I just moved from a 40mm 7 series to 44mm SE. No change in performance, just as snappy. I wanted bigger face without paying silly price. I don’t miss always on display (never used it save battery) so far I’m really impressed with the SE. For day to day use it’s just as good as the 7 which I rocked for two years and three months. Was looking a bit worn and tired.
Actually in the watch se you can get the assistive touch thing too by just updating it so get the se it’s cheap and has like 85% to 90% of the same features

SE is the perfect value/quality watch AW. Two days battery life with two hours of GPS training outside. Always on display isn't a big thing, neither the size of the display or ECG. I think fast charging is the shttest thing that apple cut from SE watch.
One issue I’ve always had with any Apple Watch is picking any NON black color because with a black watch it does a good job at hiding the bezels from view - out of sight out of mind. With silver or any other brighter color watch the bezels really stand out and that bothers me.
I used the hand gestures from accessibility for my series 6 and over the two years since feature was released it was a huge battery drain and basically wrecked my battery which is at 78%. I just lost my Apple Watch Series 3. I’m excited to get the Series 9 since it’s been a while since I’ve had a new one. I never thought I’d depend on my Apple Watch as much as do. But I love it & can not be without one. I’m a mom & professor so the convenience of a smart watch is important for my life style. Thanks for this review. It made me feel better about my choice to go for the 9 over the other newer version.
After watching a couple of your videos, if you already have an SE probably worth sticking with it for another year. If you are just buying one now then go with a 9 or ultra if you don't mind pay the extra over the SE price.
I just picked up the series 9 this morning, I had the series 8 already but I upgraded that from the SE and gave my mom that one and she loves it but after I used it for about two years the battery isint the best even with me adjusting settings to help. I have only had the series 8 for 7 months or so and the battery life is great so i figured I’d get the 45mm series 9 and give my mom the series 8. I ended up giving my little sister the SE so my whole Apple watch collection is still in the family and working lol
Look man I’ve had the series 2 well before the 7, I’ve had an Apple Watch that doesn’t have an AOD, it makes a big difference. I’m not sure why you’re recommending the SE when the 7 will be similarly priced but include more features. I don’t recommend this video necessarily, just do your own research on apple watch specs and figure out which one is best for you.
I still have series 3. And I still think I will stick with them for probably next year or two. Those new watches are amazing but there is still no "big reason" for me to upgrade. If they would gave me at least a two-three day battery?! I would upgrade immediately.

Got mine today. 41mm is not too small. It's actually the perfect size and 45mm looks a bit gaudy and a bit too big in my opinion. If you're not 6'3" or more, and don't have much above average dimensions, go for 41mm. So much more comfortable than the 45mm too.

Thank you for your review, very interesting! I have an Apple Watch series 4 and I was thinking if it’s worth the buy to change it for an SE, especially for the battery, mine is literally dying ☠️
I use series 7. I have been waiting for longer battery for years now. At least 24 hours or more. I would love to try Ultra but it seems too big for my small wrist. Do you think next year we may get longer battery life in regular Apple Watch ??
I don't understand why Apple watches have such short battery lives. Other brands go for weeks, some for months.. Battery tech has made such progress in the past couple of years, surely this should show in the watches now?
Thank you for the video!! It helped me decide. I’ve had a series 3 gps/cell for many years. I’m finally upgrading but only because I’m forced to do so due to the battery life. I’m going with the SE2 cell. I don’t need any of the other health features that the series9 has to offer. The only thing that I am “iffy” about is the plastic backing instead of glass. I may change my mind once I see it in person.
Thanks to this video I’m a lot more happy upgrading from my Fitbit versa 2 I got January 2019 (perfect timing, right 😅) and no longer serves my lifestyle quite right to the SE!!

People here are making good analogies. As for myself, I would probably choose the AWS 9 GPS, because I don't have a cellular plan for my phone either (around here people pay 20 USD per month for unlimited access, but it's a lifestyle choice to balance between offline content i.e., books and audiobooks, and then using public/private wifi for active data streams). I can download Audible audiobooks on device and listen via Bluetooth without internet connection, and use several of the trackers online/offline. If I needed to stay in touch at a moment's notice, I could always take my phone with me. I figured seeing as I won't need the cellular option in the coming months, I can always upgrade in the future if it becomes necessary.
I don’t have a Apple Watch was thinking on getting one but not sure what one to purchase do I go with Apple Watch series 9 or Apple Watch SE 😬 any advice
I don't have an Apple watch, am very happy with my Citizen solar watch with battery life of about 15 years.. 😉 But I do have the SE iPhone which is good value for money. We are retired now so if I were to get an Apple watch I'd go for the series 9 as the ECG and oximeter functions will become important..
I think I am going to go with the SE cellular as my first watch. Looking forward to going on runs with Spotify & my AirPods, while leaving the iPhone at home. What size do you recommend? Love your videos, Greg!
44 for battery. I bought the small one, 40% are gone in 50 minutes of running with cellular, no music. 7 and forward have fast charge, which is nice for the days you come home with a bit lower battery health.
Good one, apple watch SE is my choice. At the end of the day any product may have any number of features and what we need matters. I need a no non-sense watch which tracks my fitness(automatically, didn't like Samsung gear) and some occasional calls/messaging.
I’ve pre ordered the S9 because my Samsung gear S3 is starting to give up the ghost saying that it is 6 years old, looks like I’ll receive it in about a week 😊
Let’s be honest.. i bought my first ever Apple Watch today. I used a 40€ xiaomi Fitness band, and I just can’t understand why the smart watch does cost over 200€. It doesn’t even have always on display. Idk but I think that you can easily do everything with a 30/40€ smart band without spending money on an Apple Watch. I will try this watch for a view weeks now, let’s see
How is your feedback? I’m using said Xiaomi band for >3 years now but consider upgrading to the SE for more a detailed sports analysis, heart rate and so on.
@@gamebreakerfn so , I’ve been using the SE 2 Months now. First of all, don’t buy it if you have full sleeve tattoos on your arms. I have a full sleeve on my left arm and the watch doesn’t work as the sensors can’t go through the tattoo color. So I’m forced to use the watch on my right arm. In general, I’m using the watch daily for my workouts, and it works great. I can leave my phone away and just use my watch to change music or read to messages. It’s tracking all my progress pretty well. Heart rate is also good, but not better than any other 40 dollars watch, to be honest. So at the of the day, if you have the money to buy it, go for it. But don’t expect it to be 90% better than a Xiaomi watch.
I am looking to replace a Garmin watch. (Venu SQ) It is struggling with things like connection after 2 years of use and I have a iPhone. My wrist is thin, so the Ultra are too big for me. I want at least all the features my Garmin watch has. I want to flip my arm to see the time, so not always on. Would it be possible to wear a SE 2023 for 24 hours in a row without going empty? What would be the benefits of cellular or no cellular? And looking at longer term durability, would a 9 last much longer than a SE 2023 or would it just be the same?
I’m upgrading to the new s9 I have the s5 and after 4 years the battery is drained and the heart rate sensor is soooo slow. Also it always stops picking up my activity during workouts. The won’t even work when I’m swimming anymore. So excited for it to come on Friday, I’m gonna go to the pool to test it! Also, I’m a pink lover so that’s a huge bonus
Bought the SE2 last year at the Apple Store..A point of note, folks. I can wear the 40 mm but wanted to have the Milanese Bracelet with it. Turns out that whilst I have small wrists, I have large hands and could not get my hand through the bracelet. Bought the 44mm with the Milanese Bracelet and I am very happy as I averted the crisis of buying on line.
@@nyseldias hello. The 40 mm looked ok on my wrist using a conventional strap. The viewing was fine as I tried on a friend’s Apple Watch 7 for size. With the Milanese bracelet, I could not get my hand through.
Great video! For me, personally, I am looking specifically for some of the health apps including blood oxygen an ECG, so it looks like the series 9 is the way to go. I did have a series 3 in the past so I’m sure the 9 will feel like quite an upgrade Thanks very much really enjoyed your informative and impartial opinions and review

Thanks for sharing. I’m staying with my Watch Series 7. Blessings on your day!
I got the SE from a hock shop a year or two ago now. Still works great and I really like it
Thank you very much! This was what I needed to know as never owning an apple watch before. I'll get the SE :)
You did it go did you make the right decision? I’m on the same spot as you
I wanna buy my first Apple Watch what do u recommend SE or the series 9?
Greetings
se gen 2
I think I am going to go with the SE cellular as my first watch. Looking forward to going on runs with Spotify & my AirPods, while leaving the iPhone at home. What size do you recommend?
Love your videos, Greg!
It depends on your usage and the size of your hand wrist
Saving up for the 9, 41mm! Does it matter which size sport band goes with the 41?@@pwk5380
44 for battery. I bought the small one, 40% are gone in 50 minutes of running with cellular, no music. 7 and forward have fast charge, which is nice for the days you come home with a bit lower battery health.
do you know if its safe to swim with an apple watch se?
Which one comes in the bronzer gold colour then
Upgrading from first gen SE to series 9
Good one, apple watch SE is my choice. At the end of the day any product may have any number of features and what we need matters. I need a no non-sense watch which tracks my fitness(automatically, didn't like Samsung gear) and some occasional calls/messaging.
I’m enjoying my Apple Watch SE first generation
I’ve pre ordered the S9 because my Samsung gear S3 is starting to give up the ghost saying that it is 6 years old, looks like I’ll receive it in about a week 😊
Just upgraded from a Series 2 to a Series 9. To be honest the Series 2 still worked perfectly well, but I do like the improvements in the Series 9.
How many year your apple watch now? Age
@@mjwontstop Sep 2016. 7 years. Rubbish for a watch, not bad for a piece of tech.
Damn I have a series 2 and considering the 9. Is it worth it 1 month later?
@@Jm3rvDouble tap, plus the 2000 nits brighter screen alone is enough.
@@Jm3rv Yes, it’s so much better.
I love how there’s a evangelion Eva head plushy in the background
I don’t like the new charge sound or lack there of… I mean, its there, it’s just way less prominent
why is there no metal bracelet for the ultra 2? and the series 9 costs 1149 Euro with metal strap
To find my devices I’m down for the series 9 watch😁
I still have the AW3…👀
Thanks dude! I’ve already decided which Apple watch I would get.
I am looking to replace a Garmin watch. (Venu SQ)
It is struggling with things like connection after 2 years of use and I have a iPhone.
And looking at longer term durability, would a 9 last much longer than a SE 2023 or would it just be the same?
is there any update on SE or its the same as SE2
Theres a upgraded s8 chip instead of a s5 chip
I’m upgrading to the new s9
I have the s5 and after 4 years the battery is drained and the heart rate sensor is soooo slow. Also it always stops picking up my activity during workouts. The won’t even work when I’m swimming anymore. So excited for it to come on Friday, I’m gonna go to the pool to test it!
Also, I’m a pink lover so that’s a huge bonus
I wanna buy my first Apple Watch what do u recommend SE or the series 9?
Greetings
No watch yet. I want the SE and wait for the 10.
Will the display stay on if I have timer running on the Apple Watch SE 2023 model?
Bought the SE2 last year at the Apple Store..A point of note, folks. I can wear the 40 mm but wanted to have the Milanese Bracelet with it. Turns out that whilst I have small wrists, I have large hands and could not get my hand through the bracelet. Bought the 44mm with the Milanese Bracelet and I am very happy as I averted the crisis of buying on line.
Is the 40mm too small? I like smaller watches but does it have any viewing issues? Or battery?
@@nyseldias hello. The 40 mm looked ok on my wrist using a conventional strap. The viewing was fine as I tried on a friend’s Apple Watch 7 for size. With the Milanese bracelet, I could not get my hand through.
Ive had the se/my first apple watch since mid 2022 my Maximum battery capacity is 89% and I’m watching this video because i might upgrade soon
Still rocking my series 6 and I don’t see the need to upgrade until the battery life tanks..
Does anyone know the difference between the dictation on the SE and the 9? I think for my job that would be my main concern. TIA
Should i get apple watch 8 for first time?
I just got the 8 and I am happy with it.
I’m upgrading my Apple Watch series 4 to Apple Watch ultra 3
very well explained. not just like other channels just reading off ads or apple spec sheets. thank you.
Great video! For me, personally, I am looking specifically for some of the health apps including blood oxygen an ECG, so it looks like the series 9 is the way to go. I did have a series 3 in the past so I’m sure the 9 will feel like quite an upgrade
Thanks very much really enjoyed your informative and impartial opinions and review
for normal ppl who doesnt have cardiac problems it dont be worth it
@@shooppiChan Agree. I've had various devices with similar functions and outside of being a neat novelty to look at when I first get them, I basically never touch those features again.
@@shooppiChan So, we take it you are a “normal” person?
