  • Tokina ATX-M 23 & 33mm F1.4 review for Fujifilm X-Mount. Video, timelapse, street photo Samples
    For this video I am excited to share my thoughts on the new Tokina 23 & 33mm F1.4 lenses for Fuji X-Mount systems. These are the first officially licensed 3rd party lenses for Fujifilm X-mount cameras and I wanted to test them out to see what kind of results you can expect to get with them and whether they are a worthy addition to your lens line up.
    My review focuses on real world usage rather than tech specs and hopefully I give an insight into how well these lenses perform in the field/ I have linked the Tokina website below should you want all the technical information on the lenses.

    12:34 - Street photography POV examples (manual focus, RAW, and custom edits)
    16:15 - Final thoughts
    All the images and video were shot on the Fuji XT-3 at various locations around Tokyo
    Tokina kindly gave me the lenses to test out, however all opinions are my own and I was not paid anything to make this video.

    Thank you for the great review. How is the Manual focus? One thing I don't like about the manual on Fuji is that it steps and you can see it when you shot higher frame rates and slow down the footage. Do these lenses also do that?

    Superb review covering all aspects of the lens. Big thumbs up. One question - do you know how different the considerably lesser priced Viltrox lenses are? I'm wondering if the Tokinas are indeed superior considering the over $200 price difference.

    Hello, thank you for sharing, I see in that video that there is a red flare very similar to that of the viltrox, really which one do you recommend, I do wedding photography and I like the against light, which would be the correct choice the 23mm f2Fuji or the Tokina 23mm ATX- M f1.4

    Hi, thanks for the review! Can you tell us if you rack focus (video) is it smooth or is the focus shifts in a jumpy way? Does the AF-C settings (Speed / Sensitivity) apply to these non - native lens? Also is the focus hunting common? Thanks!

    It's cool to see kids and adults in Japan still play physical games. Unlike here where people are fixated on their screens. No wonder the Japanese are so healthy physically. Now, if they could relax their work pressures a little.

    Nice Review: Best Kombo.
    But one thing to know, i dont like to carry around tripod. Do you have some handhelf stuff in this kombi without slow-mo, just 60 or 24 frames?
    With and without walking. Because i think fuji is different, instead of they have no inbody stablization.

    • @Visions_in_Toyko
      @Visions_in_Toyko  3 года назад

      I don’t think the Xt3 is the best camera for shooting handheld, at least not with my hands. Any handheld footage is pretty shaky when I shoot it and difficult to use

    • @derbystarr93
      @derbystarr93 3 года назад

      @@Visions_in_Toyko Yeah not the best camera. I mean more in general best combo, now i wanna see how it performs in video. in handheld shooting but not a walking just in standing.
      i know there a newer camers with ibis, but it didnt look natural. so i like more natural moovement, instead of artifical stabilization in da back.

  • @mikechudzinski6629

    My average guy opinion is the Tokina's render color very well. That's coatings, coating science...question mark... Must be nice to have too much to photograph, rather than having to find what to photograph. Interesting, rustic park at the beginning...

    is it justify for the almost 80% higher price as compared to the Viltrox?

    • @slackreviews
      @slackreviews 3 года назад

      I believe these have an aperture ring that clicks and the viltrox does not. That alone would keep me from buying the viltrox.

  • @elmoqbobo

    whats the difference between the tokina and viltox lenses of the same focal lengths?

    • @Visions_in_Toyko
      @Visions_in_Toyko  3 года назад +1

      From what I hear they are quite similar, I believe viltrox reverse engineered the x mount system to become compatible where as I believe the Tokina lenses worked with Fuji to license the x-mount protocol. Some people suggest that they are both essentially the same lenses but rebranded but I’m not sure if this is definitely the case. Also the coatings are different and according to other people the Tokina lenses create nicer colours and apparently they designed the coating specifically to work well with Fuji’s film simulations. I have a viltrox lens so might do some tests myself to see.

      @@Visions_in_Toyko :)))) Playing the fake calmness. Unfortunately a lot of youtube “private productions” are a waste of time. No only the “creators” copy themselves but they have a lot in common: intros (why do you need intros) longer than 10 seconds! You are not a tv station. Your viewers want information, they expect from you to get to the point and not loose their time. 5 minutes without a word! Professional stuff indeed.

      Also within that 5 minutes I showed you 2 examples of what the lenses can do, one time lapse and a video made with the lenses. People want to know what results they can get not just me talking about what the lenses can do. Maybe if you took your head out of your arse and actually payed attention to the video you would realise that there is plenty of decent information within the first 5 minutes.
