Hi TGV, Please continue to make more of these kinds of videos. You seem to have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tailoring & clothing and it's great to see you combine that with watches. I thoroughly enjoyed it. All the best, Tom.
Nowadays in Russia tracksuits are for local gym or street workout going chads and city chavs, working class gopnik boys and young men from certain neighborhoods and industrial towns, and also for various street-level thugs. Low level gangsters wear leather jackets, while those gangsters who had a thing for magenta suits and gold chains back in the 90s now wear classic business-type dark-coloured suits.
A believe a blue blazer or maybe even a traditional English school blazer should be the cornerstone of a gentleman’s jacket collection! I love all your choices!
TGV - Great stuff. I know this particular video was a ton of work to pull off, in terms of planning and editing - not at all "in a jiffy." Thanks so much for your hard work. I love the way you can put essential items in context, and have fun as you go. Thanks for making the world a more gentlemanly place. Lord knows we need it.
Thank you for such a great video! I am a blue collar guy, and appreciate the the content of this particular video. I am not afraid to admit that I could use a little help in this department. For me, this channel isn’t just about the love of horology, but about self improvement and elevation, and this video is an essential one. These are tips I carry with me throughout my day, and life. Thanks again Governor!
Each to his own of course, but a navy single brested jacket is the single most usefull jacket a man can own. Apart from that, you should really consider sizing up on that first jacket, or letting it out, seeing how the single vent or more than halfway open when it should sit flat. Love the take on watch combinations though!
In my day job (self employed accountant) I need to wear suits. To me, the word "Suit" means it suits you! I do not suit dark drab stuff that is too formal (except tuxedos of course) and I suit colour rather than grey or black. So I wear vintage suits (most older than me). I love narrow lapels (read 1960's) but I managed to score a 1940's silk suit (burgundy shot with green) with a narrow lapel that is a stunner. I got two great suits from the fifties. ..Of course I accessorize with narrow ties (sixties or fifties), the coolest of cuff-links (preferably with wee chains that look like small watch bracelets - from the sixties) and/or jewels in the cuff-links, collar pin, and of course, a cool watch. Love your stuff!
Just got my new waveless-dial Omega Seamaster Professional Ceramic in blue 41mm one month ago. Been loving it so far! Just thought you might like to know that review of it in black, as well as the midsize version you had helped me decide on it as my only mechanical luxury watch. Perfect everyday wear! Cheers.
Wow, congrats Taylor, you must be extremely chuffed with it. So glad I could help in any way, enjoy and thank you for taking the time to post that, it makes me happy to hear of your success. Best regards, TGV
I really enjoy watching your videos, please continue to diversify your video content. And Barbour clothing I can highly recommend, particularly the waxed jackets!
Excellent video. Not quite in your remit here, but over the winter I discovered the absolute joy of down filled jackets...how come nobody ever told me about this! , even in the harshest of British weather they are almost TOO warm..
13:24 You've got good taste in film too! This is England is one of my favorite films of the 2000's, a bit hard to revisit though since it's always such an emotional experience.
Looking forward to your review of the G-Shock Mini. After seeing your Christmas video, I went and ordered myself one out of Japan. It's an awesome little watch for the price!
What a dope video...thanks I have weddings to attend and my wardrobe is dusty...I like these idea s and will definitely take the poi ters....Dapper indeed!
Great subject perfectly executed. I would like to add the classic navy blue blazer to the mix , single or double breasted it does not matter. They are just so very versatile.
Brilliant Episode TGV, i appreciate the Effort gone into making this.. I’m a sucker for Coats & Jackets Etc.. So I really enjoyed this one.. I was only checking out Stone Island in Flannels yesterday as it happens.. Great Video Sir... Great to have you back on board.. BMJ ENGLAND.🏴
Living in southern California, I have no use for those cold-weather jackets. I tend to wear colored blazers, green, blue, plum, etc. with my 40s Omega bumper, black 50s Wyler, or my 90s Hamilton Ventura. I've love the 'Mad Men' look so a watch popular in the early 60s will work for me.
TGV, Your insight on this, and other fashion forward topics is much appreciated. It is quite clear that your knowledge and passion for style does not stop at watches. Keep it up! I think I speak for many of us when I say we are all captivated by your brand recommendations and history of design. Warm regards, Cameron
I was hoping for a new posting today. I was rewatching the "5 years with the Submariner" video and see that you have posted. 😀 Back on the Rolley Sub train for me!. 👍Bier and 114060 on the porch in the Sun. Life is getting better again. Just keep working my butt off. Cheers to the Gentry. 💝⌚🍷🍺👍
I was definitely missing your other style tips TGV. I really appreciate the advice because I'm absolutely terrible with matching and layering clothing. Thank you so much for the suggestions, Sir!
I love my Harrington Jackets - fits with Chinos or Jeans and with Divers and dressier watches. And I love my black Pilots Jacket, this goes with Chronos of all kind. But maybe I should get also a Flightmaster ?
I really like the down to earth, casual style 👌. Style without smugness. I would like to suggest a nice parka during the colder months of the year. Looking forward to the next one. Regards, Koen
Hi TGV Yes, matching is everything. Where it really gets interesting is where you take it to the limit without breaking the rules. I admit that’s a bit abstract...but I’m sure you know what I mean😂 Style is a very difficult subject, but you surely have it under control mate... My favorite in my personal wardrobe might be my grey windbreaker jacket combined with my 70’s Omega Cosmic with a similar grey dail. A fairly modern sport like jacket and a (very) 1970’s watch. That’s no match, is it? Yes it is, because of that dail match - and because the watch looks kind of futuristic. I’m probably the only person who think so...no one has ever commented this. But you have to feel satisfied yourself first of all😉 “I don’t particularly wish to look like a member of Run DMC”....hah, hah😂 Keep up the good work👍
I have a few favorite jackets, Smart Casual I have 2 Barbour's, A light quilted Chelsea jacket in black and a olive green waxed jacket, the same one that James Bond wears in Skyfall. For Dressing up I have a Burberry raincoat and 2 Tweed jackets, 1 light grey and 1 dark, both Harris Tweed, the 2 jackets I wear the most, my every day jackets: a military style cotton jacket by GAP in their trade mark khaki sand stone (lots of pockets for when I take the dogs for a walk) and a North Face Fleece in grey, the best all round jacket here in the UK, especially this time of year as it's both wind proof and shower resistant. For hiking, I also have a North Face Highland Jacket, when paired with the North face Fleece, I'm good for -20°C Scotland winter hikes. On the shopping wish list, Baracuta Harrington G4, Belstaff Trailmaster and a Lewis Leathers Biker Jacket.
Hi TGV. I always enjoy your videos involving not only watches, but other items essential to the aspiring Urban Gent. I have to admit that I hardly ever wear jackets here in Perth, Western Australia, given it really doesn’t get that cold for me to warrant wearing one that often. I do have to ask you, have you ever owned a pair of Doctor Martin’s Boots (good old ‘Dockers’)? I can see you in a pair of them. I love mine and my wife has a pair that are now 29 years old! She takes impeccable care of them. Fantastic and iconic brand.
Everything it looks proper on point except the adidas tracksuit with nike shoes. Much better if you picked the same brand as the tracksuit. But its not a big deal. I love your style and your videos.
Great showing of style. The Stone Island jacket really caught my eye but unfortunately, they don't have tall sizes. I was a little surprised that you wear Levis. They are good jeans but much better choices with a bit more style. Check out Joe's jeans and the Brixton line. Slim fit but their denim is so soft and luxurious. They are ~$200 a pair but last a decade even when worn regularly. Check them out if you have not heard of them.
I love this kind of content, would be great to see more on clothes, footwear and sunglasses etc. Your videos are really well made and I appreciate how you’re branching out to new and different things :)
Sadly being in the UK, I see Stone Island and I think Chav. A bit like Burberry caps. Wool overcoats Tweed jackets Barbour waxed tailored jacket They are my go to. Goes with my style which is smart casual at work and jeans / Chino and plain tee at weekends.
I’m very excited to have just booked to go to New York for a week in the summer with the family and my girlfriend! Besides the obvious tourist attractions and sights, is there anywhere or anything you think is a must whilst I’m there? It’s the first time I’ll have been and likely won’t be going again for many years, so I want to make the most of the trip! Great video as always T, nice to see some sartorial content from you like in the early days of the channel! Hope to see more videos soon, keep it up sir. Thanks, Oli
Pleasantly surprised to see the Membrana there. Big fan of Osti stuff and the modern SI/CP too, brands like plurimus and Nemen offer similar styles but a bit less well known. Also agree about the link between trainers and clothing we couldn't afford or were not bought as kids/teens suddenly being accessible as we get older.
So pleased to. hear that, I could not agree more about SI. I will check out Neman, I am not familiar with them. Thank you Sam for sharing that, enjoy those trainers too ;-) Best regards, TGV
Great video and certainly tips for me on how to grow my jacket collection! Also, really enjoyed the background music on this and the recent videos - adds a very calming effect to the already enjoyable and relaxing videos!
Great style TGV similar to mine.I recently bought a citizen ecozilla (bj8050) its an AMAZING watch!!!And i really enjoy it! The quality is amazing like a 2000€ watch and it only costs 200€ (=224$).
Harrington jackets crossover to everyone’s style, they are just sooo cool I bought my first one in 1960’s to wear on my Vespa GS scooter 👍👍 and still fashionable nowadays and I think always will be Found a great place to buy some really cool colours too Great video TGV!!
Recently made the transition from 501 to 511, just feel a better quality and fit better to my tall size. Loved wearing my Barbour Duke over winter with a Laird hat. Spring is in the air so will be reverting to my Belstaff jacket. Footwear is either desert boot, Piloti or classic Adidas
Fantastic to hear, I have that Barbour in my "watch list" too! Belstaff are great too, you have great taste. Thank you Kirk for sharing that Scott. Best regards, TGV
The duke is very snug after a few wears, really recommend it, especially if you like the chest pockets. Also try the Piloti’s. Forgot wrist watch check, it’s mainly one of many varieties of Seiko. As i too am I Seiko slut.
Any idea where I can find a h-link bracelet like the one at 14:00 ? There's so many around for sale but NONE have the flat looking links like that one. First time I saw it was one the Seiko sarx045, can't find a similar bracelet anywhere 🤯
Love a classic leather jacket and the Harrington's! Fantastic review TGV......good to see you branching out. Just bought a Tudor black bay 36mm, so keep up the watch reviews👍
02:44 What makes these jackets is the velvet details on the collar and breast pocket - together with the pattern it makes for a very classy piece of clothing.
Awesome video! I was recently gifted a Timex Navi Harbor and the book Longitude that you recommended. When are you reviewing Smiths Everest watch? I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on it. What do you think?
Hi TGV,
Please continue to make more of these kinds of videos. You seem to have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tailoring & clothing and it's great to see you combine that with watches. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
All the best,
Tom.
I like it! Everyone else is doing Baselworld churn (though some of it is great). TGV ignores the “go to for views” and busts out the fashion.
TGV is the dude who got married with his wife because she matched his watch.
JK I love you TGV
Hahahahahaha
Phone went off on my bus to work telling me a new video was up. Currently watching on my commute!
Morning from Sydney TGV!
Track Suits: I didn't know that the Russian Gangster look was popular in the UK!
It's popular worldwide, blyat!
Russians have no class what so ever.
@Anon what a vulgar statement..
A believe a blue blazer or maybe even a traditional English school blazer should be the cornerstone of a gentleman’s jacket collection!
I love all your choices!
I love your style! I am going to try and convince my husband to dress up a bit. Thanks for the video!
Yea do it turn him into an aristocrat.
Few channels bridge the gap between classic and modern as the The Urban Gentry does.
I admire your courage wearing turtleneck and jacket. I personally would be drenched within an hour, even during the winter time.
Lovely video.
I would love to see a house tour when you go around and discuss items through out the tour like art pieces and things like that!
TGV - Great stuff. I know this particular video was a ton of work to pull off, in terms of planning and editing - not at all "in a jiffy." Thanks so much for your hard work. You comment makes it all worth it.

Terrific film - pleased to say that I have a similar collection of jackets (I love a jacket). Will you do one on trench coats/duffle coats/over coats?
Just bought a Rolex Explorer 214279 because of you and adore it!
Keep the good work up! Greatings from Luxembourg
Congrats, enjoy your watch honeymoon!
I am excited for you :D
Thank you for sharing that Cedric.
Best regards,
TGV
nice watch , im between that and a millguass, cant decide...maybe it will be both!
Underdog Milgauss was too big for me l, but cool watch nevertheless
Each to his own of course, but a navy single brested jacket is the single most usefull jacket a man can own. Apart from that, you should really consider sizing up on that first jacket, or letting it out, seeing how the single vent or more than halfway open when it should sit flat.
Love the take on watch combinations though!
I love how open-minded that TGV is in regards to wearing a women's watch. I've been thinking about doing that as well.
I love the way you switch from a typical british accent to an on the spot italian pronunciation. Good job man, keep it up!
Italian is actually his first language. He mentioned it in an old FAQ

That Velvet Jacket and the Cartier Tank were so beautiful !
that hamilton watch looks so cool
You certainly know your style. Stone island + Breitling is my pick of the bunch!
I love when you do timeless classic fashion or just quality items to invest in.
Just got my new waveless-dial Omega Seamaster Professional Ceramic in blue 41mm one month ago. Been loving it so far! Just thought you might like to know that review of it in black, as well as the midsize version you had helped me decide on it as my only mechanical luxury watch.

I really enjoy watching your videos, please continue to diversify your video content. And Barbour clothing I can highly recommend, particularly the waxed jackets!
Who knew there was such thing as a controversial rain jacket! 😂
Great to see you dipping back into your channel's roots. Glad that your encourage your viewers to dress nicely. Thanks!

Love to see your content branching out!

I am 31 years old and I have never worn a dress jacket nor have I ever worn a suit, I do live in Australia though and this was fun to watch.
Air max 90s and stone island! You got a hypebeast side as well! Haha

I finally bought Floris #89 and absolutely love it! Thanks for bringing that amazing fragrance to my attention. Cheers!!!
I was definitely missing your other style tips TGV. I really appreciate the advice because I'm absolutely terrible with matching and layering clothing. Thank you so much for the suggestions, Sir!
Perfect timing. Been needing a sports coat for a year now. Time to take the plunge!
I love my Harrington Jackets - fits with Chinos or Jeans and with Divers and dressier watches. And I love my black Pilots Jacket, this goes with Chronos of all kind. But maybe I should get also a Flightmaster ?

Thank you Koen, great idea.
I will have to do a winter edition later in the year ;-)
Best regards,

I love the change up in content ! You deserve your own Netflix show. Also, those new balance are slick.
Hey TGV have you seen the new release of the Orient Bambino now in 36mm? And what are your thougts about it!

I like your videos that are about fashion & style . please make those again
I really like how calm, soft and gentle you spoke in this video. A little bit of ASMR ;)
Great choices- matching watches too!
I get more compliments on my leather, Harrington and suede bomber jacket than anything else.
Cheers
well finally the extension of a good watch ;) thx tristano (Marc from France)
Loved the video mate.....!!!!

This video is dripping class. My style is similar to yours. Great video, you should try moonlighting as a model :D
Dark brown Harrington or leather jacket paired with my brown fedora is a must for me!
Can't lie you got style TGV well done
Thank you from Houston Tx USA
wow this is new 😬 quite dashing 👌🏼
Always refreshing to see this line of videos from you
Happy to hear it, thank you my friend.

Everything it looks proper on point except the adidas tracksuit with nike shoes. Much better if you picked the same brand as the tracksuit. But its not a big deal. I love your style and your videos.
Great video. Good to mix it up here and there with this sort of content. Good show old boy! Cheers.
I have that same harrington jacket you have except mine is forest green & I have a khaki one as well. Excellent video TGV, cheers
I’m also looking to buy a neptune once the preorders are done! An excellent pairing indeed.
I love my Thursday chukkahs. I got them at their boutique in flatiron. I think you’ll like them as well in due time!!
I love this kind of content, would be great to see more on clothes, footwear and sunglasses etc. Your videos are really well made and I appreciate how you’re branching out to new and different things :)
That world timer is 🔥
great video Tristano!
Thank you Renzo! :D
Best regards,
TGV
I like the combination of classic British and American brands. Well done sir!
Enjoyed the video but surely the CP Mille Miglia should’ve got a mention seeing as it’s the only jacket that has a watch viewer in it’s sleeve.
Sadly being in the UK, I see Stone Island and I think Chav. A bit like Burberry caps.
Wool overcoats
Tweed jackets
Barbour waxed tailored jacket
They are my go to. Goes with my style which is smart casual at work and jeans / Chino and plain tee at weekends.
Nice. Some really great clobber there. And good to see the Hydra making an appearance again 😉 a relevant application I thought.
I’m very excited to have just booked to go to New York for a week in the summer with the family and my girlfriend! Tennement museum - immigrant history of New York
The stone island for when tgv has a video to shoot at 9 and Millwall away at 3. Seriously though they are good jackets.
LOL!
Great comment,
Thank you my friend.

Thank you Sam for sharing that, enjoy those trainers too ;-)

Great style TGV similar to mine.I recently bought a citizen ecozilla (bj8050) its an AMAZING watch!!!And i really enjoy it! The quality is amazing like a 2000€ watch and it only costs 200€ (=224$).
Yes my friend ... yes ... Osti in your life !!!!
Was literally thinking of jackets to buy this morning
Hat down to you dear, great selection, great fun. Your shoes tell it all gentlemen.
Great video as always! I really like the Corduroy jacket and trenchcoat. I’m thinking of getting a tweed jacket it just looks so dapper.
Harrington jackets crossover to everyone’s style, they are just sooo cool
I bought my first one in 1960’s to wear on my Vespa GS scooter 👍👍 and still fashionable nowadays and I think always will be
Found a great place to buy some really cool colours too
Great video TGV!!
I like your style Kevin, look is timeless!!! I bet you. looked the kicker nickers on your scooter.
Thank you,
Best regards,

I have a Daks topcoat. Since I live in Tucson, I wear it maybe one week during the year.
I have a second hand Harris Tweed sport coat that I love! My go to summer sport coat is made from raw silk that gets mad compliments. Great video TGV!
I would love to see that.
Thank you Jay, keep enjoying it. I love special pieces like that.
Best regards,
TGV
Try out Filson mackinaw wool cruiser.... you'll fall in love.
That Cartier Tank Solo watch is so elegant. Personally I think it’s the best watch Cartier watch they make.
I don't have the discipline to be so tuned in to style, but it's cool to see. Nice video. 👍
Enjoyable video tgv, thank you. For the hot summer, I found perlon watch straps are the best with their open weave.
A pleasure, I could not agree more about the perlons in summer.
Excellent point, thank you.
Best regards,
TGV
Recently made the transition from 501 to 511, just feel a better quality and fit better to my tall size. Loved wearing my Barbour Duke over winter with a Laird hat. Spring is in the air so will be reverting to my Belstaff jacket. Footwear is either desert boot, Piloti or classic Adidas
Fantastic to hear, I have that Barbour in my "watch list" too! Belstaff are great too, you have great taste.
Thank you Kirk for sharing that Scott.

Love the sartorial content! Keep it up.
Hey tgv another great topic they really help me when I'm puting together different outfits Thanks
just ordered a harrington. Thanks TGV!
Awesome video! I was recently gifted a Timex Navi Harbor and the book Longitude that you recommended. When are you reviewing Smiths Everest watch? I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on it. What do you think?
