I wear an aluminum version for about 400-500 days now, everyday. Ok, it‘s just an office job but watch and screen look like new. I‘m still amazed! A friend has a stainless version and that thing is full of scratches on the other hand. Just thought this might help someone with the decision. The aluminum is also very light, much cheaper and looks classy enough with a milanese bracelet. It can literally do everything. 100% would buy again.
I had the aluminum one and the display was scratched after a half year. Then i accidentally totaled it breaking the screen. I bought a stainless steel version and the body is scratched but the screen looks amazing after another half year there is no scratch. Not even a tiny one
I have a series 2 space grey aluminum, i looking at the ss but if I get the aluminum again it’s for sure gonna be white cus there’s (especially on the wheel) too many little dents that expose the sliver aluminum. also a screen protector cus it scratched horribly. all visual tho still works great :)
I always go for Aluminum. Had my Apple Watch Series 0 in stainless steel and hated the micro scratches that needed to be polished only to reappear in few weeks on normal wearing. Aluminum cover is much more durable in real life as it is very hard to ‘ding’ the side when the watch is on your wrist and most of the damage comes from scratches not from hard blows. I also prefer matte finish of the aluminum over shiny stainless steel version. Especially in space gray version it perfectly matches the screen creating seamless effect vs stainless steel space gray that always looked plasticky and fake to me. Finally, with these watches being replaceable pieces of jewelry, no reason to spend more then you need when you pretty much know that in a year or two nobody would care about the case material but everyone will see that you are wearing an obsolete smartwatch.
Ramon Rivas Finally someone said something else that wasn’t about it’s price tag. You’re completely right. Not having SS in a non-cellular model is just bad. Even after 4 series some countries doesn’t even support e-sim or only have one carrier. Same shit with apple-pay. Digital globalization is going very very slowly even in countries like Sweden. I remember when apple pushed for micro and nano sims even that was a hot debacle.
So agree with you. For me, the ss model is the only watch I’ve ever worn, since I started wearing watches as a teenager, that I have had zero allergic reaction to. I have the series 0 and would like to upgrade to series 4 but resent the idea of paying $100 or however much it is for LTE when I know I will not turn the service on because I’m also not paying $10/month to be able to talk from my wrist. Come on Apple be better.
That was the exact reason I chose the aluminum. I wanted stainless steel but didn't want the cellular version - just the GPS version. It wasn't worth an additional 120 a year in service plus 100 for the watch to me.
had a aluminium space grey for 3 years. It never got dinged/bent up in my case, but i am a white collar worker. Aluminium should be strong enough though, they do make aircraft out of it.
It really comes down to what you can afford. I got the Gold Stainless steel and never looked back. This this is amazing. I get compliments at the office and out on in the town on it. It is so elegant and perfect. Can never go wrong with gold.
Thank you for doing this review, it’s hard to find any videos on how the Apple watch wears out. Most videos sound like the reviewer is just reading of the consumer website every one sounds the same. You sir actually sound like you know what your talking about!
Aluminum no doubt! I mean this is a pice of tech that is going to be obsolete in a few years. It not like this is going to be a family heirloom or something.
I prefer the stainless steel in terms of looks because it looks classier and the aluminum looks way out dated or old like the previous Apple Watch series, but in terms of money I think the stainless steel is way more expensive and pricing quite absurd
Just bought the gold ss, 44 mm with the stone colour band and OMG its stunning i would never look back. Yes it cost mych more but boy is it worth every penny. It just feels and looks so luxurious - im just totally in love with it.
I love the look of the aluminum models, but stick with stainless steel for the extra tough sapphire display and the ability to polish the case back to brand new (with the silver).
I have had Series 0, Series 1 Aluminum models and now have a Space Black SS S3. Both the aluminum models ended up with pretty noticable scratches to the screen after normal use after only a few weeks and really annoyed me. I went with SS for series 3 and after a full year I have 0 scratches to the screen or body. It is heavier but you get used to it. Stainless models are worth the extra money to me based on the more durable screen alone.
I just bought the stainless steel model, because I use my watch all the time. Yes, it's a lot more, but it really is all about what you want in a device. May daughter got the aluminum case, and she loves it. I opted for more durability, and took advantage of the Verizon Cyber Monday deal and got a $100 off. My thinking is that it's worth $5 more a month. But, as your reviewers comment, it will be outdated and/or cost you more in the long run because of the cellular feature. I agree that the stainless steel in no-cellular would be a great option.
I am can't stop enjoying it lol I use, well used, my watch regular being in the gym, working as a paramedic, etc. and over the years the Series 0 become nothing more than a time and notification check, the lags were beyond painful!
That all depends if you choose to get the more expensive Apple Watch through your carrier which will allow you to do monthly payments. So yes but on the thickness of your wallet.
If they were all the same price, I would have still gone with an aluminum AW. I like the lighter weight and scratch resistance. I am always careful with my watches so I never get a ding anyway. The extra cost and unneeded cellular option of SS will never get my pick.
As much as I like the look of the SS, I absolutely cannot justify spending $300 extra just for that... Also because I have no interest in cellular for its higher MSRP + $10+ dollars a month for some separate data plan that should not be a thing in 2018 to begin with.
Buying the data plan for your watch is optional.... also, why would anyone buy a cheap aluminum watch, do you just like showing people that you're cheap? If you can't afford the stainless steel, you shouldn't even be buying the watch to begin with.
I completely agree. Paying over $300 just for stainless steel and sapphire glass is insane. I would never use the cellular option so that would just be a wasted feature for me. And Neil I can assure you it has NOTHING to do with being able to afford it! Some people are simply smart with their money and don’t go mindlessly spending it without justifiable reason...
BuckeyeBlitzTV "Mindlessly spending?" Its $300 bucks, thats barely a days worth of pay... its not like you're purchasing a home. If you can't afford that, again, you don't even need to be buying this watch from the start. Its like saying I shouldn't have bought my BMW that can reach speeds of 200mph+ simply because I won't be using that potential. You are the perfect example of people that live beyond their means, yet you claim mindless spending, LMAO. Don't be ignorant.
Thanks for drawing attention to the weights! I want the lightest possible for my small wrists and so I have to necessarily stick to 40 mm aluminium; Found that to be already 4 grams heavier than the 38 mm I have. So no stainless steel for me :(
First Apple Watch so went cheap with the aluminum to see if it’s for me. As a newcomer to the Apple smart watch I was quite surprised by the huge price difference between the two. The only thing I really will miss is the sapphire glass vs the more scratch prone ion x. My premium watches are all sapphire, that glass is superior, extremely durable and scratch resistant vs any other glass. Figure on using a screen protector to help out the ion x glass. As someone mentioned upgrading a $700 watch every couple years is allot more painful than a $500 one, especially if your already upgrading a $1200 iPhone
But you don't throw your old devices into the trash I hope and you can get quite a nice amount of money for your "old" devices that will still get updates for years from Apple.
Janet J. Be careful with it. Although it’s tiny, I already scratched the color off of the stainless on mine after just a week of having it. It took me a year to scratch the aluminum on my series 4, so I’m kinda upset because I got stainless to avoid that. I wanted to keep the stainless for a few years but if it’s gonna look like shit I’m just going to upgrade again next year & get aluminum.🙄
With my stainless steel Apple Watch I polished the scratches and blemishes with Cape Cod polishing cloths and looks brand new after every polish. The gold and space black can’t be polished due to the coloring.
Lance , I was looking Into getting the SS but did worry about all the scratching, although it can be polished I was wondering about the speakers and all the internals getting ruined by the chemicals from the polish. Have you had any issues with that? It’s pretty hard to avoid getting anything into those.
My Series 1 is aluminum and my Series 2 is stainless. I absolutely agree that the stainless steel version looks more like jewelry. I didn’t think that would matter to Mr. Practicality Engineer Geek here, but much to my surprise, I really do have an appreciation for the high-quality jewelry look and feel of the stainless steel! It looks classy, and surprisingly, that matters to me! However, much more importantly, the sapphire crystal makes a real, practical difference, as well as simply looking better: The glass front on my aluminum S1 did get scratched, in only one year of use, whereas the sapphire front of my stainless S2 is still pristine after two years of use. Consumer Reports did some scratch testing on it, and concurred that the sapphire crystal is indeed very hard to scratch. In short, it really does make a difference, folks!
My aluminum iWatch face has a little ding and scratch after not even 30 days. I mostly keep a protector on it, but I like to change bands. If I went with the ss I would probably end up saving money from not buying more bands and protectors. I don't have a job where it can get damaged.
Funny that non one focuses on the sapphire glass of the SS model, versus the Ionic glass of the aluminium model. I have the aluminium S3 and I tripped in the park and fell. The glass got scratched! Cost me $100 plus my Apple Care price of $80 to get it replaced! If I had the SS then this wouldn't have been necessary. Now I am ordering a S4 in SS space black.
I'm debating whether or I should get a silver or space grey Apple Watch Series 4 since I have an Space Grey iPhone X S Max. I wish I could get it in silver or space grey Stainless Steel without LTE. But since I'm a college student I have to basically settle with the aluminum version
NileshR12 I have the exact same problem. I’d absolutely get to gold stainless steel if it were cheaper, but the aluminium gold just looks bad and I can’t decide between the other two.
grandthestauto probably because it was made out of the best material... I’ve had my ceramic series 2 over a year and a half.. I have dropped it, scraped it against a brick wall, amongst other hard rough surfaces... still not one scratch on the facing or ceramic! And it’s a beautiful watch!! I don’t know anyone personally w the ceramic one but I love it!! I just ordered the 4 gold stainless steel!
Kennii Kalonji I ended up ordering the gold SS with the stone sport band instead of Milanese loop.. I ordered Milanese loop separately through Apple. I ordered the watch through AT&T and will pay $35.00 monthly for 20 months.. total cost.. $700.00, but least I’m not paying it all upfront.
Let me help you decide: Shiny VS non-shiny, a $300 roundtrip ticket to Hawaii vs no Hawaii. I actually think matte finish has its own charm and is more practical. ALSO, the scratches are easily removable from stainless steel.
I find the stainless steel waaaaaaay too expensive compared to the aluminum for what it is. If you're the kind of person who's always all dressed up and wants to have shiny on you all the time then why not, but if you're just a normal person who doesn't necessarily want to have everyone looking at you the aluminum seems more worth it. Not to forget that you can have very classy bands to go with the aluminum models and other than the fact it's shiny and has a stronger glass ( if you have Apple care that doesn't even matter ) it doesn't bring enough to justify the price, imo. But they're both very beautiful !
Nine B Apple care is expensive and a glass renewal costs extra. I had the Alu version of watch 3 for 5 months and it was heavily scratched on the glass. Consider steel version now.
I'm still using the Stainless Steel version of the Series 0, gonna replace with the SS space black one now (ordered 5 minutes after the website went up after the reset and got 2nd to 9th october delivery date....). Planned to get a ceramic one, but sadly they dropped that version this time around, i might just get an additional Nike version now from the money they forced me not to spend, or just a couple Hermes bands.
ive usually gone with the aluminum model space grey but this year I'm leading towards the space black stainless steel for durability and polish not to mention the sapphire glass
To everyone talking about going for aluminium due to price and future trading up... which do you think will resell for more/hold its value better? I’m guessing buyers would opt for SS in the used market 🤷🏻♂️
The ion x glass holds up better to drops. The Sapphire Glass is more scratch resistant (not by much but better) and is more prone to cracking due to the hardness.
you mentioned that the black stainless hides minor scratches better than the stainless silver. What is your opinion on the new stainless gold? Do you think the gold would hide scratches equally as well as the stainless black, worse, or better?
They only problem I have the with the Apple watch stainless steel is that they don’t have good resale value. the aluminum version to me make more sense and they have a more reasonable resale value, because you don’t pay as much for it as you would with the stainless steel. So for the series 4 I am going with the sport instead of the steel this time around.
The list of differences is short and you did a good job presenting the ones you mention. However, you failed to mention two very important differences (1) The stainless watch costs $200 more than the equivalent aluminum model. (2). The gold watch in stainless is a deeper, richer bourbon gold compared to the aluminum slightly pinkish light gold. Should have mentioned these differences. Lack of band choices is also worth mentioning without going into detail.
I’ve read that the sapphire appears more washed out and hard to see in ambient outdoor light because it is nearly twice as reflective than the Ion-X Glass. Is this your experience? I want sapphire for the shine and scratch resistance, but that has me concerned.
Last year I got the cellular version for the larger storage. This year the price difference between cellular and gps is even more and there are fewer differences. This year I really want the stainless steel, but then I have to eat the cost of the cellular, which I don't need. If there was a gps only stainless steel model for $100 less, I would definitely opt for it. Knowing myself and the fact that I upgrade watches and phones each year, I can't justify spending the extra $300 for the stainless steel model. Though I would really really love that space black with a sapphire crystal display. That would be amazing, but I just can't bring myself to eat the extra cost....
I’m really Considering trading in my silver aluminum series 3 for the gold stainless steel but I have two concerns: scratches and how it’d look with most bands and outfits as silver aluminum goes with everything
+Michael Smart the space grey aluminium does not scratch. The space black steel also will not. But the silver steel will have a lot of micro scratches. Reviewer said that too. Not sure about the gold.
Ross B2 I came from a silver iPhone X and that thing was scratched to hell thats why I went with Space Grey this year. Seems to be better at not scratching.
Just buy the cheaper version. It’s not for long term use. You will be replacing it in a few years. Not like you have a Rolex that you can wear forever.
Joel Filoteo can I ask.. if you have Rolex etc which do you wear mostly? I have a tag heuer and all in am honestly never wear it so that’s why I’m looking at getting a SS Apple Watch version, they do look very classy!
I’ve got the series 2 gold aluminum and am considering upgrading to the series 4. I went to an Apple store just to see and feel the different models. I was very disappointed with the gold aluminum. Where my series 2 is a true gold the series 4 aluminum gold has a definite pink hue to it. I’ve got a couple of extra bands that won’t pair well with the pink hue. The series 4 ss gold is a true gold but I won’t pay an extra $320 just to get the right color. Don’t understand why Apple would change the aluminum gold. I’ll wait for the next series and hopefully they’ll bring back the gold aluminum.
Joel Hernandez Yeah, if you drop it... For my use it’s really difficult since i always have it on! I wear it in the morning and put it off when i go to bed.
I was thinking about which to choose but your video helped me to decide to go with the aluminium. I use my Watch for riding trails with my MTB and I sweat, I crash, eat dust, mud, everything. The alu one will defnitely be more resistant to my needings.
Having a tough time deciding SS or Aluminum because I like to wear bracelets along side my watch and I currently have the 1st gen silver aluminum and really want something different now. Any ladies here that can make suggestions?? My favorite bracelet to wear is my Pandora one.
I thought I liked the stainless but I am glad that I went to see them in the store because I actually liked the look of the aluminum watches better. They look clean and matte. The SS ones looks sort of smudged up and gross to me.
I have the Series 2 aluminum. A great series. Have one scratch and two small cracks. You have to be looking for them to find them. No effect on performance.
I currently have a Space Grey aluminum Series 3 LTE watch. While I love it and I’m waiting for ECG to be approved in Canada before I upgrade, I think my next watch will be the Space Black stainless steel watch. It’s just so nice. Hopefully I’ll get some trade in value.
I enjoy S4 40mm SS Blk & SS silver. More of a premium feel. As other series I’ve only owned SS & full ceramic S3 grey. However I’d consider a S4 aluminum Nike for outdoors use w AirPods ...
Well, I went for the stainless steel (gold) for the first time. Now I have the 2nd generation in gold, before I had the 0-gen in space black. But that one gave me a rash. The gold one was marked as not containing nickel back then, so I went for that next. Now they don't say what model contains more or less nickel anymore. I didn't think about the additional weight, I will see how that bodes. But I also don't like the way the aluminium version get the display scratched easily. I got my 2nd gen replaced (for the 2nd time) recently and after a few weeks the display is already quite badly scratched again. None of my previous watches had that kind of problems.
The new SS AW8 graphite I just got also has given me a rash. Never happened with my aluminum AW5. Now I don’t know if I try another color of SS or if I have to go back to aluminum
@@Raec123 can't really tell you, I'm sorry. Maybe in the end it has something to do with the darker colors. never had a dark one again and never again had a rash.
Not taking price into consideration, do I get series 4 Nike+ in silver aluminum(with cellular), stainless steel gold(to match my phone) or stainless steel silver (to match all the bands)
-Lily- I don’t own any Apple Watch (yet) but I think it all depends on your taste. I guess if you are more into fitness and want a bit more watch face options go with Nike+. If i comes to color bands, again it’s your own opinion. iJustin (youtuber) has a video of getting multiple color bands for her Series 4 Gold Stainless Steal. It’s up to you.
@appleinsider Thanx a lot for this video.. the apt topic I was confused for days before buying the iWatch.. I went to the store for 3 times n tried to choose but Cudnt.. SS is shiny rich but scratchy but has Saphire to advantage.. Aluminum is same but not saphire n Matt finish.. if I’m gonna upgrade iWatch every year then Aluminium is better.. SS has way too high price though the black looks sexy..
Thank you! I needed to know this. I just got the stainless steel graphite and first day got a rash. Little pin size dots under the watch face on my wrist. And a burning sensation. I may have to go back to aluminum
I definitely prefer the stainless, but while waiting for my trade-in $ on the series 3 I shipped back, I'm undecided on whether to get another stainless black or this time go for stainless gold. I owned the black series 3 for a year and it still looked like new. I don't know if the gold will hold up as well.
@@Raec123 stainless gold, which received a lot of compliments when I’d use it for ApplePay, but I thought I should have gotten the stainless black instead, just prefer that look.
Wanted one ever since the first one came out but I wanted better health tracking. I like got the black SS with the malinese loop band. Was expensive but I like premium watches.
Ive got a s1 so its time for an upgrade. Had it for about 2 1/2 yrs and looks brand new. Used a screen protector and a case most of the time tho. I really want to get the gold ss but im worried about the scratches. Thoughts??
I’ve always wanted to have a stainless steel silver 44mm version with the stainless steel silver link bracelet. Unfortunately all I can afford or am willing to pay for is the aluminum version. My space grey 44mm aluminum version should be here by the first week of November.
Aluminum dissipates heat much better than stainless steel. The Apple Watch shouldn't be effected by performance issues but the iPhone X, XS, and XS Max will. The stainless steel will hold the heat in throttling performance.
I had a ss series 2 but decided to get the aluminum one for the series 4. I liked the weight of the series 2 but if I’m upgrading these every 2-4 years I rather save the money and get the cheaper ones m. Plus at the gym the less weight is a big plus
I'm about to buy the series 4, but I was able to find Stainless Steel and Aluminum for the SAME price, in my opinion the aluminum looks better, but as stainless steel is WAY more expensive, maybe I will be able to sell it for a better price when I want to buy a newest version of the watch??
I have the stainless steel series 3 in silver. Love it! The micro abrasions are there but no one else will see them. The ss definitely stands out. I had the aluminum 1st gen and always wanted the ss. I wont be going back to aluminum
I’ve loved my SS Series 1 watch and was thinking of upgrading (as 2 and 3 didn’t seem like much of an upgrade) but as someone who travels for work getting a cellular watch where I’m tied to it working in only 1 country is pointless but I don’t think I could go from SS to Aluminium aesthetically. Hope they bring out some more options further down the line as this is a nice watch.
I love the polished look of the stainless steel model as well as the sapphire cover, but I find the stark price difference hard to swallow especially considering there is zero additional functionality. So despite my love for the polished ones I always end up getting the aluminum model...
300= 100 for cellular 100 for the steel and 100 for the sapphire glass. Except for the cellular I think it’s worth paying 200 for a stronger body and look and a scratch free screen so you don’t have to worry about screen protector or scratches
I owned a series 3 cellular and now series 4 Went space aluminum both ends around , kind of wish I went stainless silver . Every apple band looks so much classier and sleek with stainless then with aluminum . Giving the extra cash for stainless next time around.
Just bought a 40mm series 4 in silver aluminum! It’s more futuristic looking and designish. On the other side it reminds me less of the traditional watch experience.
The apple store employee told me the differences between the two versions is "basically a mercedes and a honda" word for word. this video is well informed and visually pleasing, way better than what that employee told me
What do you think of the glass ? I had an apple watch S2 sport version which i had completely scratched all over the glass in 2 weeks. I didn't even realize i scratched it until i saw it. I am usually very careful with my tech and the glass from the Series 2 still scares me to buy another aluminium watch. I have two gen 0. and 1. stainless steel watches which i use and until today they don't have any scratches. They still look like new.
What kind of blue color is the strap that appears with the golden stainless steel watch and the kind color of the orange or maybe brown that appears too with the black stainless steel watch?
MarkThisWayAfter if someone is going to go through the process of making a whole video why not give all the information if you’re comparing you can google the specs on the whole damn watch if that’s the case. It’s always an asshole in the bunch
That has to be a non space black ss.
I had the aluminum one and the display was scratched after a half year. Then i accidentally totaled it breaking the screen. I bought a stainless steel version and the body is scratched but the screen looks amazing after another half year there is no scratch. Not even a tiny one
You can polish the stainless steel to get rid of the scratches. However, once you scratch aluminum it’s scratched forever.
You’re the best thanks for your comment !
I have a series 2 space grey aluminum, i looking at the ss but if I get the aluminum again it’s for sure gonna be white cus there’s (especially on the wheel) too many little dents that expose the sliver aluminum. also a screen protector cus it scratched horribly.

Wish they made the Stainless Steel in a non-cellular configuration. Some people don’t or can’t use cellular.
Ramon Rivas I agree 100%. I wrote Apple saying as much. I don’t need to speed $100 for a feature I don’t want or need.
I hope Apple listens.
Ramon Rivas Finally someone said something else that wasn’t about it’s price tag. You’re completely right. Not having SS in a non-cellular model is just bad. They should just make a aluminum version with a sapphire glass option for 100 USD more. Or include it on the LTE one.

Im still gonna rock my stainless steel series 0 for another year. Worn it for about 12 months, and still not a scratch on the screen! Great watch

How the fuck... $1000 my dude for a watch
Fango you the kinda guy to say the xr is 1000 in 2020
I love the look of the aluminum models, but stick with stainless steel for the extra tough sapphire display and the ability to polish the case back to brand new (with the silver).
That gold Stainless Steel looks so amazing, day one for that watch 😍
SS looks great, but can't justify the price. Picked up a s4 44mm space gray on launch day. Seems you guys had alot of focusing issues with this video
I bought the aluminum model last year and it still looks brand new.
what color?
I have had Series 0, Series 1 Aluminum models and now have a Space Black SS S3. Congrats...am still rockin Series 0 SS SG. R U enjoying the upgrades?! Also I need to check what the price is for the a cellular service via Verizon!
dwayne williams ...whoa, rip off is correct sir! Thanks for the info.
I am can't stop enjoying it lol I use, well used, my watch regular being in the gym, working as a paramedic, etc. and over the years the Series 0 become nothing more than a time and notification check, the lags were beyond painful!
JustNOrdinaryPage ...I concur. Am a fire protection inspector and would enjoy more physical stats as well. Thanks for the info!
Precisely! No problem you're gonna love it too
How to choose? The thickness of your wallet decides, not anything else.
That all depends if you choose to get the more expensive Apple Watch through your carrier which will allow you to do monthly payments. So yes but on the thickness of your wallet.
Thierry Saint-Jour LOOOL
Thierry Saint-Jour 😂😂
you only need one: Black card without limit.
René Kulik LOL 😂
Got the aluminum 44m Gold..Looks great with the Max in gold! No need to pay an extra $200 for SS shiny material.
If you can't afford the stainless steel, you shouldn't even be buying the watch to begin with.
neil HAHAHAHAHAHA. Try again, Neil.
Danny *Stop crying, poor kid. LMAO!!!!!!!!*
Love my Silver SS, definitely worth the extra money over the Aluminum no question
Thanks for drawing attention to the weights! I want the lightest possible for my small wrists and so I have to necessarily stick to 40 mm aluminium; Found that to be already 4 grams heavier than the 38 mm I have. So no stainless steel for me :(
I got the black SS in 44mm and I LOVE IT
First Apple Watch so went cheap with the aluminum to see if it’s for me.
Just got the stainless 5 Series - gold. Love it!
Hail Rain bro that’s tough, what color?
With my stainless steel Apple Watch I polished the scratches and blemishes with Cape Cod polishing cloths and looks brand new after every polish. The gold and space black can’t be polished due to the coloring.
Lance , I was looking Into getting the SS but did worry about all the scratching, although it can be polished I was wondering about the speakers and all the internals getting ruined by the chemicals from the polish. Have you had any issues with that? It’s pretty hard to avoid getting anything into those.
The gold and black can’t be polished? Why not?
shartzie you might polish off the finish/paint.
Nick Valadao true!! Loving my s4 silver ss!
I've done the same thing with my iPhone X. It works incredibly well.
I don't have a job where it can get damaged.
omg i am falling in love with that navy blue color band ♥♥♥
Wait until the Series 5 comes out in September. Also, you can activate or deactivate LTE on the watches.
I was a huge fan of the ceramic Apple Watch. Gonna miss that thing.
Joshua Mueller why
grandthestauto probably because it was made out of the best material...
Tiffany H. What Tiffany said. The ceramic edition felt closest to a “real” watch.
Joshua Mueller yesss!! I agree!!! I’m going to switch out between the two when my gold ss arrives.
I have a space grey series 2 and have had no problems with scratching. For the price and features, I will now order the aluminium series 4.
Exactly.
SS silver 44mm to replace my OG series 0 SS silver. Can’t wait for the speed!
Same here 😊
ive usually gone with the aluminum model space grey but this year I'm leading towards the space black stainless steel for durability and polish not to mention the sapphire glass
To everyone talking about going for aluminium due to price and future trading up... which do you think will resell for more/hold its value better? I’m guessing buyers would opt for SS in the used market 🤷🏻♂️
Stainless Gold 44 for my first Apple watch to match my XS Max!
How good is the ion x glass? Obviously it's not as good as Sapphire Crystal but I don't plan on deflecting bullets with it.
Literally my dilemma right now going on in my cart. So glad to come across this video!
Lol. Well if you're only ordering it now you'll have a long before you get it
LOL hopefully not. That would suck. I'm hoping to get it this week.
However, you failed to mention two very important differences
(1) The stainless watch costs $200 more than the equivalent aluminum model.
THANK YOU KIND SIR, was looking for this comparison, GREAT VID!!
I picked up a stainless steel 42mm from the apple store earlier, i absolutely love it!
I prefer the stainless steel version, good video!
Just bought the series 5 stainless came from series 3 aluminum big jump for me 💫👌
How is your stainless steel holding up? I am thinking about ordering the series 5 in stainless steel but I’m so indecisive lol
This was a great video--just the kind I needed, since I am about to purchase a new Apple Watch.
I’m really
Considering trading in my silver aluminum series 3 for the gold stainless steel but I have two concerns: scratches and how it’d look with most bands and outfits as silver aluminum goes with everything
Brennan Ball aluminum scratches to shit. Stainless Steel does not at least the Space Grey one doesn’t.
Joel Filoteo the peasant watch if your ok with that!
AG Coarseman It’s simple if you buy the cheapest Apple Watch then it’s the peasant version end off
@@welds2077 i'm ok with that. I have several rolexes and I dont need to impress anyone.
Joel Filoteo can I ask.. if you have Rolex etc which do you wear mostly? I have a tag heuer and all in am honestly never wear it so that’s why I’m looking at getting a SS Apple Watch version, they do look very classy!
@@welds2077 my daily was the submariner
So if one is using a case and a screen protector, does it even matter?
I mean no. The difference is just the materials
Aluminum all the way just for the price.
i'Pare - My Singing Monsters 🤮
You end up paying more after you drop it and it cracks.. I had both
Joel Hernandez Yeah, if you drop it... For my use it’s really difficult since i always have it on! I wear it in the morning and put it off when i go to bed.
Joel Hernandez there’s apple care, plastic screen covers, even laser cut metal cases for that
Joel Hernandez They all crack mate trust me.
Aluminium is the only option in Norway, making the choice easy😂😅
What about the titanium and ceramics
aww man... I didn't know stainless version only came in cellular config... that's a bummer..
EnfantTerrible7 u can use it gps only ☺︎
I was thinking about which to choose but your video helped me to decide to go with the aluminium. I use my Watch for riding trails with my MTB and I sweat, I crash, eat dust, mud, everything. The alu one will defnitely be more resistant to my needings.
Not really if you’re crashing a lot aluminum is softer and will get dented more
I like the lightness of the aluminum. That black looks so clean!
Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.
Love the stainless steal ones. But hate the £800 price tag.
I went with the aluminum just based on price. I came from the series 2
give me the series 2...
Branson Bates 🤮
Any issues with micro scratches with the SS Gold ? Too soon?
Finally I got my Apple Watch series 6 aluminum T-Mobile 32 GB I love it
I have the Series 2 aluminum. A great series. Have one scratch and two small cracks. You have to be looking for them to find them.
No effect on performance.
I currently have a Space Grey aluminum Series 3 LTE watch. While I love it and I’m waiting for ECG to be approved in
Canada before I upgrade, I think my next watch will be the Space Black stainless steel watch. It’s just so nice. Hopefully I’ll get some trade in value.
what is the name of that blue colored band you have on the gold stainless? is that the horizon blue or denim colored ????
I enjoy S4 40mm SS Blk & SS silver. More of a premium feel. As other series I’ve only owned SS & full ceramic S3 grey. However I’d consider a S4 aluminum Nike for outdoors use w AirPods ...
Could you supply a link to the leather band for the stainless steel space grey Apple Watch please.
What colour band is that's with the gold stainless steal? Doesn't look like deep navy blue. Looks really good 😍
Well, I went for the stainless steel (gold) for the first time.
Maybe in the end it has something to do with the darker colors. never had a dark one again and never again had a rash.
why do you prefer the weight of stainless over aluminum, it is heavier I think?
Not taking price into consideration, do I get series 4 Nike+ in silver aluminum(with cellular), stainless steel gold(to match my phone) or stainless steel silver (to match all the bands)
-Lily- I don’t own any Apple Watch (yet) but I think it all depends on your taste. I guess if you are more into fitness and want a bit more watch face options go with Nike+. If i comes to color bands, again it’s your own opinion. iJustin (youtuber) has a video of getting multiple color bands for her Series 4 Gold Stainless Steal. It’s up to you.
Which did you choose? I’m having the same dilemma
Is the aluminum nickel free? As i have aged i get a rash from the slightest nickel.
It is 100% aluminum. No nickel blend
Which did you end up getting? I’m torn now between graphite SS or Gold
Under the water which one is more waterproof, aluminium or inox?
You the processor is incase in a chamber in the watch thus heat will still be the same
I had a ss series 2 but decided to get the aluminum one for the series 4.
Alton Bertie will u upgrade to series 4 yet? Struggling between series 3 & 4...
I owned a series 3 cellular and now series 4
Went space aluminum both ends around , kind of wish I went stainless silver . Every apple band looks so much classier and sleek with stainless then with aluminum . Giving the extra cash for stainless next time around.
Just bought a 40mm series 4 in silver aluminum! It’s more futuristic looking and designish. On the other side it reminds me less of the traditional watch experience.
The apple store employee told me the differences between the two versions is "basically a mercedes and a honda" word for word. this video is well informed and visually pleasing, way better than what that employee told me
I have the gold stainless steel Apple Watxh Series 5. I got it because i love the way it looks and how it matches with my phone.
Nice vid. I would recommend the Skinomi screen protectors especially for the aluminium model. I prefer aluminium mainly due to price.
What kind of blue color is the strap that appears with the golden stainless steel watch and the kind color of the orange or maybe brown that appears too with the black stainless steel watch?
What I don't understand is why they did not make the cellular ring in orange on the Hermes version...?
Apple wanted to go cheap and just upload a slightly variated software vs buying using a separate machine to paint an orange ring.
Why this video barely mentioned the big price difference?
Because he wants to tell you about something you dont know, he assumes that if you watch this video you’re already taking the prices into account
MarkThisWayAfter if someone is going to go through the process of making a whole video why not give all the information if you’re comparing you can google the specs on the whole damn watch if that’s the case. It’s always an asshole in the bunch
