Bring-A-Trailer Auction: bringatrailer.com/listing/196...
Auction ends Monday, April 12 at 1:00pm
This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350H was originally used as a Hertz rental car in Virginia and is said to have been stored in 1972 by its previous owner, from whom the selling dealer acquired the car out of Colorado in January 2021. Subsequent work included refinishing and installing a replacement driver-side door, inspecting the cylinder heads, overhauling the brakes and fuel system, rebuilding the carburetor, changing the fluids, and replacing the tires. Finished in black with gold stripes over a black interior, the car is powered by a numbers-matching 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a 9″ rear axle. Additional features include fixed quarter windows, hood and side scoops, 14″ wheels, front disc brakes, lap harnesses, and an AM radio. This GT350H is now offered in Texas with its removed driver-side door, fuel pump, and front brake calipers as well as order sheets and correspondence from SAAC, an owner’s manual, and a clean Colorado title.

Dennis isn't just a car guy.. He's a historian and teacher. Love these videos.
How long THESE cars gonna last? 2166??
Totally agree with one caveat. The production is reaching reality TV levels. The more raw/guerrilla/organic stuff is my personal taste for videos. I miss the first days of RUclips.
@@pissoff234 What info was incorrect?
@@pissoff234 your momma was incorrect
@@rsprockets7846 as long as people like us keep taking care of them!
If Richard Rawlings can have a show whooping and hollering about cars then Dennis should have a show for real car enthusiast. He is a historian as well as a rev head. You rock sir. From a fan in Australia.
And the same feelings from a fan in England
He does right here.....
Why hate on Richard.. without he
There's no D

As Jay Leno says, “they’re only original once”
Glad you didn’t do a full resto, it’s perfect as is.
Not original twice ?
But it’s automatic. I would like the 4sp. Manual. Then u have a car man
Dennis is insanely knowledgeable. And whoever is taking enough time and effort to put dolly zoom shots in a baseball diamond for a RUclips video deserves a raise. Love the quality of your work and videos!!!
@@wileecoyote5749 it’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay
I was 11 years old when my stepdad rolled up one friday night in one....a cpl hrs of giving us kids and neighbors rides ..he and my mom vanished the next day while my grandma watched us...it was returned sunday afternoon and he grinned for a week
My first car was a 66 2+2 k code vintage burgundy fastback that I bought for $600. back in 1985. The only differences are I had the top loader 4-speed and rally pack. It was a mess and spent a lot to get it back in shape. The original owner special ordered it with disc breaks, traction bars and the 9 inch rear. I wish I still had it. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
I forget my own phone number sometimes and Dennis knows 30 different numbers on one car !🤣
If Dennis had this much knowledge in any other field, trains, planes, star trek, pokeman etc he'd be just some dammed geek but it's cars and I love cars so he's actually super cool
He'd be even cooler with any of that knowledge!
Cuz doctors lawyers and anyone with a graduate degree is a nerd and needs to hop on the trenboloni samiches. Lol
As a proud Aussie I feel like I am learning things like I was born here from Dennis. Outstanding mate keep making the great videos and Ill keep watching
Dennis's knowledge absolutely blows my mind! He's not just after the car, he's just as passionate about the history and back story of each find. Total fan of your videos from across the pond in the UK!.
The nicest Mustang in my book was the '65 2+2 with the HYPO 289-4 speed, in medium metallic blue paint, with white interior. A buddy had one, purchased new. I lusted after that one!
My all time favourite Mustang
I prefer what you have done rather than an over the top resto that can't be driven in fear of dirt
The 66 is my favorite. I bought my first one when I was 14 for $1,500. And I had to sell it and that was the worst day of my life. I’m a disabled veteran now and man I wish I could get another one one day hopefully before I’m gone. 🤞🏻. Love these little clips Dennis they are great keep it up. 👍🏻👍🏻
News flash that car will run at over 120 straight and smooth. Mine was a green metal flake. Color was an option on my sheet. Wife drove it as a daily driver to commissary, kids school, etc etc. she got lots of comments from other mothers. Also had a luggage rack where I put the spare when we were moving, etc. God what memories thank you.
THE KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE OF CARS IS INSANE DENNIS!.I CONSIDER MYSELF A CAR FREAK BUT ILL NEVER BE ON YOUR LEVEL!.
This is fast becoming one of my best channels.
I was 12 yrs. old in 67...a guy at our cottage had bought one of these Hertz cars.....same as this one EXCEPT it was a 4spd. This was the FIRST muscle car l had a ride in ! SO...hooked for life !!! I will NEVER forget that ride !!! Great stuff Dennis !!!😁
When you see something for the 1st time, and you get goosebumps, because you know it's so right.
Alex landed the job of a lifetime. The amount of knowledge he is able to learn from Dennis on a daily basis is unreal. I'd give almost anything for that job. So freaking cool...
I like that “Get them back into circulation where people can see them.” Never understood hoarding them for years and never enjoying them. You can enjoy them as well as take care of them
I was in the stands at Fremont Drag strip for 25 years, from 1962 (8 yrs old) to when they closed the track in 1987, I was either watching or running my own cars/motorcyles and one thing is for certain, the guys were indeed renting these Hertz Shelby GT 350's and drag racing them. ..even swapping the engines to gain those extra 51 ponies for class racing.
Absolutely love seeing this! Mostly all original i would leave it the way it is! I’m a mustang fan but seeing muscle cars like this just makes me happy! Dennis knows his cars! Thanks for showing this Shelby!!
The excitement in your voice as you go over the details is very cool. All your videos are like getting a Masters Degree in collector car knowledge. Thank you sir.
Really cool, keep it like it is, restored cars will never be the same again.
Dennis! Please don't ever sell this Hertz G.T. 350. I am 60 years old. Carroll Shelby is my American Hero. The man did more in his life time than most 2 people have. In 2007 I rented a Hertz Shelby Mustang Convertible. It was one of my Highlites to this day. I wanted to experience what it was like in 1966. Yes, It costed a lot of money but was worth ever penny. My next thing I would like to do is either ride in a 1966 G.T. Hertz Shelby Mustang or drive one! I came across your video. Yes,I Subscribe. I learned alot about this Mustang. So it adds to what I already know. To bad I was 6 years old then. This Mustang holds a dear place in my heart. Thanks, Again Dennis. Still keeping my dream alive. Shawn.
Oh wow, finally a video of a car actually running on the road! Great work you guys!
Dennis is a great teacher. He knows his stuff and likes to share his knowledge.... it really shows.
What a great way to start my Spring weekend! It’s like getting to hang out with Dennis in the coolest shop!
Incredible find Dennis thanks for keeping a piece of history all original
Nice to see original radio. Still have mine. Bought a 1966 stang new in April 1966 Still have and drive my GT Fastback.
Thanks Dennis for helping us with shelby mustangs. These are important history and need to be preserved!
Beautiful car! Dennis really knows his stuff. Thanks for sharing this with us. 🇺🇸🚜👍
The wealth of constant info from Dennis is invaluable! Thank you!
As a kid, that was my dream car, I loved the black & gold, in the 80’s I worked at a Ford dealership, one of the salesmen had one. I knew another guy that bought what he thought was a black one, turned out to be a green & gold one. Awesome cars!
I have been a Mustang Fan my Entire 52 years and this Car is my Favorite car in the Entire World ❤️❤️❤️Thanks for Sharing Dennis👊🏻👊🏻
This car would be great to bring to the Shelby Spring Fling in Nashville, IN May 21-22. The GT350H is the feature car. My dad has had his over 45 years! Thank you. I enjoy all your videos, it was great to watch video that I know everything you’re saying. Dennis, you’re invited with or without the car. Whoever buys the car, you’re invited too!
Another great video by Dennis and the A Team...
Love love love love love! Beautiful piece, great job Dennis and Alex on this
I love seeing the way he preserves the cars he finds. Love video. Great car!
I have never been a motor head. But even I know what a classic this is. Absolutely the most beautiful vehicle ever made in America!
Dennis is so knowledgeable... I love learning the small details from him
Fantastic story the key word: Matching Numbers! Keep up the good work Dennis!
I appreciate what you do so much Dennis. Truly a professional in your craft. 👍🏻
I’m really impressed by his knowledge and how he put on a date correct door using all the internals from the original. Just going that extra step. Now, I can see the gas tank being replaced. Great job!!!
My dad told me stories of him drag racing against these cars at the Fremont drag strip in CA. He had a 61 SS Impala with the 350hp tri power engine. He rigged the linkage so that all the carbs would open at the same time. The mustangs got him off the line, but he took them at the end..... most of the time. LOL
It's still amazing that there still genuine finds still out there! As always Dennis your a true wealth of knowledge
I absolutely love this car and would leave it like it is. Dennis' knowledge about different makes and models of vehicles is impressive.
Absolutely love these videos. When the world's going to crap...videos like this keep you going! BIG THANKS from the UK
I detailed one of these many years ago, cool to see another

Love the Channel ❤️ Thanks.
Another great history lesson in muscle car’s. Thanks buddy.
Super cool! Leave it as is for sure. Thanks Dennis for saving our car history.
The passion and knowledge is outstanding. That car found the right home.
Hey Dennis. I worked for Hertz Rent A Car Tampa FL back in the 70’s until 1984. I know the shop manager who started with Hertz back in the 60’s. He told me a story of how for the 1966 rental season Hertz in Tampa FL had received a handful of these cars for rental. As it turns out a few of them were rented and driven an hour and a half away to Sebring where they were raced at Sebring of course. If your car has records of having been at the Hertz location at Tampa Airport there is a very good possibility that it raced at Sebring that year. By the way the shop at Tampa had to replace the tires and brakes on those cars. The shop manager (mechanic at the time) still got worked up (angry) relaying that story.
I love it , I grew up in a family who raced ford's. My dad did a pinto grand national champ with 460. My uncle had the 70 Mach 1 with the 460 and 429 heads . They were living fast and large . Watching the videos takes me back to working in the garage with all my heroes. Thank you, Dennis.
1970 429-460 heads were both DOVE heads No '70 Mustang Mach I came with a 429 or a 460 engine.
@@sergeantmasson3669 bodies only . The cars were for track only . The motor might have come out of torino race and refreshed . The pinto is in hot rod magazine called silver bullet. New motor set up and owner . Just memories now
Thanks Dennis, you hit another home run!
To quote you “outstanding video.” You are the best.
Really love this car. thanks for taking the time Dennis to show everyone where to look to make sure its numbers matching. I did the same for my Raptor and several Shelby's
Dennis, thanks for sharing the car and your knowledge. You just know when you are watching a proper enthusiast.
Dennis finds all the holy grail cars .... thanks for sharing sir love all the knowledge and history in these videos keep them coming
This man is absolutely historical gold mine.
I love how much knowledge you share Dennis, thanks for that, alot of the old guys i knew growing up were definitely not as willing to share, and I understand why knowledge was not near as easy to get back then you know before the days of www, thanks again for sharing
Dennis A man of pure passion

Very very lucky to be able to do what you are doing and the young man with you also a very lucky person!!!! Congratulations brother all the luck and good fortune to you and your crew!!!!
I live in Virginia Beach and I’m really surprised with how it looks because almost every classic I see has some sort of rust no matter what
love the history on this car. I seen some of these cars at the drag strip with my dad.
That is one hell of a find thank you for sharing with us
That Shelby must be one of the best daily drivers you can have. If only.
