I have no idea why this story would come to my page, being a women who isn’t in to cars, although my husband is an auto painter, neither of us care for it as a hobby. That was so much fun to watch, the history and knowledge of it all. The man who assessed it really knows his stuff! The men who sold it were so nice and I wish you all the luck with your dream car! Nebraska!! I was recently handed down a 68 mustang that was won on a $1 raffle in 1968. These videos fuel my desire to get it restored. It's gotten me into classic cars more than I could have imagined. Nice barn find!

@@thewriter2549 It's a Red 68 Mustang Coupe with a 289 2v & 3 speed manual and a radio delete plate. I've been told they raffled off 2-3 cars and this was the cheaper raffle car. My wife's grandpa got the call that he won, left home to go pick it up. They were so excited to get it home they ended up dropping it off the trailer and bent the rear bumper, the dent is still there.

Not too many people ever even get to ride in a Shelby and i cruised around in one every summer until about 1997. He finally sold his mint candy red 68 Shelby and at the time $35k was a lot, but Gone in 60 seconds come out not long after and the prices of them went thru the roof because of Eleanor. Plus it was originally a 1 of 6 Raven black w/ black luxury seats car, so it would be so valuable today, it always drove perfectly.

Thanks, kind of feels that way and to think it was still there after all those years. I am still stunned so much that when I see the car in Jason's shop I can hardly believe it is mine. I do need a 428 Police Interceptor engine and a set of those dual fours and the oval air cleaner assembly.

Congrats Jerry! I realize it will likely be a long drawn out process to find all the parts, and build her to spec, but please document the build for us devoted fans. On second thought, you're well know in the circle so have a lot of connections, and this build may not take as long as it otherwise would, lets hope that's the case for you Jerry! 😁😎🎄🎅👍✌

I had a 64&1/2 - 65 289 with 2 4 barrels & 4 speed FastBack (Black/White interior) with the round Enameled Cobra Snake in each Front Fender. I owned it From Sept '68 to 1978-9. Sold it to a 15 year old boy who wanted to restore it, For $100. 2 years ago I stopped where I had Delivered the Mustang, but the People didn't live there anymore. The gentleman that now owned the house in Sussex WI. mentioned he had Bought it 7 years ago and when he first looked at the house he remembered seeing an Old Black Mustang in a Lean To next to the Garage. Didn't pay any attention if it was restored or not.

As a young man, I owned a 1976 Chevrolet NOVA SS with a small block 400... It was white with red racing stripes and red interior... I miss that car and I regret selling it...
I had 3 jobs to buy it and rebuild the engine, transmission and rear end...
Lost a couple of girlfriends because I spent more time and money on the car rather than on the ladies...!!!!
I love these old cars... My dad bought a Ford Fairlane for $400 in the late 70's , wrecked it and sold it for $400.. that Ford Fairlane was supposed to be my car when I got my driver's license...
    Unfortunately I never got it...
I remember it looked similar to a Mach 1 and that's why I loved that Ford Fairlane...
