    WK2 is great! Almost 600 miles driving range per tankful of gas - and very tough. Same engine and transmission as the Wrangler. This model built for 11 years - huge parts availability in the future. Great styling too.

    I just stumbled upon your channel. I am working on a 2005 WK Limited with the Hemi. I bought it used, but it had 56k original miles, and I have owned it for a little over 2 years now.
    I put the Old Man Emu 2" lift and running 265/70 R17 tires for now.
    I did pretty much the same thing you did by buying items that were a little less in price, and so far things have worked out great. My dash is configured a bit different than yours, I had an empty spot at the bottom of the dash stack, where your flip door is. I took apart the center stack and ran the wires in their, now I have my light switches there.
    I just sub'd, great work on that GC, I look forward to see more stuff.

      @GrandExploration  Год назад +1

      Thanks!!! Yea I’ve really enjoyed watching this channel grow. The aluminum plates have held up pretty nicely especially while using them for more than what they are made for. The only issue I ran into was, I put a steel front guard on since this video and I bashed it pretty good. The steel of course held up but it caused the aluminum sump plate to bend and get pushed back. So far I just hammered it flat again but I’ll probably need to go steel for the things I’m doing now.

    Just found this page and have been loving the vids. I have a 2018 grand Cherokee and have been looking to build mine into something like this. Love the way yours looks. Did you add anything to protect the radiator when you mounted the light? Or did you just keep the lower bumper off without adding anything? I like the look of the bumper being off but was curious about that

    • @GrandExploration
      @GrandExploration  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you man. Glad you enjoy the channel. I don’t run the lightbar anymore because I added protection plates but when I did, no I just drilled straight up into the frame. Sick build! I'm planning a similar build (at least in terms of suspension and tires). I gotta couple of questions thought. First, how much pinch-welding did you have to do to fit those tires? And lastly, how is the ride quality compared to stock with that suspension lift kit? I'd love to get the extra ground clearance, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the amazing ride quality of these Grand Cherokees.
    Thanks!

    • @GrandExploration
      @GrandExploration  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you!!! With the tire size in this video 275/65 R18 I did not need to do the pinch-weld. I had zero rubbing. If you watch my updated walk around video, I have moved up to 275/70 18 which is a 33 now. For that I had to flatten the pinch-weld flush. All the way flat. And I only get a bit of rub on the passenger front plastic fender which can be fixed by adjusting my strut up a bit. The Dobinson lift is amazing but the ride quality is going to depend on the spring you choose from their site. I have the medium coil which I think is rated for an extra 400lbs. Then there is a coil spring up from that which is stiffer or there is one below mine which is more kushy and closer to the stock ride but cannot take as much weight. For me the medium spring feels great. I notice it being a bit stiffer but when you go over a bump or obstacle you can still feel it squish down. I think you will be very happy with dobinson. Just pick the spring that will best suit you.

Once you purchase the crossbars which I have as a link in the description, the kit will come with spacers that attach to your side rails. Then, there will be a bolt in the kit that is used to bolt the cross bar to the spacer. Throw the spacer away, take the bolt to the hardware store and find the same size bolt just longer. Long enough to reach through the cross bars and into the side rail holes on your Jeep. Then your done ✅

    Did you test your 275/65 R18 without the lifted suspension? Wonder if I can fit em with the stock air suspension. Dont want to lift.
    Another question regarding the ipad clip.. how stiff is it with the arm? Does the ipad wobble when you go on a trail? Does the whole console/dashboard wobble? Its some weight on it with a good lever...

      Hey thanks 🙏. When I had the 275/65 I already had a 2inch spacer but a buddy I know runs that size on his trail hawk with air suspension and he’s fine. You might want to look into the offroad animal links that don’t allow it to go into its lowest mode. As far as the pro clips. Nothing jiggles. Everything is secure off-road. I have had zero problems. You just don’t want to smack it with you hand back and forth because it can start to back out. But it has been wonderful.
