It ended up being the other guy that was stealing my friend's identity due to being a "offender." Needless to say he dodged a great big bullet with that one.

And when someone tried to claim they’re a marine and is asked what their MOS is, the response is usually a number. Ie, my ex’s MOS was. 0131 attached to 0311. Second marine second marine division. Or 2, 2. For short. To respond with the name is unusual in my experience.
I don't know if you're aware but, those without any social media are put in the same category as the scammers and fake people. This is what I've been repeatedly told as I'm in a long distance relationship with a woman who doesn't have any social media accounts. I personally don't like this thought process and belief since I believe having very little to no presence online is a good thing. I've personally been thinking about deleting my Fb account even though it's currently my only social media account.
