I have Lock fedora from the 1930s. Still in business and have been since 1676. You can remove the green verdigris on the visor snap with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. You look great in the new clothes. Tell the cleaners to drench your shirts in heavy starch to complete the look. Bravo man!

TGV, you might want to take your coat back to Dak's. I know in the old days they would take in or out a suit or coat if your body size had changed.
In fact that goes for most old school English tailoring.

I had a nice wool three piece suit similar to your first jacket when I was much younger and lighter. Loved that suit. later on, I had a blue, a black and a green sports jacket that was similar that first jacket. I wore them with black trousers and black loafers.

+The Urban Gentry I currently live in Central Indiana in the States. I retired six years ago and I no longer need to go to meetings and I gave up dating (wife didn't like it). I primarily wear Ball Caps, Tropical Shirts, Tan or Dark Blue Shorts and Casual Brown Slip-on Shoes sometimes with no socks. If I lived near a beach, you would call me a beach bum indeed. I normally dress like this year round while trading off the short pants for long pants in winter. I'll throw on a lightweight dark brown brown or dark blue jacket when it truly gets cold. As long as my wife is OK with what I wear, I don't worry at all about what other people think.
I really enjoy your videos, great way to explain and sense of stile. :)

Great question, I have 2 sets of boots, one cheap water proof ones I wear in the snow/shooting/or walking the dog, and then smarter ones (like in this video). For good leather boots for the wet and snow I recommend this Danish brand called Ecco, affordable and keeps your feet dry and warm.

When it comes to winterwear i break out the tweed suits. I've always gone for Scottish Thornproof Tweeds in a Donegal style weave. A good Burberry Brit Trench Coat caps off the classic look.
For more extreme weather conditions you can't really go wrong with Barbour although i tend to break out my North Face Parka when the needle dips below freezing.

Looking quite the bobby dazzler there TGV! The glove review is timely as my pair (similar looking but not as nicely made) are starting to get a bit thread bare. Love your grandfather's cap - that's a true keepsake and amazing to think of its age. When we were in Firenze a few years back I bought a flat cap that was made there Funny thing, it looks quintessentially British - its a dark green corduroy. Nicely made but I've no illusions that it'll last years and years like your granddad's. Keep these sorts of videos coming, nice mix up from the watch reviews (of course, I love those too). Winter is 65-70 degrees high and 40-50 degree low. And we get some rain. I wear Barbour rain coat and Barbour green nylon quilted jacket as a liner or casual coat.

I used to hate dressing up in suits and such, but I find as time passes I come to enjoy it more and more. Unfortunately, I have to dress more casually because a slim fit in suits, coats, and sports jackets fit in every way except that my back and shoulders are wider than what is typical for someone my size.
good video.. one thing I dislike about the Nato straps is how off balance they look with that foldover on one side. what I've done is modify mine to remove that third buckle. it's the only way I can wear mine.

I noticed that your Moss Bros jacket is a size 38s in a slim fit. I am wondering whether Moss Bros is true to size.
I heard about you could send your measurements to India and for a hundred euros they will tailor a suit for you. That's sounds like something I might do, I only need to learn to take my own measurements!
