Summer Wind is one of my favorites. He was a favorite of my parents, and I actually did get to see him in concert later in his career, probably 1994. I am glad I had the opportunity, his voice wasn't as strong, but he still sounded great.
This is the perfect version. We have a mature artist here who knows exactly how to to 'milk' every musical and lyrical phrase, but he's still got his pipes. Sadly, vocal fry was all too frequent in the last decade he performed, and it was a distraction. At this stage he is still 100% sure that when he needs a note, it will be there for him.

This is almost biographical. Mr Sinatra did do his way most of his life.
He had incredible chops but a lifetime of smoking I feel kept him from really holding out to notes but never kept him from performing from the soul.

I'd go for performances earlier than 1970. I think the mix from studio recordings are better, but live is more exciting.

PS Have you heard of Dirty Loops, a Swedish 'Funk' trio? My best description is _High-Energy Michael Jackson pop jazz fusion._ 'Approachable', unlike some jazz. Their manager is Quincy Jones who produced and commissioned many of the songs for MJ's "Thriller" and "Bad".

Im sorry guy,s this is not the benchmark of this song. I know its Sinatra,s song, but he as no feeling to sing this classic song. If you want to hear it with feeling and the way it is sung to its best listen to Matt Monroe sing it, A Britt sings it better
