Hello Folks!
I hope I find you all well. Tonight for tea, We had this delicious sausage and mash pie, or bangers 'n' mash pie :) Such an easy midweek family dinner idea!
If you’re a regular viewer of my channel, you’ll know how much we love our bangers & mash…so this is kind of similar :) Perfect for a midweek family dinner.
This is lovely on it’s own…or with baked beans on the side :)

What I used (serves 4)
Oil for frying
6 - 8 Thick pork sausage links (or whatever you prefer)
600ml (21 oz) Beef stock - I used OXO cubes
1 medium sized onion - sliced
1 Bay leaf
1 Teaspoon of Sage
1 Teaspoon of Thyme
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon plain (all purpose) flour
1 Tablespoon of butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1kg (35 oz) Maris Piper potatoes - or similar floury potatoes
Dash of salt
Knob of butter
Splash of milk
1/2 Tablespoon dried parsley
A handful of grated cheddar cheese for the top

leftover so I made it again today it was so good on a cold wet and windy day here in tea gardens in NSW Australia.

Seattle is having a warm spell right now! It was between 24 and 25°C and no rain. Unfortunately the temperature will dip this weekend but we're used to swings like this so we'll survive!

My grandchildren love sausage and mash, im going to try it your way, thank you fror the recipe.
You can also add Sour Cream and Chives in-to the mashed-potatoes, too. :);)
Always sour cream and a bit of parmesan.
My grandmother taught me to put dill weed in mashed potatoes.

This looks delicious. When i make mashed potatoes for a cottage or Shepherd's pie, i use sour cream rather than milk. A little parmesan cheese as well. The tatties brown beautifully.

Ninja pots, you're getting fancy! My OG Ninja Foodi is still going strong, but I do get a bit jealous when I see some of the newer air fryers in different formats with way more cooking space.
Ah well, they don't double up as a pressure cooker like my one does.
I want a foodi like yours I’ve got the ninja dual and I love it but would love the pressure cooker mode . We are never satisfied lol x

Made this today with some beef sausages which I brought back to Malaysia with me from a recent trip back home Scotland. Absolutely lovely so it was and an excellent change for our Sunday lunch. Used fresh parsley and a good squeeze of English mustard in my mash. Served with twice cooked baked beans. Would this freeze well do you know? Thanks Cheryl for sharing the recipe. Look forward to your weekly videos and always good to hear a familiar accent.

I really like this recipe! It's a subversion of traditional bangers and mash that looks amazing. I honestly thought from the thumbnail you had put the baked beans in the gravy! I hope you had a lovely tea with this and I'll see you on Saturday for the grocery unbagging!

I just about missed this one. It looks delicious. I am going to have to find a chicken or Quorn sausage to make this with. I love your mashed potatoes. I just bought 2 big cans of vegetarian baked beans. This heart and kidney failure diet is robing me of my favorite foods. I'll have a tiny bit of 1/2 a recipe though. TY for sharing. Love ya.
Add finely chopped onion fresh parsley and grated cheese to the mashed spuds before toping tte banger!

Cheryl! That looked delicious and not a combination of ingredients I'd have ever considered. You and/or your viewers need to come up with a name for this dish . I'm struggling to think of a good one at the moment. As Shepard's pie makes perfect sense (because it uses lamb mince), cottage pie makes less sense as it uses beef, and I'm struggling to make the connection between beef and a cottage.
