  • We don't come across Mustangs too often, and this one is cool. It has been sitting a long time, and the shelter it was in has fallen on it. Can we revive this pony?

That kid is very lucky to have a true southern gentleman ( Richard ) as a teacher. And a lot of projects all around. Hardest thing might be to find a woman like Christina. 🙂

Very nice video. I remember my '66 mustang. It was uh Ca car all original with Ca emissions. It was a 289 and had the smog pump with air manifold check valves, diverter valve. I kept it all original. I miss that car.

I had a dark blue 1965 Mustang hardtop in high school with a 289 V-8 and C-4 automatic transmission and it ran well. Wasn't show quality but driver quality. Anyway, cheers to you and have a great day! 😀👍🛠️

64.5 to 66 mustangs never had front disc brakes from the factory. They were single reservoir all 4 drum brakes. I put 67 mustang ( kelsey hayes 4 piston ) disc brakes on my 66 mutt. You needed to change to a dual reservoir drum / disc master and put a proportioning valve inline to balance the brake pressure front to rear. I also added the power brake booster because it was really hard to apply brakes without the power assist. It is a bolt on changeover.

I'm not a huge Mustang fans since i prefer the more rare ophan cars myself. But one thing that i've noticed since watching these videos is how Richard really likes to prepare his area before he starts to work. It shows that he wants to give himself the proper space he needs to work comfortably and without clutter. I'm the same way. I would do as he and go through the car, clean away anything unecessary before i jump into the revival. Great video as always.

You say you don't work on Mustangs much. I've restored them for 40+ years. The size of the radiator was determined by the cubic inces of the motor, and, by what accessories the engine had. That there is a 19w x 19.5t. If it had a.c., it would have had a 20w x 19.5t. Anything bigger than a 351, would have a 24w x 19.5t.

the interior looks great (aside the missing roofliner, of course), I hope it won't fall apart now that the sun can bake it crispy...I once had a german Ford from the 70's, everythign was worn to the bones except the seats. but then I made the mistake and remove the seat covers, and 4 weeks later the light tan vinyl turned brown and crumbled away... :0
