My mom is an abusive narcissist. She's been married 7 times and is 73 and alone. I was her last family and I have cut her off as well..

I think my son Jon has this disorder but not as bad as my ex had it. I see that the things he doesnt like in others are his shadows, i tell him that he needs only tell me one time and ill do it. And i just keep his boundary. But he is not the person i use to know. He is selfish. He knows im struggling and offers me little support and actually asks me to help him when he really didnt need it at the time. He doesnt do anything for me at all and i clearly see it so im just biding my time but after i move im going to have limited contact. I think he has so much shadows of failure in himself that he admires money n status and not a persons value. He is going to learn some lessons and i pray he changes cause im moving states away and plan on limiting my contact with him and my other son Jeremiah has some qualities as well of narcissism but he has empathy and humility so i think there is hope for him. He actually helped me when he needed the help the most. Im kinda upset how he was treated with the inheritance and thought he deserved 7000 instead of 5 cause hes not getting the house or anything. But he is humble and said it didnt matter to him. Jon can be humble, it is in him. I just feel like hes always loved his Dad and hes stuck in that loop now

Hi Laura. Learning to be assertive can be challenging. But practice can certainly pay off over time.

i would have expressed appreciation for your words but as someone who is overwhelmed by someone else's narcisistic personality. it is not comfortable for me to listen to someone who talks too fast and who wears a shirt that appears to be suffocating him. This video makes me wholly uncomfortable dude. You need to be higher in the frame, open a button or two and speak slowly to us... please. Those of us that are suffocating ourselves, need an openess, and airyness to allow us to breath, open up and fly...
