I like your site because, not only do you make a nice couple, but it's not filled with nonsense or obnoxious music. Unlike so many others, it's dignified and pleasant to watch.
Thank you for your kind comment. We appreciate you watching and supporting our channel.
I'm impressed basic car repairs not an LS swap your Wife is a team player and learning with you! Outstanding.Shotimeallovertheplace
Hi Richard and Christine, your car is coming along well, can't wait to see it drive and run.
Thanks Terry. We should be driving this very soon.
Good use of a cat treat tub I love it, my cats noticed this before I did
another good and fun job Cristine and Richard!!!!
Nice to see you both making progress with Lula. Christina has some great Christmas presents. She is very good on the tools, you're a great team.
Thank you we appreciate it! I racked up on those gifts for sure!
Nice job on the gas tank removal Christina!!!!!! We enjoy watching you 😎😁
Awesome work! Soon Lula will be back on the road again! 😎 I've seen mechanics take the wheel bearings and literally push them into the grease and pull them back out. 😅😅 It seems to be pretty effective, but funny nevertheless. Great job, Richard and Christina!! Thank you for sharing!! Keep up the great work!!
Lula getting her up grades I love it. Glad you decided to replace that tank. It needed to be. The Sir Shocks are a plus for the car. Richard has got you wrenching on this old Iron. Loved it Christina. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Terry! It was a lot of fun! I've been begging for 4 months to install the exhaust system 🙂 Kind of like a small child. If they ask 1000 times adults normally say yes so they don't have to hear them keep asking 🤣
Christina, you are a natural at this stuff! Love watching the two of you helping each other! Waiting to see Lula driving down the road when done!
Thanks Robert! So are we, very close.
It's the simple things in life that bring a smile. Like starting the car, and then shutting it off. It works like it should.
So true.
It is truly a great video of both of you getting a lot of things done on Lula. Some great quality of life work done on the car. Way to get in there, Christina. The interior still looks incredible 😍. Have a glorious day, both of you.
Thank you my friends. Good to hear from you!
Hi. Richard keep warm you and Christina and keep safe.
Good Job to Both of you, Christina I was laughing when you said Ohh I'm going to break a Nail 😅
Hi Richard & Christina. Hello from stormy Scotland.
That was an excellent video, and you guys achieved a lot. Special praise to Christina for getting underneath the car to remove the old gas tank. I can certainly think of more pleasant ways to spend an afternoon. Also changing a wheel , and lifting the replacement onto the studs is a heavy process, so take a bow Christina, that was brave of you to try it, and I hope you are enjoying the whole process of getting Lula roadworthy.
I’m sure driving the car will give you greater pleasure and self satisfaction, given all the hours and effort you have both put into it.
Take care,
John
Hello John,
Thank you for your kind words. It's hard to believe 15 months have passed since Lula first arrived. We're fortunate in that fate intervened, if only for a few months, and forced us to slow down, re-evaluate and spend more time at home. Big changes coming soon! Stay tuned 😉
As always...thanks for watching.
I can tell that this was recorded before the snow hit the hills. East TN got nine or more inches on Wednesday. Good work!
Over 3 months time. We did the trunk floor on Christmas Eve😆 Appreciate you watching.
Christine, hour excitement about learning about fixing up these vehicles is so infectious. I love to see the thrill you get while fixing these. I also love to see you correct Richard or throw out ideas and give Richard pointers. I have been watching for about a year or so and have gone back and watched all your old videos and your transformation in knowledge is awesome. Keep it up. ps, Richard is pretty great too. ;-)
Ahh... thanks Ken! You know next week I'll be recording our 50th Will it Run. Something was bound to sink in eventually 😆 Thanks for watching we appreciate it 🙏
Good job.
Lula looks good and sounds amazing. And those rims just look right at home on her.. Can't wait for the next video!
Some big items off the list, nice work
Great job Christina giving Richard a break nice team work ,keep it up guys 🇺🇸👍
Thanks very much Martin. More on the way!
Your a lucky man my wife would never pull a gas tank
Rust never sleeps😃😃😃😃😃
Richard you are so lucky to have a woman that will climb under a beat up old car and pull a gas tank out from under it. Actually my wife is pretty good about doing whatever I ask her to help me with as far as working on our vehicles so we're both lucky guys. I love your videos and you guys are awesome.
Thanks very much. True, we are both lucky.
Good job on that old girl. She'll be back on the road soon enough!
Right on!
I watch about 5 shows like your's I saw a interesting one where he strapped a gas tank to a jacked up tractor filled it with gravel and spun it clean
That is an interesting way to clean a tank. I imagine it would work well! Thanks for the tip.
Very cool project....
Your becoming a A - one mechanic Christina as long as you don't break a nail!
Thanks Roy! I'm trying any chance I get. Luckily, I inherited my grandma's rock hard nails. They're almost tools of their own🤣🤣 Seriously they are! Appreciate you watching and your kind words.
Hi Richard & Christina, awesome video as always. Can’t wait to see it on the road. Greetings from Jerome & family in California.
You guys are awesome..I just purchased a 1949 Chevy delax.. really excited to start working on the car.. appreciate everything you guys do..
Awesome great job to you both
I appreciate that you are real people, not professionals, but very knowledgeable. That you demonstrate practical knowledge that makes me feel more confident and hopeful for completing my own 1952 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe Coupe project.(which is extensive and with Murphy's law always popping up) By the way I appreciate your name of Lulu for your car. My car is named Marion. I felt that she needed a name as a member of our family. Jerry R
Thanks for the nice comment, Jerry. Good luck with Marion. We should have a different 52 in a future video, and we have a 49 Fleetline coming soon.
christine great job on the gas tank and brakes, and youve got a great instructor in richard, cant wait to see more 52 chevy videos
I do have a great instructor! Thanks for watching much appreciated.
Good.job Nice chevy cool show 👍👍👍👏👏👏😍
Thank you so much Frano! We appreciate your kindness 🙏 ❤️
Good job, guys, Lulu is looking good.
Thanks David! Lots more work to do! By the way, do you have a pic of your dad's chevy? You mentioned it before. I'd love to see it if you do.
You guys are wonderful and we love your shod ..
Great job Christina and Richard on the trunk floor, gas tank, wheel bearing and Ign. switch!!! Hope you get Lula out on the road soon!!!
Thanks Vincent. We are nearly road-ready. Next up is the glass!
Good work you Two!
Richard she is a keeper Lol
Levity, instruction, and cool cars. What's not to like
That's a wonderfully kind, yet accurate comment. Thanks so much for watching! We appreciate you 🙏
I like what you doing with the old Chevy and Christina that model of the engine is awesome I got one of those when I was 10 years old I didn't know they still had them have fun putting it together
A lot of people have commented they had one. Thanks for watching we appreciate it 🙏
Great. Job Richard and Christina, Christina you should give the viewers a better glimpse of your nails so we can see how long and beautiful they are!! My wife had very long nails back in the day helping me on our cars and people would look in amazement at the length of her nails lol
Hey Christina nice 1952 Chevy!! Keep the videos coming I watch all your videos what the rust
Thank you so much!
You guys are awesome, I love when you save all those vehicles from the crusher,❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
Thank you, Jim. More saves coming!
Another great video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Self-tappers a body crew's best friend 🧡 😊
How cool. The Revell visible V8 engine model! Did not know they still made them. I built one of those back in 1970 something. Nice progress on Lula too! Forget the heater. Get a Vintage Air Heat-AC kit coming if Christina is going to be daily driving that car. Always fun watching the two of you.
Hey Gary. If his car holds together, an AC kit will be a possibility. I installed a Vintage Air kit in a 64 Impala a few years back, and it was a ton of work. This car would be much easier.
Great job Christina, between you should have it done in no time , thanks for sharing !
Glad you liked it Steve. More coming!
Another great video guys the car is coming right along I always enjoy the videos that you make thanks Christina and Richard
Thank you very much, Dale. Your feedback is always appreciated.
Great job on this one, you two! Nice video! Take care and have fun! Cheers!😁👍🛠️
Thank you Billy.
Great job Both of you. I watched your Alternator to Richard and has always I liked and shared. All my very best.
Thank you for the continued support!
Great video y’all thank you I hope y’all fared well throughout our middle Tennessee blizzard we had last week it was interesting I’ve lived here all my life and don’t think I’ve ever seen that much snow at one time
Thank you! So true about the snow! Craziness!
That is one Beatiful car!!! Fantastic video from the Dynamic Duo! Love you guys!!
Thank you for the nice comment! This car has come a long way.
Wow Richard, you lucky man. Great looking wife that likes to work on cars, winner!
good job with the car
Great Job Mates
Thank you Brett. Almost finished with this car.
Great vid!!!! 👍👍
Thanks!
Stellar job... great video.
Much appreciated!
That tank is toast! You can buy tanks pretty cheap anymore and its good to replace them and the fuel lines. You're doing it exactly right!
Great video!!
What a beautiful old car. You guys are doing a great job!
Thanks Danny!
enjoyed watching this video. it is cool you got it running and restored some of the black paint. it is pleasant to watch you guys without much nonsense. lol 😀
Much appreciated, Jon. This 52 is turning out to be a cool car.
Chip your nail? As a guy, I have to cut my nails right down down to the pink. When I worked on cars, my finger nails always ripped and tore, so seeing a lady work on a car with finger nails gets me nervous! Good luck and keep turning those wrenches Christina!!
Thanks!
Thank you Terry! You paid for many of the parts we used. We're very grateful 🙏
I've seen a funny trunk repair with good metal . Also leaving most of the trunk floor in it . Richard what was you thing ?? Should have been all new floor in the trunk . Poor man fix on the 52 Chevy
Hi guys good to see you back hope your heart is well now
Thanks for asking. I am back to 100%. In some ways, better than 100%.
good to hear bro stay well healthy and blessed@@whattherust
Love your videos
Thank you. We have some good ones coming soon.

Thank you! You are always supportive of our channel ❤️
@@christinarust6957 welcome Christina :) and Richard :)
I had to go through this cleaning the gas tank on my old bmw. 87 535is
so Lula gets completed bit by bit. :) Watching Christina is exciting, because she's excited, too.
He wouldn't let me win😆 We appreciate you watching and sharing. Take care .
fun fun fun ! !
I do believe it's time to invest in a outside car lifts for easy access to everything underneath each vehicle FYI Victor from Palmdale California
Hey Victor. We are working on that. Hopefully that problem will be solved by this summer.
Loved the video, Lula is sure coming along. Can't wait to see the glass instll video! :)
I agree Richard, those shocks look factree.
That's harbor freight because I have some tools from them and I got the same set
Молодцы вы просто супер. Для России сколько будет стоить и доставка.
Looks like she’s having more fun pulling out the gas tank than anyone else has.
So true! Thanks for watching much appreciated.
Hey what a great team you two make! Lula is coming along happy to see her make a come back. Great work Richard and Christina!!😊
Thank you, Kat. We are almost there with this car.
The Ace bandage fuel line covering is probably asbestos 😬
You know that actually crossed my mind the next day. Best we didn't unwrap that mummy. Thanks for watching we appreciate 🙏
love what u guys are doing. keep up the good work.
We appreciate your support!
❤ excellent! I’d rather watch Christina than Richard any Day. 😊
Ahh...
I had that visible V8 engine!!! It takes a while to build, take your time..COOL KIT!!
Right, it has a LOT of pieces!
Now you can rebuild a V-8 engine in your dining room
Right on!
Mr. B. Here ! 🍔🍺👀😎👍. Mrs. Rust my hat is off to you , that is nasty job to do on your back & with 71 years of 💩💩 ! On the tank ! 👍👍👍👍. Richard ! That is one tuff lady ; flowers & dinner . You need to step up on this one . Nice job guys, well done ! 👍👍👍👍
Thank you, Mr.B. I'll step up my game as best I can!
@@whattherust Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍
I was thinking, (and that could be dangerous,)could the old gas tank be cleaned and sealed professionally? I guess it depends on how bad it is. Anyway, it is a pleasure to watch you work together. You are always so nice to each other. Always look forward to seeing you back on the Tube. The old Chevy is coming out great. Many blessings to you.
Thank you for the nice comment Ronald. In the end, I am glad we got a new tank. It was expensive, but that old one was an original, and I think it would have been a regular source of trouble with contaminated gas.
@@whattherust Yes, a new gas tank would be the best idea in the long run. I have replaced 2 gas tanks in my life and saved 1 on a 41 Chrysler.
Lulu is looking better all the time, thank for another informative video
You're welcome! This car is almost ready.
52 is a stylish ride be safe
Brakes new glass
Glass is the next job inline. We are getting there slowly.
I had that V-8 model when I was a kid along with the whole chassis! The spark plugs had lights that would light up as the motor moved. I believe it was not Revell then but the molds might’ve been bought by them later. That should tell you how old I am 🤣😂
This kit makes me feel old as well.
Usually men use muscle power to remove gas tanks, Ladies use brain power!
Give me a Match, lets see what’s in the tank 😵💫😳😬💕
I used to do sun roofs most people are not aware that the short air chisel is very hard to control the longer ones are like power steering in compartment
I find that most of the time on these old Chevys a new tank and sending unit isn’t much more expensive than cleaning and sealing the old tank.
Right, from a cost perspective, it made sense to go with the new tank. The old one would have given us trouble for sure.
you have more patience then i have we been married 50 years and if i had my wife help work on the car like this we probably be in divorce court aka nothing like helping someone work on a car and holding the light but loved the video
They’ve probably only been married a few years…to each
other
Nice work - good to see you wrenching as a team. Hint: Handy-dandy Shock Remover Tool = Vice Grips on the shaft, below the nut - or a Nut Splitter. For the air shocks, Warshawsky used to sell an under-hood vacuum compressor that had an under-dash control for raise & lower. Possibly someone either makes it now or may have one hanging around. Lot better than the remote Schrader valve.
I remember those remote air shock controllers from the 80s. I had not thought about those in decades!
55 Chevy used a ballast resistor also when they went to 12 volt
I did not know that. Thanks for the tip.
Neutral check before starting......
Hi yall from west Alabama hugsss
Hey Jamie❤
@@christinarust6957 how are y’all
@@christinarust6957 are y’all ok
Other than snowed in for a week we are great! We're headed down to Troy Alabama next week. What part are you in?
Lamar co al
That cool looking ace bandage material on the filler neck might be asbestos as a firewall.
I had not thought of that, but you may be right.
Hey you all you can flip the spring shackles over for about 2 inches of lift
I looked at doing that, but flipping them on this 52 did not look doable. It is an odd design, perhaps because of the closed driveline.
Yes it's easy all that's needed is a jack and a pry bar take the weight off the wheel at the bumper install bar and pull it to the rear longer the bar the better be sure to block it so it doesn't roll
@@chuckelliott3894 Fantastic. I have a 1951 2 door I am going to try this on. Thanks for the tip!
Hello Richard, I was kind of surprised that the heater box wasn’t located underneath the seat like they were on some of the other older cars. Were your wheel bearings like the round ball bearings instead of the tapered wheel bearings like are used nowadays? I have a old two axle trailer that a large engine drive generator type Hobart Welder was mounted on which had the spindles with the ball bearings. I had a bearing to fail and I had considerable difficulty finding new bearings in which one of the older parts stores in Lexington Kentucky still had some in stock. Luckily I only had the one set to go bad. I was quite surprised to see that the Ross steering gear for the vintage Cub Cadets use the same type of ball bearings except in a smaller version of the wheel bearings. Looks like both of you have your car progressing nicely.
