Yes, they are all, or mostly steel. Chevies are all wood with sheet metal tacked to the wood. Lighter, stronger. Mopars were all steel as well , but they only had a flathead 6.

My dad would always get mad at me when the light wasn't exactly where he needed it to be while working on things. I just wanted to be hanging out with my friends playing football, baseball, or just shooting each other with bb guns. Nowadays, they make magnetic flash lights, which would've taken the place of those times in my childhood that I hated. But if had a dad like you, who got me more interested into what he was doing, instead of just holding a flash light, I would be a better mechanic today! I remembered from the revival that the truck had a mystery electric fault that got 'solved' by moving a bunch of sketchy wires lol.

The Versailles rearend is not an actual 9" rearend. It's similar. But it has disk brakes though.

Nowadays, they make magnetic flash lights, which would've taken the place of those times in my childhood that I hated. But if had a dad like you, who got me more interested into what he was doing, instead of just holding a flash light, I would be a better mechanic today! I have a 4 year degree in electronics. I tried to get my kid interested. Math wasn't his strong suit. He's a civil engineer now. I'm a proud papa.
