I don’t miss always on display (never used it save battery) so far I’m really impressed with the SE. For day to day use it’s just as good as the 7 which I rocked for two years and three months. Was looking a bit worn and tired.

SE is the perfect value/quality watch AW. Two days battery life with two hours of GPS training outside. Always on display isn't a big thing, neither the size of the display or ECG. I think fast charging is the shttest thing that apple cut from SE watch.
I had a S6 Apple Watch and 'upgraded' to the SE Apple Watch last week. I mostly used my watch as a fitness tracker and it made more sense to save money.

I don't have an Apple watch, am very happy with my Citizen solar watch with battery life of about 15 years.. 😉 But I do have the SE iPhone which is good value for money. We are retired now so if I were to get an Apple watch I'd go for the series 9 as the ECG and oximeter functions will become important..
I use series 7. I have been waiting for longer battery for years now. At least 24 hours or more. I would love to try Ultra but it seems too big for my small wrist. Do you think next year we may get longer battery life in regular Apple Watch ??
I don't understand why Apple watches have such short battery lives. Other brands go for weeks, some for months.. Battery tech has made such progress in the past couple of years, surely this should show in the watches now?
I still have series 3. And I still think I will stick with them for probably next year or two. Those new watches are amazing but there is still no "big reason" for me to upgrade. If they would gave me at least a two-three day battery?! I would upgrade immediately.
I think I am going to go with the SE cellular as my first watch. Looking forward to going on runs with Spotify & my AirPods, while leaving the iPhone at home. What size do you recommend? Love your videos, Greg!
44 for battery. I bought the small one, 40% are gone in 50 minutes of running with cellular, no music. 7 and forward have fast charge, which is nice for the days you come home with a bit lower battery health.
I just lost my Apple Watch Series 3. I’m excited to get the Series 9 since it’s been a while since I’ve had a new one. I never thought I’d depend on my Apple Watch as much as do. But I love it & can not be without one. I’m a mom & professor so the convenience of a smart watch is important for my life style. Thanks for this review. It made me feel better about my choice to go for the 9 over the other newer version.
I own a series 3 , oh yeah and it still works great. Do you recommend upgrading to 8 or 9(the price 🤔). I’m >45 years so looking for something that will run for the next 6 years. I’m mostly interested in the health tracking features and I use it to track fitness as well
I think I’d go for the 9 in that case. It gets the new chip and new features. And usually Apple supports devices at least 5 or so years so you’d be set for quite some time
I upgraded my series 4 for the SE. It's a great replacement and I use it for my runs and exercises. Somehow I not too thrilled about the battery. My series 4 lasted about 5 years and the battery health is at 80%. After a year of using the SE, the battery health is now at 91%. All the connectivity to my Nike run app is kinda slow. I'll probably use the SE for another 2 years, and wait and see what upgrades are on the watch series 12. The SE is still a great watch, based on my needs.
I just picked up the series 9 this morning, I had the series 8 already but I upgraded that from the SE and gave my mom that one and she loves it but after I used it for about two years the battery isint the best even with me adjusting settings to help. I have only had the series 8 for 7 months or so and the battery life is great so i figured I’d get the 45mm series 9 and give my mom the series 8. I ended up giving my little sister the SE so my whole Apple watch collection is still in the family and working lol

Thank you for the video!! It helped me decide. I’ve had a series 3 gps/cell for many years. I’m finally upgrading but only because I’m forced to do so due to the battery life. I’m going with the SE2 cell. I don’t need any of the other health features that the series9 has to offer. The only thing that I am “iffy” about is the plastic backing instead of glass. I may change my mind once I see it in person.
Do you think iphone 14 pro max can get find my iPhone option in an update later as apple watch series 9 won’t find the precious location for Iphone models other than 15
Still not letting that slide with Apple; they advertised the double-tap feature as a brand-new, innovative thing when it's already an existing one... The only real "update" to these watches from Series 8 and Ultra 1 is the brighter screen, battery, and S9 chip with wider broadband. Curious to see how good the S9 chip is. That's really the only seller. Is better broadband making a difference if you can interact with devices from 2-3 meters further than before, realistically for most people...? Unless people want brand new, it's probably smarter to wait until after this launch, then buy Series 8 or Ultra 1 for a lower price or refurbished.
Great video! For me, personally, I am looking specifically for some of the health apps including blood oxygen an ECG, so it looks like the series 9 is the way to go. I did have a series 3 in the past so I’m sure the 9 will feel like quite an upgrade Thanks very much really enjoyed your informative and impartial opinions and review

I have ordered the Apple Watch Series 9 without cellular! Cellular is of no use to me as ,y iPhone 14 Pro goes everywhere with me, literally everywhere!
Bought the SE2 last year at the Apple Store..A point of note, folks. I can wear the 40 mm but wanted to have the Milanese Bracelet with it. Turns out that whilst I have small wrists, I have large hands and could not get my hand through the bracelet. Bought the 44mm with the Milanese Bracelet and I am very happy as I averted the crisis of buying on line.
@@nyseldias hello. The 40 mm looked ok on my wrist using a conventional strap. The viewing was fine as I tried on a friend’s Apple Watch 7 for size. With the Milanese bracelet, I could not get my hand through.
Got mine today. 41mm is not too small. It's actually the perfect size and 45mm looks a bit gaudy and a bit too big in my opinion. If you're not 6'3" or more, and don't have much above average dimensions, go for 41mm. So much more comfortable than the 45mm too.
Exactly my thoughts. But I also understand that the aesthetic of the Ultra and the facts it’s not only bigger but also a bit more bulky isn’t everyone’s liking. But yeah personally I’d go for the ultra over the stainless steel

Great video! For me, personally, I am looking specifically for some of the health apps including blood oxygen an ECG, so it looks like the series 9 is the way to go. I did have a series 3 in the past so I’m sure the 9 will feel like quite an upgrade
Thanks very much really enjoyed your informative and impartial opinions and review
for normal ppl who doesnt have cardiac problems it dont be worth it
@@shooppiChan Agree. I've had various devices with similar functions and outside of being a neat novelty to look at when I first get them, I basically never touch those features again.
@@shooppiChan So, we take it you are a “normal” person?
So the s9 is not available in black ?
Does anyone know the difference between the dictation on the SE and the 9? I think for my job that would be my main concern. TIA
i currently have a farmin vivoactive 3 still from, what was it, 2018? Really trying to chose which watch to get right now
Will the midnight attract fingerprints like on the M2 MacBookAir?
Thanks to this video I’m a lot more happy upgrading from my Fitbit versa 2 I got January 2019 (perfect timing, right 😅) and no longer serves my lifestyle quite right to the SE!!
I'm in the same boat. Are you enjoying the se? Any regrets not getting the 9? I'm in 2 minds what to get
Upgrading from first gen SE to series 9
I’m thinking to upgrade to the 9 only because I want thinner black border
Just upgraded from a Series 2 to a Series 9. To be honest the Series 2 still worked perfectly well, but I do like the improvements in the Series 9.
How many year your apple watch now? Age
@@mjwontstop Sep 2016. 7 years. Rubbish for a watch, not bad for a piece of tech.
Damn I have a series 2 and considering the 9. Is it worth it 1 month later?
@@Jm3rvDouble tap, plus the 2000 nits brighter screen alone is enough.
@@Jm3rv Yes, it’s so much better.
My wife still uses her apple watch 3.. She is absolutely happy with it and I was hoping Apple will finally redesign the apple 9 so that I can upgrade her series 3,but unfortunately.. I think we will need to wait for the 10.. Let's see
Good one, apple watch SE is my choice. At the end of the day any product may have any number of features and what we need matters. I need a no non-sense watch which tracks my fitness(automatically, didn't like Samsung gear) and some occasional calls/messaging.
I'm between getting a series 9 or an ultra 1
which one do you recommend?
they are both going for the same price in my city
Ultra hands down if you like bigger watches
What size S9 you have you your thumbnail?
Had series 3,couldn’t survive my rugged life moved to huawei 3pro the strap and screen not strong enough now back to Ultra and loving it.
Still rocking my series 6 and I don’t see the need to upgrade until the battery life tanks..
I like the walkie talkie, I like the heart rate monitor, I like I can get in the pool with it, I like I can respond to text and calls I also like the hearing loss notification, and finally using Shazam. I believe I’ll get all that with the se
I ordered the 9 399 today .. and gater protector ... I don't normally wear watches ... I like them but work somewhat. I have never had an Apple Watch but as I am alone all the time ... I am thinking also safety. .. what if I fall and nobody is around. that said. .. I got the g[s not the plus cellular ... which latter I am assuming is for having it 's own phone line ... service. I can't afford two lines but do have an iPhone 8 ... If I am out of cellular range and camping or hiking and get injured, with the 399 with GPS only be of help if I fall or get lost? I am now 70 in good health.. thankfully. 408 pat
I will pray for your health for 100+ years ❤
@@0SIGMA thanks… It is all up to the Most High Yah … his will be done.
I have ordered the Apple Watch Series 9 without cellular! Cellular is of no use to me as ,y iPhone 14 Pro goes everywhere with me, literally everywhere!
is there a way to go back to the previous screen without using the digital crown?
Because each time I use it return to the main screen
Bought the SE2 last year at the Apple Store..A point of note, folks. I can wear the 40 mm but wanted to have the Milanese Bracelet with it. Turns out that whilst I have small wrists, I have large hands and could not get my hand through the bracelet. Bought the 44mm with the Milanese Bracelet and I am very happy as I averted the crisis of buying on line.
Is the 40mm too small? I like smaller watches but does it have any viewing issues? Or battery?
@@nyseldias hello. The 40 mm looked ok on my wrist using a conventional strap. The viewing was fine as I tried on a friend’s Apple Watch 7 for size. With the Milanese bracelet, I could not get my hand through.
I got the SE from a hock shop a year or two ago now. Still works great and I really like it
May I ask if you turn down on Watch 9 the screen brightness to 50%, will that match the Watch 8 brightness but double its battery power?
No
Got mine today. 41mm is not too small. It's actually the perfect size and 45mm looks a bit gaudy and a bit too big in my opinion. If you're not 6'3" or more, and don't have much above average dimensions, go for 41mm. So much more comfortable than the 45mm too.
I still have the AW3…👀
I mean if you are looking into stainless
steel version of the s9 you should just get the ultra 2. The price difference is non existent 😮
Exactly my thoughts. But I also understand that the aesthetic of the Ultra and the facts it’s not only bigger but also a bit more bulky isn’t everyone’s liking. But yeah personally I’d go for the ultra over the stainless steel
What’s the difference between these watches and other smart watches?
The brand.
