What makes this song so powerful is that you can hear it in his voice that he walked this walk. Despite it being written for him he made it his own through his lived experiences.

So, there's a video of his last concert, when he was an old man, and this song will make your allergies act up, for sure. The whole room was full of fans who'd grown up with Frank putting their emotions on wax, and the love was palpable. His hair was silver, his suit was perfect, and his eyes were just as blue as they ever were. This was his closing number, and as he got to the bridge, his voice began to crack. I promise you, Frank NEVER cracked. But he did, and the instant love and support that came from the audience for this man was indescribable. They cheered him, and encouraged him, and he finished out the song like the legend he was. It was beautiful.

According to news outlets and his family, the song "The Best Is Yet To Come" was the last song he performed. Maybe the video shows him singing My Way, and has him exiting the stage, but it was not the last song he sang.

Frank Sinatra was Jon Bon Jovi's great uncle. In "It's My Life", Jon Bon Jovi sings the line, "My heart is like an open highway; like Frankie said, 'I did it My Way'" Frank's family called him Frankie. Jon Bon Jovi was inspired to pursue music due to his admiration of his Uncle Frankie.

This song always reminds me of my favorite teacher who died weeks into my senior year of high school. My dad had an old 60's songbook and I learned it on piano and imagined myself singing it at his funeral, though it didn't happen. RIP Raymond Dornier!

Every man and woman should hear this song, or any other song with this message. Especially today when so many run to an authoritarian figure to resolve even the smallest issues. Freedom has a price, and that price is that you do things your way, or give it your best at the minimum.

The problem with Elvis and I love Elvis and he no doubt ushered in something completely and entirely new in the 1950s - but unlike Sinatra, Elvis quickly stopped doing things his way. His life was under complete control by Col. Tom Parker. Elvis never left the US to tour overseas because Col. Tom Parker was afraid to fly and was in trouble with various authorities. Elvis was completely controlled by the Memphis mafia and Tom Parker. Sinatra had true power in the entertainment industry - was the sole reason Kennedy won the White House because of Sinatra’s mafia connections in Illinois. Was one of the first entertainers to put Vegas on the map long before Elvis got there. Sinatra truly did his way - way more than Elvis. All due respect to him. Elvis is one of the most influential entertainers that ever lived.

yes a French song and the song My Way is the English adaptation of the song As usual, composed by Jacques Revaux, Claude François and Gilles Thibaut, and originally performed, in 1967, by Claude François [1]. Adapted by Paul Anka, this version was popularized by Frank Sinatra's interpretation from 1969.

It's awesome to see reactions to older stuff like this. It helps introduce young people to something better than all that mumble autotune nonsense.
Even though it came out in the 60s, it really has that classic big band swing vibe. Apparently Sinatra hated the song, coz he was worried people would see him as grandiose.

Just found your channel, love your reactions man. And just wanted to let you know, that quote "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees" was actually first said by George Washington. He actually said "What sets the American apart from any other person on the world, is they will die on their feet before they will live on their knees".
