Same, earlier this year I was really considering getting the series 3 but then I decided to just wait to see what the series 4 offered and now i preordered it
As soon as smartwatches have non invasive blood sugar monitor, all swiss watch companies will go bankrupt. I own 3 Rolex, 1 Patek Philippe, 5 Grand Seikos, 1 Longines Master Collection, 1 Tudor black bay. But I also have diabetes, and constantly making holes in my finger to get a blood sugar reading really pisses me off. As soon as smart watches come with that feature then I will wear them 24*7 and sell all my mechanical watches for good.
Thank you for continuing to cover the Apple Watch! Despite all the snobbery in the watch world, this is an incredibly useful watch that is a beloved part of my collection. Can’t wait to take delivery of my Series 4 in Stainless this Friday 😁
1bentley4ever Totally understand that perspective as well, and it’s valid. It’s the ones who look down on it like it’s “not a real watch” because it’s not mechanical that get me. I have quartz watches too, and the Apple Watch to me is like the next generation of quartz, if you will. I do not discriminate when it comes to watches!
My thoughts exactly - it tells the time and is as much a watch as anything. Just because it doesn’t have springs and screws inside doesn’t make it anything else. Still appreciate my mechanical time pieces and actually also the quartz ones but they have lost almost all the wrist time to an Apple Watch. Looking forward to Friday as well!
I have had the first version for about 3 years and it’s still working perfect to my suprise! Although sometimes literally the only thing I use it for is telling the time 😅😅
great video answered all of the questions i had about upgrading from my 42mm series 2 i have been a big fan of the apple watch as my series 4 is ordered already and i have already had the original as well as the series 2. i too was skeptical about the exact fit of the old bands fitting semlessly and this was the first video that actually showed an upclose look at that so thank you haha. also contemplated getting the 40mm as i was worried the bigger size would be huge but you pointed out the thinner design and i didnt really think about that.
Sad to say the Apple watch has become my daily wearer. Its replaced my Omega seamaster. If im not wearing the Apple watch, i miss its amazing functionality.
I agree with you! I miss not having my heart rate periodically monitored, my activity tracked, and not having to dig my phone out of my pocket when I feel my phone vibrate.
Stainless steel VS Aluminium? Would love to know your thoughts & opinions. Will be pre-ordering tomorrow. Totally tempted to get the Gold Stainless Steel with the Gold Milanese loop but wondering whether it's definitely better than the aluminium in all angles. Thanks in advance!
Great video thanks. Anyway we can get a follow up after a few weeks of wear? I’m curious to how this gold finish over steel holds up with daily use scratching etc etc. Would really help my decision on which steel version to get. Thanks again! Cheers!
I was expecting an actual review of wearing the watch for a week. What did I get? Regurgitation of what has been said at the keynote with some subjective opinions. Waste of time.

Umar Ali good for you. Wish it will be coming soon then you could sell those real watches and enjoy those smart (?) watches which each one will be obsolete and become piece of crap in a few years. rinse and repeat : )
@@Rainism969 I am a multi millionaire, do you think it will matter to me if they become obsolete ? I will just buy the latest version lol. People with such financial insecurities should not own luxury watches in the first place because you're fooling yourself, it's like a beggar using all his savings to buy a crown and pretending to be a king.
I noticed in your video you said your going to use your watch when you go for a run, I'd like to ask do you use the nike+app while running ?? if so do you have any issues with the app crashing or the display screen going up side down when you look at your watch whilst running ?? I own the last 2 apple watch nike edition & BOTH have app issues and I have multiple e-mails from nike saying they are FULLY aware of the app crashing , ! just want to say to your viewers who may be thinking of getting the apple watch nike edition to be warned of future problems you will encounter while your out running .
I am 65 and got my seres 4 today. Aluminum space gray, 44mm. I have smallish wrists, but 44is not too big. It,s great! Here is the deal . . . I have Parkinson's disease, and falling can be a big deal for me. My meds can drop my blood pressure too low and cause big problems. For many of us who are aging and have increasing health issues, this is more than a watch. It can save me from serious health issues, keep me in touch with emergency sources and daily helpers, and help me with keeping in better shape, which is critical for me. This watch helps me prepare for each uncertain day. Sorry, but Rolex isn’t going to do that for me. But, it will tell me the time . . .
Tbh the apple watch is great. I used to be skeptical of it until i decided to get one while it was on sales to test it out. A lot of people complain about the battery life but i mean i go to work at 8am get home from work, run errands, gym, hang out with friends etc and be home by 10-11pm almost everyday and still have about 30% to spare everyday. Then you just slap it onto the charger before you go to bed just like how you would plug in your phone every night but i dont see anyone complaining about that. At the end of the day it is a great product and you have to try it out yourself before you knock it i guess. Sure a nee model comes out almost every year but that doesn’t mean you can’t use the version 2 or something 3 years from now, it will be slow sure but its not like all of it function suddenly stopped working. My coworker still uses the v1 and hes happy with his, it does what he needs it to do, tell time and gives him notification while hes at work. Does it hold value? Nah prob not but its just one of those items where its price at a decent point enough where people don’t feel bad upgrading it when a new version comes out, plus apple to take in old model so when new model comes out you only paying a small ammount to get the new model maybe 100-200? It is an item where i think many will spend the money on rather than saving up for a rolex or something which can run up wel above 2k. Again this watch is target toward the average joe who don’t really care as much for mechanical watch or what not so.
Gold is the way to go on this version... I’ve had black because I’m scared of change but this just screams luxury & is the nicest gold I’ve seen in a while.
Can someone please make a series 4 versus series 0. I know not many people still have the zero but I’d love to see how far Apple has come from the series 0 I have.

Yours is the third review I’ve seen for the series 4, yet the first to show close ups of a 42mm band on the new 44mm watch. Thanks for that, I’ve got the 44mm on order with my carrier and will be picking it up this weekend and I’ve seen some 3rd party 42 bands I like. Your review gives me the reassurance to order them 😊
Just a suggestion (good video by the way) you should fill that room or film in a different room, the acoustics are horrible for RUclips videos in that place
One feature that came to mind when you put in your AirPods was the new Live Listen feature that turns your iPhone into a directional mic, which can be great when you're in a loud and crowded restaurant/bar and want to have a normal conversation with your dinner mate without yelling. Not exactly related to your Apple Watch review but worth mentioning especially if someone is slightly hard of hearing. I imagine using it in a movie theater or even at home by placing your iPhone next to the TV without having to raise the volume at night when everyone else is sleep but you have an itch to watch the gun fight in the movie Heat.
I’m still rocking a series 4. Aluminum, space gray and a black sport band. I tend to use my Mac constantly, as well as my smart phone. It’s nice to have something that ties those two together, plus I got it for free by taking part in a medical and technological research study.
I got the Apple Watch the 2nd week they announced they made it been waiting all these years for something really new physically and that 44mm is definitely a need
This is such a game over for the watch industry when I am thinking of buying this and putting my Patek 5980/1R and Rolex Day Date 116506 up for sale. I really don't need to impress myself and others with my watches anymore, I need a watch that will help and actually do something for me!
James Tarver supply for 5980/1R has been the lowest ever, hence the prices on the secondary marketing upwards of $100,000. I paid $55k for mine, so I am looking forward for the fool that will sweep up as right now we live in the horological bubble.
I might get my first Apple Watch 4 but can’t decide on GPS or LTE as always carry my iPhone X with me? Any advice do I really need to spent extra £100 for LTE version if have my iPhone X with me all the time?
Because I have been mugged 17 times in the past being disabled with Cerebral Palsy and l no longer like to take my iPhone out unless absolutely necessary. That why I got the Apple watch to glance quickly if there is anything important to deal with and also to keep an eye on my heath now and for the future. Thank you the last I got mugged was in 2011 😃 onwards and upwards l always say 😃
How do you wear the Milanese loop? I wear the part he has at the top at the bottom is that correct. From looking on the Apple site that’s how they have it. Can someone confirm how they wear it?
I was a little skeptical at first about smart watches, however, my boyfriend got me one for Christmas and I am very happy with it. It’s better than I expected it to be and I am actually utilizing its features more than expected. Both this and the Samsung watch(my boyfriend owns this one) are pretty good. Give them a try if you like watches!
Honestly can see the Apple Watch destroying the watch industry. I love my watches but I got to say I switched to Apple Watch and I cannot go without it. Everyone at work, on the subway and in the gym now has an Apple Watch. It’s a truly great bit of engineering
I had each generation and until the 4th gen I sold each one hoping the expectations would finally be what I was looking for. This is the watch to get and I’m looking forward and curious what could be next.
It’s very cool, I want one, mainly for fitness however I see no other use for it, it’s just a small phone strapped to your wrist. The main issue is £500 for what’s probably a two year lifespan, the outlay isn’t the issue but I still wear my Casio calculator watch, it works and does it’s job but any more than two to three years and this thing will be nothing short of useless..........somehow, I still fancy one.
Series 3 was the first smart watch I’ve ever considered. Series 4 May be the first smart watch I’ll actually purchase. Who knows
SgtHail Series 5 will be the first smart watch you will actually actually actually purchase.
Likewise.
Likewise, especially since my Max is coming in on Friday and I already have AirPods. Killer combo that would be

“These watches are significantly thinner, almost a millimeter thinner” lol

How long does the battery last
*Works only with iPhone?*
So fuck it
Is the walkie talkie feature for the cellular watch only or is that feature available on the GPS model as well?
The DISPLAY is bigger not the watch... they made it very clear in the presentation...

How many hours the battery will last if you don’t have your phone with you and you use your Apple Watch as both phone and watch????
It's cool to see what the Podcasts app looks like on the watch. I tried for 30 minutes and could never get it to work.
How the heck did you get this?

Good review. Watch is too small for larger wrists though.
The interesting thing is that I still use the iWatch 4 44mm and it's working like out of the box. No issues what so ever, 5 years later.
@hodinkee - Does apple watch series 4 work with iPhone SE or not??
Very nice video. Could you pls share the link where to buy that gold mesh strap pls pls thanks
The series 4 is going on my wrist and the Omega seamaster is going back to the drawer 😂
Its true, i bought it in December and have used it a handful of times since then.
I wear my Omega Seamaster on my left wrist and my apple watch on my right wrist. At the same time.
belroyale what a douche bag you must look! Haha
I did this at first however I am now back to wearing my omega nothing like a normal watch. I liked my Apple Watch it was great but I can’t be bothered to keep charging it and I missed wearing my other watches

How long does it hold a charge? 18 hours?
Depending on usage, I can get 2 full days. Sometimes slightly a bit more.
Fair play to hodinkee for reviewing it, they could easily have shed away from it but instead once again they gave a informative review.
The watch can exercise on my behalf and i lose weight when i woke up next morning. This is revolutionary!
Slow pace video and feels off. Also where's the review? It's all stuff that we already know from Apple's website.
Mohammed Shafei yeah it’s not even a review
Does the infograph come with the Nike editions?
one last question but does the non cellular models still have the ceramic back as i know that it is to help with reception
What's the regular watch he is wearing in this video.
Can you please start doing 'A Week On The Wrist' episodes on vintage watches?
Apple watches are great, I just find myself not wearing the series 3 enough to possibly purchase the new one , I always end up with a mechanical watch
also does the series 4 come preistalled with watch os 5 or must you do this after purchase as my universities wifi wont let my watch connect

usaid1234 exactly. This was nothing of experience for the week like the title reads.
80% of tech reviewers on RUclips do the same. It's sad.

Do the 42mm straps work with both the 40mm watch and the 44mm?
GoProGamer ! The 42mm strap only works with the 44mm and 38mm strap only works with the 40mm
great video, thank you

I was a little skeptical at first about smart watches, however, my boyfriend got me one for Christmas and I am very happy with it. It’s better than I expected it to be and I am actually utilizing its features more than expected.
Both this and the Samsung watch(my boyfriend owns this one) are pretty good. Give them a try if you like watches!
Still on my original stainless steel Apple Watch. Might upgrade to series 5 when it comes out
Honestly can see the Apple Watch destroying the watch industry. I love my watches but I got to say I switched to Apple Watch and I cannot go without it. Everyone at work, on the subway and in the gym now has an Apple Watch. It’s a truly great bit of engineering
How's that battery life? 🤔
Man I hate it when I forget to breathe
Not a fan of iphone but definitely like the watch, what do i do now 😯
1M views, or about 10x what other videos get. The power of Apple.
I had each generation and until the 4th gen I sold each one hoping the expectations would finally be what I was looking for. This is the watch to get and I’m looking forward and curious what could be next.
How about baterry life??
It’s very cool, I want one, mainly for fitness however I see no other use for it, it’s just a small phone strapped to your wrist. The main issue is £500 for what’s probably a two year lifespan, the outlay isn’t the issue but I still wear my Casio calculator watch, it works and does it’s job but any more than two to three years and this thing will be nothing short of useless..........somehow, I still fancy one.
