Hey guys, sorry for the audio on this one. I did not expect to be shooting video so it’s iPhone audio and it was very windy. We used a wind filter to tune it up, so it’s kind of odd. It won’t always be this way.
I would love to see more of these, I would especially love if Steve Magnante was ever able to join on one of these (providing his health allows it). Freiburger and Magnante strolling through an old junkyard pointing at old cars and excitedly sharing facts about them would be some enjoyable content!
I think Steve had Hanta virus myself actually. It's caused by exposure to mouse shit, piss, saliva. He was always breathing bad air, no mask digging around in old glove boxes touching old mouse pisssy papers to read them. It causes brain to swell, encephalopathy and is usually is fatal. That's just what I think, they are always warning farmers here to be careful and wear a Hanta certified mask, and gloves. them@McQueen67
We had a '68 Vista Cruiser with the windows in the roof and along the edges - my folks used to get us McDonalds burgers and fries and then park near the runway at O'Hare so we could watch planes take off and land - great childhood memories, those.
I eat this up! Love the strolls through old junkyards like this. Growing up in the 50s and 60s I could tell you almost every model and year after the 80s it became much harder to discern, and now it's almost impossible to do. But those earlier years were the best. Thanks for this one, and reading many of the comments, I agree, you and Magnante would make great pair - just imagine the back and forth conversations about the vehicles! What a wealth of knowledge you have, bro.
Neat tour of the old cars. I'm a retired auto mechanic and remember a lot of the cars you talked about. Growing up my mom and dad had a 1965 oldsmobile vista cruiser and we use to go on trips everywhere.
After you went to the junkyard in Wyoming, my buddy and I drove down from Montana and checked it out. We got to see the cardboard that you wrote the list of what needs done to the car. We also saw your signatures. The old man gave us a personal tour. Epic day!
Hi David, Thanks for this junkyard video. They are becoming few and far between here in Connecticut. You showed what I believe to be a 1956 Chevrolet Panel truck. That brought back many memories of the one my Dad owned back in the 1960's. It was his original Service Truck first at his Gulf Service Station in Ashford Ct. and later at his Texaco Station in Andover, Ct.. This was the vehicle I learned to drive on at the ripe old age of 8 years old. It sometimes sat for 6 months at a time ( My Dad bought a 1966 Jeep J - 2000 Gladiator pickup in December of 1965 as his new shop truck ) and I would dump 5 gallons of gas in it and put in a fresh battery pull the hand choke and hit that floor starter button and it always fired right up. I was so short then I could not see over the steering wheel. Sadly the old Panel truck went for scrap many years ago but I still have the Jeep and it is still my winter plow truck !
Nothing brings back memories like a stroll thru a junkyard like that one. As kids, we would spend half the day in the local yard, finding parts for our rides. They dont let ya do that anymore.
You have to do a junkyard walkthrough with Steve Magnante, The two of you together would be an impressive sight showing all the interesting facts that most others wouldn't even know. Document it for another generation to see!
Keep the junkyard videos coming! I will always cherish the time I spent searching for the exact parts that I needed when I was a poor high school kid. Great memories!
Such a cool junk yard. And like walking around it with a good friend. Thanks for doing all the videos and I know we all look forward to them. Flip Flop Army!!
Great content…at least for us old timers. Keep it up. Super happy to see you free of corporate constraints and doing what you love, showing us what we love.
In the late 70's, us guys who had Chevy vans wanted to use the roof section of the Vista Cruisers to add a rear "sun roof" to our vans! I had two friends who had done it to their Chevy vans, but I was too poor to do it to my windowless Chevy cargo van. 😢
I love the quirky stuff you can find in yards like that, Opels, Checkers, AMCs, it's rare to see them at shows or on the road anymore, they're wicked cool
Any Freiburger video is a good Freiburger video! Love the junkyard exploration stuff. We'd spend hours digging through old stuff in junkyards. You could find some crazy stuff under seats, and hidden behind dashes in some old cars/trucks. I miss the late 80's!
Thanks for the post DF. Love ‘em all. If these cars could speaks, the stories they’d tell. You should get the crew back together and do a junkyard rescue.
Everyone of these relics from a Golden Age was once someone's pride and joy. Now many are too far gone for even parts cars. Rust In Peace Classic American Iron. Huge condolences for the pain and suffering in L.A. The loss is heartbreaking. My deepest wish for you is a week of rain.
Hey Dave, I think most of us don't mind longer video format, especially when it comes to junkyard walk throughs!!! Video could easily be 30+ mins imo. Great content none the less!
I spent my childhood riding around in a 1971 Opel Kadett with my Dad. We had it until 1985 and it never let us down, it lived on until around 1990 before the engine blew towing a small truck back to the garage.
Awesome Salvage yard.. This has taken me back to when I was a kid going through old Salvage yards. Thinking about all of the possibilities how I could fix this up or that car up. Seeing all the great potential. Thanks for sharing David. 👍🇺🇸👍
I live in Twin Falls. I’m an Idaho native. This place is always fun to drive by. I remember when it changed owners and everybody treated it like a landmark. Great video!
Pretty brave walking around that junkyard in flip flops. However, my dad used to take me to a local junkyard back in the day and the owner was always walking around barefoot....now that's brave.....or nuts. 🤣 That's another reason I enjoy these types of videos...they bring back good memories of my youth.
Wow! Great show and I learned a lot. I thought I knew all to know about Scouts growing up with them. I didnt know they had 2 slant fours! My dad still has his 1977 with the 196ci that he bought new here is Flagstaff at Aspen Motors! I was with him that day! Thanks Dave 👍

My great grandmother had one of those riviera. She died in 1981 but my great grandfather kept till the mid 90s, he drove it on trips to visit us often. Wish I had that car now. It was a pale green metallic with green velour. I remember riding in the backseat as a little kid.

Great video Dave! Love me some junkyard crawls! Dude, but flip-flops in a junkyard, in Idaho? I guess they don't have any of them sneaky-snakes out there?
That has got to be the MOST EPIC junkyard still in existence. I hope they keep it just as it is and don't "sell out" by "downsizing" as many junkyards have. Remember, people, the one commodity that they will never, ever make more of is land. It's priceless; don't sell it.
Love you point out alot of the not so common cars ive always liked the odd balls and hopefully maybe some one sees one and gets it to revive showcasing them will hopefully give alot cars setting around new live keep up great work and have wonderful day.
Is it just me, or do all our favorite Roadkill bro's seem.....Happier? There's just a little something I can't put my finger on in their vids. I hope its true! Great vid, I personally dig shorter ones a bit more, but they're all good!
I live a couple hours from there and spent several hours walking around in that yard last fall. Bring a lunch and a bunch of water, it's going to take a while to get around! Thanks for the video, Dave!
Hey Dave, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that seems to struggle with microphone and audio issues during my videos lol I appreciate you keeping your spirits and being yourself. If it wasn’t for guys like you none of us would probably be doing what we do today on RUclipsthank you for your time your effort and your love we love you, brother.
I was so lucky when I was a kid. My 2 best friends (twins). Lived in a 10 acre junkyard. Plus they owned (still do) half of an old ghost town in central Oregon. (Shanniko) That has buildings with old cars. Anywhere from 1906 to 1965. Or so. And we would take trips with their pops down there. So awesome!🤗🇺🇲👌
I come by here all the time for work. I have stopped a five times and walked through and still haven’t seen it all. It is crazy to see all this stuff on camera that you have seen in person

Still better than watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. No worries, Freiburger!
Killer vid none the less!
