tone, the singular drum. it raised my testosterone the second i heard it
First video of yours I've watched I'm glad to see credit given where it's deserved and you deserve a lot more views than you have disembodied and synsetia are insane and you helped prove that nothing but love here man good video
i can't get enough of this ep right now. i believe on the reddit ama they said blake and one of the synestia guys (cannot remember who sorry) will be doing a side project that is going in the direction of this ep, while the bands themselves will be doing stuff a little different? should check out the thread if you haven't!
I get the feeling that this (these) band(s) and this EP will remain underrated. I'm almost certain that TIME II will be my album of the year, but I wonder if reaction channels are even going to touch it, or have even taken a listen to the teasers of the early Wintersun demos on Jari's channel. Anyway, between the Poetic Edda EP and TIME II album, I think 2024 is going to be one of the best years for metal in recent memory.
This reminds me of beyond twilight. Especially the album for the love of art and the making. Even though that band is more progressive metal but I see so much parallels. I am not really into deathcore but holy shit this is incredible.
I completely agree that this is too creative to compare to Lorna Shore. With their next album they have to change things up, their sound got kinda stale pretty fast unfortunately. Which the fact that so many bands tried copying their formula could have contributed to that.
Honest question, did they get actual strings for this EP or is it all production? Obviously the choral background singing is very much production, but it’s harder to tell with the strings
Not gonna lie, I love the instrumentals. I could rock out to those all day. I still struggle with this vocal style though. I love music that implements screams that are more understandable and mixed with cleans , gives the best of both worlds imo
I'm not a big fan of deathcore for sure I prefer death metal and I only listen to Disembodied Tyrant and Synestia because it just combines incredible music and fantastic music videos.
Deathcore isn't necessarily my thing to start. I own that. And what I do like deathcore wise is more Beneath the Massacre or newer stuff like DarkoUS, Ten56. Which i know some dont call them Deathcore. Im rambling. The point I was getting at is that it sounds like stereotypical deathcore in the same vein as Lorna and so. It all just sounds the same to me. Now with that said, they do what they do well. And if people love it, hell yeah. Im not one of those people who want things to suck and attack people for liking things. And call everything "woke" to be a contrarian and pathetic edge lord. We have enough of that in the pop culture world of film and television.
To me, this sounds like it was very inspired by Reclaimer which is like my favourite deathcore album ever, moreso than LS of BoS like people said in comments of I, The Devourer. What a perfect ep.
Blake actually said that his biggest inspiration was Shadow of Intent (also explains Ben's appearance on The poetic Edda), which is cool as hell since imo they have the most distinct and best sound in all of modern deathcore.
Damn I moved a lot this past year eh?
Hope you enjoyed the format. Go show some love to the boys at Disembodied Tyrant and Synestia.
Can both bands just combine into one at this point??? So ridiculously good
I seriously hope so. These 2 bands are one of the best things to happen to metal in a long time
@DylanHp11 they said they would stay as seperate bands, but apparently are working on something new together as well, so a potential new band with both might come soon
yes i really hope this one yess
Disembodied Synestia
Facts I need more
Coworker usually hates what i play on our speakers in the shop but he was vibing hard to this EP
Hell yeah, do you by chance work in a weld/metal shop no pun intended?
@Chief_Ten_Bears lol I work on forklifts and other heavy machinery so in a roundabout way yes lol

Genuinely the best deathcore I've heard all year by far, the mix is also immaculate.
No joke as a 32 year old grown ass man I tear up at some parts of this EP it's just that good...
Brother same 🔥🔥🔥
Omg I thought it was just me. I dont even know why lol
I love METALBIRB. I love Disembodied Tyrant. I love Synestia. I love everyone.
My man great fucking attitude
Back at ya, Spitzy ❤
its mind blowing that three dudes made this, absolute masterpiece

I NEEED a live performance of this with a full choir and orchestra. That would be a god tier moment of human achievement.
This EP is the best. The two newer songs did not disappoint and just pull me in even harder. So amazing.

As far as deathcore EPs go this may be one of the best, it's so heavy and cohesive. And they pulled off a Vivaldi riff
Because of you i started listening to them and I’m ABSOLUTELY obsessed!!! All songs have been on repeat.
Hell yeah dude!
winters breakdown gives me literal chills and a laugh, havent heard something this absolutely fucked since i first listened to immortal. the crazy down tempo, the atmosphere, the vile guitar tone, the singular drum. it raised my testosterone the second i heard it
basically Vivaldi if he was in Deathcore band and produce Winter
I went out and bought some eidfier speakers just to listen to this ep properly. Incredible experience

saw this and scrolled through the ep at work. was amazing!

Disembodied Tyrant Is The Best Deathcore Band From This New Age Of Blackned Deathcore 😎🤙
All of the songs are bangers but the poetic edda still absolutely devours the other tracks imo
No shot i JUST finished listening to this EP and literally said damn I wish more people would cover this and lo and behold 😅
The part where he goes "Oh, this cold, weary, old world" has so much emotion in it. It's pretty cool
I like this format alot, combining all of the individual reactions together is a great idea.
I don't see how this can be topped for EP of the year
Practically a daily listen for me since I came across it last year. Parts still give me goosebumps every time.
Man, the ending of 'Winter'. Every fucking time. Goose bumps.
After finished this EP for the first time I tought: This is something else man. New era of heavy music.
I just listened and watched probably the best deathcore/classical song ever made 100/100
Masterpiece!
This one makes me wanna play Elden Ring and get killed by everything that’s surrounds me 😂
What an absolute banger of an ep. Easily a 10/10
Edda is just a musical masterpiece. Unreal...
I get the feeling that this (these) band(s) and this EP will remain underrated. I'm almost certain that TIME II will be my album of the year, but I wonder if reaction channels are even going to touch it, or have even taken a listen to the teasers of the early Wintersun demos on Jari's channel.

God I love this song so much. Glad you found it
They should collab with darko us at this point.
That would be interesting fs

This makes Lorna Shore Lolna Shore mwahaha!
The different movements of this song too
FORGET LORNA SHORE FOR THIS IS THE POETIC "ERA"
I completely agree that this is too creative to compare to Lorna Shore. With their next album they have to change things up, their sound got kinda stale pretty fast unfortunately. Which the fact that so many bands tried copying their formula could have contributed to that.

Just from listening to it they sound legit but it's hard to tell
ghaadd dayumm this is true Deathcore 💀💀🤘🤘
Not gonna lie, I love the instrumentals. I could rock out to those all day. I still struggle with this vocal style though. I love music that implements screams that are more understandable and mixed with cleans , gives the best of both worlds imo
Мужииик, это лучший металл однозначно 🤘🏻
You KNOW these guys are a bunch of D&D nerds 😂🤘🏼
Brutal 🤘🏻
It's glorious
Ep of the year goes to Levels - Pulse imo 😊
Holy FUCK, did I say someone in your chat say "is this 2015?" to a pig squeal? Oh no.
🔥🔥🔥
Dragonforce and Lorna shore had a baby
I'm sweating...

Get will Ramos and Ben durr on this
Ben Duerr is on the Poetic Edda
I might be wrong, but I think that’s a one man band.
I'm the 667th liker. Sorry to ruin your 666 likes but I just love the video bro so I have to 😭

HELL YEAH. reclaimer is such a great album, instantly thought of shadow of intent on my first listen of poetic edda
