Made this yesterday for our tea, delicious will definitely make it again. The only problem I had was there wasn't enough pastry in the packet I bought for the lid so cut what was left and formed a lattice top and it worked.
i have no cream on hand, so will try sybbing it for milk and arrowroot.. and might put some onion powder in too.. am hanging for some pie so hope it works out !!
@@felicitysfreshfoods313 onion powder was a good addition, usually i make it without cream , just bacon and eggs, so not sure if it was my sub or the fact i added some tomatoes in it (which i wont do again, yuk) but, i wouldnt do the milk and arrowroot sub if i had the cream.. still ok, but not as nice as the traditional method, and , cant compare it to the cream as have yet to try that way.. definitely next time will try it with cream.. so milk and arrowroot 6 out of 10.. just tasted a bit odd (prob tomatoes though, damnit) .. and i cooked the bacon too.. :)
Thanks for the question. I think it's best to stick with the pastry. If you wanted bacon and egg wraps you could cook this without the pastry then cut it up and serve it in a wrap for a breakfast burrito 🌯
Good question! I didn't cook the bacon first in this recipe as it is already smoked so it doesn't need to be cooked. But sometimes I find if you lightly fry the bacon it enhances the flavour! So you definitely could lightly fry the bacon 😁

you didnt show us how to make the pastry, the rests easy, its getting the short crust pastry right thats the hard part, better without the lid and layered with sliced tomato on the top

The fat does offer a lot of flavour so if you are happy to have the extra fat in the pie then you should leave it in 🙂
