*Winter is coming, hit the sub button*
but sire, it is nearing the end of spring
@@tysonwastaken we literally have snow right now in russia, so i guess he's not wrong
Winter is coming? Well we may as well head to a Brave New World by Starset now. (Seriously react to it you will be surprised.)
@@vlwld probably anywhere north or in the mountains or both
@@tysonwastaken no, it's in moscow right now

Antonio Vivaldi was a head of his time. He wanted to do this but didn't have the tools so these guys continued his legacy. RIP our beloved father, the first metalhead (1678-1741).
Years ago I was reading a news article about a research on brain's response to different genres of music, .It said the participants' brains had the same reaction listening to Vivaldi and Metallica (iirc, Winter and Enter ther Sandman). I always said that the closest genre in modern music to classical, is metal. Utilizing different instruments, composing different sections, highs and lows, there are alot of similiarties between the two genres.
- Antonio, how would you describe your music?
- We do fun metal things here.
Vivaldi and Paganini for sure.
@@ThatRedHuskymozart too
@rezashojaei9170 man I really hate those articles because Enter Sandman is a trillion miles away from classical
I guess neo-classical shredding and tech death like First Fragment are kinda cheating though LOL but would make a much closer comparison
Too many metal fans think they're smarter because they heard an e minor triad and associated that rather ignorantly with classical
Drummer is insane, guitarist insane, vocalists insane. This band is technically insane
The vocalist, guitarist and producer are all the same person, Blake Mullens ( 20 years old lol ), dude is a genius he does other instruments too and i read somewhere that he also did some parts of drums. We have the next Buster Odeholm
@@yassineaarras8570 well fuck
@@yassineaarras8570 Do you know what exactly Synestia's roles in this were?
@@sosu7200 If I remember they have done most of the production and symphonic elements
@@sosu7200On r/deathcore Blake said that they wrote half of the guitars and did some vocals
Neo-Classical Deathcore is a genre I didn't know I needed in my life
Not quite deathcore, but.... Fleshgod Apocalypse goes pretty hard as well
I'm loving where Synestia & Disembodied Tyrant are going with the cumulative sound as a whole🔥🔥🔥
@@R1S3_0F_D3ATH look at the title of the video dude... This is Deathcore. I listen to Deathcore. I listen to Fleshgod Apocalypse as well. They are Symphonic Death Metal. The strings in their songs are composed FOR their songs.
This song is a modern interpolation of Antonio Vivaldi's 1st Movement of "Winter" from "The Four Seasons", which makes it Neo-Classical. With Deathcore elements, that makes it Neo-Classical Deathcore.
I think he was talking about the band he mentioned being "not quite deathcore".@@HauntedLuci
@@paragonca9736 ahh I think you're right, that makes more sense lol. My apologies to him for the misunderstanding.
deathcore generally isnt in my main rotation but anyone that can cover vivaldi/baroque/classical, put their own creative spin on it, _and_ have it sound as good as this passes the vibe check for me
Same, not always my cup of tea but these guys are clearly on their A game, my god
1000%. Other than one or two Lorna songs, (of course), deathcore isn't my thing, but this is so melodic and hard...
deathcore is just like any genre really, there's bangers then there's shitter, no genre has 100% bangers, you just need to find the deathcore you like
Calling Blake Mullens "just a vocalist" is some insane shit lol
He's an absolute genius
Also a GOAT when it comes to mixing/mastering
Isn't he also really young from what I've heard???
comes from ppl who haven't watched the divine stigmata playthrough
@@ImmortalMarz He's in his early 20s I believe
This whole collab, production, mixing, mastering, vocals, instrumentation, is just 3 guys. Insane.
Who’s the drummer or is it programmed?
@@devdirty3191 Pretty sure the entire collab is actually 4 guys. There is a drummer on disembodied tyrant, while the vocalist does all the production mixing and instrumentation. Im pretty sure the symphonic elements in this EP are mostly Synestia's idea.
AH THANK YOU! I thought Blake did everything. I was wrong
@@devdirty3191 it's programmed but written by a real drummer I believe
@@devdirty3191 I know Synestia got Bryce Butler to record drums on their debut album, pretty certain he helped out here as well but don't quote me on it
I can’t stand when any band with symphonic elements is labeled Lorna shore, it just doesn’t sound anything like Lorna shore
Yup. This ep sound much closer to Shadow of intent primordial album
I get super triggered by this as well. Don't get me wrong the dudes in Lorna are talented, but not one of them alone can hold a candle to Blake. This collab is pure genius.
I love Lorna and I get triggered too
Maybe Nick criticized the strange breakdown like lorna shore
Fr. Like, I'm happy for all of Lorna Shore's success, but any band with remotely symphonic elements gets called a Lorna Shore copy.
It's like everyone forgot that symphonic deathcore is a whole genre and not just something Lorna Shore invented.
Minimizing this as just "trying to out-Lorna Shore Lorna Shore" has me heated man
Fr this is so much more than LS
He’s too much on Ramos’ dick he forgot Dickie did all of this years before
Death Empress = breakdown of the year!!!
If you like shitty cuts in the middle of it, sure.
I've seen enough bands live to know experiencing them live is the best way to take the sound in.
And half of the shit they do doesn't sound like it would translate live.
Or they're just a less attractive Falling in Reverse, playing to some track.
@@nolankuffner3573 who cares if its good live? It sounds sick on the recording and thats the version everyone listenes to
Hard disagree, It was a slightly more interesting breakdown than most in the symphonic Deathcore genre but no breakdown of the year bro.
@@nolankuffner3573 nah it sounds sick
I liked the breakdown in Poetic Edda better but honestly they are just competing with themselves at this point.
can we talk about how funny the knight drinking with a straw was?
😂😂😂😂
Facts: Nik's great great great grandfather did the twitch stream when Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" dropped. Said the breakdowns were splendid AF
In speaking of "this sounds like Shadow Of Intent", Ben Duerr literally features on a song on this EP.
WE FINALLY COVERED IT!! THIS EP KICKS ASS I LOVE IT
yeah too bad he reduced it to just some random band trying to "out lorna shore lorna shore" ...
oh finally someone who does orchestral sounds in metal well thank god
Right?!! Cradle Of Filth left me wanting for something better. This is it.
If you like this, you might look at Folterkammer. Symphonic black metal with a classically trained operatic vocalist.
@@Deletiriumcheck out witchcraft obtained enslavement. 100% classical influence even the guys in the band studied music theory(i know i sound like a nerd but it does make a difference!)
I enjoy most of Kamelot as well
Fleshgod Apocalypse has similar sounds, but it doesn't quite scratch that itch, a collab is in order...
@@tyr8264 Holy fuck, I forgot about those guys! SO good!
Probably the most underrated best deathcore band out there. They deserve *at least* 1 million monthly listeners.
it rly should be called Mozartcore.
Doesn't really sound anything like Mozart. Vivaldicore. (🤓)
@@perlundgren7797 lol yea youre probably right 😅🤭
I mean, even Lorna Shore struggles to keep 1 million.. And they are the most mainstream Deathcore band, but yeah, they deserve everything, they are talented AF.. Easily the best Deathcore out there right now.
This ep is sick I can listen on repeat without getting bored at all
It ain't stupid it's badass asf lmao
The classical elements make it sound sophisticated and then you get hit with a nasty breakdown
"This is exactly what homie thought back in the day" 🤣 you made me laugh so hard. Loving this vivaldicore, I'm kind of a vivaldi fan and deathcore too so this was a neat merge. Epica also covers Summer (presto) on a more symphonic-core-instrumental way, very cool too
Vivaldi featured on a Carnifex song on their World War X album.
@@toyotaecw I meant Antonio Vivaldi (not Angel Vivaldi), classical composer who wrote the original song covered in this video, Winter, part of the four seasons of Vivaldi
Damn I hope he actually listens to this in his own time and actually appreciate it instead of shitting on all of the most creative parts
Exactly my thoughts, I listened to this in my car the first time just blasting it... and holey fuck it was so fun to listen to. Just insanely creative and cinematic. The breakdowns are completely original. It just seems like hes hating on it because hes a "breakdown" musician that didn't think of this first lol. Theres nothing stupid about it, and I respect the hell out of the musicians for programming it.
this guy likes a certain type of metal I'd prefer him to not even do bands like this cause he doesn't appreciate the musicality
He has gen z tik tok brain, what can you expect?
So this is collaboration of just 3 guys. Disembodient Tyrant is fully one guy (vocals, guitars, programming) and Synestia is two people (vocalist and instrumentalist). For me, this is almost fully Disembodiet Tyrant EP, because I almost don't hear Synstia singer in these songs. BTW, best EP of the year for sure. Have a nice day guys!
PS: All of the tracks contains parts of The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, (you can hear these parts in the songs if you know what they are)
This entire EP is crazy good, so happy they are getting more recognition.
This album is so fucking wild. There is zero chance anyone will release a better EP this year. Hell, the 20 minutes here is better than most albums in 2024.
turns out just throwing a massive choir over your breakdown is pretty gnarly
EP of the fkn decade
After listening to something that heavy I need a new wage war song to balance things out.
😂
I'm gonna show this my mother. I bet she likes this classical music.
I just appreciate the lyrics being in subtitles.
5:44 deer jumpscare
Dude I heard this yesterday and immediately thought of you..thought to myself "Nik needs to hear this". The ending of the song is SO BRUTAL..love it.
Found this band by random chance popping up on my playlist. "I, The Devourer" is so disgustingly fucking heavy I was hooked instantly.
Agreeed, for me I prefer it over Lorna shore but Darko US hits different
I'd hate/love what they'd do to Holst.
How have you not heard them before??
Check out both I, The Devourer and The Poetic Edda
He has listened to I, the Devourer on a couple of the chat music suggestion streams. He just hadn't gone out of his way to listen to more.
tbf all of these bands blend together at this point, unless they bring in something new (and that's rare)
I love this ep been waiting for these 2 new ones for ages
This EP has taken over my playlist for the last few days. Love it
The breakdown was otherworldly, gawd, I love these guys and happy to see them getting attention
Winters not a cover it has elements of winter from the four seasons infact all 4 songs have an element of each season in them
With the addition of the 2 new songs, the complete EP sounds quite amazing.
I fucking knew exactly what was about to go down as soon as I read the title. The Poetic Edda is fucking amazing
About time you gave this band some recognition
I just listened to it yesterday, it is such a beautiful song.
Ok, now I need a deathcore version of Jupiter by Holst. That was pretty awesome.
this ep absolutely SHITS on lorna shore imo
Thank you, I can’t stand everyone calling a band with symphonic Lorna shore, this is a whole new level
Yea I seriously don’t get how he can praise Lorna so much and not think this is insane. It’s better than anything they’ve put out
@@phaaaze9984 my thoughts exactly. this is 10x more creative and has so much more character. lorna makes 7 minute songs that are as bland as possible and all sound almost identical
Lorna Shore writes better breakdowns than this one, but other than that, I still wouldn't say this beats Lorna.
@@LaughingSkull451 you'd have to define "better" cus i find this infinitely more creative and unique, especially given that disembodied tyrant is one 20 y/o dude. ofc it all comes down to opinion but id say it's arguable that this is more unique and creative with the symphonic elements. much more character to the music.
this EP is incredible. The Poetic Edda is my personal favorite on there
The breakdown in Death Empress reminded me of the second breakdown in Jiluka's Venom (better known as Blegh😂). Filthy sick songs.
I said the same exact thing!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought if by that too.
@@jahleelbarnes787 Yeah, sounds extremely similar.
Mozartcore
Erm actually, this is Vivaldicore
vivaldicore bruv🤓
Not only is it not mozartcore, but it's everything Mozart's lame music wasn't (sorry, sue me, I like less "pretty" classical)
@@KytexEdits idk, Mozart’s Requiem goes pretty hard at times
Well I’m sold. I kept seeing this pop up in my suggestions on Spotify but I had no idea what it was. Needless to say, it’s now been added to the Library. Thanks again, Nik.
they def outshored the lorna
Blake you are on a God Tier Level of Vocals I am here with you FOREVER
Dude this ep is my favorite this year
My head hurts just by how incredible this is! Mixing classical and deathcore is about as full a sound that can be for music, at least to me!
YYEEEEEEESSSSSS...... MORE.
I'm not even a deathcore fan, and I love this.
You could put lorna shore mental cruelty and imminence all in this band that’s how insanely awesome and epic and talented. They are a brutally sick. Nik and their new EP is my EP of the year. There is nothing that probably even gonna come close to that for me.
This is one of my favorite new bands to jam to. Always so huge and brutal.
I've never bought an EP as fast as this one, love it
Synestia feels like something I've been missing all my life and I just found it
its giving something you listen to during a bloodsouls boss fight
Nick.. I'm sorry man, but you failed to see that this is clearly the best Deathcore of our time.. I mean, by far
@oppressorb7196 it’s not only the best deathcore but flat out just the best metal of our time. It just redefined metal as we know it.
@@corrupted_mannerism Not saying that it's bad - far from it - but how is it redefining metal? Electronic and classical elements has been around for ages.
Everytime I hear ending break down. Sounds like Venom of Jiluka
Was nik drunk/high here?
I love these guys they just can’t make a bad song
Vocalist sounds like the guy in Snuffed on Sight. Sick!
7:05 goes insanely hard
This made my soul happy.
Listen the full EP. Is very good. All four songs are good
Nagyon jó zenék 😮 Ez a srác nem tud értékelni semmit.
Lol that deer has some monster vocals
This is my favourite shiz at the mo. Love. It.
Two of my favorite genres deathcore And classical what's not to like.
Oh. Found my new favorite thing since Lorna Shore. This is dope
I love the fact that everybody talks about lorna shore with this kind of music, meanwhile its way more shadow of intent (who did this btw earlier then lorna). But if you just staying with the statement outLornaShore then thats exactly what Lorna Shore themselfs are doing since Immortal from idk like 2019
Braekdown of the year for sure
I’m blown away
Winter is coming and it's crimson snow fall.
Those 4 Songs are just art 🔥🔥
I listened to this whole album the other day and hoped you'd do a react! Winter is so well done.
New core classical core
So i was just digging into what's close to being this, but in instrumental/orchestral form (Amadeus Indetzki: Highness. Opus: Epic Neoclassical Trailers. Opus: Epic Classical Themes)... 👍
Very very good songs!
My sister just revealed to me the song is literally the winter by vivaldi
One of the best things ive ever heard
"intro reminds me of Vivaldi" - mate, that intro IS Vivalid
This entire EP is going to be tough to top for Song/EP/Album of the year.
You can just tell when a metal musician is upset that he didn't think of that first XD
If guitar hero game came back this EP should be in their playlist
Didn't care for much to start and ended up super digging it....dang
I'm immediately listening to Graal by Ne Obliviscaris after this.
Can someone tell me, the organ that we hear starting at 7 minutes 34 seconds; which music does it come from? please ? :)
This band is so wicked
This sounds like something that Dracula would listen to if he was a metalhead
Is it just me or does the end breakdown of the first song sound almost identical to the end breakdown in VENOM by JILUKA
EP of the year
Im bricked up af right now
Bro I would love to hear a cover of Death Empress ngl
Disembodied Tyrant ils Guitarist-singer and a drummer. Synestia is all a band
This was wild
Im pretty sure nik was high for this
I'll be rocking them 🤘
